My essentials for travelling SE Asia: A sweat rag, travel insurance (and you've actually read the policy), tropical strength insect repellant, instant hand sanitiser.
There is literally no need to catch that big ass fan. I've travelled for 2 years straight and I haven't come across a single person carrying that. Most hostels will have AC or a ceiling fan.
what a great video! another tip - I also land up saving up on unnecessary expenses like atm fees etc in South East Asia - using apps like ATM Fee Saver - it helps find atms with no fees or lower fees than others along with withdrawal limits etc. worth adding to your list of tricks!

Nice video. FYI, your international driving permit doesn’t work for scooters or motorbikes unless you already have a motorbike license in the US. Maybe you do, but a lot of people don’t know this, so just wanted to share. Also, you don’t need to carry your Global Entry card to use the service, so you can save the 5 grams there!
Great video, I go very soon and nearly forgot eye mask and ear buds, appreciate it! Would be interested to know what you do for work, how you get time off and what you do with your home etc
I’m 16 and living in Canada BC near Prince George. I have a girlfriend who’s 15 and lives in the UK. I want to go see her seeing as we met online, I’d rather go there then her come here for multiple reasons but the biggest one is that I’d never expect a father to let his daughter travel to another country just for a boy. Instead I’m going there to show both her and her family that I am completely committed to her. My only problem is that I haven’t been able to find how much a trip like that costs. My best guess is between 5,000 and 10,000 Canadian but I honestly don’t know. I’ve tried looking online as best I know how but there’s no sites that have been of any help whatsoever. If someone could reply and offer me a general number to make my goal it would be much appreciated.
Alexander Travelbum would you have any clue as to how much a plane ticket would cost? I’m not looking for anything big like first class, just something that could get me there and back in one piece.
If we go to SE Asia for a couple years, and spend 4-6 months in many countries, I guess we only get the visa for the first one ?...then get the others a couple months before we enter the next ? Thx !
I’m traveling to SE Asia in September and I’ve been and got some extra passport photos. Do you know if I can use the passport photos for a visa or should I go and get some specific visa photos ? Thank you
Everything on the internet says that if you arrive in Vietnam via plane (not through the borders) then you can pick up a visa on arrival there for like 25. Sounds like you got screwed over.
So, I’m not sure how Vietnam visa on arrival works because they have never allowed me to do it. Before I even get on my flight to Vietnam, they make me show them my visa and won’t let me board without one. That’s happened both times. So I couldn’t go to Vietnam to get the one on arrival, they made me get an expedited one online at the airport which cost me $600. I don’t know if this is for Americans or what this is all about. I’d love to know
@@AlexanderTravelbum that's insane-- on the internet there are several sites to get one before hand, but I'm weary to trust them... thanks for your help I'll keep digging.
@@alexandraphlegar6356 when I go to Vietnam I do it usually from Laos, Luang Prabang. There is a Vietnamese Consulate, you get your 3 month Visa in about 3 or 4 days for about 70 Euros. This should be possible from any neighboring country or from any country capital with a Vietnamese Ambassy.
@@AlexanderTravelbum rip my guy, I didn't really understand it and only realised I needed a visa two days before, think I used vietnam immigration .org cost like £15-25 and to get a letter of approval of visa on arrival. thought it was a bit dodgy and wasn't sure if it would work but they checked my letter at the airport and I boarded. Then got visa on arrival in vietnam for like $20 or so
I only go to beaches I can enjoy naked and I had no problems finding plenty, even in Myanmar. So fuck the bathing shit as well as the sun screen. Don't be stupid and go under the sun gradually and the skin will adapt without burning. Just a minimum of good sense is needed and same for allover tanning.
$600?!?! Jesus fucking christ and I felt ripped off paying $50. Bro you should have just cancelled the flight and rebooked after getting a 1 day expedited evisa for $60. Total cost probably like $200 for budget airline + hostel + evisa.
Expedited, under one hour visa processing right before your flight. Yeah, they made me do that or I couldn’t get on the flight. Which is weird because many people are allowed to get visa on arrival
