Horror Speedruns Explained: House All Endings

- House is an adorable horror game that is like Groundhog day but you have to try and save your family from dying over and over again until you get it right.
As a speedrun there are a lot of autoscrollers but this is the only category I have seen that accomplishes the game's actual ending instead of just being a fraction of the game. A lot of stamina management is needed in comparison to some surprisingly intricate movement especially on bosses. I would want this chopped much more since I am still theorycrafting this run but it may be worth it to try and get the Snail earlier for the Frog King.
This run also sorta devolves closer to the end as I try to save the cat not realizing how daunting of a task this ends up becoming. Keep in mind while most of the first half is properly commentated I realize I was also effectively routing this game since it is also a New Game run as most of the leaderboard uses already acquired tools.

saved cat A+++++++++++++
Karma pays off
Oh man. I've been thinking about this game recently. The death noise is so soothing but haunting at the same time.
I deeply enjoyed this game and would like more people to be aware of it
What I could potentionally see as a neat joke category would be getting all unique deaths since it could maybe have more routing potential and some of the death scenes are quite funny
There would be so many
@@Ecdycis since I threw the idea in the room, I think all deaths would be
Pre true ending
- the possesed mom
- the rat (your favourite way to die)
- the beartrap
- the thing under Tabbys bed
- the toilet demon
- the shadow monster
- the banshee in the bedroom
- the zombie cat
- the rug
- hanged Melody
- the thing in the fride
- all 3 phases of James
True ending and beyond
- the fingers in the piano room
- the mouth in the rat room
- the husks in frozen time
- the seamstress
- the frog king
Melodys side
- the squishing the rubber duck
- the piano demon
- the shadow girl
- the tree growing out of the clock
- tripping with the scissors out and/or hitting the mother with them (its the exact same animation
- zombie Toby
- getting caught by the noose
- the rubber duck turning into a monster when Jizo appears
- and lastly Jizo himself at the end
the best thing about your "speedrun explained" series, is that you play the games YOURSELF.
and that gives this super natural and situational explanation, which makes it so good.
you consider misstakes and add personal notes without prolly even realizing it, and that makes a explained speedrun much more enjoayble because you can see that there is a normal human beeing playing this.
most other "speedrun explained channels" just talk over a recording of a flawless run, which always feels "unnatural" to me.
im watching GDQ since the beginning, but after watching your channel, i finaly consider to start speedrunning as well, because you gave me the feeling that it does not has to be a 100% perfect run, to enjoy speedrunning.
my english is not the best so i hope people can understand it :)
anyways, thx for these videos and keep up the good work.
Best of luck and thank you, i feel this style hits what more people will see in their experiences
You saved the cat!
I didn't even know about the DLC!
Great job!
The DLC is fun
Congrats on world record for cat%.
Unlucky
This is one of my favorite horror games of all time, so I’m super excited to see you speedrunning it! Also, thought I’d share a couple tips I’ve discovered from my own playthrough that might help make certain parts quicker and easier:
- In the main game, you can shoot the hostile shadows with your slingshot to instantly destroy them instead of having to run from them. I don’t think it works for the female shadow in Melody’s mode, though.
- There actually is a way to get rid of the Seamstress early without wasting the bear trap or shotgun shells: if you pour the water bucket out somewhere and lure her through the puddle, she’ll trip onto her scissors and die.
- I could be misremembering this one, but I don’t think you actually need to play the grandma’s song more than once in Melody’s mode. I’m pretty sure that after the first time you summon her, she’ll automatically start appearing in a random dark room on subsequent runs, even if you haven’t played the song on that run.
The grandmas song was just faster for me to find the grandma.
Good to know about seamstress, she is mean.
I never knew that worked on shadows!
Just stumbled apon your channel. Love what you do and the vibe and positivity you spread. Thank you
Thanks!
So when you play a new video game, after when you've beaten it, does everything just automatically stay in your memory for you? Because how do you get so good at video games that you can just speedrun so easily lol? Or is it that, some games are just easier than others so it requires less practice?
...
I wouldn't be surprised if all games were just easy for ya lol
I have a spongy memory and have always been good at memorizing things
@@Ecdycis That makes sense 🙂
Oh, i LOVE this game! Cool to see you speed run this!😀
It's a charming game and I need to figure out that Frog. I thought we'd have it but there were a few hoops
Hey man, props for not using the snail.
For the most part I tried to avoid it. The Frog fight is the only one truly messing with me and I think you'd be able to squeeze it all in with the Snail.
Weirdly enough for every other ending it is slower to unlock the snail currently because it requires 10 deaths to activate. While I could spam these out it'd be faster to one try it since every attempt at an ending will take a set amount of time. Also I realized that saving the Cat would take an ADDITIONAL playthrough since I wouldn't have unlocked the Rat song for it unless I also had the Crow song

House is such a bizarre yet soothing game. It's also fairly unique in how much has been added in each patch. It's been a bit since I caught up with it (I was happy with the Chapter 1 ending and was afraid it would be retconned iirc), but now seems like a good time to catch up.
I enjoy House
No clued there was a speed run for this game. I love this game thank you bless ya
There appeared to be individual endings but this is the only full game category
so glad you enjoyed House, I’ve been waiting a long time for you to get around to doing it!
I've been meaning to return to it and am glad I did
you rule dude
Thanks!
GG! It got a bit unexplained for the Melody run meaning to say, less tell and more show, hopefully the next explanation vid goes off the rail less. I blame the seamstress and the rat!
Melody was properly prepared... without the Cat. With the Cat I realized I cannot do it in the additional run as expected since I had no way of getting the Wine early. Otherwise it was mostly what I expected. GG
that's a calico cat so it's a she
Oh no
28:13 No it's not going to be the final hour of the video.
...Just the final 50 minutes
It be like that
Im getting this for my streamer friend. Every Monday he streams horror related subjects so this will be a fun one for him to play
Hope he enjoys it
"No its not gonna be the final hour of the video" said with 50 minutes of video left.
I knew immediately
23 minutes in and what I've gathered is the rat is the real boss.
Correct
sick dude
Yeeeeeee
