Absolutely. That's why I can't listen to Mike Israetel. 85% weight of your 1 rep max with slow eccentric movements while adhering to multi factorial movement patterns and breathing at an increased rate while pinky's are raised towards the sky will increase muscle protein synthesis by 27%. Have a mix of 27.8g protein and reach that 3g leucine ratio within a 2-4 hour window will maximise gains on average of 12.7%. So what your meaning Mike is. Lift weights and eat food? Thanks

This is great stuff for well-conditioned folks, but as far as his thoughts on fasting go, they just weren't valuable for anyone who has plenty of fat to tap into. Also, the thoughts about an 8 hour fast being hard were just . . . like, really? I mean, once you're adapted to it, anything under 16 hours doesn't even feel like fasting.
100% agree. Started fasting 18/6 in early 2018. Religiously because it got rid of every symptom of diabetes (gone) so to me it just meant stable blood sugar and no energy lull. Did that 365 days a year for 4 years. No restaurants. No calories for 18hrs. For the last year or two I've realized how to not fast too much on accident from being busy. Like a travel trip causing the fast to go longer like 20 24 hrs that can feel draining obviously 😅 not enough food. But fasting is still my optimal. 18/ 6 allows enough time to eat. @@SimplyHuman186 I think it can vary quite a bit from individual to individual. But if someone can maintain steady energy/blood sugar level and not be ravenously hungry once they start eating, then awesome.
I’m 60 i rarely use free weights other than for arms and shoulders. I prefer the cables for all my weight training. If you don’t adapt to what your body’s telling you, you will end up with surgery . So open up your mind. At 60 you are not lifting like you are at 30.
Greg first got me into nutrition and fitness 5 years ago. I used to enjoy his vlogs a lot. My diet and training to some extend still base on his programs
That last thing they talked about is something I'm currently strugling with. Gotta work on having a bit more freedom and not let fitness take over my life. But keeping the physique, not sacrificing it.
in my early 40s, i'm actually transitioning to the lower 4-6 rep range, but i'm also not doing as much weight-lifting as before, only 2-days a week, while doing more cardio-related exercises on the remaining days of the week.
For me it's amazing if I stay true to no carbs I can go 1 meal a day no problem. I don't have cravings but I have to be no carbs for at least two weeks the my appetite subsidies. Always enjoy your videos
Greg knows his stuff, simple and effective aesthetic physique can be achieved through his programs. I had to scale back on the progressive overload protocol because I was growing too much on a cut.
If you can't do a long fast or 18:6 is because of this, you are not eating enough, second, you are not eating carbs, third, you are dehydrated, and lastly, you are not doing anything during the day, like procrastinating, and that makes everyone hungry in any meal. Best
Keto works perfectly with IF 18:6 if you´re fat adapted..and i dont buy into this "dont fast every day" thing. Doing it for a couple of weeks and then stoping it then doing it again is perfect
@MigueWell buddy, I think you're being a little too close minded here. If you were 300 lbs and you lost that much weight, good for you, I applaud you, but at the end of the day, you're nowhere near as muscular and shredded as these 2 guys so you can't compare apples with oranges. The CNS (central nervous system) is a lot more sensitive than you think. If you have that much muscle and load your body with a lot of weight lifting and certain physical activities, the CNS takes a toll and needs more replenishment than if you are your size. A diesel engine takes different fuel than a regular gasoline vehicle, right? The same applies for individuals. Every individual has a different threshold with cortisol, how their CNS operates and so on. You can't paint everybody on the same canvas and expect the same results.
I'm someone who did a lot of bodybuilding in my early 20's. Food has become a mental prison for me. "When was the last time ate?", "Did I eat enough?", "I should eat!", "I'm going to lose muscle!"... It was like a mental illness when I think of it now. And I had it even in periods when I wouldn't work out. Finding out about Intermittent Fasting was like taking a Red Pill. It was FREEDOM. Not only I didn't have to eat breakfast breakfast or early lunch, I didn't have to eat every 3 hours, but going without any calories actually helped my health and physique. As long as Ioaded up on food in the evening. It was a true liberation. And something very convenient to do. And on top of that when I discovered I.F I was just a few months on a vegan diet (not on it sinde 2019). It was 2 myths debunked at the same time. I didn't have to eat all the time to grow muscle. And I didn't even need to eat animal matter either! If you said it to me 10yrs ago I would laugh in your face and tell you to go F yourself
Thomas DeLauer! Loving the approach in reaching out to different people in the industry and asking these honest questions and getting honest answers.... when is the Liver King coming back? lol
Why count the fast from when you wake up (he keeps saying 8am)? However it’s all dependent on when your last meal was. Was it 6pm? Was it 9pm? Lots of other factors to digest (no pun intended).
Damn, Greg has actually arrived. He’s a legit fitness expert and is well rounded. He got flack back in the day for his cringe lol but he does indeed know what he’s talking about and has an excellent system. He’s also correct about prioritizing certain muscle groups when going for a certain look.
Exactly my take on things....btw Kino mojo has helped my physique. I'm 47 and looking more jacked than I have in a while with less workouts. Seems less is more sometimes. I use to live in the gym now 3 or 4 times a week for an hour and half is sufficient for building muscle
Totally changed my body with Kinobody in my late 20's, started from 0 with no athletic experience. I'm a very lazy person and it was the only thing that made sense to me, I actually think his marketing undersells it as like some hollywood physique program or whatever, I always thought of it as the smart man's program lol (work smarter not harder). Psychologically reverse pyramid training, not having to meal prep for 6 meals a day, fasting for simplicity, and only hitting 2-3 heavy workouts per week (he also doesn't go that hard on legs), it's just easier to do for the average dude and really does build a nice physique. It's too bad I fell off the last few years after covid while I was working on music and business, but I'm getting back on and I'll build the healthiest body I've ever had in the next couple of years I'm sure.
If you’re a big fatty do 24-48 fast Greg/Thomas are to lean to do that. If you’re over 20% do the longer fast don’t overeat when not fasting. Use the right tool for the right job. When you get lower body fat then shorten the fast.
I like 3 meals a day with as many snacks as I want in between for about 3 to 4 months followed by a 21 to 28 day water fast. Experimenting with lean and healthy aging.
Kinobody is the dude that I first heard about Intermittent Fasting from. I never really watched his stuff since but I.F has been a useful tool since 2016. I spent almost 3 years doing it every day.
I was using 5grams of creatine everyday for about 14 days and it destroyed my ability to sleep. It literally acted as a stimulant in my body, worst than caffeine in fact. I'm wondering if anyone else has this experience with creatine and or any idea why it might have interfered with my sleep. This is the opposite of what I hear others report, that creatine actually improves sleep.
Never have stres from a long fast .Most of the days a 21-22 hour fast being fitter than ever at age 59. Al my days working after that training 4 sometimes 5 days a week. Ik doing this for almost 7 years .and i lost 50 kg with it.
1. Shorter fast now. Fast for the first 5 hours of the day instead of fasting for the first 8 hours. The reason is because it takes a lot of willpower to go up to 8 hours and that can mean you overeat in your lunch and dinner to make up for it 2. When you get to 10-15 reps, you hit plateaus faster that’s why it’s better and easier to make strength gains on the 6-9 rep range
Sounds like time is yielding some valuable lessons for this kid. Machines are smarter. Fasting isn’t as great as we once thought it was. Higher reps are safer and just as good for building muscle. Supplements are HELLA overrated. Glad these guys are becoming wiser.
Great video. Interesting to hear about dialing back on long fasts. I'm probably in the 14:10 range nowadays. I'm 68, so I'm slightly amused about them talking about their age. Listen to me now and understand me later, enjoy your youth.
I'm 48 and follow most of what is discussed, but I would love to hear this conversation again in 15 years to see what else they change. "I remember when I used to lift 140#db's"😂
Doesn’t it take 3 days for the glycogen stored in the liver to be used up ? So to fasten for shorter amounts is useless (well it helps to restrict calories) plus gets in the way of keeping your muscles building optimally ?
I really like Greg, he very honest and tries to keep things simple. He realistic when it comes to food, I love the idea that he eats chocolate and ice cream. I hate the idea of being so restrictive in your diet.
So if you choose to do fasting and are following the 1st Phorm plan which includes drinking the Megawatt preworkout and then the Postworkout which has about 200 calories in 2 scoops, how would this work? I workout first thing in the morning. Wouldn’t this throw my fasting off because of the calorie intake?
Yes. If you are taking those products you aren't fasting. But if it is working for you, then that's all that needs said? I don't take products. I'm either eating food, or I'm not eating food. And that works for me.
I never saw this one coming..been in the greg camp for a while now. He's a lot more knowledgeable than people give him credit

@@SimplyHuman186 I think it can vary quite a bit from individual to individual. But if someone can maintain steady energy/blood sugar level and not be ravenously hungry once they start eating, then awesome.
Their training routines evolve over time. Good. This way things do not get stale.
Loving the guests you’ve been having on lately!
Life is meant to be lived in cycles, not ruts.
That last thing they talked about is something I'm currently strugling with. Gotta work on having a bit more freedom and not let fitness take over my life. But keeping the physique, not sacrificing it.
The collab we never even knew we wanted!
Thomas can we have Jeff Cavaliere next
in my early 40s, i'm actually transitioning to the lower 4-6 rep range, but i'm also not doing as much weight-lifting as before, only 2-days a week, while doing more cardio-related exercises on the remaining days of the week.
For me it's amazing if I stay true to no carbs I can go 1 meal a day no problem. I don't have cravings but I have to be no carbs for at least two weeks the my appetite subsidies. Always enjoy your videos
Big fan of Greg and his programs as well!
Greg is the kinda guy who collabs with Thomas Delauer, wearing a sleeveless shirt.
Best
Exactly. If you have all this, it's a matter of psychology
I personally do lower carb but still agree with the rest and glad others see this too.
Love this collab! 🔥
Love Greg, he actually is a natural.
Greg is pro carbohydrates and knows the prometabolic approach. His Road to Ripped podcast with Christopher Walker was good times.
Wish this video was longer good one for sure
Greg is why I started fasting 10 years ago before UA-cam popularity
Sooo happy to see this. Great spot !!
Greg the type of guy to get featured on a respected YT channel.
Great collab bravo
Thomas DeLauer! Loving the approach in reaching out to different people in the industry and asking these honest questions and getting honest answers.... when is the Liver King coming back? lol
Greg, the type of guy w……. Ah I can’t do it , I love the guy 😊
Why count the fast from when you wake up (he keeps saying 8am)? However it’s all dependent on when your last meal was. Was it 6pm? Was it 9pm? Lots of other factors to digest (no pun intended).
Too late! Y’all got me hooked on fasting at least 16 hrs. It works for me lol
Greg got my goals accomplished
Picking the heavier free weights up off the floor into postision for the lift is how many juries happen.
Gr8 information Gr8 interview
I was using 5grams of creatine everyday for about 14 days and it destroyed my ability to sleep. It literally acted as a stimulant in my body, worst than caffeine in fact. I'm wondering if anyone else has this experience with creatine and or any idea why it might have interfered with my sleep. This is the opposite of what I hear others report, that creatine actually improves sleep.
Very cool conversation.
Maachines are nice for home gym. The safety while not needing a spotter is great
Are we just going to pretend Thomas isnt wearing a taco bell shirt? I love it! 😂
Great video guys, you two got me on my journey which has helped immensely so big thank you gents 🥩💪👍🤟
Love both these guys!
Fun! Fun is key! Love this!
Kinobody spreading the word. 💪🔥😤
The reason is because it takes a lot of willpower to go up to 8 hours and that can mean you overeat in your lunch and dinner to make up for it
2. When you get to 10-15 reps, you hit plateaus faster that’s why it’s better and easier to make strength gains on the 6-9 rep range
Isn’t a 5 hour fast like the normal interval between meals for most people?
5 hours AFTER waking. He mentions fasting for 14 hours.
@@ThomasDeLauerOfficial Oh i see. Wasn’t paying enough attention
greg the type of guy to randomly do videos with thomas delauer
Love this ❤
Sounds like time is yielding some valuable lessons for this kid. Machines are smarter. Fasting isn’t as great as we once thought it was. Higher reps are safer and just as good for building muscle. Supplements are HELLA overrated. Glad these guys are becoming wiser.
if im 50 pounds over weight and I stop eating for a week and lift weights will i lose Muscle?
Great video! i love kinobody! in my opinion has the best physique.
So he does 16/8 fast only 3 days a week or more days?
thomas please do a video on Sacromyces boulardi
Martin Berkhan must be so proud of his prodigy 😵💫
Dammnn my two most watched content creators collab hahah
Doesn’t it take 3 days for the glycogen stored in the liver to be used up ? So to fasten for shorter amounts is useless (well it helps to restrict calories) plus gets in the way of keeping your muscles building optimally ?
I think it would go more from amount of glycogen. Less carbs the better
There is no way Taco Bell is the sponsor of his show. Their ingredients are TERRIBLE. There is no arguing this.
Greg: ...."like I used to do, when I was much younger."
57yo me: "hahahahahahahhhaahhahahahhahhhahahha." 😀
I really like Greg, he very honest and tries to keep things simple. He realistic when it comes to food, I love the idea that he eats chocolate and ice cream. I hate the idea of being so restrictive in your diet.
Holyshit no greg type of guy joke here. What a breath of fresh air
I got nothing from greg. His only superpower is his money..which i do respect. 😊
I love kinobody
So if you choose to do fasting and are following the 1st Phorm plan which includes drinking the Megawatt preworkout and then the Postworkout which has about 200 calories in 2 scoops, how would this work? I workout first thing in the morning. Wouldn’t this throw my fasting off because of the calorie intake?
Yes. If you are taking those products you aren't fasting.
But if it is working for you, then that's all that needs said?
I don't take products. I'm either eating food, or I'm not eating food. And that works for me.
Sweet, all my subs are on ur channel now!
