- Driving Automobilista 2 and Assetto Corsa Competizione for my video content was time to jump back on iRacing and begin my first competitive racing championship of 2024 and had prepare very well my Mercedes Benz AMG GT4 with great setup for Mount Panorama but little did i know was what is going to happen in the 2 races ahead!
Sim racing can be harsh some times 😁

Fantastic pace at the front of the pack. It makes it incredibly hard to pass at this track. Still you maintain great focus waiting for any mistakes. Thanks for sharing and looking forward hopefully you post the 2nd race also.

Nice race and vídeo as usual 😏 what monitors you have? Ips or va? I had 3 lg 27 ips qhd but they have 3 years old and they start to have more light bleeding and ips glow and because I race in enclosure rig that notice more. And I don’t have space for bigger than 27”. And oled are very expensive…

I rarely read it from other people but I really like driving at Hungaroring. I like the flow of this track
It is harsh track and finding the proper flow is so important😃
Here the difference between the AM and Pro drivers in the league was almost two seconds 🙈

@@chepilevski I'm a Sunday driver, so I bet I would be miles behind you guys 😅...but there's something with Hungaro that if you manage to get the proper flow (especially in sector 2), it is really satisfying

love the videos, and your setup. i attempted to record my races with a go-pro to get that pov view, but my audio is horrible , been trying to figure out some sound settings to help but im still scratching my head over it all not sure how to. it seems the sound is coming through my mic, instead of straight from pc, i dont know how to fix that.
I record the sound with OBS separately and then sync with premiere pro buddy 🤛
I aspire to have my rig like this one day

Your setup is inspirational. Do you think an immersive rig could be created using the Samsung 57 inch Neo G9 ultrawide ?
I haven’t tested that but I’m sure is possible as I have made few GoPro shots with that screen and looks really good !

The power density of the field, especially at the top, is enormous. One mistake and you lose several places at once. How much training do you put into a race like this?

For this championship I have to prepare for at least 3 hours daily per week as the rest of the pack really pushes me to do that 🙈
The guys are setting every week new iRacing world records with there different cars and if I don’t practice to maximize the car setup and me I will be back marker 🙈

Hi mate , there is something I dont understand . When I am in my rig the side left mirror is or should be sitting just 30 cms away from my left arm. On your video it looks like this mirror is something like 1m in front of your arm… is this just an optic view « trick » from the video ?? Thanks

It was really difficult track man 🙈
It was hard to find those 51 and it took me at least 500 laps and hours of setup tweaking 🙈
@chepilevski I feel a little better after hearing how much time you invested. I'm still confident I wouldn't have found enough time for a 51 if I ran 1000 laps. 😅 Very tough track to pass at as well. I botched qualifying a couple of times and found it difficult to pass cars 1 to 2 seconds a lap slower. I also had a couple of really fun races with close battles.
Your on pace and so is all of the front pack...= no passing.
Every one was way too careful in this one and not much opportunity for anyone 🙈
That was heat 1 and usually drivers are more careful here and give it all in the feature race which gives the most points. It’s coming soon

The second half of this race reminds me of a "typical" AMS2 A.I. Race where the A.I. seems to always split into two groups with a large gap in the middle (1-10 then 11-20+). I haven't been able to race AMS2 lately, due to the Aussie Summer heat - so hopefully the newer patches have made A.I. racing a bit closer in that Sim. But good luck in your own next entertaining race. RBM. [;]-)

The top 7 cars where bit boring but everyone was careful as that’s the heat one and there are not many points as in the main race which I will share soon 😁

The distance is 56cm at angle of 50 degrees and the FOV 164 with those 32 inch monitors 🤛

Hey what’s your settings in iRacing to get your virtual chassis to stay fixed on screen? Mine always rolls around a bit.
Those are settings in the ini.file about locking horizon but I did that many years ago and don’t remember how exactly is called the option .
You will find something on UA-cam for sure if you search about it 🤛

The light is this Sokani X60 RGB LED Video Licht 80W

Man i have one question. Which camera and resolution would you recommend for great quality while live? This looks insane but its recorded. So many cams around but not great solutions for live while filming a rig in low light while also monitors screen light play a factor..
Man, the best way is some DSLR cameras for streaming and Sony have some solutions but those are expensive anyway 🙈
Light is also probably the most important part for every camera!
You can do simple research on UA-cam about DSLR cameras for streaming 🤛
Thanks brother, will do! DSLR issue is that 4k capture utility from elgato for example doesnt accept 60fps at 4k like, you film . How do you capture your vids from the dslr? you are using capture card 4k 60 fps PCIe?@@chepilevski

Do you use Real Head Motion for your Videos?
It is fixed to the horizon but the GoPro is trapped to my forehead and the motion shakes my body around 🤛

Nothing wrong with holding your start race position, consistency matters end of the day. Qualifying high up then dropping back in the field would and does feel bad.

What do you set your Y-axis Pitch (not horizon Y) in your iRacing Cockpit Camera.... I've been having trouble finding the most immersive setting.
I also have triple 32" with about 57-59cm viewing distance and my eyes line up to the middle of the screens.. It is very difficult to find the right balance between pitch and horizon and i also feel like it differs from car to car
I don't know about you, but i have a bad habit of constantly fidgeting with my camera settings and it wastes precious racing time!! 😄

I think is mostly optical illusion as the graphics are just on high in iRacing and nothing special for sure!

Sometimes on some tracks things are almost impossible
I hate the ugly 4 inches wide bezel free kit, I've made diy ones that are 1.5 inches wide, they're barely noticeable.

@@chepilevskiI disassembled an old LCD screen, inside, you can find a the same kind of film that stretch the image behind, just like the one you are using now. I cut a slice of +- 2 inch, bend it in the middle at 60°. Cut it the length of my screen and 3d printed brackets to hold them top and button of my screens. Plus, you can go up to 60 inch screen if you can find an old 60 LCD screen. I can send you pictures of them if you want, I also have the STL of my bracket
I have the Asus and must say, in the cockpit when focused I don't even see them. Cheers!
