    Omg I went on this cruise with this guy! His name is Pat and he's a friggin' genius. He loves crocodiles and has a tremendous amount of respect for them. Not like the other croc cruises which just want to make a spectacle. This guy was all about educating people about the beauty of crocodiles and that's why I liked it so much.

    For all you peanuts here claiming it was some kind of distraction, let me tell you as an Australian, crocodiles are not that smart, it was just a regular ambush like they all do, they don’t work in teams or put plans in place, they just see food and try to grab it if they are hungry enough or it is easy enough. They eat each other as often as not.

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 6 років тому +45

      Cryer24597 because we live with them, bright spark. Reading about something is not the same as knowing about them. As an example, I could read a book on how to repair an engine, does not make me inherently capable of doing so.

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 6 років тому +8

      Cryer24597 you are correct, the bulk of the population lives in cities on the east coast and wouldn’t have a clue, but not all of us live there, and living with these creatures in your environment is a reality for many people. Reading a book or watching a video is no substitute for life experience and it goes both ways. When I was working in Europe for instance and it snowed I was clueless, where as my Polish workmates immediately knew how to deal with the situation.

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 6 років тому +4

      Cryer24597 perhaps. In a nutshell, what I am trying to say is that life experience will avail you more, but I will agree that researching correctly will definitely benefit you. I do see the point you are trying to make I suppose, most Australians are not crocodile wrangling, gun toting hard men of the bush who come strolling in carrying a freshly slain beast on their shoulders.

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 6 років тому +4

      Cryer24597 here’s what you can do to test your theories regarding crocodile interaction, come down here to Australia, get on a boat and go fishing with them. Let us know what you catch.

    • @rsoul7282
      @rsoul7282 6 років тому +6

      Cryer24597 my point is that I see people like you all the time who think that doing a bit of reading gives you capability, and when asked to demonstrate such capabilities are found lacking. I say this as a person who is often tasked with training other people to perform high risk work. You said yourself you would employ the service of a guide.

    This is exactley how dangerous even "safe" feeding of these animals is cus they learn and adapt so quickly! If that person had there back turned at just the wrong moment it wud have only taken the first few teeth to grab a hold of a piece of clothing and with their power and weight the Crocs downward momentum wud have been plenty to have dragged that person overboard and down to the bottom of the river NEVER to been seen again!! I wonder if they even realise just how close that was to being the most terrifying experience any Human Being cud go through where death wud not only be certain but welcomed as quickly as possible?

I told her that crocodiles won't attack if you're nearby other people and I came to sit so she wasn't alone - she thought that was very sweet.

They don't give a fuck, if you offer them a chicken or your arm, they see you as food, and that's exactly why you should never think about sitting near a croc infested body of water. They're the predator, you're the prey. Follow some simple rules and nothing will happen. If you don't follow the rules, you very well deserve to get eaten.

      Rap Lawyer Florida law states Don’t feed the wildlife since it reduces their fear of people and makes them associate people with food. Crocs and alligators can jump 10-16 feet out of the water.
      The dumbest thing I ever saw was an over weight woman in a canoe holding a chicken leg up for an alligator to jump up and grab nicely from her fingers.
      No, the worse was a German tourist who gave his three year old half a sandwhich and told her to go feed the 12 foot alligator resting on the end of the pier.
      Note that the tourists in the open photo vehicles don’t feed the lions?

    I would NEVER get in one of those or any other boats on any of those rivers in Australia. Those tourists don't seem to comprehend that anything could happen at any given time on one of them, even with an experienced guide. They won't be able to save you from a sinking boat in a crocodile-infested river.

    • @baloog8
      @baloog8 5 місяців тому

      If you back up and look, while it's not impossible scenarios, boat hulls degrade over decades and have inspections. And there is radio and motor to rush to land except for catastrophic breach.
      The chances of death in that boat are probably on par with a modern American airlines. You would need a collision with another boat.
      That being said, a tourist or guide sticking their arm out or getting up to stretch in the wrong place at the wrong time does not seem too unlikely here. I'd say closer to a small prop airplane accident probability.

      It's because of over hunting/fishing and under consumption. Look into depletion of sea life since the 70s, ask any seafood associate in your local stores how many lbs of each thing whether it be shrimp cod whatever they have. Ask how many lbs of each thing just get tossed every few days.

      85794 vivid dream mate. They all live up there though. As a young and stupid kid i swam across a river in Guadalcanal. The locals assured me later that big crocs inhabited that river. Something ill never forget or do again. I also picked up a snake by the tail. I have no idea what it was but it was sure pissed off with me. Definitely was a python like we were used to handeling

      matt cullen I’m only kidding it did happen. Was mental , the abo guy was a fuckin nutcase he took a rifle with him and we shot kangaroo for dinner . Watched this maniac shoot a kangaroo about 15 times as it beat the shit out him. He then strung it up skinned it cut it up and we ate it for dinner that night .
      I remember we walked past a tiny puddle also and he said they’ll be crocs in there, we were like no way looks too shallow.. he threw a stone in a about 6 Big crocs swam out
      Never seen any snakes that day though
