If you're buying an NVME SSD, think ahead. Most motherboards only have 1-2 M.2 slots for NVME drives. Normally populating both slots disables 2 Sata ports for HDD's/SSD's, or reduces GPU PCIe lanes from 16x to 8x, reducing GPU bandwidth. Meaning if you want to upgrade in the future, you'll have to toss your old drive, or buy a PCIe add-in card to host it. I never buy below 1TB. You'll fill it up quick.

I’ve bought everything I needed for my PC build back in November except the graphics card!!!🤣 thank you so much Matt for the recommendations! Been waiting to pull the trigger on the right one
You’re awesome. I just came looking for keyboard and mouse recommendations and just ended up watching (even though I’ll probably never build my own computer) cause I really appreciate your content and genuineness, thanks!
Would it be worth it to make this exact build with just more RAM and the 3700x or would it make more sense to just go up to the 1500 budget build? Would the results from the upgrade warrant the price?
I am between doing something very similar to this build or a Mac mini m1. I use Adobe premiere and pshop mainly. However I was thinking of getting into final cut with the Mac. I don't really care for Windows 10, but I haven't used a Mac in a long time either. I really appreciate your video, definitely confirmed what I thought I could build for under a grand. If anyone has used this kind of setup and compared it to a Mac mini m1, I'd be real interested to hear their comments or results. I mainly only care about the ease of video editing, I could care less about render times.
@@whoismatt - Thanks for responding! I don't necessarily 'want' to go with FCP, I just want the easiest path to produce videos with the least amount of busy work. I've done photography for years off and on. I'm getting back into it from a long hiatus. Also, I'm doing this on the side, and don't have a lot of time. I can get the mini w/ 16G for 1100. I'd do the PC with a few upgrades.. Rizen 7, 32G, etc. So, I'm just trying to figure out which would be the easiest and quickest to produce videos. I'm even considering going back to Premiere Elements because it's just easier to me than Prem Pro... and the results seem just as good at 1080P for me. I'd like to do 4K soon.
I got my hands on a rtx 3060 elite for retail price and plan on building a pc for video editing. Would the amd Ryzen 7 be a good choice with this card?
Hey Matt, how does the Ryzen 5 2600 compare to the 3600? It is considerably cheaper and I know some who are convinced it's nearly as good. Any advice would be great!
Does anyone have other suggestions for graphics cards? Because i can't seem to find any of the cards mentioned in the video under 400 euros in price on websites which is a bit annoying lmao. Btw great video!
Just started doing research on all the things I’ll need for video editing so go easy on me, will this be sufficient to edit footage for the black magic pocket cinema camera?
Man! You saved me a lot of headache!! 😍 Recently I have built my PC for video editing. I was feeling a bit unsure of my build. I was thinking if the parts I chose were good enough for editing. It’s been over 3 weeks and it's performing great! But still I had confusion. Because I'm not an expert but the parts were chosen by myself after doing some research. After watching this video, my confusions are gone! 👏✌️ Specs; Ryzen 5 3600 MSI B450M Mortar Max Asus Dual RX5500 XT 8G OC 16GB Ram at 3200MHz clock 500GB SSD 700W PSU
I understand that this video and it's pricing is probably aimed at the US market. But the video cards alone blow out the $750 budget for some of us. The Radeon RX570 card is $858, plus $46 shipping using the Amazon link supplied. There is no way I'm going to build a 4K video editing PC for anywhere near the $750 benchmark. (If I change the currency to AUD to suit my region, the card becomes $1199, plus $64.32 for shipping!!!)
Do you have any other suggestions for an upgraded case that can hold 2 x 5.5 Blu Ray burners and still has USB 3.0 and USB C ports that can work with the 750 build parts you recommended?
AMD RX Vega 56 is @ the same performance as an RX 5600 XT in gaming, but is stronger at rendering (any compute task) if you can find one used ($250-350). It's around 70% faster than a 1050TI - ebay is your friend right now. If you want current gen, Nvidia & AMD haven't released the lower end models yet.
heads up the motherboard B450 max doesn't fit the H210 case I've just found out the hard way...😔 I don't know what case size it's meant to be? help me out I'm a noob here
@@whoismatt you are absolutely right I rewatched this again today. the link took me to the h210 case I saved this is in my wish list a while back and forgot.. Is it one SDD efficient enough?
Great tutorial my guy!!!! Thanks for your hard work.
Thank you I was searching this video
I love this video. Thank you man
Thank you for this video!!!
As a stay at home mom trying to build my photography business, I need to upgrade my computer (currently using a 2010 Macbook Pro LOL) but on a budget.
Hi Matt, thanks for the updated post; appreciate it.
I listened to you advice about checking local stores here in Montreal and i found your first recommendation..Asus GEForce GTX 1050TI... on Walmart website..bought it..waiting for delivery to a store nearby....could not be happier to find one. lol
I’ve bought everything I needed for my PC build back in November except the graphics card!!!🤣 thank you so much Matt for the recommendations! Been waiting to pull the trigger on the right one
😁👍 glad to help
Matt you are amazing man!!!! lots of love from Belgium
Amazing video dude, very well put together with all the relevant info even for the less experienced :) huge thumbs up!
How would this perform against the mac m1?
You’re awesome. I just came looking for keyboard and mouse recommendations and just ended up watching (even though I’ll probably never build my own computer) cause I really appreciate your content and genuineness, thanks!
I was thinking about u will make a 4k video editing pc build in 2k21and u did it 🔥. Love from India ❤❤
been waiting for a pc video from u lol, glad its out now
Haha wanted to get it out early for 2021!
I'm using your 2020 build right now!! love it.. followed the build list and build instruction video to a tee!
Me too works GREAT!
How fast was your rendering on editing softwares like premiere ?
If you want to edit in final cut, go with the m1 Mac mini, it’s an incredible value
Hey Matt great video! How will this handle blackmagic 4k raw?
Was wondering the same thing lol
You are great, I am getting this amazing sistem thanks to you!
2600 is still good if you can find it for cheap :)
@@whoismatt how many percent do you think between 2600 and 3600 and also 1700x? thanks!
AWESOME DUDE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS FOR THE VALUABLE INFO
I want build pc plz tell me what i use
Fantastic video, I really appreciate you!
You are the man!!! I ordered everything it came out to $850+ (ssd500) but hey still good
Where did you find the graphics card
Nice video. Thanks!
Does anyone have other suggestions for graphics cards? Because i can't seem to find any of the cards mentioned in the video under 400 euros in price on websites which is a bit annoying lmao. Btw great video!
Question I built this build 3 years ago. Is it possible to just upgrade the cpu to the 9 ? Will I lose anything?
Brother I have a Sony a7siii. I'm on tight budget. Is it good to go?
Just started doing research on all the things I’ll need for video editing so go easy on me, will this be sufficient to edit footage for the black magic pocket cinema camera?
Great beard Matt!
Love this pc build, many thanks.
Thank you for this insight!
Where did y’all find a graphic card for under 750$
So dope Matt thanks for this content
Thank you!
Man! You saved me a lot of headache!! 😍
Recently I have built my PC for video editing.
Specs;
Ryzen 5 3600
MSI B450M Mortar Max
Asus Dual RX5500 XT 8G OC
16GB Ram at 3200MHz clock
500GB SSD
700W PSU
Really solid budget build! Great work
@@whoismatt
Thanks, Matt!
Haha this is exactly my build! I got before i saw this video
GTX 1650 Super, AMD 5 Ryzen 3500, 16gb, SSD 250gb 1TB HD
Hi Mate,
Can you tell me what software do you work with on these components? Does it work well?
@@KamilAF-VideoEditing yes im streaming and editing on premiere pro at the same time and CPU is only at 50%
@@studyou1016 great, thanks a lot. Do you know how does it go with da Vinci?
Thank You Matt!!
As someone who has been on console forever…is this a great jump for gaming as well?
Great videos! Thank you! I really learned a lot. I am building one now.
Thank you for Sharing your knowledge esp. With computers. 👍 it gives Help to many .
Thx Matt i'll buy all these
AMD RX Vega 56 is @ the same performance as an RX 5600 XT in gaming, but is stronger at rendering (any compute task) if you can find one used ($250-350). It's around 70% faster than a 1050TI - ebay is your friend right now. If you want current gen, Nvidia & AMD haven't released the lower end models yet.
heads up the motherboard B450 max doesn't fit the H210 case I've just found out the hard way...😔 I don't know what case size it's meant to be? help me out I'm a noob here
The h210 case is too small. I recommend in the video and linked to the h510 case which is the proper size :)
@@whoismatt you are absolutely right I rewatched this again today. the link took me to the h210 case I saved this is in my wish list a while back and forgot.. I stupidly ordered it a few weeks ago thinking it was the right one. I have arranged a return on Amazon. I maybe able to salvage the build as my old case fits the motherboard and and power supply! I'll keep you posted on how it turns out lol
Thanks for this!
why do you recomend using a smaller ssd for programs and a larger ssd for files?
Hi Matt, can you give me an option for a case on Amazon that can hold 5.5 Blu Ray Players? I am ordering everything on my Amazon account. Thanks.
Thank you Matt for this video...at some point do for laptops also for 2021
Thanks! Planning on it
