Your approach is in love and that is honorable. The biggest problem with IHOPKC is the doctrines they embrace. Mysticism…that isn’t taught in the NT. Upon that all kinds of abuse and damage occurs. Misty should come clean, yes. She should also get a good bible teacher and seek the Lord without all the practices used at IHOPKC. And yes, own her part turn around….apologize
I had no idea Isaac preached that - thanks for sharing. Friends are following what he says - it's hard. Appreciate you continuing to call things out. I thought of you when word on misty and kp and the secret came out. She may have been very genuine in that talk about not wanting to share over and over - obviously there was mixture there. Praying she can find freedom to bring all into the light.
The Baptist church I grew up in had a monthly business meeting, where the congregation was provided with a breakdown of income and expenses. I don't understand why they don't all do this, and why the people don't demand it.
The Anglican Church I went to made clear every cent that came in and went out and went through the finances as a church every year in a meeting, and gave spread sheets to every member. I agree that those who give need to know to what and to whom they are giving. It's part of our stewardship of what God has given us.
Well, you named a lot of the greatest false-teachers of our time. You are correct, tithing has been twisted to become a profit-center for usually unbiblical churches. When a man follows a false gospel you do not need to worry about "criticizing a brother" because he is not one. You are young man, do not let this get to you. I'm old now and seen this all my life, nothing is NEW under the sun. We always have to have strong biblical doctrine or we fall whim to every silly idea of men. Blessings John!
For godly grief and pain God is permitted to direct, produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil and it never brings regret; but worldly grief (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world) is deadly [breeding and ending in death] 2 Corinthians 7:10 Amplified Bible classic edition
You're right John. Mike Bickle is not now, nor has he ever been, nor will he ever be repentant for his blasphemous lies and sexual sins. He is a Wolf in Sheep's clothing. You cannot forgive someone when they truly don't believe they have done anything wrong. Bickle believes, as a sociopath would, that he is special and God love him in so specially that God gives him "special" favors and grace while others must pay every last farthing before them can be forgiving for the least sin. But Wolves can only be what God created them to be.
I joined a “reformed” church - Evangelical Presbyterian - conservative. Every year there is a detailed business meeting with detailed information about exactly where it goes. Very refreshing. One church that was more vineyard style - they would flash the information up on the overhead and you could not even see the details. No handouts and someone just did a general overview.
@John, I'm sorry for what I said in response to a previous video of yours. At that time I honestly thought Misty was a godly woman with a lifestyle of deep consecration. That was before this devastating news came out. I sense the heart of God in your words. There is a gentleness, a graciousness towards the sinner, without justifying Misty or others, but holding her to the same standard. Thanks, I don't see that response elsewhere. I think that we (the larger community, not talking about you) have a tendency to want to find a perpetrator and a victim, and then make the 'victim' blameless and helpless. I think we need to be careful with that. It is very clear from Scripture, that Misty has been a victim, she's been enslaved, mistreated, violated, etc., but the battle is not against flesh and blood! The perpetrator is not (mainly) Kevin, but Satan--Kevin is a slave of sin as well! Most Christians who call Kevin the perp and Misty the victim don't say a thing about the spiritual war, and they've misplaced the enemy! If we continue fighting the wrong battle then we, the church, will NEVER WIN this battle against sin!
That's no problem at all brother 🤝We're all figuring this out. I had forgotten, but thank you for sharing that. I realize emotions have been high. I do pray for Misty. This is hard 😔
Totally true on this victim- perpetrator binary being misinformed, reality is rarely that simple. Misty was easily more powerful and influencial and went against Mikes wishes and broke up his sisters marriage, Kevin was a total washup hasbeen
A yearly budget meeting with members voting to approve the budget is what I've always known. But with IHOPKC and the 60 or so LLCs registered to the GPR address, who knows what's going on.
Liking your comments on forgiveness. The guy seems to confuse the definition of forgiveness and simple trust. We always forgive (should). Wanting to see the fruit of repentance is to reconcile, trust again, assure safe boundaries etc. These leaders love to accuse people of unforgiveness when it is many times not that at all.
If a person has the lack of character & faith to live that double life - why do we expect them to suddenly have the character to be humble & publicly confess? They don't have it. We just don't want to see it. We hang on till our fingers slip and we too fall to a level.
The church I grew up in when I was a kid published 2 things annually. The list of donors and the amount given by numbered envelope donations (which is admittedly very rare) but it was possible to donate anonymously . The 2nd was a list of where the money went with the highest amount first. The "Tithe" is not only old covenant. It's agricultural only but in some cases money could be exchanged for a crop and brought to the storehouse. There were people doing business and trading with each other when the people were in the wilderness with Moses, we see these disputes coming up before appointed judges. There was NO! command to tithe out of business money. There was and still is "free will" giving. The only way to hold to a strict 10 percent tithe is to hold to a very loose and sloppy hermetic and if they do that they're now hypocrites if they try to be strict literalists in anything else they teach.
2012 or 2013 i battled tithing at ihop; a force would not let me GIVE, huge battle had to force myself, took days like a leaden oppression. The second time, 2014 i wrote a second check and could not mail it. I still have it. Now I know why. Gods still small voice is small: why doesnt god just TELL people about victims, misty whatever? Of course this god lets king Solomon have 700/300 (wives, concubines). I leave this problem to Abba, He likes" delay (mystery?) Sheesh
John, this post was from a place very deep within you. A place of deep disappointment that feels like the worst kind of betrayal of truth and trust. It’s left us all asking is anything genuine, true and real anymore. Perhaps it’s a shaking that’s way overdue. Gone are the days of hero worship. Now each of us must seek Jesus for ourselves, no more middle man religion. We are now at the place of, “and they all shall be taught of God,” and we have an unction from the Holy One. No longer will a man say know the Lord, for all shall know me from the least to the greatest. I true think we are in the process of being gathered together under His wings. He is shaking heaven and earth for our good.
Every church had to be completely transparent with their finances. Most churches choose to go over them at annual “business meetings.” They are required to do this by law. BECAUSE THEY ARE REGISTERED CORPORATIONS. Also “membership” is about being a member of the corporations not the church of God. Members of corporations have certain rights including knowing the finances of the church. Our current church systems are partnerships with the government. Which is why churches have lost their power and effectiveness.
Unfortunately, most church financial reports are merely a few superficial figures that do nothing in the way of showing true transparency. How much money your church made at a fundraiser is irrelevant if you don’t get to see exactly how it was spent. [Also] most church financial reports don’t include the pastor’s salary 🤷♂
@@wordsoflife42 if you’re a “member” of a church you most certainly have a right to know most of that info. In fact in some places you can just look up this information as it must be made available publicly.
In some cases, members may have a right under state law to receive the pastor’s “books and records” after reasonable written notice is given, and whether “books and records” includes the disclosure of individual salaries, which will be determined by the specific purpose of the request. We do know this; No local, state, or federal statute requires church employee salaries to be disclosed to the public or to the church membership. I don't find "church membership" biblical, but even so, it's not required for "members." I respect if you are giving at a church somewhere and take account of how that money is spent and the church is transparent on all that, but it's not a "right to know" by law and many churches are not transparent 🤷♂
@@wordsoflife42 my stance is 501c corporations are not churches. Not to say they can’t do good but they have made a covenant with the government first. As far as records I’m not sure of individual state laws. I’m in Canada. But we have the same system. “Churches” are like most tax exempt organizations. I do think that like you said many churches do not openly provide the info. The churches I attended always had a business meeting where all financials were disclosed. But again state to state I’m not sure of the requirements. But they are available it just may require jumping through some hoops.
@@wordsoflife42 just looked it up. In the states Churches are actually treated differently than other 501c corporations and are the only ones who don’t have to report income… this explains a lot… I’m shocked.
Dream on. You're wasting your breath. You need to here from Mike Bickle. Misty Edwards has already spoken. You know them by their FRUITS, not my their music.
In the early 80s …this stuff started to pick up. The desire for “experiences” exploded and people started looking in every religion or doctrine for new experiences…mixing eastern mysticism with new age with catholic mysticism. I say read the bible, seek God and preach the Gospel. We don’t need new gimmicks. Stay in the bible. Follow Jesus and the teaching of the Apostles.

I was at IHOP all of my teens and most of my 20’s. I am very saddened by all of this. And I agree 100% with you
Powerful ending and on point. Her story is the saddest. The article did not do Justice to her or other complicated victims.
Well said!BRAVO and to add are they Shepherding or Herding for personal gain!

Same - budget is voted on each year too - with all members having a vote
They don’t want accountability it’s a free for all with these people
God bless you John.....miss your videos
Yea...Misty was a gut punch. Listened to her "Baptize my heart" after the news came out and it all just felt eerie and sobering and sad.

My Grandpa was part of an Anglican Church. Bless you friend 🙏
Bless you!@@wordsoflife42
If, BIG IF, she tells her story it will bring so much more to those who don’t want to believe the truth.
Amen!!! Keep speaking truth.

??

please give 3 examples ? you generalize and throw a broad net over a whole church , with no examples ,,, give me 3 reasons with evidence
This dude always reminds me of a more handsome version of druggie from clueless 😁
He’s very thoughtful….genuinely sincere. Pretty rare these days
