Nothing but tough love. Min/Max the PR yourself, don't let the game do it... It's a HUGE handicap. People will still cry and say this is an L take. Nobody wants solutions to get better. They want you to tell them they are right and the game is too hard. If you give them tips to get better at the game, they still cry instead of trying to improve.

Like I said I'm not complaining about how hard AI is, I'm not struggling with the game @Vxerses I'm simply saying rwd need to be tuned better and some cars need some more love, but with the lack of cars the game is even giving us it's even more hard to find other alternatives
TL;DR: AI is shit, it rubberbands, but we can win anyway. 99% of the players aren't like that, and they won't be able to do that as easily, or won't be able to do it at all. AI in TDU SC is piss easy most of the time, where you can gap them in any car you want, but there are just A FEW races, where the AI drives like it's on rails, and it's hard to keep up with them even with a meta car (I've only had that problem with Belcher Bay Loop race, where the AI were consistently showing top 1-5 leaderboard times). On the other hand, the AI doesn't adjust it's PR to your PR, so I've had a lot of races (especially in the beginning of the game) where my 478 Mustang was racing against a few 550 TT RSes and whatnot. I still won pretty easily, but wasn't a good feeling, since the AI doesn't know how to do corners and only drives hella fast on the straights. The rubberbanding is a problem. And it's not consistent. If you bring a detuned car to a race, most of the time the AI will rubberband more, than if you bring a max-class/available PR car. Had the most extreme case happen to me a few days ago, where I brought my S750 Jag to some race, and I had to race against S866 AI car, that was 6 seconds faster than the top-1 time on the leaderboard. Yet when I brought my S881 car, the AI weren't even close to me, and were around the time I managed to get in my Jag. Basically, as someone who is pretty skilled, the racing doesn't feel rewarding to me. It's either you gap the AI by 20 seconds, or they gap you, no in-between. I can get top 1-10 times in any race, but the skill and "200 more hp" alone can't beat the rubberbanding, be it if you get unlucky with AI, or don't overtake the AI in the first corner or two, and they just fly away on the first straight they see. The overtakes and wins aren't rewarding, and losses are frustrating. Casual players: poor guys, honestly. It's easy for us to say, that it's easy to beat AI, but we HAVE the skill, talent, tuning capabilities, whatever. Some people just don't know how to, or they don't have time to min-max everything/learn about it, but they want to have fun too. So, having a difficulty slider is a must. How to implement for online, since I saw that question somewhere in the comments: 1. Let the AI have the hardest difficulty in online races with players; 2. adjust it to the level of one of the players randomly; 3. adjust it to the lowest difficulty that one of the players has 4. just remove them entirely from races with other players (but this one is a pretty bad idea imo).
This. THIS. This right here is what I wanted to see. A difficulty slider would help astronomically. And it’s not just about making the game easier, it’s more so an accessibility issue. It would open up the game to more players, it’s why forza and motor fest are still doing so well; among other things. I want this game to do well, to be a competitive alternative to the others, but right now it’s not. I’ll still play it cause I spent money on it, but it’s still a sour taste in my mouth; ya’know?
I encountered an AI in the Ruby Crown Jewel that I was able to stay ahead decently of for like 30% of the race and at around the 40% mark they caught up to me and I made a mistake that caused him to slightly get ahead of me and then I drove a bit harder to try and catch up to him. Bro no matter what I could not catch up to it, it was driving as if it had double the PR of my car and after getting to like 50% of the race it ended up being 3 minutes ahead of me (which absolutely should not be possible with the PR that event has or with how rubber banding is supposed to work). Mind you I did do the min/max technique mentioned in the video, I've known about it since a few days after early launch. Even having full slicks and downforce turned up on the car I was using, I could not keep them behind me for the entire race. I commonly also get in the top 20 of my region's leaderboard, so I am clearly not a novice driver and I know how to take corners depending on checkpoint placement. The AI running off as soon as they get ahead of you is the main thing they need to fix, cause there's clearly some programming issues with them in regards to that. They should be faster while you're ahead, not while they're ahead of you. They also should have the same, or around the same, performance as you so it's truly a challenge and not just you driving alone in first.
I use this method when I want to push to a "world record", but holy shit is tedious as fuck not being able to add/remove parts at the race lobby and the need of going back and forth to the workshop, also add the struggle of the gas stations and points of interest not saving so I need to drive half of the map to the race... after doing this like 3 or 4 times I usually give up and go with the automatic tune 😂
I agree with this one a lot. I think it's one of my biggest pains that I have to deal with. Wonder why they didn't add it when we'd end up adjusting our parts a lot to fit the power limit.
Hi kingdom, i usually love your videos but this video is an L on you. nobody is complaining about audi tt races D and G is fairly easy. when you get to S and H the AI gets stupid fast. they literally make no mistakes and drive accxording to the raceline. im a pretty good racer in my humble opinion. and i get my ass handed to me usually in the H races. and believe me i push my bugatti 16.4 as hard as i can. i tune every single car for top speed and acceleration. most players are casual. and me being racing tryhard. i really struggle with this game. this game really has pushed me to my limits like no other game before. is that good ? yes for people looking for a challenge. but for casuals ? these guys get destroyed by the AI. for example. the crown jewel emerald. you have to do it under 12 minutes. and if the AI is using H class cars. as long as you send the car hard. and at least keep up with the top 3 you might get the under 12 minutes secondary task. At this point its not really a skill issue my man the AI is hard AF. ive played long enough to know. if a hyper car passes me. and he gets out of my map and out of sight they be putting like 20 seconds on me. and youre gonna tell me thats a skill issue ? come on bro. get real for a bit. youre a really good driver. doesnt mean most people are. youd be surprised how many people play racing games. and not know what a racing line. or what hitting the apex is. This video is a big L. people spent money on this game and they should be able to adjust the difficulty. and the difficulty should reflect on the payment you get at the end. everybody is playing on impossible right now for crumbs. and thats not fun. if the AI is gonna be this hard i want more than 30 grand. reward me for my sweat. this is how the game should be man. choose. the game is called unlimited and its the most limiting game ive ever played. get off your high horse and get real my man. There is a problem with this - every time I go to the workshop and modify my car, the game disconnects me from the lobby. Every. Time. And it's a pain to get back into a stable lobby. So I try to avoid the workshop as much as possible.
They need to add PR profiles we can save, then. With so many races, it's a hassle to go back to the workshop before every race to adjust the PR manually.
Honestly, I can win 95% of the races using auto setup against the Expert AI without much trouble, but they are just _so_ fast on some races (mostly dry, with long straights). An explanation of how to build a car for lower PRs is very helpful; thank you for that. Also, we need slots to save car configurations for different PRs in.
i would 100% agree if this game was called "assetto corsa", unfortunately this game SHOULD BE a tdu game, a fun, pick up and play game, not a skill based hardcore racing game, we should have difficulty settings, thats it for me

I started the game off with the alpina and let me tell you, I was miserable. I grinded until level 12. Then this fucken guy called me a pussy and told me to buy blazablah. I grabbed the Audi tt. And that car alone made me 3 million credits so far. Also I’m gay
we need a few things to fix: 1. i dont like automatic PR fix . we need our 750 , 850 PR preset saved so we can load it in options. lets take a porsche 918 for example when its 900 PR game dont install Turbo and i loose a tone of speed with this antomatic PR. 2. get rid of the music track notification pop up on RADAR. cant see a shit when i drive at 550 km/h.
I'm doing pretty well at the game. My play time is 1 day and 9 hours and I'm currently on level 38 rep. I've just been maxing my car's out but keeping certain parts and not upgrading them as there seems to be little or no difference. From what I'm taking from this video is that I shouldn't let the game do an auto PR decrease but instead set each car up where I can get a good performance out of the car while keeping a low PR then individually set each driving mode depending on whether I want speed or acceleration for example races where you know you're not gonna go above 150mph. I definitely found this video to be very helpful and very informative. I will admit, I have found the AI in some races to be challenging but not impossible to beat. Thanks for the video, big ups!
Its funny how i see this vid after struggling on a certain early game race in my mustang. Though i did complete it eventually im just more concerned about other players who would play this more casually be gatekept by unadjustable AI. Honestly, unadjustable AI difficulty and questionable pacing of the AI in certain sections of races are my current concerns. Idk how high the ai difficulty gets but the expert AI is manageable on my end. But i can see more casual players giving up on the game just because they cant progress further because they enforced an increase in difficulty for the AI instead of making it a choice for the players. Yes, skill issue, get good and whatnot, but you can't deny there are players in this game who just wants to complete the game without issue. As for me, at least im still progressing, just had to avoid dealing with the audi tt.
I’ve been saying this for a while now. I feel like the modern racing game community has been SPOILED ROTTEN. Lately these games have been making it way too easy to win and THROW MONEY AND FREE CARS AT YOU. While at sometimes, the ai may need a SMALL nerf, I welcome the challenge and you should too
It takes a lot to get 1st place, I get it. But remember you don't have to get 1st place. Get the 1st place once we got further in the game, and / or wait for the patch that will adjust the AI. Just take your time in this game, it's meant to be a slow grind :)
I noticed that, suspension and transmission affect the rating a lot with minimal changes to the overall feel of the car. Good tips. This will absolutely fix most of the issues you may encounter. I still think the difficulty needs to be a setting so its more accessible though. Have it like most others, get more rewards with higher difficulties.
Someone with some sense! I don't think they are capable of making the AI have different settings for each player. We've seen that players that are cheating to freeze the AI effects everyone in the race.
My idea was that I think maxing your performance rating should make the event relatively easy, but if you have a lower performance rating, you get more rewards. Something like 3% every 10 performance rating below the limit you are. You can combine difficulty and rewards into one in what I personally think is a more interesting way.

I see your point, but I look at it in a broader picture. You stream the game every single day and know the in and outs of the game top to bottom. But I don’t believe that somebody who is coming back to the series, maybe from nostalgia, and just wants a fun TDU experience is going to want to min/max for every race. That completely takes any fun out of it, and it becomes a sweat fest just to complete the races. That’s ridiculous, the AI should be adjustable. Save the sweat for the online ranked races.
I wish racing games community had more people like Kingdom Twelve. I mean TDU SC in a harsh state right now but he was able to find good in this game still despite admitting its flaws and even makes a content for people who are whining about the problems that aren't even this big.

Add difficulty levels. Some people can't get good and just want to enjoy a racing game at their pace. They are not in it for competition. Add an easy level and add a hard level. Let people enjoy the game the way they can and want. I shouldn't need too lose on purpose to get the level back down to experienced.
@KingdomTwelve well make an offline mode. I was enjoying the game until I got the vehicle purchase bug and dealerships and gas stations not saving. I could complete and win often, but sometimes the A.I. is super human. I'm waiting for the patch and will try it again. I mean, I bought the gold edition, so I might as well. I still hate always online games you can't pause, and due to that, I have no difficulty levels. Terrible decision by them. Let there be an online and offline component and let people choose which they prefer.
Great tips with the tuning, exactly how i get all of my times + the tunes i spend time on. I use allroad suspension on literally everything that has it lol. Tuning makes such a hugeeee difference when you get it right/understand it better, people need to play around with it more! Also The Cape Escape you say? >;)
This most definitely has been informative and I've learned something new. However, the game should still allow for difficulty setting adjustment when its only you vs AI. People should have the option to improve at their own pace, esp if they're new to racing games. I play a lot of diff racing games and each one is different. So what i can do in one game doesn't apply to another. So this video should help me for this game. But for others it may not right away. If theres other humans racing with you then have a set difficulty for that. That'll give someone an idea of what to strive for if they want pvp. And theres no better way to practice then going against AI. Let them start low. Build up to higher difficulties at their own pace.
Tough take, i paid for the game give me the option to change the difficulty. It shouldnt matter how others play the game. 10 days in forza and not once did i wonder what difficulty a random person was playing at. Also love the content even if I don't agree with this take.

I’m not going to lie the PR rating should be higher in different categories races like I don’t understand how you can max your car out but it’s too high for races so you can’t drive it in certain races it doesn’t make sense honestly I don’t care about the Ai my problem is the ratings for these races you have to basically limit your builds to be able to qualify in races I have to put on off-road suspension and off-road wheels on a road race to be to leave the Ai it’s so weird
Only thing i dont like about the game is if you want to grind a race that you like it gives you less money after few times doing the race. Just keep giving us the same price money no matter how much we do it
I don’t mind the ai, I know I’m not the best so when stuff like losing to the ai I just keep doing the same race. My complaint, and I’ll admit I was using automatic config the whole time but my main complain is the meta cars and pvp but I’m going to start buying upgrades based on priority and hope that helps

Ive been doing the Auto config. And been doing decent with it. But i change my tyres and set up first. Been playing around with the set ups which help a huge bunch. For instance. I have the gtr r35 specifically set up for off road races and its awesome. If i do struggle i would go in and change the parts my self but havent got to that stage yet. One thing that would help. Would be like they do with forza. Save the tune and also can save the parts you have for a certain set up so you can just change it in the race itself to what ever set up or parts you have on this tune. That would be the ideal thing
But in saying that. I probably will be doing some set ups like your doing. As in free roam I'm only driving hyper cars and supercars to get the km up so down tuning the daily drivers and gts would work
The auto config is definitely messing people up. We should have 900 etc settings for parts to quick select but yeah auto config had me on the back foot

Well, tbh you are right, is not even min maxing things, is a skill issue, I only got into tunning at level 60. All my races on the hole map i 1st all of em, ofc, not first try, some had to do it even 4 times to learn the corners and at what speed I can handle it thru without hitting. And guess what, it works, no bs, i can show, all races 1st, how many are there ? 150ish. So yea, big skill issue and that without being 1st on any online leaderboard of those races cuz i did all with stock cars.
Hi, just want to say that for sure there is Skill involved, yet not everyone understand tunes, so those players should by able to lower AI difficulty, without nerfing it to the groud so high skilled players can also have some pressure. I saw both your videos about tunes, but i still dont understand majority of sliders...my bad i guess.... Anyway if you want challenge, try Corvette C1 in G class if you manage to tame it 😀
i beating AI with 20 sec on 3min race. what people are talking about. I WANT HARDER AI !! AI on rain are like bots i DNF them all the time and there is 50% of races are in rain. its not a game issue because a lot of people have no issue to beat AI so it must be ur skill issue if u cant beat shit out of the AI.
Just like a SoulsLike game you have to use " all the tools the game gives you" :) I dont like souls games :) When people cry about the TDU:SC´s AI they usually do that because they are so inconsistent and can be seen simply cheating at times. And yes there are Meta cars that are simply better, if you choose a " cool" car you usually get punished. And the tuning isnt really that straight forward, takes out the flow and only complicates races. People probably dont want to engage with the tuning system that much. Plus theres no abilty to set difficulties, simply restart races, rewind or the always online " features" effing you, sometimes the game likes to waste your time. Other games simply do that better. The only positive thing is that the ingame rewards dont care much if you dont reach 1st place everytime...
I play with no upgrades and stock cars and i still dont complain about ai. Obviously theres some issues but they cant really make it easier. Because if they did it would probably make ppl stay shit drivers.
finally raced against a real person last night, right after getting my first hyper car the 918 (meta i know but its also so cheap) dude was in a buggati, He had to of not tuned cuz i dog walked him and the AI even in rain and fucking up so bad to were i was passed twice! and still won

you have to tune your car for every event when it comes to S and H, that autotune garbage destroys your performance, i lost like 200 hp in perfomante and i had to tune it myself because ai literally left me in the dust from the start, there are like 100+ events with different lvl requirements, aint nobody got time for that ai is till broken asf on pc at least, this guy plays some vip for me 30 fps don't kill me version and bragging about it lol
Hahaha, like the way you get excited. That's the thing, in most games you can CHANGE the AI settings so the "kids" who want to win every race can do it as well as "professional" ones who can make AI higher or max it!!! But here it doesn't give you choice, does it?
AI can be beat and i have 1st places every race but will say when i was doing an S race on the aventador svj, on a straight line the ferrari 812 blew by me lol. That car is OP and AI is nice with that car.
Yeah, unless you race other people and they all just use Meta. If you want to land in the leaderboards, you must use meta... So you are really forced to buy Sienter, TT and Taycan. Great.
never lost a race in tt or any other op cars even with autotune, so bad example in the beginning, get superfast slap 2k hp and go bowling, will see how nice it is to drive, fxkk drives like a dream, also bad example lol S and H is where ai is broken mostly, try to do ferrari exclusive races, you will see personally i 'feel like i'm done with it, got lvl 60 and no way i'm playing those stupid 100 races challenges for all those cars on the list, there are far better games out there
Couldn't agree more! Admittedly, there was one car I had that felt very underpowered for its class so I did struggle to win SOME races but most of it is easy. After playing Dirt 2 and Race Driver Grid many times on the hardest difficulty, the A.I. in this are definitely doable. Yeah I do think they still need tweaking as they tend to still hard dart to either the left or the right at the start (and on challenging tracks they sometimes just fall off a cliff and the vast majority of times they all DNF 😂 ) so if anything, the A.I. needs to drive better on a lot of the track layout's.
Why on gods green earth are you so hung up on what equates to some people not liking the game as much as you? So what people think the game is hard. So what some people are unhappy with parts of the experience. Bro, they should have no effect on you enjoying this game whatsoever. This just makes you look genuinely insecure. "I've been playing video games my whole life" and "I no life every game" isn't anything to be proud of. Get ready for challenge level impossible. Go outside and eat some grass.
Take a few hours to try tuning adjustment, to feel your tuning adjustment youll have to turn off the driver assistance for your tunes to kick in, 2nd best thing you can do with tuning is only adjust 1 or 2 things at a time so youll be able to notice what you adjusted, next thing is bounce your tunes off someone else if your able to do that and ride behind them and see your tune from a different outlook. And dont drive faster then your able to handle take power out so youll hold onto a better line then add power as the setup starts feeling slow to you. Im holding top 30 on leader boards doing these steps.

I don't actually support the game to the max. I never have issues with rubberbanding. So with that logic, my AI should be insanely fast and I should never catch them since I win every race. But here I am DNF'ing them.

This is the first racing game I've played since TDU2 and ive first placed every race so far up until level 30. AI is hard if you go behind but you just have to make 0 mistakes in the first sort of third in the race which gives you some room for error later on. I also hated the off-roading until I realised I wasn't even using off-road tires then the races became so easy. So I agree, it is a skill issue but also a knowledge issue
I’m mediocre at racing games and have little to know trouble with the AI in most races. They seem to be pretty cracked on races that are tied to “win X race” tasks but other than that they’re not that bad.
I can consistently beat AI Taycan's in the v8 vantage, but I have to actually try. Its refreshing to actually be challenged in a race, hasn't happened since MCLA.

'WE' came here for ANOTHER TEST DRIVE not forza not crew, not asseto, TESTDRIVE! how about the A.I be the same as the previous instalments??? Don't like it? tell the A.I to use the same car as you. This game isn't supposed to be a racing game at all. its not the direction of a test-drive game. So instead of saying Skill issue acknowledge the term rubber-banding you physically cant deny it. With now just under 230hrs into my save cut some slack for the people who generally want to enjoy the game by their means (For some can't because the game is just hard (not impossible, no one is saying that)) by racing a nice new testdrive that you cant deny has had a shit lauch but hey we are getting Ibiza this year so I cant complain.
I understand what rubberbanding is. If FPS increase is indeed the cause then fine, someone on PC can test that theory but I'm on console and have ZERO ISSUES with rubberbanding.
Honestly it's not that bad once you start to get good and win a few races and go from the starter car say to an Audi it becomes easy I just wish the game wasn't dead already can't find a rank race and everyone is to scared or doesn't want to imatant challenge
Honestly, I hate how games have become as well as what players have become. Why does a game need to be accessible to everyone? If you can't get better at the game for whatever reason, then that's on you. It shouldn't be on the game to dumb itself down enough for everyone to get by. Nothing else in life works that way. I love the challenge the AI give but I know its gonna get nerfed into the ground. This truly is the end result of people growing up with participation awards, guess what, you're not always gonna be the best and you're not always going to win. Instead of crying about it, practice and get better.

Nothing but tough love. Min/Max the PR yourself, don't let the game do it... It's a HUGE handicap. People will still cry and say this is an L take. Nobody wants solutions to get better. They want you to tell them they are right and the game is too hard. If you give them tips to get better at the game, they still cry instead of trying to improve.

Like I said I'm not complaining about how hard AI is, I'm not struggling with the game @Vxerses I'm simply saying rwd need to be tuned better and some cars need some more love, but with the lack of cars the game is even giving us it's even more hard to find other alternatives
TL;DR: AI is shit, it rubberbands, but we can win anyway. 99% of the players aren't like that, and they won't be able to do that as easily, or won't be able to do it at all.
AI in TDU SC is piss easy most of the time, where you can gap them in any car you want, but there are just A FEW races, where the AI drives like it's on rails, and it's hard to keep up with them even with a meta car (I've only had that problem with Belcher Bay Loop race, where the AI were consistently showing top 1-5 leaderboard times).
On the other hand, the AI doesn't adjust it's PR to your PR, so I've had a lot of races (especially in the beginning of the game) where my 478 Mustang was racing against a few 550 TT RSes and whatnot. I still won pretty easily, but wasn't a good feeling, since the AI doesn't know how to do corners and only drives hella fast on the straights.
The rubberbanding is a problem. And it's not consistent. If you bring a detuned car to a race, most of the time the AI will rubberband more, than if you bring a max-class/available PR car. Had the most extreme case happen to me a few days ago, where I brought my S750 Jag to some race, and I had to race against S866 AI car, that was 6 seconds faster than the top-1 time on the leaderboard. Yet when I brought my S881 car, the AI weren't even close to me, and were around the time I managed to get in my Jag.
Basically, as someone who is pretty skilled, the racing doesn't feel rewarding to me. It's either you gap the AI by 20 seconds, or they gap you, no in-between. I can get top 1-10 times in any race, but the skill and "200 more hp" alone can't beat the rubberbanding, be it if you get unlucky with AI, or don't overtake the AI in the first corner or two, and they just fly away on the first straight they see. The overtakes and wins aren't rewarding, and losses are frustrating.
Casual players: poor guys, honestly. It's easy for us to say, that it's easy to beat AI, but we HAVE the skill, talent, tuning capabilities, whatever. Some people just don't know how to, or they don't have time to min-max everything/learn about it, but they want to have fun too. So, having a difficulty slider is a must.
How to implement for online, since I saw that question somewhere in the comments: 1. Let the AI have the hardest difficulty in online races with players; 2. adjust it to the level of one of the players randomly; 3. adjust it to the lowest difficulty that one of the players has 4. just remove them entirely from races with other players (but this one is a pretty bad idea imo).
This. THIS. This right here is what I wanted to see. A difficulty slider would help astronomically. And it’s not just about making the game easier, it’s more so an accessibility issue. It would open up the game to more players, it’s why forza and motor fest are still doing so well; among other things. I want this game to do well, to be a competitive alternative to the others, but right now it’s not. I’ll still play it cause I spent money on it, but it’s still a sour taste in my mouth; ya’know?
I encountered an AI in the Ruby Crown Jewel that I was able to stay ahead decently of for like 30% of the race and at around the 40% mark they caught up to me and I made a mistake that caused him to slightly get ahead of me and then I drove a bit harder to try and catch up to him. Bro no matter what I could not catch up to it, it was driving as if it had double the PR of my car and after getting to like 50% of the race it ended up being 3 minutes ahead of me (which absolutely should not be possible with the PR that event has or with how rubber banding is supposed to work).
Mind you I did do the min/max technique mentioned in the video, I've known about it since a few days after early launch. Even having full slicks and downforce turned up on the car I was using, I could not keep them behind me for the entire race. I commonly also get in the top 20 of my region's leaderboard, so I am clearly not a novice driver and I know how to take corners depending on checkpoint placement.
The AI running off as soon as they get ahead of you is the main thing they need to fix, cause there's clearly some programming issues with them in regards to that. They should be faster while you're ahead, not while they're ahead of you. They also should have the same, or around the same, performance as you so it's truly a challenge and not just you driving alone in first.
I use this method when I want to push to a "world record", but holy shit is tedious as fuck not being able to add/remove parts at the race lobby and the need of going back and forth to the workshop, also add the struggle of the gas stations and points of interest not saving so I need to drive half of the map to the race... after doing this like 3 or 4 times I usually give up and go with the automatic tune 😂
I agree with this one a lot. I think it's one of my biggest pains that I have to deal with. Wonder why they didn't add it when we'd end up adjusting our parts a lot to fit the power limit.

nobody is complaining about audi tt races D and G is fairly easy. when you get to S and H the AI gets stupid fast. they literally make no mistakes and drive accxording to the raceline.
im a pretty good racer in my humble opinion. and i get my ass handed to me usually in the H races. and believe me i push my bugatti 16.4 as hard as i can. i tune every single car for top speed and acceleration. most players are casual. and me being racing tryhard. i really struggle with this game. this game really has pushed me to my limits like no other game before. is that good ? yes for people looking for a challenge. but for casuals ? these guys get destroyed by the AI. for example. the crown jewel emerald. you have to do it under 12 minutes. and if the AI is using H class cars. as long as you send the car hard. and at least keep up with the top 3 you might get the under 12 minutes secondary task.
At this point its not really a skill issue my man the AI is hard AF. ive played long enough to know. if a hyper car passes me. and he gets out of my map and out of sight they be putting like 20 seconds on me. and youre gonna tell me thats a skill issue ? come on bro. get real for a bit. youre a really good driver. doesnt mean most people are. youd be surprised how many people play racing games. and not know what a racing line. or what hitting the apex is.

There is a problem with this - every time I go to the workshop and modify my car, the game disconnects me from the lobby. Every. Time. And it's a pain to get back into a stable lobby. So I try to avoid the workshop as much as possible.
They need to add PR profiles we can save, then. With so many races, it's a hassle to go back to the workshop before every race to adjust the PR manually.

Honestly, I can win 95% of the races using auto setup against the Expert AI without much trouble, but they are just _so_ fast on some races (mostly dry, with long straights). An explanation of how to build a car for lower PRs is very helpful; thank you for that. Also, we need slots to save car configurations for different PRs in.

I started the game off with the alpina and let me tell you, I was miserable. I grinded until level 12. Then this fucken guy called me a pussy and told me to buy blazablah. I grabbed the Audi tt. And that car alone made me 3 million credits so far.

lets take a porsche 918 for example when its 900 PR game dont install Turbo and i loose a tone of speed with this antomatic PR.

I'm doing pretty well at the game. My play time is 1 day and 9 hours and I'm currently on level 38 rep. I've just been maxing my car's out but keeping certain parts and not upgrading them as there seems to be little or no difference. From what I'm taking from this video is that I shouldn't let the game do an auto PR decrease but instead set each car up where I can get a good performance out of the car while keeping a low PR then individually set each driving mode depending on whether I want speed or acceleration for example races where you know you're not gonna go above 150mph. I definitely found this video to be very helpful and very informative. I will admit, I have found the AI in some races to be challenging but not impossible to beat. Thanks for the video, big ups!

Its funny how i see this vid after struggling on a certain early game race in my mustang. Though i did complete it eventually im just more concerned about other players who would play this more casually be gatekept by unadjustable AI. Honestly, unadjustable AI difficulty and questionable pacing of the AI in certain sections of races are my current concerns. Idk how high the ai difficulty gets but the expert AI is manageable on my end. But i can see more casual players giving up on the game just because they cant progress further because they enforced an increase in difficulty for the AI instead of making it a choice for the players. Yes, skill issue, get good and whatnot, but you can't deny there are players in this game who just wants to complete the game without issue. As for me, at least im still progressing, just had to avoid dealing with the audi tt.

It takes a lot to get 1st place, I get it. But remember you don't have to get 1st place. Get the 1st place once we got further in the game, and / or wait for the patch that will adjust the AI. Just take your time in this game, it's meant to be a slow grind :)

I noticed that, suspension and transmission affect the rating a lot with minimal changes to the overall feel of the car. Good tips. This will absolutely fix most of the issues you may encounter. I still think the difficulty needs to be a setting so its more accessible though. Have it like most others, get more rewards with higher difficulties.
Someone with some sense! I don't think they are capable of making the AI have different settings for each player. We've seen that players that are cheating to freeze the AI effects everyone in the race.
My idea was that I think maxing your performance rating should make the event relatively easy, but if you have a lower performance rating, you get more rewards. Something like 3% every 10 performance rating below the limit you are. You can combine difficulty and rewards into one in what I personally think is a more interesting way.

I see your point, but I look at it in a broader picture. You stream the game every single day and know the in and outs of the game top to bottom. But I don’t believe that somebody who is coming back to the series, maybe from nostalgia, and just wants a fun TDU experience is going to want to min/max for every race. That completely takes any fun out of it, and it becomes a sweat fest just to complete the races. That’s ridiculous, the AI should be adjustable. Save the sweat for the online ranked races.
I’m all for min/maxing to beat fellow real racers, but I should definitely not have to min/max or drive meta cars just to have fun against AI

Min/Max and it's okay to make mistakes too winning isn't everything when you can always restart and improve on the mistakes
Add difficulty levels. Some people can't get good and just want to enjoy a racing game at their pace. They are not in it for competition. Add an easy level and add a hard level. Let people enjoy the game the way they can and want. I shouldn't need too lose on purpose to get the level back down to experienced.

@KingdomTwelve well make an offline mode. I was enjoying the game until I got the vehicle purchase bug and dealerships and gas stations not saving. I could complete and win often, but sometimes the A.I. is super human. I'm waiting for the patch and will try it again. I mean, I bought the gold edition, so I might as well. I still hate always online games you can't pause, and due to that, I have no difficulty levels. Terrible decision by them. Let there be an online and offline component and let people choose which they prefer.
Great tips with the tuning, exactly how i get all of my times + the tunes i spend time on. I use allroad suspension on literally everything that has it lol. Tuning makes such a hugeeee difference when you get it right/understand it better, people need to play around with it more!

This most definitely has been informative and I've learned something new. However, the game should still allow for difficulty setting adjustment when its only you vs AI. People should have the option to improve at their own pace, esp if they're new to racing games. I play a lot of diff racing games and each one is different. So what i can do in one game doesn't apply to another. So this video should help me for this game. But for others it may not right away. If theres other humans racing with you then have a set difficulty for that. That'll give someone an idea of what to strive for if they want pvp. And theres no better way to practice then going against AI. Let them start low. Build up to higher difficulties at their own pace.

I’m not going to lie the PR rating should be higher in different categories races like I don’t understand how you can max your car out but it’s too high for races so you can’t drive it in certain races it doesn’t make sense honestly I don’t care about the Ai my problem is the ratings for these races you have to basically limit your builds to be able to qualify in races I have to put on off-road suspension and off-road wheels on a road race to be to leave the Ai it’s so weird
Only thing i dont like about the game is if you want to grind a race that you like it gives you less money after few times doing the race. Just keep giving us the same price money no matter how much we do it
Update, I STILL CAN'T get first place, but I just got my first silver vs experienced AI s-class!! Tuning changes alot.

Ive been doing the Auto config. And been doing decent with it. But i change my tyres and set up first. Been playing around with the set ups which help a huge bunch. For instance. I have the gtr r35 specifically set up for off road races and its awesome. If i do struggle i would go in and change the parts my self but havent got to that stage yet.
One thing that would help. Would be like they do with forza. Save the tune and also can save the parts you have for a certain set up so you can just change it in the race itself to what ever set up or parts you have on this tune. That would be the ideal thing
But in saying that. I probably will be doing some set ups like your doing. As in free roam I'm only driving hyper cars and supercars to get the km up so down tuning the daily drivers and gts would work
The auto config is definitely messing people up. We should have 900 etc settings for parts to quick select but yeah auto config had me on the back foot
The ONLY think I can't stand about the AI is clipping right through the guardrails like they never even hit it but love a challenge otherwise

On one race one of the ai is one min faster than me and the whole fucking leaderboard lol

Well, tbh you are right, is not even min maxing things, is a skill issue, I only got into tunning at level 60. All my races on the hole map i 1st all of em, ofc, not first try, some had to do it even 4 times to learn the corners and at what speed I can handle it thru without hitting. And guess what, it works, no bs, i can show, all races 1st, how many are there ? 150ish. So yea, big skill issue and that without being 1st on any online leaderboard of those races cuz i did all with stock cars.
Hi, just want to say that for sure there is Skill involved, yet not everyone understand tunes, so those players should by able to lower AI difficulty, without nerfing it to the groud so high skilled players can also have some pressure.
I saw both your videos about tunes, but i still dont understand majority of sliders...my bad i guess....
Anyway if you want challenge, try Corvette C1 in G class if you manage to tame it 😀

Just like a SoulsLike game you have to use " all the tools the game gives you" :) I dont like souls games :)
When people cry about the TDU:SC´s AI they usually do that because they are so inconsistent and can be seen simply cheating at times. And yes there are Meta cars that are simply better, if you choose a " cool" car you usually get punished.
And the tuning isnt really that straight forward, takes out the flow and only complicates races. People probably dont want to engage with the tuning system that much.
Plus theres no abilty to set difficulties, simply restart races, rewind or the always online " features" effing you, sometimes the game likes to waste your time. Other games simply do that better.
The only positive thing is that the ingame rewards dont care much if you dont reach 1st place everytime...
I play with no upgrades and stock cars and i still dont complain about ai. Obviously theres some issues but they cant really make it easier. Because if they did it would probably make ppl stay shit drivers.
finally raced against a real person last night, right after getting my first hyper car the 918 (meta i know but its also so cheap) dude was in a buggati, He had to of not tuned cuz i dog walked him and the AI even in rain and fucking up so bad to were i was passed twice! and still won
Yea that 918 has like 700 more HP than bugatti. Go against a real player and you can't win.
Enjoy the drive. This is a fabulous game, I love the driving mechanic, and practice makes perfect. TDU3 without being an exact copy of the earlier games. Great video, good advice.

you have to tune your car for every event when it comes to S and H, that autotune garbage destroys your performance, i lost like 200 hp in perfomante and i had to tune it myself because ai literally left me in the dust from the start, there are like 100+ events with different lvl requirements, aint nobody got time for that
ai is till broken asf on pc at least, this guy plays some vip for me 30 fps don't kill me version and bragging about it lol

Hahaha, like the way you get excited. That's the thing, in most games you can CHANGE the AI settings so the "kids" who want to win every race can do it as well as "professional" ones who can make AI higher or max it!!! But here it doesn't give you choice, does it?

AI can be beat and i have 1st places every race but will say when i was doing an S race on the aventador svj, on a straight line the ferrari 812 blew by me lol. That car is OP and AI is nice with that car.

Yeah, unless you race other people and they all just use Meta. If you want to land in the leaderboards, you must use meta... So you are really forced to buy Sienter, TT and Taycan. Great.

never lost a race in tt or any other op cars even with autotune, so bad example in the beginning, get superfast slap 2k hp and go bowling, will see how nice it is to drive, fxkk drives like a dream, also bad example lol

Says Fxx-K is a bad example when it is RWD and severely under powered compared to most hypercars xD Had no issue with the Ferrari only races.
What they could do to solve the issue is put a setting to switch to easy or normal or hard difficulty so everybody's happy

Couldn't agree more! Admittedly, there was one car I had that felt very underpowered for its class so I did struggle to win SOME races but most of it is easy. After playing Dirt 2 and Race Driver Grid many times on the hardest difficulty, the A.I. in this are definitely doable. Yeah I do think they still need tweaking as they tend to still hard dart to either the left or the right at the start (and on challenging tracks they sometimes just fall off a cliff and the vast majority of times they all DNF 😂 ) so if anything, the A.I. needs to drive better on a lot of the track layout's.
Why on gods green earth are you so hung up on what equates to some people not liking the game as much as you? So what people think the game is hard. So what some people are unhappy with parts of the experience. Bro, they should have no effect on you enjoying this game whatsoever. This just makes you look genuinely insecure. Take a few hours to try tuning adjustment, to feel your tuning adjustment youll have to turn off the driver assistance for your tunes to kick in, 2nd best thing you can do with tuning is only adjust 1 or 2 things at a time so youll be able to notice what you adjusted, next thing is bounce your tunes off someone else if your able to do that and ride behind them and see your tune from a different outlook. And dont drive faster then your able to handle take power out so youll hold onto a better line then add power as the setup starts feeling slow to you. Im holding top 30 on leader boards doing these steps.

I don't actually support the game to the max. I never have issues with rubberbanding. So with that logic, my AI should be insanely fast and I should never catch them since I win every race. But here I am DNF'ing them.

This is the first racing game I've played since TDU2 and ive first placed every race so far up until level 30. AI is hard if you go behind but you just have to make 0 mistakes in the first sort of third in the race which gives you some room for error later on. I also hated the off-roading until I realised I wasn't even using off-road tires then the races became so easy. So I agree, it is a skill issue but also a knowledge issue

I’m mediocre at racing games and have little to know trouble with the AI in most races. They seem to be pretty cracked on races that are tied to “win X race” tasks but other than that they’re not that bad.
I can consistently beat AI Taycan's in the v8 vantage, but I have to actually try. Its refreshing to actually be challenged in a race, hasn't happened since MCLA.

Again, Not a skill issue... after some IMENSE testing I can confirm that doing races at lower fps causes the A.I to be more 'Relaxed'. I'm Running the game at 280fps and fuck me man, id like to see you try a super / Hyper race. RUBBER-BANDING hellooooo, just look at TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED 1 & 2. 'WE' came here for ANOTHER TEST DRIVE not forza not crew, not asseto, TESTDRIVE! how about the A.I be the same as the previous instalments??? Don't like it? tell the A.I to use the same car as you. This game isn't supposed to be a racing game at all. its not the direction of a test-drive game. So instead of saying Skill issue acknowledge the term rubber-banding you physically cant deny it. With now just under 230hrs into my save cut some slack for the people who generally want to enjoy the game by their means (For some can't because the game is just hard (not impossible, no one is saying that)) by racing a nice new testdrive that you cant deny has had a shit lauch but hey we are getting Ibiza this year so I cant complain.
I understand what rubberbanding is. If FPS increase is indeed the cause then fine, someone on PC can test that theory but I'm on console and have ZERO ISSUES with rubberbanding.
Honestly it's not that bad once you start to get good and win a few races and go from the starter car say to an Audi it becomes easy I just wish the game wasn't dead already can't find a rank race and everyone is to scared or doesn't want to imatant challenge
Honestly, I hate how games have become as well as what players have become. Why does a game need to be accessible to everyone? If you can't get better at the game for whatever reason, then that's on you. It shouldn't be on the game to dumb itself down enough for everyone to get by. Nothing else in life works that way. I love the challenge the AI give but I know its gonna get nerfed into the ground. This truly is the end result of people growing up with participation awards, guess what, you're not always gonna be the best and you're not always going to win. Instead of crying about it, practice and get better.
