McVay and the offense did the hard work in the first half, thenbsat back and let the defense handle ( continue to handle ) the Vikings in the second half.
Stafgord continued to NOT be intercepted, while Darnold allowed himself to be sacked 9 times.

Wow. I'm a regular listener and i 100% respect Robert's football intelligence. Idk if he got that info from a source or if he really noticed it live. About the Vikings tendencies vs Under Center as opposed to Shotgun. But that's really good stuff. That's the type of "inside baseball" I'm looking for. Teams no doubt have "Dot checks" built into their defense. I don't think using them vs a McVay lead offense is the choice id make but that's an excellent piece of analysis by Mays... Now Derrick. He hit a key point about all the Sacks Darnold was taking. Games like this are interesting. K.O.C worked under McVay. Runs a similar offense let's say. Shula knows this offense very well. And he knows what gives this offenses fits. The Sack Fumble TD was a play where the CB and Nickel blitzed off each edge. Looked like a Sim live but i can't remember. That's how you attack these offenses that are condensed all the time

K.O.C historically does not utilize the run game. Even during the Rams Superbowl season the run game was a liability. I was happy when he left. Coming from Matt LaFleur to him McVay realized the same and hire Mike LaFleur. Having Scott Frost and Sean Desai on staff has been nothing but positive. McVays eye for coaching talent is impeccable.

My favorite part of this game is all the people saying "The Lions gave the Rams the blueprint on how to beat the Vikings" when really they should find a quieter way to tell on themselves for not being able to read a gameplan

The Vikings should not and will not bring back Darnold, for the sake of McCarthy's development. To not show faith in JJ would undermine his confidence and risk locker room division.
Add in what you can do with the cap space, and it's an obvious decision.

They have to bring in *somebody*. McCarthy missed his whole redshirt year with injury

The Lions against the rest of the NFL: 14-0
The Lions against the Lions and Rams: 0-4
    Crazy league.

Best analysis of the team building situation
Baker deal or franchise tag doesn’t make financial sense
The Vikings have not hit on draft picks and do not have enough plus starters on rookie deals like teams like the lions, packers, eagles just to talk about nfc
Look at their drafts from the last couple years guys…. They are not good
