The Chargers needs: WR (huge cap numbers to Allen and Williams), T, DE (huge cap numbers to Mack and Bosa), CB. Throw in TE too. You have all those needs still on the board at 15. Trading back for them makes too much sense.
I hope the chargers don’t give up the #5 for just a2nd and 4th. Especially to 9 where we’d miss out on all 3 receivers and can’t guarantee either bowers or Alt. I’d go to 8 for that but not 9, to go there i want a 2025 1st
absolutely asinine take on the bears trading up to get odunze when he'll liekly will be there at 9 and if not they have nabors sitting there who is ranked by many as the top wr in the class...dude thinks all 3 MHJ, nabors, odunze all go before pick 9...MHJ is the top wr in this class, hes the top wr in any class, thats how good he is as a prospect. there is zero chance MHJ isnt the first wr off the board.... the idea that many gms have odunze as #1 is complete smoke screen.theres a ton of blue chip prospects in the top 10, trading up from 9 for anything but MHJ would be the most novice gm move ever. ..with 3 qbs going 1,2,3, and maybe jj mccarthy going 7ish, thats 4 players, theres at least 2 blue chip OT, then theres MHJ, odunze, and nabors....imo theres very little chance all 3 wrs go in the top 8, its pretty simple math so the bears trading up from 9 to pick 5 or something for odunze would be pure GM malpractice
Arizona: MHJ NYG: Nabers if they don't take JJ or trade up for one of the top 3 LAC: Nabers, Alt, Bowers all in play there at #5 Ten: Tackle or Odunze in play there there's a good chance they're all gone by 9 or maybe Odunze is left but I doubt Nabers is and MHJ certainly won't be.

I don't know why Giants fans would be upset with you. I'm a neighbors would be a very very good pick, And they shouldn't expect there to be a QB at that spot. I would be comfortable with McCarthy but it's a bit of a reach and would seem a bit of a desperation pic and have mirrors of Daniel Jones and the New York press and the fans will kill them even if it works out they'll kill be killed for 2 years until it does. They need to get a quarterback they need to have a plan to get one in this preferably in the second round or trade back up in the first. Or they could trade out of the six pic pick up some pieces and draft a quarterback at a lower position. But as you said McCarthy is not going to stick around and I think he's the most likely quarterback for the Giants to go after later in the first round. They could draft up in the bottom of the first round and take pennakes if they don't think he's going to drop. (Just got to love voice recognition)
The point of trading down last year was to stock up picks in case they needed to trade up for their franchise QB this year. He doesn't want to build another version of the Titans, with pro bowler RB Henry, Pro Bowl WR AJ Brown, a strong defense and OL... But never doing anything because they don't have a QB 🤦♂️ Meanwhile a top rookie QB took a 5 win 2023 Texans roster to the playoffs
I stopped watching the NFL for almost a decade & there are so many things that inexplicably the same. One is that Vikings ownership just doesn't seem to care if their teams win. They're always about 2 players away from being champs & they never get them. This year it's like this: they have JJ. They arranged the offense so Cousins can do what he does best, throw to the route. They even got Addison who also runs them well. Then they decide not to sign Cousins who wants to be there *_before_* securing a replacement QB. Because... Why? What _IS_ the thinking? Here's what I think they should do: not trade up for a QB, not hope for JJ McCarthy. Get Fields. This is the only team that needs a QB like him that can do anything with him. Do I _need_ to go through why all the negative talk about him is BS? We just saw how only play-calling changed super-bowl contenders into a laughing stock, the Eagles. Just Brian Flores as a DC play-caller took The Worst Defense in the NFL to 16th, mid after losing their top-2 defensive players. Well? Who cancelled the plays that made *the **_BEARS_* the #1 offense for 3 straight weeks _BEFORE_ they acquired D.J. Moore. Also, I can link stats proving he's amazing under pressure & when passing to Cole Kmet & D.J. Moore. The Vikings have Addison, Jefferson _AND_ Hockenson! Plus KOC is _excellent_ at working *with* a QB's strengths. & they can get him for what, a 3rd-rounder? Throw in a conditional 4th for next season & voilà! What else do the Vikings need that they can't draft without trading away their future or get in free agency? As for Russ, well... if he doesn't sign with the Steelers, then by all means. Everything applies to him too providing he still can play. JJ can get open deep down the sidelines where Russ is at his best. Just give up passing to the middle of the field & he's great. Everything else we can think of would cost them _WAY_ more.
Having a QB sit for a year or more is an underrated model for QB development. Teams are scared of losing out on the rookie wages, but development should be paramount. Robert mentions Mahomes and Love, kudos for mentioning the developmental model period, but also not to forget Aaron Rodgers, Carson Palmer, and while not a 1st rounder , The Goat Thomas Brady. I think it's a brilliant idea, and if the Vikings or whomever decides to take a chance on McCarthy, I hope they have a Vet like Cousins or Brissett to mentor him. If that happens I would like to think he could be Josh Allen Lite.
I love this time of year. I have heard Elliot Wolf believes in taking a QB every year that one is available, just like his father did with Green Bay, so he will make getting a quarterback a priority. You are saying Elliot Wolf wants to prioritize building the roster because that's how they do it in Green Bay, so he won't be taking a quarterback high. I have heard that Elliot Wolf is a big cheese guy, so he won't be drafting any players that are lactose intolerant. The nonsense I said is just as accurate and informed as your take.
Chris Simms just dropped a bomb 2024 QB prospect ranking a few hours ago, which goes into pretty painstaking detail on why he has ranked QBs where he has. He has Drake Maye as his #6 QB (!), and broke it down in such a way that I don't know why almost everyone else has been so content to keep him at #2, without argument. Will his Uber Breakdown shake up the QB narratives and assumptions on rankings in the scouting content community? I know Nate Tice has Maye as his #1, so somebody's gotta be way off, no? Anyway, love the pod, as always!
The argument that the patriots are not one rookie qb away to win is the dumbest argument I have ever heard. The argument should be if they believe in the qb take him, if not trade back. The whole the supporting cast thing is stupid, get a qb and build around him like the bengals
