The Beretta deserves to be put on a stand just for appreciation of its beautiful design
They're both beautiful
Totally agree
Own both, there's a reason for that. It's hard to decide which is best, really depemds on mood if you have to choose. I don't have to, I take both. CZ-USA as my car gun, Beretta on my hip.
I own and shoot numerous Wilson Combats that have been customized by Wilson for IDPA competition. And I have a new Beretta 92X w/ a custom trigger tune by Wilson. The 92X is fast, laser accurate, and. Very reliable.
Apologies for the audio issues. The sound man screwed up. I would fire him - but he's me! Cleaned it up best I could... again, sorry for that - especially for you headphone wearers.
Give him a chance!!
Justin Opinion Keep up the great work
Dude your badass.
Sounds like it's raining 🌧😕😐🙄
Great video. I already own a CZ Shadow 2 and was anxiously awaiting for my local gun store to bring in the Beretta 92X Performance. I was excited to handle it once it came it, then I tried out the trigger. Not that is was bad, but the CZ Shadow 2 trigger feels better to me. Perhaps it is what I am already used to. Either pistol is a testament of the very best that each manufacturer has poured into a production pistol and is very worthy of being added to anyone’s collection. I am not a competitive shooter, but I can appreciate a well made all metal pistol that I can pass on to my children’s children.
Californians have neither.
@@h3infusionhemp940 it’s disheartening to hear that when we both live in the same country.
I agree the trigger upgrades one the 92X are 100% worth it, out the box the trigger is as creepy as Joe Biden
That's it, i'm going for the 92x
Beretta 92x is the most beautiful pistol i ever seen. That alone should be able to cut the deal considering its such a close in competition in performance
Thanks !
You smoke to much and got mist
That blocks your view...
Team cz ! AIGHT
With all due respect to your opinion, sir, beauty is in the firing hand of the observer. I think the CZ is far more attractive than the 92.
But like most although I appreciate the ergonomics and engineering of the CZ more, I hate the purchase on the internal slide.
I bought the 92x just for 1 reason the looks of it made me feel all fuzzy inside. Great gun have absolutely no complaints been thinking about getting a cz but in 40 caliber just because I only have 1 40 cal pistol but have like 10 9mm pistols among others
Love both of these!! That Beretta is absolutely a beautiful pistol!! IMHO my vote is for 92x, wait no shadow2 wait no, all hell!!🤔😁😉🤷
Lol...need them both...I think it depends on the type of day it is...do I feel flashy and wanna hop in my mercedes amg or do I want to keep it low and ride in my Landcruiser?🤔
I just got the Shadow 2 so I’m gonna have to do my own head to head with these. From my first impressions, I can’t choose one over the other either. I’m just so happy to have them both to enjoy! They both are amazing! Thank you for your videos, your production is top notch!
Marcus W. Kroll, Esq. I’m not a competitive shooter, so I can’t say. There are in my opinion different aspects of both that would work well in match shooting, I’m very impressed with both!!
That's the song of my people as well.
I like the table top reviews it really shows a lot of things that most channels don’t go over. Or talk in detail.
Both are great but Beretta 92X Performance is better.
I'm glad you did this comparison, hard choice between those two beauties. That shooting group at the beginning was insanely awesome!
@Derck McCoy wich one would you recommend to buy first?
I have to say,, you make the absolute best head to head videos on the Tube, hands down.. Thank You for your time..
Wow, thank you!
I love both guns. I just got the chance to shoot my brother-in-law's Shadow 2 yesterday and have experience shooing my father's Beretta 92X Performance that my siblings and I purchased for his birthday. Honestly you can't go wrong with either one. I prefer the trigger on the 92X Performance (they're comparable in SA but DA trigger is better and the 92X has a slightly better reset) , the look of it, and the straighter grip angle (closer to the 1911 style that I'm familiar with). The CZ Shadow 2 has one of the best trigger (it's so smooth in DA even if you might never shoot it that way), it's such a flat shooter, it's lighter, and I prefer the higher sights. Without much experience or training with both, I tend to shoot the Shadow 2 better but I'd probably buy the Beretta 92X Performance if I had the money for it. The 92X Performance is what I slightly prefer more if I'm splitting hair, but I would be happy with either one.
Try the single action trigger shadow 2 and there is no comparison, I own both. Looks go to the beretta 92x and performance goes to the shadow 2.
Thumbed up just for the opening. "I play for you now, the song of my people."
I thought it would be an Elizabeth Warren I am 1/1024th honest injun rant...
I completely agree on the “if I pay big bucks for a gun, it should fire everything” that’s why I like a Shadow 2 or a 92x more than many 2011s that cost 5k and can’t shoot even range ammo sometimes.
Very important. My steel Sigs also fire whatever ammo you feed it, flawlessly
Bought the 92X Performance about 3 months ago and absolutely love it. Just ordered a Shadow 2 in Urban Gray, this will be CZ #8. These are 2 beautiful firearms.
What do you think of the competition take down lever? Is it actually comfortable to use?
I've always thought the Beretta 92 style is one of the sexiest designs ever. Give it to the Italians to design anything like the curves of a woman 😍
I have owned 3 Ducati motorcycles (and no Barettas). All three were sexy as hell but just like my ex, they didn't like to be ridden hard and were very unreliable. Afraid that the Baretta might be the same. I went with the sturdy Glock and BMW. I am at peace.
Dino Bambino I dont know about motor cycles but i can guarantee you sir the beretta is one of the toughest most well made pistols you can own. It can withstand just about anything you throw at it and it will always fire.
Dino Bambino Also BMW is known for being over priced pieces of crap. Its actually ironic that you would be concerned with reliability and own a bmw. Glock is OK but a plastic gun will always be a plastic gun. Cheap inexpensive and disposable.
@@MrInzombia And the Beretta will never fire unless you pull the trigger
@@dinobambino7526 yes, cause you probably can’t trust reliability from beretta, only the worlds oldest gun manufacturer since the 1600s…
I like them both. Leaning towards the 92X P.
Watching him shoot both seem to handle recoil very well but it’s noticeable that the 92 has more muzzle flip than the CZ.
I thought the same thing.
92 is shot left handed, but CZ also has a lower bore axis which helps mitigate muzzle rise.
I noticed that as well. Kind of odd sewing that the berettas r pretty heavy
Thanks for the reply. You make some of the best videos. Thanks again. I think for the money shadow 2 is about as good as you can get. I do shoot the checkmate. At 21 feet I put a group about the size of a nickel. I’ve been shooting for 70 years. It’s hard to miss with a 1 pound trigger. Thanks.
Looks-wise, I'll have to go with the Beretta.
Great video, thanks. I have the Berretta 92X Performance Defensive. I find it has a 6 o'clock hold. I wondered why you were shooting a little high on the slow fire 10-yard target?
Awesome video! We will have to get you some Beretta 92X Performance grips soon! 😉
A draw seems right to me too. Cool factor, hard to say. If I had to choose Id get the Berreta I think.
Love berettas since my 92 fs in 1987 think i’ll get another
Range ... what range are the targets and plates at? 5 meters ... 10 meters or more? What good is a group if no mention of range?
I’d love to see a three way versus with the Walther Q5 match SF thrown in. I’d love all three of these fine weapons.
That'd be interesting. I've got a CZ SP01 with a Cajun Gun Works pro package and SRO installed and a 5in PPQ M1 with an Apex trigger, reduced strength safety plunger spring and Vortex red dot - the poor man's versions of the Shadow and Q5. I enjoy shooting the SP01 more than any handgun I own but I shoot the PPQ the best. It'd be great to see a Shadow vs Q5 vs all other contenders shootout.
There's another video explaining the axis of the barrel, and where the weight is in the slide of the CZ. Great engineering. Why the slide is narrow, and triangular etc.
I can't believe the difference in the slide was not mentioned.
One thing to consider, there will be much more aftermarket support for the Beretta. And i agree with Anthony it is sexy
Not true. The CZ shadow 2 is currently the most popular out of the box competition gun on the planet. Take a look. There's way more aftermarket support for the CZ
Great job. Incredible job. Thank you.
I own the Beretta. I can attest to the awesome footage of and descriptions of this beautiful piece. I have on lay-a-way a CZ TS 2. I am seriously considering going with the Shadow 2 now. Maybe with blue grips.
The first time I picked up my CZ P-01 I had the same reaction as you - "Oh baby, come to Papa!". I almost immediately ordered an SP-01. Same thing. I may eventually end up with a Shadow, who knows 😁The only other handguns that give me that "Oh baby" grip feel are my PPQs.
SEAKPhotog -Yep, you can tune the spO1 real close to the same as the S2. Comp Springs, a trigger polish massage, sights, and the biggy, + most controversial, the removal of the trigger safety block in slide. Cajun Gun Works, or CZ customs has the upgrade goodies. Cajun seems a bit more responsive if your in a hurry, like you need a spring next day for a match. I try to keep one extra of every spring that may break for my match guns. Duty gun springs will last forever.
@@lazerrred yep, my SP01 has been given the CGW pro package treatment plus an SRO 🙂 It's a sweet shooter for sure.
SEAKPhotog - It doesn’t get any better than that. LOL, CGW = awesome.👍🇺🇸
@@lazerrred yep, dealing with them was a blast. Every time I got a phone call their enthusiasm for what they're doing was obvious. I'll likely have them do my PCR as well. 😉
I feel exactly the same way. Picked up the P-01 Omega for the first time and it was like a revelation. Same thing for my PPQs.
the CZ looks to rock and roll, i will take the Beretta, classic
Great video, I’ve been looking at a few CZ’s still leaning with the 92x
The reigning champion of competition built production guns is the Tanfoglio Stock II. Tanfoglio guns won the IPSC world Shoot for 20 years in a row in Production division.
Neutron Alchemist - Tanfoglio makes fantastic pistols & I believe they are even working with IMI with the Jericho. That said, both are CZ 75 clones from way back after the war the Czech Republic could not export any armament. It’s an interesting story, and for those who may enjoy some CZ history, here you go: en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/CZ_75
@@lazerrred Tanfoglio made a clone of the CZ75, altough with some changes (a decocker), with the TZ75 back in the early '80s and started to independently evolving the design from there. They introduced many innovations to the design (firing pin block, multicaliber capability, polymer framed guns...) before CZ did and, specifically, made dedicated pistols for competition dynamic shooting since the early '90s.
The two products already clashed on World Shoot 2017, and the Tanfoglio products won (winning both Standard and Product divisions). We'll see if things will change in 2020, but the reigning champion of competition built production guns is the Tanfoglio Stock II.
The Jericho / Baby Eagle were Tanfoglio made parts assembled in Israel at least until 2012.
Video doesn't include the most important aspect of these guns, which is how quick you can shoot them accurately. Even if you suck at shooting, would have been nice to see.
Just imagine how good the 92x trigger will be after there are as many rounds through it as your CZ.
Man just bought a 92x performance and I can tell you there’s a huge difference between the 92xp and the cz. You can feel the difference of quality right away the beretta has a lotttt better quality 😊.
Bought the 92x yesterday..can't wait to find some 9 mill to shoot
The song of your people is music to my ears. Great video as always.
I'm really happy that you made this awesome video. I was able to compare the trigger of a Shadow 2, Beretta 92x performance, Tanfoglio stock 2 and 3 and extreme. I was seriously dissapointed at the Tanfoglios considering their immense popularity in the competition scene. I own a Shadow 2 and love it to bits, however the Beretta 92x has a fantastic reset, tis the most amazing thing I've seen next only to my 1911s and 2011s. I'm primarily a 2011 guy so that reset really matters to me. the one thing that drives me nuts is how short that 92x has for a grip. I worry that I'll get bit every time I insert a mag in it. I'd love to shoot all these guns more extensively soon. oh yeah, I'd be so tempted to use that Beretta slide release as a thumb rest hahaha
They now have aftermarket mag wells and aluminum grips! 😁
@@troyelder56 hello from 2023, I wish we could see more of them in USPSA. I know JJ uses them. My brother want to make this his first gun. Those magwells will come in handy. LOK Grips selection is also wonderful. cheers man
Beretta 92x performance how much they going for
I'd love either if not both!
I’ve wanted the Shadow 2 for a couple years now, then I see the 92x and had to have it! I love it!
Und immer noch zufrieden mit der Beretta? Bin auch noch am überlegen zwischen CZ oder Beretta.
Thanks for a very interesting comparison video. Like you I consider these two pistol so close I could not pick one over the other and perhaps that is why I own both. Now I did a similar comparison between two polymer pistols, the Walther Q5 match and the Sig P320 Legion and between those two I liked the Sig better.
Great review as always. Although this is 4 years old now. Perhaps a new head to head review just to see if your feelings are the same still
This is easy I choose both of them !
I like both too ...
@@richki.24 👍
the choice of any true gun fanatic
I have the 92X Performance and if you take a Mecgar 18 round mags base plate off and replace it with the base plate on the 15 rnd that comes with it you have the same fitment and 18 plus 1 👍 the 18 rnd fits without changing the base but if you want the thicker base plate thats on the 15'er just swap them out.
how does this 92x performance recoil compared to X5 legion or Shadow2?
@@jackomalley3687 Its about the same as Shadow2 I dont know about the Sig I took a pass on it.
@@Youngguns173SW what about accuracy and folluwup shots? I am torn between the two. I heard bad stories about the Shadow2 frame cracking near take down lever hole
@@jackomalley3687 My S2 has been flawless no cracks or issues. I personally have never known of one cracking but thats just my limited number of friends that have one. The accuracy of the 2 are tit for tat with me. The Beretta feels like I can shoot it faster but i've not timed it and its a tiny fraction if at all. The Beretta has a better trigger to me that reset is INCREDIBLE
@@Youngguns173SW wow! If I get the Shadow2 I think I will go with Accu Shadow as that has the bushing and shorter reset. The only thing I do not like about beretta is the grip is fatter and the bore axes seems higher. and the beretta has a Niston finish and the barrel is sadly blued. I was hoping the finish could have been like the shadow which is nitride
Well done sir, I have often wondered the difference between the two of these, I carry a 92FS so I may upgrade. Good video
Any comparisons opinions on the 92 elite ltt vs the 92 x performance. Thanks all.
There's no wrong choice here. Both are great guns! Great comparison, too.
Excelente video muy ilustrativo y comparativo, personalmente me gustó más la Bereta 92x
Saludos cordiales desde Esmeraldas-Ecuador 👍👏
CZ watched this vid and made “adjustments”. I just bought a brand new SP-01 and now it comes with a fiber optic front site from the factory. I’m pretty sure you had a direct influence in that thank you Justin for your work I appreciate you and love the channel and content
Beretta , less reciprocating mass maybe? I love them both.
The stock trigger on the CZ Shadow 2 is nice, but it’s heavy. Mine was pulling at around 10+# until I did a trigger job on it. Now it’s a great trigger.
The Beretta is a stunning looking piece and amazing shooter. That CZ is plain/boring looking. The CZ reminds me of Large glock LMAO. I'd take that Beretta all day and it's a work of art!
He’s got the hands. Like the beretta better. He does a mean analysis good job. I use a modified Kimber eclipse target 2 With plus P
Political but very thoroughly done. The CZ is my fav but I could see the Beretta as a tacti-cool choice.
For $40 bucks pick up a 12lb hammer spring and extended firing pin from CZ Custom and your Shadow 2 will end up with a 2.75 lb SA and 6.5-7lb DA. All the trigger job you need and lights off any primers 100%. I've even tried the hardest like IMI and M885.
I think the stock 92X Performance trigger wins. My stock Shadow 2 trigger had just a little creep in the single action pull. Stock 92X Performance trigger has a better defined single action wall with no creep. Both have amazing double action.
92X Performance might be more versatile with the wrap around grip but the Shadow 2 reach is more friendly for people with smaller hands.
Very difficult to recommend one over the other. An honest answer from someone who loves both guns and has extensive background with both manufacturers would be to buy both.
All I want for Christmas is a Beretta APX Target review video.
Thanks for the video, a few days ago II was at my range/store and I saw the Beretta I looked at it and fell in love, but I didn't buy it, 2 days later. I went back but it was gone, then I saw the CZ Shadow 2 and I bought it, now I'm just waiting for my approval and the 72hr wait here in Illinois , can't wait to shoot it and have a great time, but if I see the Beretta again I'm not going to hesitate this time, great job, be safe and thanks again.
If I had to pick just one. I would pick the CZ for my right hand and the 92X for my left. Okay I would probably switch hands the next day. Long established legacy of absolute quality and reliability with either firearm.
Justin-good review, I have both guns, feel the CZ has less felt recoil. You didn't comment on recoil, but i would like your opinion. Thanks.
By a slim margin, I would agree. The low bore of the CZ puts the recoil impulse more into the straight like of your arm - which is perceived as less energy.
The Shadow 2 is the best shooting handgun I've ever owned! I had a P210 target until I shot the S2 then I traded it in.
Beretta finally wised up! They finally put the safety on the frame, that and price point only reason I don't buy one. Why would I when my Taurus PT 100 from 1991 is still in service as my duty weapon to this day. Flawless performance with no visible signs of wear inside or out, she still looks almost new, and has never been a cabinet queen, lol! I like that Shadow, but again, they make it in the tristar brand by Canick for considerably less, and still putting up good reviews by owners and critics alike. I don't buy overpriced anything, I also don't buy cheap! I do however buy good everything cheap, lol!
Two things. First, the engineers at Beretta would be pleased with your review as they are competing with CZ in this area. Second, I have large hands and my after-market LOK palm swell grips have made all the difference on my SP01s.
Have you tried the new AccuShadow2 yet? The Beretta seems to have MORE muzzle flip than the CZ.
P.S. Actually, the Beretta DOES have a safety-DE-COCKER lever which can be changed for a de-cocker only.
N.B. The PICCATINNY RAIL on the CZ can only accommodate an item in ONE position, while the one on the Beretta has 3 positions. :-)
92xp he has there actually has frame safety
How much different is the baretta 92x vs Taurus pt92afs I have the Taurus and I have to say it shoots so amazing and it does have a decocker thanks for any info
Berreta The best handgun
Keep it up making quality video like it this one.👍.
The real matatan.🤔.
What’s your recommendation if you could only choose one?
the CZ!

92X
Beretta 92X
CZ is the best
Just picked my first CZ, a Shadow 2 Compact. Now I own and LOVE my Beretta 92X and shoot very well with it. If the CZ impresses me more I'll be surprised yet happy at the same time.
I'm new to this high end pistol thing... Just bought a TSO from a guy from work and enjoy it quite a bit. No idea how it compares to these two, but if you ever get the chance to feel that trigger...
Excellent detailing, especially in your side-by-side comparison. The CZ does a better job of taming the recoil, and follow up shots were clearly better with the CZ....making the Shadow2's performance much smoother than the Baretta. Great video!
Thanks 👍
This is one person shooting two guns left and right handed. Not an accurate picture of recoil on a level playing field. The only truly accurate way to conclude that the Beretta has more muzzle flip is to run both guns with the same ammo and springs on a bench rest and measure the splits, groupings, and degree of flip from each shot. I suspect the author is right handed. If the Beretta was in his right hand, perhaps it would have less muzzle flip. …
With factory red dot cuts, I’m in for either or both and for that price it should be included IMO. Good video.
I just love CZs (love the S2 design/feel) - therefore I'd automatically go with that one if had to choose just one of these two..
..but I'd never look downwards at the Beretta 92X.
-Just a "personal preference".
GREAT REVIEW TOUGH CALL I LIKE YOUR SENSE OF HUMOR.
I WANT BOTH. BUT LIKE YOU THE CZ FITS THE HAND LIKE A GLOVE!!!!!!
Please, what is the distance between the shotter and the target ?
Wow thanks!
Love my CZ85 SAO.
Like my Beretta M9A1 except the damn safety is backwards compared to the 1911s and CZs.
I might sell the M9A1 and get the the new Beretta 92X performance.
I wish Beretta would sell the Beretta Steel 1 with the SAO and safety like a 1911.
But these guns are rare in the USA and sell for over $1000 if you can find one.
After watching this great review, Now I want both the Shadow and the 92X performance.
Thanks again!👍👍🤠
I'm not sure if I missed it but how far are those targets? both the steel and orange paper. Cheers and thanks for the video!
great in-depth review, I’m going to try these both myself and I hope I like more Beretta because of looks 😅
what distance are you shooting on the beginning?
To think we could literally buy a used car for what these 2 pistols cost 😂 I’m sure we’ve all purchased a gun when we financially probably shouldn’t have 😬 Walk in the store to look walk out with a purchase
Thanks for the great review. I’m a CZ man but have an LTT modified M9A3 that has a better trigger than my CZ S2. But I still shoot my S2 better. It just fits into my hands better. And I run my M9 with the 1zie too. The Berettas just take some time to get used to but that slide release and take down lever and less mags and lower round counts per mags on the 92X are deal breakers vs my M9. And the S2 don’t have those issues of course. I’ll stick with my CZ’s. Thanks again!!!
The mecgar 18 round mags are flush fit on it.
A pay per view event that ended in a draw!? I declare an immediate rematch please
Where and how did you get your 92x P? I ordered mine back in April2019 and it still has not arrived. If anyone has any info please let me know. Thanks in advance.
matt bahner That’s crazy! I picked mine up at my LGS. Got the 2nd one sold because I waited too long on the 1st and it sold quickly. It was just sitting there in a display case....
Havoc813 you are either very fortunate or I have the worst luck. I’ve asked my FFL multiple times for updates. I always get the same responses. 1. The beretta vendor hasn’t given a date. 2. Tells me not to worry, he’s waiting on one for himself and he’s going to get to the bottom of it.
matt bahner When I missed on the 1st, the manager told me, “I ordered another and it’ll come in with our weekly delivery” so I locked it down at that point before it would ever see the shelf. Idk how they’re not able to tell you if they have one on order. They should know per their order manifest just like my LGS knew
Havoc813 I pre ordered and paid in full back in April. Starting to think my dealer is full of s@*!. I’m going back this week and raising hell. Thanks for the info and your time. Merry Christmas.
The only thing that beats a shadow 2 is a modded shadow 2!
The AccuShadow 2 is amazing. The bushing is a bit of a pain to get loose the first couple of times you take the pistol down, but it's not bad, once you get used to it.
How about the rear low end of the grip ? That area is kind of sharp and cuts the hand.
At what distance were you shooting?
Drilling 31 rounds in one hole with two guns and only one flyer?!!!?? Respect!! Lol
A Beretta 92 with a safety I could like!
A couple of winners.
I will need to shoot the Beretta to see how it compares to the CZ, which I have shot.
Cheers, Tony
My 92X came with three 17rd magazines.

Obviously.
The 92X is clearly the winner. The CZ trigger looks like it came off of an old Daisy B B gun. It's also smoking from every orifice.
Cheaply built pistol shooting cheap ammo.
Rick Taylor CZs are excellent pistols! The S2 was built specifically as a competition pistol and is world renowned for its performance and reliability! In the near price range is the CZ TS which has a trigger that would make most 1911 fan boys cream their jeans! I think both pistols in this compare video are excellent choices. But to compare the S2 trigger to a BB gun is just ignorant.
@@kevcom82 The CZ is a toy, compared to the Beretta or the Sig P 226. I wouldn't give $5 dollars for every 1911 ever produced.
CZ pistols have a stamped out sheet metal slide, and the trigger on the CZ 75 I used to have was 10 + pounds pull. If you own the Beretta 92, you should try the Langdon Tactical trigger bar. The reset is incredibly short. 1/10th inch.
