The first time I read the bible through I was absolutely floored by this passage. I had never read it or even heard of it. I felt wonder and a little shiver of horror at the same time. All things serve His purposes.

[ex-mo here] When Joseph Smith launches his religion with the foundational premises of: A) "All Christian churches are an abomination", B) "There was a complete and total apostacy upon the death of the last Apostle" C) "God the Father and Jesus appears to him as two separate beings - well you've nullified any chance that he's a "prophet' sent from God. Add to that, that none of the exclusively mormon doctrine not only can't be supported by the bible but it is mostly contra-biblical well, you can only attribute that to one source - and it ain't God.

Weird, eternal marriage is biblical and the teaching that is isn't is in fact non biblical
Which faith teaches the idea of eternal marriage? Which one has to use a verse out of context to claim it isn't?... you know, the verse where Jesus is confronted by non believing Sadducees and they give a hypothetical example and he tells them the truth that they "are not given in marriage and they're are no new marriages and will be as angels".... because they've all been married by earthly authority, not by the power of God.
Care to explain why your evangelical protestant catholics teach that eternal marriage is not biblical when the Bible clearly teaches that it is intended to be eternal when ordained by the power of God?

@@C.anthony80 Ladies and Gentleman may I present exhibit 'A' above^. This response is self-sabotaging. He simply adds on to a biblical verse a claim that in fact does NOT follow the verse of Jesus' words. Jesus did not add the caveat this mormon did. So many logical fallacies. What a mess.

@mongo4utube you are trying really hard. Can you answer the question that I asked in response to your first and now second claim.
I'll give you another go. You say what we teach is not found anywhere in the Bible.
The principle of eternal marriage is, in fact, biblical. Why do you teach against it and then say we teach unbiblical teachings.
Answer the question, does God ordain eternal marriage?
And I did not add one caveat, I explained the context of the very single solo story of Jesus speaking to Sadducees.... the one story that your people ignore and only use 8 words or so to say "see, eternal marriage is not biblical"

    • @BellDavidE
      @BellDavidE 4 місяці тому

@@C.anthony80 It looks like part of this conversation is missing, but I am curious about the claim that eternal marriage is biblical. Can you elaborate?

    • @C.anthony80
      @C.anthony80 4 місяці тому +1

@BellDavidE very easy.... people use Jesus' conversation with the Sadducees whom brought forth a hypothetical example..... so, theologically protestants, evangelicals, catholics all teach that Jesus taught against it.
The fact is, no. Jesus did not teach against it. He taught correctly, the Sadducees did not hold the priesthood, they rejected the resurrection. Therefore, the Sadducees were not given in marriage before or during the resurrection. We agree with this verse that gets used. We agree with the context of the story, we don't agree with taking a few words and applying it to contradict an ordinance that God did ordain.
I shouldn't have to go this far out to explain this but I have to before someone drops the same story told 3 times to apostates who did not believe.
The biblical fact is that eternal marriage is taught in the very beginning. The fact that God ordained a marriage between Adam and Eve in the eternal garden should be enough contextual evidence to know his intent for the day that he returns the earth to the glory of before the fall..... but no, protestants take a few words of Jesus to non believers to support a pagan belief and reject a straight forward act by God.... it's literally the first act by God between man and woman. He married them in the garden, for time and all eternity. Unless you believe they would have died in the garden without eating from the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The Bible teaches they were to live as husband and wife for eternity. Surely you believe that God will return the earth to that glory. If you do, then how can you believe that he won't restore the first covenant that he ordained between man and woman with the intent for eternal companionship?

Read your Bible* every day (if possible several times during each day) to know what God is saying/has said. If anyone at all says anything “godly” to you that you aren’t sure is correct, check your Bible. If it’s not plainly in your Bible disregard it. In the last few weeks I’ve looked up several concepts/doctrines that are commonly accepted in our “churchiosity”. Many aren’t in the Bible at all. No hints though; do your research. *But not cult Bibles: Bibles that are translated/written/published by one specific denomination/church/group, or with study helps by one of these. God bless - Genesis 1:1, John 3:16.

I will start with my answer to my question as to why do people worship God.
I worship God because I believe he will save all people who even have a mustard seed of faith in him. This includes the Mormons. This includes people who do not have correct theology but are learning and growing in their love for God and all mankind.
I trust God will work to save most of mankind. Because mankind is his creation, he loves them and he will make up the difference in their flaws, including the flaw of incorrect knowledge. He is powerful enough to do this. That work will continue in the next life if people are wiling to have God continue it in them. And Mormons are willing. Dont you see it?
Why do you worship God??? this is a discussion for all people to answer.
    And go.....

If the teachings of a modern prophet are fallible, and if modern prophets trump former prophets, then why would the prophet’s instruction carry any more weight than your own interpretation of Scripture?
Jesus has left his truth in the Bible. The essentials of the gospel are clear. HE will lead people to Himself, as He is our final prophet. We do not need a modern earthly prophet.

It is easy to be misled by false prophets.
Paula White is a false prophet, and people follow her.
Kenneth Copeland is a false prophet, and people follow him.
Jesus said to his disciples, let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

If the people of God don't want to be led astray, follow Jesus.
Jesus said to the people, my sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

He simply said some evidences that Prophet Joseph Smith was a false prophet and all the Presidents of the Church, well those evidences that he said are just minor ways or GLM ways that they think its true..
I was told to read the bible as if i never did before but it came to a lot of realizations that it always points to Jesus and His Church, like many prophets in Old Testament and Apostles in the New Testament who always proclaim about the salvation of man and many others.. In the Old Testament, the Spirit of God did not dwell within us. Therefore, we could only hear from God through His voice, giving us directions as a prophet or a king or a servant of any kind.
After Jesus died on the cross for our sins and once we are saved, the Holy Spirit moves in and resides within us thus forever changing the relationship between men and God. We have Jesus and the Holy Spirit of God lives inside us.
You have obviously not received the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and I would venture to say that you do not believe in it as represented at Pentecost being still available today.
The old testament did not have Jesus. When you try to conflate old Testament communications from God and new testament communications through the Holy Spirit, you ignore the changes or misunderstand them completely.
His sheep hear His voice and they follow Him. You will not find that anywhere in the old Testament. I am also going to guess that you are a cessationist. This is the very reason you conflate the Old Testament revelations of God with the New Testament revelations of God. You ignore the sovereign Spirit of God and limit the revelations received from the thoughts of God. So what you need to learn is that once the Holy Spirit moves inside you, you are able to know the thoughts of God. And if God chooses to give you revelation through his own thoughts, and you prophesy through visions or dreams or the like, no man on earth can say otherwise.
The truth is only revealed when you test the spirits behind the word. There is no way to test spirits outside of the ability given to you to do so by the Holy Spirit himself. The discerning of spirits is only given to those who have received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. No others have the ability to test any spirits at all.
