Started at 348 pounds in October 2018 and intermittently fasted through July 2019 and lost 114 pounds of fat. I still intermittently fast and it’s been three years but I did stop for a little while just to recalibrate for a couple of months. I kept the weight off but could feel that it affected my mindset and etc. I’m still fasting and I’ve dropped another 24 pounds. In total, I’ve lost 138 pounds. No lose skin, no meds, no issues of any sort! I’m working out daily and my family is doing it as well. Not just my wife but my siblings and other family members as well! They also have great testimonials regarding fasting!

I don't think it's okay to hate yourself. I think you can be upset with yourself. I think you can be frustrated with yourself, but hate is just too strong of a word. You don't have to be delusional about what the hell your body looks like, but you should love yourself for your flaws as well. Honestly, that's what I thought the body positivity move it movement was supposed to be about. Love yourself okay. Be honest with yourself. And do better.

it made me come to realize that I may actually be able to embrace them one day
    rather than loathe them.
I have been up and down with my weight for all of my 56 years.
I am currently nearly 2 weeks back into keto, after over a year long relapse.
Your journey is indeed an inspiration.

Sorry. Just hearing those first words, brought tears to my eyes. I’ve hated myself for so long, and all I hear is you need to like yourself before others like you. It makes you feel helpless.
I’ve tried so many diets, and after the last one two years ago, I was diagnosed
With autoimmune hepatitis and colitis, which sent me on a downward spiral and ended up gaining 4 stone that I can’t seem to shift. With this low carb attempted Keto, I feel better and I don’t seem to crave food all of the time.
Thank you for you videos. I will keep watching and will hope to shed the pounds🤧😘

It is human to be judgmental. It is instinctual for survival. At 70 it's something I still struggle with daily. One thing that has helped me stop making snap judgements about people was to take the time to talk to people more. It is surprising how even a brief verbal interaction with someone can change our opinions about them. We never know the personal struggles that everyone deals with both in their past but daily. So, yes, listen to that, so called, gut feeling but also take a deep breath and be logical about it (sill a struggle for me). Thank you for posting your comments. Hopefully, it will help others to do the same. Matt's journey is certainly inspirational.

That my brother was getting real! Keto and IM have been so instrumental in my life’s transformation, but it wasn’t until I learned how to control my thoughts and become mentally fit that I realized the real gains. Thank you for telling your story and letting people know it’s OK “not” to be OK all the time. Bringing in the mental aspect of physical well being is one of the missing links that so many others ignore or gloss over. Living from the heart, in the present, rather than from the ego and allowing the past and future to distort the now, will put everything positive into hyperdrive. Surround all of that with a healthy spiritual serenity and you become unstoppable. However, like you said, we all have relapses and bad days, sometimes bad weeks, but just be aware that this is part of the process of life. As we said in the military, “embrace the suck”...and move forward! Keep up the good work Thomas, it’s much appreciated.

Lost it got in shape again have competed in a teen bodybuilding comp and won. Then I started to take it to the next level. I built muscle, healthily. 7 years ago I thought my weight loss journey was complete. Through Intermittent Fasting and a Paelo diet I lost 100 pounds. Spent the last 7 years taking my eye off the ball and lying to myself. Gained all the weight back, plus a little. Started Keto yesterday in large part due to these videos. Here goes round 2.

I have been a huge fan of your channel for two years now and I have never came across this video before until tonight and it came at the perfect time. Crazy how the world works, I was 235 lbs when I found you I got in deep strict clean keto for 6 month went down to 185 then went down a bad road of behaviors for almost 9 month. put a few pound back on. Anyway back into again 2023 for about 4 month now and im at 155 and look ok. I relapsed last week on cereal and been having a bowl every night now and even stopped the gym. I have been struggling mentally all week and spiraling down hill with everything. This video just gave me encouragement to except it that im human and get ahold of my goals again not to give in. Thank you.

This video couldn't come up at a better time. I have relapsed on my health journey. In July 2018, I weighed 230+ lbs and made a change by starting intermittent fasting. By January 2020 I was 155 lbs. Then the pandemic happened. Stress and depression settled as part of my life. I still kept up healthy habits but my junk food addiction sneaked back up very gradually. I gained 25 lbs since then. I am almost 180 lbs right now. I am looking at myself in the mirror and all I see are the love handles and man boobs.

Great story. Mine isn't half as impressive but there are some similarities. After I started lifting I put on +40lbs (including fat). Finally, I realized it and tried classical calorie-restriction and low-fat. I lost weight but I was horribly hard. A few years later, I discovered IF and keto and that changed everything!

I am just now starting on my wellness journey. For years I have struggled with my weight, however; now that I am older it’s affecting me more. I feel like my weight is what is getting in the way of my dreams and many things I want to do. N I thought to myself that it was all mental. I just didn’t know how to put into words everything that I felt and was going through to finally find a solution and your video was it. I pray great abundance and health on you and your family. The world needs to hear this and the world needs people like you. Putting everything on the line to make a difference. Thank you!

The mental health piece def makes sense. My daughter passed away she was 18months old, I gained 100lbs in less then 9 months. Mental health affects your physical health 100%. Ive been on a keto diet for a month now and have lost 15lbs. I do weekly weight checks with my doctor too. Thanks for helping us and sharing your story.

Thank you. Sincerely thank you. I found you after I started my journey in August 2019 but glad I did! I haven't started intermittent fasting (I may be saving that for when I hit a plateau to give me a kick in the butt) but I've lost 85 lbs so far and approx another 60lbs to go! Eating healthy (and making this part as easy as possible so I don't have excuses), eating less, and exercise. I've been overweight since 4th grade (I'm 38 now) so I finally decided I wanted to be the best me possible! Thank you for your advice! I've even added Matcha you recommended and avacado into my diet the last month after your videos. Best wishes to you and your family!

Thanks for this video. It really registered with me. Just started intermittent fasting three weeks ago. 44 years old and had a hard time putting on my socks and shoes I was 390lbs. Made me mad as hell because I was in great shape 6 years before. Today: I'm down to 360 lbs and my feet are not swollen anymore and I'm starting to see a positive change in my outlook. The advice in this video I will try to be aware of is the mental game in this process. Particularly in being ok with being alone. I too have a really good wife and two great kids so I am not truly alone but your right they can't go where I need to go. They are behind me though supporting me. Food is a terrible addiction and it is hard to get started but once you see results it is so addicting. Recommend for people starting to get a body fat scale: They are so cheap now. It has helped me get through some difficult days where my will power was lacking. The positive reinforcement of body fat going down really is helping me. What do I know though? I'm still 360 lbs and I just started my journey to a better and healthier me. Thanks Thomas

Why would you think people will hate you for your videos? I see you get a lot of love and gratitude. I think people allow for you to make a living at the same time as sharing from your heart. Count your blessings and lower your defense a little - enough to see where the punches come from or if they come at all - situational awareness .
There are two motivating factors in this entire universe : fear and love . If you make sure love motivates you and you feel it, you are alright even if you are a little scared sometimes. If fear drives you , no amount of love or cleverness will help you. You will eventually fail and feel it . Thank you for sharing!

Your story is very uplifting and gives me encouragement that maybe I can do it as well I do agree that fasting is the key. I could not agree more about stress and getting control over that first. Dear Thomas,
I’m a new subscriber, I have watched at least half a dozen videos, and just watched this segment on your story. I found myself resonating and feeling very inspired, tears began to well up. Thank you for all your help so far. I’ve Started intermittent fasting this week and already I see inflammation going way down. I’m 49 happily married and have three children. I have been struggling with autoimmune, leaky gut syndrome, insulin resistance and sluggish thyroid issues.
I’ve always eaten healthy mostly Mediterranean I’m Italian so of course I love dairy, breads, and pasta, but the gluten and dairy of our times has been brutal on me.
My husband and I are in the entertainment industry I’m not any more but you can imagine the stress of not being able to control your weight and wanting to be as healthy as possible. I have not been able to lose a decent amount of weight in about nine years. I’m glad I found alternative medicine where these doctors could actually tell me what was going on so all those symptoms that I just mentioned couldn’t be read when I went for regular blood tests.
I am just getting the courage now to start again with the help of your videos and by the grace of God I may succeed this time. The last thing I’ll share is you might want to look into the ancient Othodox Christian faith the monastics have been living and eating like intermittent fasting for thousands of years it is why cancer is so low on places like Mt Athos they’re very healthy and slim. When you spoke about meditation and healthy thinking I think it’s crucial; it is something that I’ve had to change over the years there is a great book called “your thoughts determine your life” by an elder by the name of Elder Thaddeus it talks about the power of our thoughts something that has been practiced for thousands of years in the Eastern Christian Faith.
This is probably the second time I’ve ever commented on anything; So thanks again Thomas. Truly grateful
