People need to realise that these guys created something fresh, then.Something new. It wasn't 1 open world, it was multiple ones.It was a level based game, but every level was a sandbox, it's beautiful ,i haven't seen a game do that, since then, to be honest.
Leo all 3 games were amazing in the ps2 era for sure, highly under appreciated and sad that it’s only a cult following. My favorite was Sly 4 but that was with low expectations as I played the trilogy and heard bad things about 4 but, I loved it on my own accord.
I’ve Tried To Access The Sly Cooper 2 Commercial And Behind The Scenes Of Sly Cooper 2 On Sly Cooper 2 Band Of Thieves On Sly Collection But It Takes Me Back To Episode Select Screen As Well!
He’s had a gaming podcast (that he host with his friend Justin Worsham, who’s a comedian) for ten years that I stated listening to in 2011 when the 4th game was announced and hearing him talk normally without sounding like he’s voicing his character is pretty cool
2:27 When I first watched this as a kid I LOVED the look of these illustrations and tried to recreate them (and failed). Now, watching this as an adult illustrator I realize that it was the first time I had ever seen the line of action at work. It's like it was foreshadowing lol
100 percent mate, twas something magical... ps2 and sly cooper series is just hand in hand, if you had a ps2 back then and didn't play sly then you weren't gaming right buddy 😅
The instant I heard Nate Fox’s voice in the Ghost of Tsushima gameplay, I thought back to this. Been replaying the sly games quite a bit recently and seeing SP’s new ip with Fox directing it called me back.
The Sly Cooper series was a big part of my childhood and still holds up today. I played the games in reverse order (3 first then 2 then 1) and enjoyed them a lot. The first game was a great platformer and a lot of fun. The 2nd and 3rd games (they tie for favorite) were masterpieces with characters and story that was as memorable as the game play itself (if not more so). I admit I dislike the disguise mechanic in 3 (my HD run of that game hasn't gotten past the Venice level because of that) but otherwise it ruled. 'Thieves in Time' was decent (it was good but not close to the original trilogy) but not worth the long wait. I thought several things worked (I liked Toothpick and the ancestors a lot) but a lot of opportunities were wasted. The bosses were gimmicky and not as fun as the previous games. The abundance of checkpoints and mini-game missions also seemed rather pandering. I felt they could have added another level with another ancestor and villain (the game lacked content despite having more disc space). La Paradox wasn't main villain material (in my opinion he seemed more fitted for a second-in-command) and his boss fight was way too easy (a simple quick time event in contrast to the really difficult final bosses of the trilogy). I also think the final battle/mission could have been much more climatic and creative (La Paradox had a freaking time machine). He could've brought back Sly's greatest enemies and you'd have to fight them either at once or as a boss rush. Not a bad game but could've been much better.
Watching this video after unlocking it as a kid made me realize that my favorite video games were made by a team of people. Here I am 20 years later, working in the industry. Thanks Sucker Punch, I'll never forget this one
zelda, mario, sonic, final fantasy, spyro, crash, Grand theft auto, bioshock, uncharted and the big 2 fellas jak and ratchet... none of them had what sly cooper brought to sony computer entertainment, sure sales may say one thing but you tell me what game had ninja spire jumps and ropes lad? haha nah but really it's the fans, we're dedicated more to this then any other fan and their franchise/brand... nate fox is a legend m8.
This was the best game, the third game was rushed and gimmicky because the PS3 was going to be released and Sony wanted to make as much money as possible, it was still a decent game but not as strong as the second game. The most recent Sanzaru game was so bad, the story, the level design. The game did not have a complex intricate mission layout like in the original trilogy. The new game just made more mini games, what a disappointment.
True, the only level in 4 that even remotely seemed to give off the original trilogies' vibe was the western one. Even then it was a ways off. I just wish Sucker Punch hadnt handed the series off to a different company.
Sanzaru really tried with sly 4 you could tell they cared by how excited they were in interviews. But it doesn't help when they were left with a time travel plot
Julker S highly disagree, I prefer 1, 3, and 4 over 2 fun fact 2 was the hardest fro me to beat, and I loved the story don’t get me wrong, but the game dragged on WAY too long lol I got to Canada after 3 years of struggling in the Gothic crypt... oh man what a pain that was! I did NOT want to make that my least favorite, I WANTED to hate Sly 4 but I am not of popular opinion I am a man of my own opinion. But I can see why it’s regarded the best.
Cameron Houghton it is my favorite just for how much smoother it was to play, the cartoon cutscenes are just inspirational as I am an animator and trying to learn new tricks everyday.
I'm convinced the concept was to use SNL characters for sly Cooper. Murray is Chris Farley, Bentley is Harry Carey/Will Ferrell. I don't know if sly could be based on one, but since he's the main character full of charisma, they probably kept him more serious. But as for Bentley and Murray those are 100% Chris Farley and Harry Carey to me lol..
I don't care who made sly I love all the games and I'm gonna love the movie I don't care how bad it is I will love it no matter what sly is my childhood
At the main menu, go over episode 7 but don't start it up. Don't even press X to get into it. Wait their until you see a badge in the lower left corner telling you to press square. Once you see that, press the square button, and the bonus video will play :)

dear lord the parts with the voice actors were hilarious
especially Bentley lol

@@KenBonervanie Honestly I think he's one of the best actors in the cast.
It's so cool to see the voice actors at work, especially Gloria Manon. Never realized how perfect Contessa's voice was.
"It's tough being this tough."
This game had the best quotes, seriously.
Is the guy who plays the voice of Murray wearing an
Oakland Raiders cap?
feels so weird hearing Kevin Miller talk normally because I can imagine sly saying all those things

If this isn’t the most beautiful game during the ps2 era, I do not know what is.

Before this I had no idea that Olsen and Murphy had any internet presence whatsoever, it was good to see them
Chris Murphy doesn’t have much of one. But he’s semi active. Also the voice of Murray is his only acting credit.
These guys are my heroes. I lost count on how many times I watched this video back in 2004
Bentlys voice actor is so awesome man
This is when voices were iconic
Finally after all those years I get to see the voice actor for Bentley, he has the best nerd voice ever:)

Holy frick! I forgot how great the voice acting was for this
Sly cooper has such a special place in my heart ❤️ huge part of my childhood still enjoy playing the series at 23!

One of my favorites next to jak 2. I feel like I'm 11 again

Who else was hoping to see Dimitri's voice actor say something in his voice? >__

RIP Gloria Manon :(
Fun Fact she was the wife from willy Wonka and the chocolate factory who's husband was kidnapped for ransom of Wonka bars
Sly 2 is the greatest game of all time

I loved how this was in the game I would always watch it as a kid. I wish there was an animated series in that style they do in the cutscenes.
