This is Ellie from the U.K and I absolutely am in awe of your fantastic furniture flipping skills. I use to do it but now I’m going to go back to it because of you. Thank you for being so inspirational to watch. The way you’re going you’ll soon have a down payment on a house. Good Luck. X

Hi Loren I have a question I have a French provincial bedroom suit is the poster bed a dresser and a chest I’m 67 years old and I got this when I was a little girl I still have it it needs painted desperately so my question is should I use like a roll on like Beyond paint or chalk paint with a sealer? That TSP-in-a-spray-bottle is genius ! Watching you work so thoroughly is inspirational. You are so enjoyable to watch ! Thank you for putting it all on video
The butter cream is gorgeous as is the dark dark blue. I think they would be gorgeous in the same room for a real pop........it would be a special room but I totally could see it. Thomasville Furniture was untouchable when I wanted it back in the 60's......... I did get a French provincial dresser in 65" and still have it in a closet waiting to redo it. It's been through four generations now and back to the original owner, me. I am delighted to have it and I believe the mirror also. I can't wait to get it out in the spring and try my hand at it...........your work is beautiful! TYFS
You're my favorite flipper to watch, Lauren! So easy to follow the process and I enjoy how you describe your thinking process with each project-with us! Thank you!
We have some great things planned! May include more videos here and there! But be sure to catch us on FFT Fridays on Dixie Belle’s Channel for these same style videos! 🤗
I have been looking for an entire set of French Provincial furniture to redo for myself for over 3 years. You can’t find them where I live. I am extremely jealous. $100 is a steal for a whole set.
Yes, this was an epic find! And somehow I got 2 almost identical sets for $100 each just about 3-4 weeks apart. It was definitely a fluke! Haven't seen any that cheap since! Hope you find yours soon! (: Thanks for watching!
I’m not a French country style person. Except now that I see these pieces in dark colors, I’m changing my mind! I could also see gold striping added ala Kacha. In your free time (now that you’re in business for yourself, you probably don’t have much), I recommend dashner design and restoration UA-cam Channel. He's into staining so not your style quite yet. However, he has to do repairs and he strips wood with a paint stripping scraper, which he says is faster than sanding. I thought you might enjoy his channel to learn about how some pieces are made. He's a one man show I think. I'm excited to come along your new adventure!
Wow!! These turned out so beautiful!! You have a natural talent! Just wondering how much time went in on refinishing these pieces from start to finish? Keep up the amazing work!!
Can you believe I bought that same set at a yard sale 15 years ago for $100, which I thought was a great price! I painted it all crisp white and still have it today! I bought it for my daughter and later moved it into my room as it fits my style more. Those turned out beautiful. My heart sank when you were telling your oops story. You sure did get lucky with that!! That's got to feel good to have so many requests though. Good for you! 👍
That is awesome! Definitely a GREAT find back then too! Awesome that you still have the set! I know...I got a little nervous but once I thought it all through, I knew I had gotten really lucky! Thanks for watching !
I have been watching since your very first videos. So proud that you have been able to make a career out of reinventing furniture. I bought and refurbished furniture for 6 years until I burned out. We had more and more people come on facebook that slapped paint on furniture then sold it for nothing. Customers would want to know why I asked such a higher price for my work or pieces that I done. I always told them I was a professional that had may hours of classes to learn the proper way to paint furniture. That way I could stand behind my work. I don’t think those who were weekend painters were going to give them a guarantee of their work. I finally got tired of trying to get the prices. Not only that ,we had so many people on facebook painting furniture the prices of used furniture was ridiculous prices. I sure wish I had known about UA-cam back then. I certainly would have started a channel teaching to paint or restore to original with stains and topcoats. I sold to a wholesaler that had the facebook following in the thousands . I had a booth in an antique store and also had my own facebook page with a pretty good local following. I also sold on marketplace. We had so many painters here because we had so many thrift stores and antique stores. Our town is known for Antique Alley. Anyway long story to say congratulations for making a success out of what you want to so. Be careful not to burn yourself out. I am seventy and it was getting too hard for me to handle all that furniture by myself anyway. So i gave it up last year.
Thanks for sharing. What an amazing journey you have had. A lot of knowledge. Glad you have time for a well deserved retirement. Enjoy!! Driving Miss Daisy
Yes! Thanks for sharing! I am also beginning to see a bit of a saturated market but I do think people will fade away as they reach their goals. I am trying to also build up a local following! Have fun in retirement! Thanks for watching and supporting!
I really applaud you for explaining the mix up, many people wouldn't have done that. The teacher in you understands we all learn from our mistakes (well we should). Sharing how things can go wrong absolutely will help someone else , maybe someone else who also does this will see this and think, wow...that could easily happen, maybe just put into your "routine" that you have a second set of eyes read the emails, or communications on "what is being ordered" . Here's a cool fact. Our eyes will see the same thing over and over , meaning we will read the message the same way - inverted or "flopped" as you said. A quick way to do a proof read if in an email or word document is to select the entire document /page change the font to a different font, increase the font size by 2. Now re-read the same content again. Your eye will now pick up spelling, grammar and things like the inverted or "flopped" way your brain first read which items were to be the dark colour and which were to be white. I recently learned this trick from a copy editor. She said is a very old trick, cheap and efficient. No extra applications necessary to catch the more obvious mistakes. :) I love everything you have done, and wow $100 was a fantastic price for these items. I sold a complete 1930's French provincial dining room set a few years back for $300 Canadians (which is about $230 American)...just could not get rid of it. It was a beautiful set dining table with 2 leaves, 8 chairs, 2 wing back caption chairs and a lovely full size china cabinet, all with original hardware. I hope that someone gave it some TLC and it's still being loved somewhere.
Wow! I like that tip! Thanks for sharing! We have a French Provincial Dining Set as well that I am just not sure what to do either! The table and chairs are just too much to try and redo without the knowing that they would sell! Thanks for watching!
