I'm so glad I found your videos today , I hate my stretch Mark's but after watching your videos I'm ready to hit the gym and change my diet forever with your help , thank you for what you do and who you are
Awesome transformation story and realistic too, unlike those magazines mentioned in the video. I'm struggling myself on my journey and I've had some bad things happen to me, but your heart- and truthful stories inspire and keep others going! Thank you Thomas.
In June of 2018 I was 396 lbs, on oxygen CPAP and heart meds, and close to suicide, by accident I went on Utube searching for acv, and ran into Thomas Delaure and he saved my life. In 1 year I was down 180 lbs. Thanks Thomas Delaure my hero.
Started at 348 pounds in October 2018 and intermittently fasted through July 2019 and lost 114 pounds of fat. I still intermittently fast and it’s been three years but I did stop for a little while just to recalibrate for a couple of months. I kept the weight off but could feel that it affected my mindset and etc. I’m still fasting and I’ve dropped another 24 pounds. In total, I’ve lost 138 pounds. No lose skin, no meds, no issues of any sort! I’m working out daily and my family is doing it as well. Not just my wife but my siblings and other family members as well! They also have great testimonials regarding fasting!
I feel you man, I went from 330 to 175 in about year and half doing my own thing, went back up to 300 after having a family and now I’m doing IF and Keto back down to 260 and going. I have the evidence all over my body, keep making videos and I’ll keep watching. You give me lots of inspiration to keep going
@@koala10ish Thomas does not have that power to transform someone body. Everyone is responsible for taking care of themselves and to do the right things. People are weak, lazy, no commitment, ,and that lead to their own perils. Cook your own meals, exercise, keeping active and respect the body. It's simple like that for a healthy life.
I’ve watched a lot of your videos. I’m 71 years olds, a lady, married 41 years, and have lost 105 lbs. THIS one really touches deeply! Thanks! It’s ok to figure it out, be alone sometimes, mess up and for me, pray then study more! ❤️❤️
Hi I am 77 and just starting this way of eating. I have to get over my fear of fat. I had quadruple bypass surgery almost 7 years ago. And was told eating fat was what caused it. So this makes me kind of nervous
@@Lurker01 here's how you can deal with fat loss plateau. I've had it a couple of times and was able to break it ua-cam.com/video/ZjrI0Pc9rD0/v-deo.html
It sounds strange but it feels incredibly good to hear someone say its ok to hate yourself. Instead of the fake "love yourself no matter what! blah blah blah." I'm in the rough patch where I'm a little angry and mad at myself for not seeing the results I want. I needed to hear hear this.
Thats a lie, a seed grows everytime you water it. You will have mental problems thinking its okay to freely hate yourself. Just want more from yourself and not hate yourself for wanting more. Make goals to go harder than last time.
I don't think it's okay to hate yourself. I think you can be upset with yourself. I think you can be frustrated with yourself, but hate is just too strong of a word. You don't have to be delusional about what the hell your body looks like, but you should love yourself for your flaws as well. Honestly, that's what I thought the body positivity move it movement was supposed to be about. Love yourself okay. Be honest with yourself. And do better.
Yes agree...I’m currently on keto and intermittent fasting only 4 days in and before this I was just doing regular diet and exercise and I wasn’t losing weight, I hated life, I hated myself, depressed, so after a coworker told me about keto I decide to try it and so far I love it.
I came across your videos by chance. As an 82 year old woman, I didn’t expect to relate to a young, muscular man’s point of view. Fortunately, you had a topic that interested me, so I watched. Im so glad I did. Your videos relate to everyone and they certainly affect me and my path. You are sincere, caring and knowledgeable. I watch different videos every day and share them with my family and friends. Thank you so much. You are making a vast difference in the world. I feel your support and it carries me through my journey.
I was trying for years to lose fat. It was really hard. Intermittent fasting was one hardest things I tried to do in my life. You need so much mental strength to go through day while fasting. Im currently experimenting with nextlevel diet and its working perfectly for me. 100% recommend.
201lbs last year, just clocked in at 150.9lbs. Trust the process, eat less, be consistent, and BE PATIENT. Good luck to everyone else on this journey. It’s hard before it’s easy but it’s worth it!
Thomas is actually the greatest person in the whole freaking industry, he has his own transformation story, his content is science based and the best part is that he’s 100% R E A L. This video is full of emotions and I’m sure it will hit deep in the feels of everyone..
And the great thing about it is, he has no political agenda. His info is based on peer reviewed science and not pushing any type of prescription to support big Pharma or an agenda.
Thomas is great, for sure, and I'm continually amazed at how many people are so giving and authentic in the keto/IF community. Once you've been through the journey and experienced the transformation, you have a desire to pay it forward, and help other people change their lives.
I am just mentally stressed!! Covid 19 has taken 2 jobs I love. I was fit, after 1 year without gym, life changing again, I apologize being so down, and being weak, overeating..... I started my fasting 20:4. Today is my second day. I like the challenge!!!! So appreciate your video!!!

Thanks to You and Dr Berg I have been intermittent fasting and low carb (around 80/100) for the past year...I abused my body for so long...At 75 now I walk 2 hours everyday of the week and lift weights every other day...my bloodwork is excellent and for the first time in many years my love handles are gone..I was pre diabetic and now my A1C is at 4.9 (started at 5.9). I feel great and will continue following fasting and low carb... Thanks for your help...you made a difference in my life....My family thanks you
Thank you for your post. I'm 58 and doing the change you did and you're telling me at 78 your love handles are gone, so that's inspiring! You are wonderful and strong, thank you.
Jeffry Greene nice! I hope you’re enjoying the journey. Kudos for being a great example to many of us. I also follow Dr. Berg & appreciate the clear concise delivery of his message.
This should be your home, Premier video. This says everything about you and who you are and what you believe. If I would’ve seen this when I first met you I wouldn’t have come so quickly to judge you. I believe most people are in agreement with me. Excellent video. We need more of these from the heart. Thank you 🙏🏼
I don’t think I’ve ever heard someone talk about the mental/emotional aspect of weight loss and transformation. That was so validating and encouraging. Thank you!
Thomas, after I lost 15 pounds using intermittent fasting, I received a lot of negative feedback from friends who are overweight. One of the negative side effects of weight loss is getting a lot of criticism for being healthy ! I think you should mention that weight loss may cause the loss of friends. I have to now make new friends !
Not your freinds! My mom is very fat and all my life when I would be dieting she would be jealous and told people I had anorexia even though I always had meat on me. Some people just dont wanna see others doing and looking better than them.
How has this not got like 20 Million views? THE MOST authentic, down to earth, humble, and REAL video on body transformation Ive seen, and to also add, THE MOST authentic fitness channel! No girls with their butts out at the gym, no extravagant BS, pure, real content, with information that will change so many lives. Im starting KETO and I.F. next week! Thanks Thomas!
I was intermittent fasting a year ago lost 40 lbs in six - seven months and i had back surgery in October and gained it all back , i needed this a lot . Thank you Thomas this one really touched home
Keto+lower calories+IF works but there are gotchas such as what to do with salts and how do you listen your body to stay healthy, and how to not dirty your keto. DeLauer got bunch of videos that help you tune on a good diet.
Same happened to me! I had lost 80lbs doing IF and keto. Than I had to have surgery and I gained 25lbs back. I'm ready to start this journey again with all the ups and downs and all! 💖
E E Well, Keto isn’t made for everyone! It’s a life style not a short term diet! And it’s recommended for people suffering from metabolic & hormonal issues that have no other choice than cutting the sugar forever!
Thank you for sharing your struggles. I have been widowed for 10 years and sometimes feel like I will be alone the rest of my life. Not many men are interested in a woman like me that is obese. But I have learned t love myself and I intend to be the best me for me. Thank you for all the education on what to do and for being real.
I feel you. I'm alone too We hv to love us, ok. There are men who do like plus size women!!! We are soft & cushioney...kmsl😂😂🤣🤣 Stop saying this to yourself.
@David W so I’d a doctor sells anything you are saying they are if no value ? So wouldn’t that mean under your logic every doctor working at hospitals are ether fake or not good? Try again Sounds like your just demanding free things and expect others to earn a living another way while providing free health care to you at no cost You One if those ginmie gimmie type?
Ive lost 100lbs myself, I resonated with everything you talked about! MENTAL Health is KEY... That one issue alone can not be stressed enough when seeking weightloss. It's not the food making you fat, it's the depression. GREAT honest video!
Thank you for sharing your stretch marks Thomas. My stretch marks have always caused me shame and embarrassment. After watching this video it made me come to realize that I may actually be able to embrace them one day rather than loathe them. I have been up and down with my weight for all of my 56 years. I am currently nearly 2 weeks back into keto, after over a year long relapse. Your journey is indeed an inspiration.
when people are open and honest there sincerity shines through Thomas you are a inspiration and much needed in the difficult times we are going through
Never apologize for Sponsors. You can't get your message out there without recurring revenue. I can tell you only go with products you can stand behind. Ps. Great video!
Sorry. Just hearing those first words, brought tears to my eyes. I’ve hated myself for so long, and all I hear is you need to like yourself before others like you. It makes you feel helpless. I’ve tried so many diets, and after the last one two years ago, I was diagnosed With autoimmune hepatitis and colitis, which sent me on a downward spiral and ended up gaining 4 stone that I can’t seem to shift. With this low carb attempted Keto, I feel better and I don’t seem to crave food all of the time. Thank you for you videos. I will keep watching and will hope to shed the pounds🤧😘
I used to look at you like, " Man he's CONSTANTLY FLEXING! He seems so VAIN!" . But after this video, I'm apologetic and realize I was judgmental. This one was so vulnerable and REAL! I heard every word with an amplifier and I now have MAD respect for you. Your struggle is our struggle and I thank you for your transparency.✌🏽🙏🏽
It is human to be judgmental. It is instinctual for survival. At 70 it's something I still struggle with daily. One thing that has helped me stop making snap judgements about people was to take the time to talk to people more. It is surprising how even a brief verbal interaction with someone can change our opinions about them. We never know the personal struggles that everyone deals with both in their past but daily. So, yes, listen to that, so called, gut feeling but also take a deep breath and be logical about it (sill a struggle for me). Thank you for posting your comments. Hopefully, it will help others to do the same. Matt's journey is certainly inspirational.
He works too hard to be hiding his body. He is proud of what he achieved. Someone should be able to show case there achievements without being called vain.
Wow, loved this msg from Thomas coming from the heart. In 2019 I lost 25lbs felt amazing and relapsed a year later gained it all back. On March 2021 I had to do it all over again, it was hard but I am happy to say that I lost the 25lbs again and I have a much healthier relationship with my body now. Thank you Thomas you are like a big brother in the keto community!
this was exactly what i needed to hear today. after losing 44 pounds and regaining it all back, you have once again inspired me to start over. I thank you for that.
Thomas. You are either the worlds greatest actor, or you are a legit, real person throwing your life out there for the betterment of others. I am pretty sure it is the latter as you don't come across at all as a "plastic" fake person. thanks for the insight and advice. Most of all thanks for sharing your experiences for all of us to use as inflection. I don't hate on anyone for making a living. If they do it for all the right reasons, there is no shame in making the money that comes with helping others. Kudo's to you.
I think he is a bit of both. Just sift through his content, use common sense and pick out the stuff that makes sense and ignore the bullshit. After all his goal is to make money.
Thomas has been a huge inspiration to my progress and helping show me the path to self love and being overall healthier. Start weight was 315lbs. Currently 240lbs! with about 40lbs to go!
Cheers! My start weight is the exact same and it sounds like we have the same target goal. I’m starting “again”, but I’m ready to conquer. Keep it going! Seeing your success is inspiring.
Your story is so much like mine. Used to do construction, went to the gym every day and ate like a horse. Changed Careers, gym stopped, stress elevated immensely. I gained 88lbs over 4 years. Finally went to the beach and saw ME in a photo. Was depressed. Started watching you channel and this past week started fasting from 6pm to 12 the following day. 4 days in I feel different. Thank you for what you do man. Your a great person.
Thank you for being brutally honest about your journey. I’m in the midst of a relapse and depression because I’ve just been diagnosed with CKD 3. I am inspired by the ups and downs you struggled with and yet you managed to overcome and get back to your goals. I need not to give up. That’s one of my goals. Important because of how easy that would be. I’m a single woman 68 in years.
Thank you Thomas. You've helped me change my life. If I hadn't accidentally come across your channel 18 months ago, I'd probably be well over 300lbs by now. With your guidance I've lost 65 lbs of fat. I have relapsed and I have "fallen off the the wagon" at points. But I'm ok with it. It helped me realize that this isn't just about losing weight. It's about changing my relationship with food and alcohol. If you ever need some Canadians on your team, I'm there. Thanks again. JL
Poor habits can ruin your life but its never too late to change your routine. Im 60 and still hopeful and changing my bad habits too. May The Lord and Thomas guide your journey!
That my brother was getting real! Keto and IM have been so instrumental in my life’s transformation, but it wasn’t until I learned how to control my thoughts and become mentally fit that I realized the real gains. Thank you for telling your story and letting people know it’s OK “not” to be OK all the time. Bringing in the mental aspect of physical well being is one of the missing links that so many others ignore or gloss over. Living from the heart, in the present, rather than from the ego and allowing the past and future to distort the now, will put everything positive into hyperdrive. Surround all of that with a healthy spiritual serenity and you become unstoppable. However, like you said, we all have relapses and bad days, sometimes bad weeks, but just be aware that this is part of the process of life. As we said in the military, “embrace the suck”...and move forward! Keep up the good work Thomas, it’s much appreciated.
Super inspiring! I weighed 260 over 10 years ago, plateaued at 200 to 205 and once in a while down to 195. I made a commitment to walk as many times a week and eat healthy and I am at 192 with a goal to get down to 170 to 175. Salute brother!
Thomas very proud of you for keeping it real🤜🤛 Went from running marathons in my 30’s to lifting in my 40’s because of knee pain. Then started fasting and I’m in the best shape of my life at 47💪💪
I’m a emotional eater. I have had a bad health situation happen to me and I gained 60 pounds. I’m on my journey this year and I found your videos. It’s like a pep talk. Thank you for this. I got this.
Love this story! I'm on my fasting journey started at 302 I'm 45 6'0 it's been 6 months and hard work but the scales at the doctors office this morning said 243. I'm making a choice to be around for my daughter thank you!! For the motivation and all the knowledge you share for free at that your awesome man.
I’m 7 weeks in to my transformation journey. Currently down 20 lbs of my 150 lb weight loss goal. I find tremendous inspiration in your journey, and your other videos have helped me learn to embrace and love the processes that go into weight loss. I’m so grateful I discovered your channel, IF, and finally decided to really take things serious and make a major change in my life.
Thomas you are what I call a “real” person.. thank you for your honesty and humility - but most of all the love 💕 you serve up.. it really comes through..👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼.. thank you young man.. continue to be “you”..💝
A lot of people think you care too much about marketing, money, and trying to overpraise intermittent fasting. Screw them. After this video I am 100% sure you’re a compassionate, caring, and warm guy that wants NOTHING but to help other people experience the same love and joy as you! Thomas, you’re the reason I started intermittent fasting and learning to overcome our base urges involving appetite. I don’t care what anybody says about you, you’re a great guy and your story makes me feel like I’m not alone! Thank you for being you, people like you are the reason the world is getting healthier, happier, and less afflicted by the horrors the food industry has tried to convince us are normal. Thank you so much♥️ Much love brother, I’m glad to see you’ve discovered your spirituality and your own personal power💯💯
For the first time in over a decade I’m under 200 lbs and have gained muscle. This man’s videos have helped me SO much through my progress. I’m only 6 months in and excited to see where it takes me!
I started my journey on June 1 at a weight I never thought I would be. I was always the skinny one! Now I have 100 pounds of fat to loose. Stress of loosing my job, my home, moving in with my family who didn’t have to care what they ate. Little by little, sitting around not being active, I gained 100 lbs over about 2 years. I made up my mind that I had to change, fast ... or I had to go buy new clothes at a bigger size than I ever did. I found low carb, and researching that I found you and learned how to make it work for me. Thank you for your experience and sharing your knowledge with us. I have learned a lot. I have lost 22 pounds in one month! A long way to go but I started, and that’s a bigger deal than anything!
I'm in the same exact situation as you! I haven't started my keto yet. What did you do to start losing weight? Just following Thomas? Or doing other things?
I’m hoping your results have been better than mine. I lost about 55 pounds up until last December. Too much stress in my life snd a lot of anti keto family members. But I felt so good and was actually looking good! I have gained some weight back but it’s time to get going again. My birthday is Monday so I’m giving my self until Tuesday! Gotta have cake for my big 65!! Then right back on track. I want to back to where I was by Christmas if not more. I still have 65 to go, by summer time I want to buy a new swim suit! Good luck to everyone.
Hey Thomas, I’m down 140 lbs from keto and intermittent fasting. I still have probably close to 20 pounds of fat on my body that I’d like to lose but I have plateaued hard. I was just diagnosed with epilepsy and because of that I can’t drive or work which is extremely stressful. You really open my eyes to what I need to fix thank you!!!!
Hi..., I'm 54, ha e been struggling with overweight and dozens of other health issues throughout my life. I watched many of your videos, I quite like you and your mission. I have to tell you that I think this video is maybe the most important one of all others.. I immediately sent it over to my 18 and 22 year old children. Because this video is not about food and diet..., it's about LIFE.... Thank you for your commitment and honesty.
Thomas, thank you. I am 100 lbs in. Now the hard 100. Great to hear your experience and strength. On a second serious plateau. Great to have you with me.
My educational background is Psychology...a blessing and a curse because I can read people so well. In the case of you and your video, it’s a blessing to know I’m looking at and listening to a genuine person with a genuine message. I wasn’t subscribed to your channel but came across this video and started to move on from it but decided to keep listening because of what I saw in your eyes - honesty. There aren’t many people like you left in this industry or this world for that matter, so this was a win for me because I really needed to hear this today. I’ve just begun IF but am still having problems with the mental part of what’s going on in my life. Your message has helped me to understand what it’s going to take to make this journey of mine successful. Thank you. You have my respect...and another subscriber!!
I've been through "earth shattering" transformations in my life. I too have inflicted damage to myself. More so internally. I went from lazy, depression and pissed off with myself. Made a dramatic change at the age of 14 and went down 3% body fat. I was hospitalized for anorexia. Recovered and went bulimic and gained a ton of weight. Lost it got in shape again have competed in a teen bodybuilding comp and won. Then I started to take it to the next level. I built muscle, healthily. I've been obsessed with the world of biohacking and physiology for quite sometime. But one thing Ive learned is that learning is great but.... The research is pointless without "insight". Good god your perspective and Outlook is so coralitive to my own. I Know what it's like..
I started out watching Indian Yogis on fasting which led me to Dr. berg and Dr. Ekberg's UA-cams on Keto and intermittent fasting. A couple of days ago on youtube, I found you Thomas Delauer. So far I have lost 70 lbs and I am enjoying the journey of real health and being conscious of eating and my body. I have found several of your videos tremendously helpful. But this video is one of the most profound, inspiring, and heartfelt I have ever watched anywhere. I paused the video at 15.30 to come in and leave feedback, something I have never done for anyone before. Now I am going back to finish the video. Thank you for being who you are and the light you share.
lost a 100 pounds in 7 months thank you so much for every thing you shared with us and thanks for this amazing community for supporting me in this journey love you all
I’m seeing that the reason I eat is 100% emotional. I eat to comfort myself. I’ve not been eating to live, I’ve been living to eat, for the distraction that eating affords me. As I’ve started an IF plan, I’ve come to this realization.
Thank you Brother. I am changing spiritually, physically, and mentally. As a Pastor of a Baptist Church in Lansing, MI, I am better than ever because of Keto, exercise, and even yoga. I am better on the road to becoming Great. Maxing Out!
Research Yoga.. as a Christian that's something you shouldn't be doing. I say this kindly. I used to do it with other workouts and stretches. Until, I read what an ex-yoga instructor who became a Christian shared information about it that made me repent. Please do research. If the root is bad, the fruit is bad. I pray that the LORD will lead you in JESUS MIGHTY Name amen.
My phase of transformation is me coming to terms with my eating disorder. Your videos have helped me tremendously begin to recover on a healthy path of truly understanding my body's relationship with food. I've suffered from anorexia almost my whole life - and I have always dealt with it alone. Your videos are here to help people with weight loss, but you help me with healthy weight gain and understanding the DIFFERENCE between fasting and starving, eating and binging and health and fitness. I want to say thank you and keep doing everything you do .
I woke up one day and I was 310 lbs. Today I am down 46lbs and still have another 60 to lose but my goal is just the next pound. This video was just what I needed to hear. I have thought about this over the last 4 months as the brain fog started to lift many things about myself started to pop up and it was time to deal with them. Today I am feeling better mentally and physically than I have since I was in my teens. I cant wait to see how I feel through the rest of the journey. Great video it is really supportive that you are able to share your experiences with us. It really helps us make sense of our own journey.
I'm all or nothing too and I have relapsed so many times. What he says here is so relatable. Its gold. It feels good to know that we are capable of getting back to a better self. :)
It is really eye opening to see that even the ones that look elite like him, also struggles with life's normal challenges. Thank you for this video, it's inspiring.
You’ve inspired me to loose 170lbs and I have to loose another 100. I’ve relapsed many times most recently, during the pandemic. But I always go back to keto and fasting because it makes mu body feel better. I’m also a chef and surrounded by food all the time so that bothered me at first, but I enjoy making all my own keto foods. It keeps my culinary creativity up and active. I know you probably won’t ever read this but on the off chance you do I just want to say thank you for your videos. It’s lead me to change my life for the better! I wouldn’t have been able to do it with out you for those 170 lbs and I’m glad you are hear for the last 100!
This is one of your best videos! You speak from the heart. I love the snippets of you with your wife, kids, and dogs. I am a critical care nurse with MDD (especially anxiety) from long Covid. I haven’t worked in over 3 years. My weight climbed to 300#. Since March 1st, I made a commitment to improve my health with keto, IF, and walking. I’m down to 235#. My goal is 180#. Anxiety still haunts me. Thank you for putting yourself out there to inspire and inform others. All the best!
7 years ago I thought my weight loss journey was complete. Through Intermittent Fasting and a Paelo diet I lost 100 pounds. Spent the last 7 years taking my eye off the ball and lying to myself. Gained all the weight back, plus a little. Started Keto yesterday in large part due to these videos. Here goes round 2.
Thomas!! Your testimony resonates with me! At six months I have lost 90 lbs. But my story has been forming for over 20 years, I am excited about what's ahead. Thank you for your mission to help others!!
The mental health peice is so key. What fasting does is allow you to make the mind and body connection. Thank you for sharing your story. You are an inspiration! The world thrive on kindness.
I have been a huge fan of your channel for two years now and I have never came across this video before until tonight and it came at the perfect time. Crazy how the world works, I was 235 lbs when I found you I got in deep strict clean keto for 6 month went down to 185 then went down a bad road of behaviors for almost 9 month. put a few pound back on. Anyway back into again 2023 for about 4 month now and im at 155 and look ok. I relapsed last week on cereal and been having a bowl every night now and even stopped the gym. I have been struggling mentally all week and spiraling down hill with everything. This video just gave me encouragement to except it that im human and get ahold of my goals again not to give in. Thank you.
This video couldn't come up at a better time. I have relapsed on my health journey. In July 2018, I weighed 230+ lbs and made a change by starting intermittent fasting. By January 2020 I was 155 lbs. Then the pandemic happened. Stress and depression settled as part of my life. I still kept up healthy habits but my junk food addiction sneaked back up very gradually. I gained 25 lbs since then. I am almost 180 lbs right now. I am looking at myself in the mirror and all I see are the love handles and man boobs.
Great story. Mine isn't half as impressive but there are some similarities. After I started lifting I put on +40lbs (including fat). Finally, I realized it and tried classical calorie-restriction and low-fat. I lost weight but I was horribly hard. A few years later, I discovered IF and keto and that changed everything!
I am just now starting on my wellness journey. For years I have struggled with my weight, however; now that I am older it’s affecting me more. I feel like my weight is what is getting in the way of my dreams and many things I want to do. N I thought to myself that it was all mental. I just didn’t know how to put into words everything that I felt and was going through to finally find a solution and your video was it. I pray great abundance and health on you and your family. The world needs to hear this and the world needs people like you. Putting everything on the line to make a difference. Thank you!
The mental health piece def makes sense. My daughter passed away she was 18months old, I gained 100lbs in less then 9 months. Mental health affects your physical health 100%. Ive been on a keto diet for a month now and have lost 15lbs. I do weekly weight checks with my doctor too. Thanks for helping us and sharing your story.
Thank you. Sincerely thank you. I found you after I started my journey in August 2019 but glad I did! I haven't started intermittent fasting (I may be saving that for when I hit a plateau to give me a kick in the butt) but I've lost 85 lbs so far and approx another 60lbs to go! Eating healthy (and making this part as easy as possible so I don't have excuses), eating less, and exercise. I've been overweight since 4th grade (I'm 38 now) so I finally decided I wanted to be the best me possible! Thank you for your advice! I've even added Matcha you recommended and avacado into my diet the last month after your videos. Best wishes to you and your family!
@@leliu5thelement448 Thank you! It's been a good, and at times difficult, journey. But this time it's about being healthy, not weight loss for the sake of weight loss so that makes this much easier mentally. Thanks for your kind words Leliu!

Been meal prepping every sunday, chicken sweet potatoes, and a veggie (this week asparagus), switch up the starch every week, try to get around 1800 calories. IF is awesome. Mentally i feel sharper in all areas of life, funny how your weight loss focus makes you more mindful of everything!
Thanks for this video. It really registered with me. Just started intermittent fasting three weeks ago. 44 years old and had a hard time putting on my socks and shoes I was 390lbs. Made me mad as hell because I was in great shape 6 years before. Today: I'm down to 360 lbs and my feet are not swollen anymore and I'm starting to see a positive change in my outlook. The advice in this video I will try to be aware of is the mental game in this process. Particularly in being ok with being alone. I too have a really good wife and two great kids so I am not truly alone but your right they can't go where I need to go. They are behind me though supporting me. Food is a terrible addiction and it is hard to get started but once you see results it is so addicting. Recommend for people starting to get a body fat scale: They are so cheap now. It has helped me get through some difficult days where my will power was lacking. The positive reinforcement of body fat going down really is helping me. What do I know though? I'm still 360 lbs and I just started my journey to a better and healthier me. Thanks Thomas
Hey Thomas, even years after you made this, it is still touching and teaching people, me included. It’s a deep look in the mirror and thank you for you opening your heart and guts to the audience. Be blessed, you are being heard and making a difference. Thank you ❤
Why would you think people will hate you for your videos? I see you get a lot of love and gratitude. I think people allow for you to make a living at the same time as sharing from your heart. Count your blessings and lower your defense a little - enough to see where the punches come from or if they come at all - situational awareness . There are two motivating factors in this entire universe : fear and love . If you make sure love motivates you and you feel it, you are alright even if you are a little scared sometimes. If fear drives you , no amount of love or cleverness will help you. You will eventually fail and feel it . Thank you for sharing!
Much respect. This is exactly how far I have to go, 100 pounds... and it seems SO FAR away! Your story is very uplifting and gives me encouragement that maybe I can do it as well I do agree that fasting is the key. I could not agree more about stress and getting control over that first. Feeling great so far! You are amazing, thank you!
I stumbled upon this video and I’m so happy I watched this because I started keto and fell off and then started and fell off again. I wasn’t happy with myself and watching this video made me realize that my mental health has a lot to do with it. And I have hate towards myself but I know after this video, I’m not the only one. I can do this 💪🏼 Thanks Thomas
I just found Thomas DeLauer yesterday and I feel like a sponge! I just can't get enough of his videos. I love that he EXPLAINS what is important and what to stay away from on Keto, and he explains in layman's terms. Knowledge is power!
Dear Thomas, I’m a new subscriber, I have watched at least half a dozen videos, and just watched this segment on your story. I found myself resonating and feeling very inspired, tears began to well up. Thank you for all your help so far. I’ve Started intermittent fasting this week and already I see inflammation going way down. I’m 49 happily married and have three children. I have been struggling with autoimmune, leaky gut syndrome, insulin resistance and sluggish thyroid issues. I’ve always eaten healthy mostly Mediterranean I’m Italian so of course I love dairy, breads, and pasta, but the gluten and dairy of our times has been brutal on me. My husband and I are in the entertainment industry I’m not any more but you can imagine the stress of not being able to control your weight and wanting to be as healthy as possible. I have not been able to lose a decent amount of weight in about nine years. I’m glad I found alternative medicine where these doctors could actually tell me what was going on so all those symptoms that I just mentioned couldn’t be read when I went for regular blood tests. I am just getting the courage now to start again with the help of your videos and by the grace of God I may succeed this time. The last thing I’ll share is you might want to look into the ancient Othodox Christian faith the monastics have been living and eating like intermittent fasting for thousands of years it is why cancer is so low on places like Mt Athos they’re very healthy and slim. When you spoke about meditation and healthy thinking I think it’s crucial; it is something that I’ve had to change over the years there is a great book called “your thoughts determine your life” by an elder by the name of Elder Thaddeus it talks about the power of our thoughts something that has been practiced for thousands of years in the Eastern Christian Faith. This is probably the second time I’ve ever commented on anything; So thanks again Thomas. Truly grateful

It sounds strange but it feels incredibly good to hear someone say its ok to hate yourself. Instead of the fake "love yourself no matter what! blah blah blah." I'm in the rough patch where I'm a little angry and mad at myself for not seeing the results I want. I needed to hear hear this.
it's ok to hate yourself :0....It shocked at me first but at the end I think is the first step to improve
Hate is the most powerful emotion & amazing motivator

Continue to look at people that way! Your world will forever change for the better!

For the first time in over a decade I’m under 200 lbs and have gained muscle. This man’s videos have helped me SO much through my progress. I’m only 6 months in and excited to see where it takes me!
How is this guy SO REAL😭😭 This story really touched me and love his transparency, but I also love how emotionally cognizant he is, too.
Amen
Thats awesome
Have you tried keto for the epilepsy? It's a common diet for people with it (of course, checkwith your doctors).
I’ve hit a plateau also after going from 250lbs to 185lbs. Don’t know what to do!
@@CrAzZyM0nK3Y97 You need to readjust your food intake/exercise, because your RMR decreases as you lose weight.
Nicholas Mulyawan whats RMR?
Thomas DeLauer
and Dr. Berg saved my life. Thank you for what you do.
Thank you for being who you are and the light you share.
lost a 100 pounds in 7 months thank you so much for every thing you shared with us and thanks for this amazing community for supporting me in this journey love you all
I wish I had found you many years ago. Weight loss has always been a struggle. Your videos are an inspiration.
Acknowledge what you feel but act on what you know

I can so relate to this. I am so all or nothing.
Why am I crying through this video?!!!
Ditto I was crying as well. I am all or nothing as well.
I'm all or nothing too and I have relapsed so many times. What he says here is so relatable. Its gold. It feels good to know that we are capable of getting back to a better self. :)
@@inigoacuna2184 All or nothing, yep that's me. 2 months into my journey, down 16 lbs with IF and calorie deficit daily, great video.
You're gonna do fine, Ed. More support and info than ever now!
Never give up !!!
How are you getting on? best of luck to you
You got this
You can do it
Thomas!! Your testimony resonates with me! At six months I have lost 90 lbs. But my story has been forming for over 20 years, I am excited about what's ahead. Thank you for your mission to help others!!
Got my sub man. Decided to change my life 5 days ago and you are a breathe of fresh air. Some of the best fitness advice I've ever heard
I lost 10 lbs before the holidays in my 50 lb weight loss journey gained it all back!!! 😠 Thanks for the encouragement!!!💯🥊
This episode is definitely in my top 5 favorites! I wish you well Thomas.
🙏♥️🙏
Thanks Thomas for always being honest and straightforward, and that is why the people support you and watch your videos.
WOW that is awesome
@@leliu5thelement448 Thank you! It's been a good, and at times difficult, journey. But this time it's about being healthy, not weight loss for the sake of weight loss so that makes this much easier mentally. Thanks for your kind words Leliu!
@@JonLabbe Do you have loose skin?
@@Ephemeraltrip Not yet, but I have another 60+ lbs before I expect to see any. I am mentally preparing for it and trying some preventive things (which as we all know may be a fools game).
@@JonLabbe i'm with you bro! i'm also 38, got married at 195 instantly gained 25 lbs been hovering 266-270 since. Down 13 lbs, now at 253.7 looking to drop 60 more!
Thank you ❤
Youre the only "health" guy I watch anymore, real results and sustainability, not just pushing product and ideology. Thanks dude.
This is what I like about tom: he doesnt get into a rabbit hole about his life and is an absolute straight shooter. Its refreshing
Dear Thomas,
I’m a new subscriber, I have watched at least half a dozen videos, and just watched this segment on your story.
Thomas you're amazing dude.Keep being this real version of yourself
So damn encouraging. A real life story told with genuine humility. Thank you.
This video really hit me and made me tear up a couple of times. Thank you for being so real and so encouraging. Your videos are helping me to stay motivated during a really difficult time.
I literally had tears listening to u, it really shows the amount of dedication u hav given to it and be passionate about talking about it
