Always liked him as a fighter but very interesting guy to listen to as well, he would probably do good in films (not just the one movie with the guy that played blart)
it sucks fighting a lot of guys, because when you knock one down, he gets back up while you're fighting the others... Bas says this like we all can relate to the situation.
When Bas talks about being the first person to dissuade any violence, I honestly believe him. All the things you see and hear about him paint a picture of a respectful, inspirational man who had plenty reason to fight growing up, yet over time learned the invaluable lesson to never go looking for one. Sure he did so when he was young, but that is what a young man does. No matter where you are from, when you're a teenage boy you think you are the king of the block.
But of course it had to go the was Bas described it because he got his ass kicked, right... When you're Bas Rutten how do you explain getting your ass kicked... Had to be at least 5 of them, weapons involved and one had to be a cop. What really happened, he got drunk, ran his mouth and got beat!... Them when the cops arrived he got physical with one of them.
@Bill Randall In most civilized countries you aren't allowed to carry guns, and it is actually pretty difficult to come by them, so the muscle bs is still a thing.
Bas was bullied quite badly as a kid. He learned fighting to defend himself. He's not an instigator but he will also not be fucked with. As he said before, not an eye for an eye, but two eyes for an eye.
Chris Hansen Date_Line NBC_420 They did it becsuse they knew he was a fighter. If you go into a bar or a place that serves alcohol and everyone knows you fight you always have that one guy or a group of idiots who want to try you. Best advice I can give for anyone who is famous like Bas is to stay out of bars and drink at home.
Really appreciate Bas's genuineness, he seems to be a lot more candid and it's like your listening in on him sharing stories with his friends at dinner.
TheRocker500 pushbrooms have handles that screw in and out. They may of had them that way for the bouncers to use. But then again he had been poked in both eyes sooo, maybe.

I live in sweden and I must say I really take pleasure in listening to this story. A lot of bouncers is abusing what little power they got, many of my friends have been beaten up by bouncers for no reason on a regular night out. I'm sure this problem surely streches widely outside sweden though, but it's just satisfying to hear that for once they jumped the wrong guy.
Broseidon same here brother. It was a way of life, and somethings that's been a staple/pattern in your life is always hard to let go. And alcohol in moderation slowly started to become more frequent so I had to stray away before I became what I swore I wouldn't. Cheers my man

He hit a cop probably deserved it why is it when you tell someone you don’t want to fight they think your a punk always tough when they outnumber you BAS IS THE MAN 🇺🇸🤙
A significant portion (though definitely not the majority) of bouncers get that job because they want a socially acceptable excuse to antagonize, beat up, and hurt people. I don't think any establishment or event is worth sticking around and tolerating a jackass bouncer for. Also don't try to get the refund for your ticket there, use the system for disputing charges that your credit card company has.
How is anyone suppose to know that a bouncer who jabs his finger into your chest, then both of your eyes is a Freaking Cop!?!? Impossible!!! lol I'm glad the bailiffs or whatever were fans of his though
That's how it works with cops in the US. If an off duty cop comes up and punches you in the face for absolutely no reason, and you fight back, YOU are going to jail. Not the off duty cop. Isn't that awesome?! Fuck the police. Every single one of them.
This kind of treatment is par for the course when you're a famous fighter unfortunately. I remember hearing that back in the 90's even Kevin Sorbo, the guy that played Hercules in that show that was filmed in New Zealand, would have people coming up to him trying to pick fights. He'd be all like "guy's I'm an actor and it's just a fantasy show, calm down".... It's funny how insecure guys can be when they're around a tough guy. Women have a lot to do with it too because they'll swoon over the famous "tough guy" and this makes the average guy very insecure. Dudes should just learn to calm the fuck down, I'm glad I don't have the alpha male personality.
Simply being built causes it, women like to swoon on you to hope you will beat their boyfriends ass, once you do they always go back to him "Boo Hooing" cause he is a cry baby bitch and their motherly instincts come forward.

I hit a cop and put him in a head lock. His pinky barely scratched my forehead. He was off duty. Two more cops in military fatigue came up and sprayed us both with big pepper cans. I didnt feel a thing, cop was on the floor rolling in pain, or irritation... I dunno. Took us both to jail. Judge asked us both to spend 30 days in jail , or pay $30... That was it. I live in Panama.
