Do you not need a stockinette for a waterproof cast? Medicaid doesn’t cover waterproof but I really want one and I’m trying to find the cheapest way to get waterproof for myself. Amazon charges $50 2 small rolls and I’m trying to decide if that’s enough. I saw one video where they used this brand of stockinette but I’m trying to see if it’s necessary
Kkrb1212, thank you very much for viewing and for the Great Question as well. A stockinette is not required at all, the smooth side of the material is designed to rest against the skin. And- Yes, you're totally correct abt the insurance coverage & out of pocket costs. If You do have a waterproof cast applied, I highly recommend the safety tape strip as well. Good Luck & Speedy Recovery, sincerely woodie 🙂👍🏼
@@orthopedicbasicswwoodie1097 thanks for replying. After looking it seems like true orthoneal seems a lot better. Have you worked with that? I can order an ortho neal set from the website but it includes the fiberglass which I don’t need since insurance covers that. I’ve seen Delta dry too but I really think I want ortho neal. I’ve messaged ortho tape to see if they’d sell ortho neal without the fiberglass but waiting to hear back. I’d love to hear your experience with orthoneal!
@@kkrb1212 .., I have also heard of & seen some samples of the orthoneal products. Unfortunately I have not rolled any casts with that type of liner yet. (Only because it hasn't been asked of me or supplied to me to do so) However- it does appear to be a good product & well made w/good research that accompanies it. I have rolled casts w/delta dry liner in the past, but not recently. Sorry couldn't provide more 1st hand info about the orthoneal liner, good luck either way, woodie 👍🏼
