Thanks for talking about these grifters. I just found out my step mom has cancer and, unfortunately, she's more likely to treat it with essential oils and spiritual healers than she is to step foot in a hospital. These people have blood on their hands and will never see justice for it.
I live in Washington and I'm a massage therapist and I've encountered so many people over the years who have bought into the idea that Young Living is the finest quality oils available. Because it came from here it's not just conservative Christians. I've known for a long time that was bunk, but only learned about the horrors of Gary Young more recently. I'm surprised this is not more known.
To her credit, Mary Young is a very smart woman, a very strategic business owner. There is no way she did not know the number of distributors or the amount of oils grown on the farms, etc. She knew exactly what she was doing in that court room, under oath.
I deal with sales (ground level sales, feed business for farmers) and I know exactly the time we start/started buying more grain from somewhere else than Finland since that is what we also talk with our customers. We know how to dig the info needed and we know what changes were made or had come to our products. CEO telling that they are not aware of how much they produce themselves for 3 years is bullocks 💩 All they really needed to do was to drive information into Excel.... Same goes to how many distriputers they had. Seriously these people 🙄
I love how you two tied in the correlation of YL being its own religion, Gary claiming it was all of god. When I was in YL, I always got this megalomaniac vibe from him. Not that doTERRA is any better, and hopefully they implode the way YL is, as well as the LDS church. They have all caused so much damage emotionally, spiritually, financially and more. I am still in Recovery, but it's better than still being with any of them, Thanks to you both for your honest, in-depth videos that showed me the truth of the indoctrination, which helped me have the courage to walk away from dT. They actually recently announced that they are closing the Brazil market. The China market and Russia market were previously closed. They made a statement saying they are not closing the Columbia market, however; in that same statement they said they never had a market in China…which is a lie…so you know… There are also rumors that they will be closing 8 more markets.

I've only watched the first clip of the CEO but the way she's behaving, if I saw a biopic and that was the performance an actor gave, I would think it was a blatant character assassination

It's a company, founded by someone who was raised LDS, founded and run in Utah, that explicitly ties its message and marketing to faith, and yet a lot of both Mormons and people who don't consider Mormons to be Christians were eager to be a part of it. You'd think that the religious marketing could appeal to, at most, one of those two groups. I have a brother in law who used to work for them (in their corporate offices, not as a distributor--he was paid a salary). Thanks to your video, I have some questions for him about his former employer the next time I see him.

I really can't understand how people can believe in those magical properties of essential oils... Unless I see a peer reviewed scientific paper, I will not believe in anything beyond antibacterial or moisturising properties (because I'm a chemistry PhD and can understand a chemical composition) and relaxin properties (everyone likes a nice smell). P.S. English name for those oils is so deceptive... In Polish it's "etheric oils", meaning they are volatile and smell.

My Mom got into this when she was really sick with a brain tumor she tried to pull me in but I was very poor with 2 kids, didn't have the money to invest, and did a quick Google search and found out they really couldn't back up their claims. My Mom fought with me about it for months, during one of the last years of her life, and finally just bought me the introductory kit anyway and signed me up. When she died, Young Living kept contacting us about her account, like in never computed fir a year that she was deceased. It was just one nightmare on top of a already really hard time, she spent hundreds of dollars on oils trying to cure herself. It was so brutal to watch. 😢 Thanks y'all, I can't even begin to describe how cathartic this is.😢
I have a prosthetic leg, and though it is not actually made of wood I still use it for getting luck by knocking in it, as it sees to be as effective as real wood. I suppose this comes from the fact that prosthetic legs were traditionally made from wood. I'm not sure. I think the effectiveness of oils from Wal Mart and oils from Young living are for the same reason.

we were told rashes were from toxins the oils were pulling out of the body, and thus were a good sign... same with headaches looking back I really did think of them as having magical powers (though I didn't use those words), like "they know where they are needed in the body" and just in general visualizing them infusing my body with some kind of health vibe lol... now my apartment is full of enough essential oils for a small army... oh well at least most of them smell nice

Great video btw! I grew up with highschool friends being dragged into Young Living with their parents and it's definitely a cookoo cult. I also have parents and family who are into a similar MLM called Melaleuca. It's basically a "more private" Young Living in a different flavor. Still cookoo. 😂

Also - he went by D Gary Young because his first name started with "D" - in all that I've seen and read, I've never been led to believe that he was a doctor - nor did I ever have anyone say he was. I've never heard anyone say that he posed as a doctor...so I'm not sure where this is coming from. I guess some folks may have assumed...but again, not everyone has. I certainly didn't.
At the time I was introduced to YL, around 2013-2014, people DEFINITELY believed he was a doctor. I mean, even in the transcripts it’s mentioned that he told people he was a doctor. Did you watch the whole video?
I am currently a YL distributor (but am having my doubts based on experiences of others). I appreciate the provision of these transcripts because it helps me in my research in whether or not I will remain with YL (probably not) - but not everyone who joins YL is a radical, extremely political or religious zealot - I do have my religious beliefs that do align with using plants and natural products to aid in health and healing - but I also realize that people are people and I do not wholesale believe that someone is a deity because they say something I can believe. To point out the inaccuracies and the hypocrisies with the testimonies and the 'standard company line' is fine...but to make comments about people who have valid reasons for believing in the oils - is not. I am doing my own research, and using your reading of the transcripts as an aid, to make my own decision.

Also - he went by D Gary Young because his first name started with "D" - in all that I've seen and read, I've never been led to believe that he was a doctor - nor did I ever have anyone say he was. I've never heard anyone say that he posed as a doctor...so I'm not sure where this is coming from. I guess some folks may have assumed...but again, not everyone has. I certainly didn't.
At the time I was introduced to YL, around 2013-2014, people DEFINITELY believed he was a doctor. I mean, even in the transcripts it’s mentioned that he told people he was a doctor. Did you watch the whole video?

I am currently a YL distributor (but am having my doubts based on experiences of others). I appreciate the provision of these transcripts because it helps me in my research in whether or not I will remain with YL (probably not) - but not everyone who joins YL is a radical, extremely political or religious zealot - I do have my religious beliefs that do align with using plants and natural products to aid in health and healing - but I also realize that people are people and I do not wholesale believe that someone is a deity because they say something I can believe. To point out the inaccuracies and the hypocrisies with the testimonies and the 'standard company line' is fine...but to make comments about people who have valid reasons for believing in the oils - is not. I am doing my own research, and using your reading of the transcripts as an aid, to make my own decision.
