The fact that your documenting the whole race from race tactics to numbers froth is quite enjoyable but to go on and win the race is just outrageous. Well done
Hi Chris. Thank you very much for taking the time and effort to provide coverage of the G2I. A big thank you to the Auriolc photography and Mat Gilfedder. Having previously raced the Grafton many years ago this brought back some good memories (although I may not classify Gibraltor as a good memory given I am a larger rider). I hope that through your channel and the power of social media that you may be able to provide content of other races. We used to have some fantastic racing, Nygan to Dubbo, Muswellbrook to Tamworth, Goulburn to Liverpool to name a few. Any and all footage you can provide combined with your insights into each race will be great. Race data and outputs will also be interesting. Keep up the informative, positive social media content 👍
Excellent, well done Chris! Great coverage, love these videos. Would love a recap of how you trained and planned your nutrition and bike spec included in these.
Love the video and IMO it's a good balance between numbers, tactics, logistics, in-race footage, as well as the personal stuff. For me, it's having all those elements that really makes a race recap interesting. Congrats on the win! And to be able to capture on bike footage of the race and to be able to put together such a great capsule of the win - I hope this video blows up and does mad numbers, but even if it didn't, f'ing amazing to be able to wrap up a day to remember in this way.
Congratulations on the win, Chris. I’m sure having your parents as support crew made the winning difference in your heart. It’s truly wonderful that you could share that experience together.
It’s a wonderful thing to have your parents in your life. It’s even more wonderful they supported you in your cycling. It’s absolutely bonkers they handed you your nutrition and nothing was dropped! Great video again and you inspire me to do races like this in the future.
Congratulations 🎉🎉🎉 Big effort! My first instinct was to come from Canada and come race next year!! For feedback I'd say ask for a couple of people's commentary on what happened when you dropped them or when you said a move happened. If they can remember it 😂
New to the channel and just blown away. Very appreciative of the content...these videos and the content that you and Jesse generate...I am here for it all...happy to go into the weeds on the gear chat, will defo pull out the popcorn for the gossip and really enjoy the training talk. I have just returned to training in slightly...actually completely mental way and have got a tonne out of the content. Having found the channel I am now going all in...obviously....as here I am on a 8 month old video. Commenting really just to show support for your work and effort...and because I know it helps the channel. Great effort and happy to consume more of this race content both on road and on gravel...and as interested in the story behind the story as I am in the race itself.
BEAST!!!! Greeting from Canada and great race CM!! Love the podcast and videos!! Am a 54yr old firefighter and dedicated mtn biker, gravel and fat biker. Spend countless hours on the trainer in the winter and watch all your vids!! Keep it up both you and Jesse!
Very enjoyable watch. Would love more of a data break down with Nutrition. Eating the night before, day off, during ride and maybe anything you would have done different. For the professional amatures out there this is great content.
I wasn't a big fan of the music selected, but could go with it (and that's obviously personal). However, I thought the video was remarkable. You managed to convey the action, the uncertainty, the excitement and the tactics completely....and you are Joe Solo. Getting the guy on the motorbike to carry the Go Pro was genius and he did a great job. Nice to see your parents involved( really nice touch) and the feed station hand overs were slick. Lots of hardwork, ignoring the ride. Really good job.
This is FANTASTIC. Great footage, insightful but calm commentary. Congratulations on the win:-‘no close-but-no-cigar’, ‘valiant effort, maybe another day’, ‘mechanical/fuelling/weather/too many good riders’ excuses, any of which would’ve still have been a good video; you just rode off and won the bloody thing. Well done Chris - this is properly inspirational.
Wowsers congrats Chris Awesome ride mate 🎉 Content was very enjoyable and wow mum and dad how good your very special to them for them to still be doing those sorts of support act for u amazing Really cherish every moment with them that reminded me off when my mum and dad use to follow behind me in their car around Horsley park back 30 years ago when I was training with their hazards light on Really enjoyed the content Ps where was Jesse
That’s awesome to read, cheers for the comment. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. As for Jesse, the longer we keep him away from these races the better … he’s a bit too good.
Really nicely edited video recap. Great mix of information, racing, and scenery. It would be wise of the race organizers to reach out about using some of the footage to promote next year's event. Anything coming up on the calendar? More gravel?
This video was soooo good! Your editing and voiceover told me all I needed to know about a race I didn't need to know anything about 😂. Brilliant day out, well done!
Thanks for making the video and show casing the racing. I’m so glad you were able to despite the camera issues! It’s massive just to do it, but to win your class and share it with your parents is super. They would have loved it too I am sure. Chapeau!
Congratulations 🎉 🎉🎉 Edits are awesome, getting better and better! I have no advice to offer, since not in this lifetime can I edit anything close to your race recaps.
I think a video about your training and preparation for a big race like this would be cool. Jesse did a video about coming back from the off season a year or so ago, and I found that pretty useful.
Loved this mate! Great footage of the race and route, gear and nutrition talk is key (maybe a bit more gear talk haha), length of the video was perfect. Congrats to the win, I rate the podcast too!
Really enjoyed the format and edit on this, Chris - great to watch and intriguing insight as to your tactics and adapting to changing circumstances on the road. Superb result also !
Well made video! Abolutely love race reviews like this. The combination of footage and voice-over with information and thoughts throughout the race is awesome.
Great vid, would love to see cycling Australia jump on board with you. You can promote these races. It shows what it’s about would be great to get some internationals to peaks challenge and other events like you mentioned. Keep it up and great to share with the folks 👍🏻
Great vid and very informative on race craft. Question on fuelling, 250g sugar flask - soft container with 250g sugar mixed in water? Hefty going but sure it helped while on the gas..
Fantastic ride congratulations! Really appreciated the crosswalk of race objectives by phase (for example, “reactive vs pro-active”, and the brief description of the scheme of nutrition to support the winning race. By far the best breakdown I’ve seen. Well done!
Incredible recap and awesome race! I think you did a great job of taking good things from guys like Dylan Johnson, VC and put your own spin on it. Would love to see more content like this
That was fun, I enjoyed your discussion of strategy and sort of by-the-minute thinking during a long race. Almost makes me want to try road racing (I race track) :-).
Great vid of the race. Cool having footage from the moto too, which just added another dimension. Seeing onboard footage, power, and then a view from the moto was great. And man you're strong to get away on those climbs. I've ridden in Australia just in one mass start amateur race/sportive and there are lots of really strong riders in Oz all the way through the ranks. Not like they're a bunch of easy beats that one can just turn up to after a few weeks training and expect to win as the level is quite high. Cool seeing these races I've heard about, and getting a feel for them too. Thx
The fact that your documenting the whole race from race tactics to numbers froth is quite enjoyable but to go on and win the race is just outrageous. Well done
Cheers Andrew! I got lucky
You rode a smart race to plan including fuelling. You went harder on the hill as planned and it paid dividends. A winning strategy and well deserved.
@@ChrisMillerCycling Putting in all the training, having a plan, and making that plan work isn't luck my friend. Congrats on a well executed race.
spoiler alert
It just held its speed ❤ congrats mate!
I am hearing in Chris' voice: "100%" 😂
So cute to have your mom and dad supporting at the feed zone. Thats awesome.
yeh it was cool, thanks man.

Congratulations on the win! I remember winning the grafton back in 2002, good memories
Congratulations! That was fun to watch. Great breakdown.
Great video.
Great ride
Great win

Your parents are awesome, I love that when parents come out at any age, always great to see.
Overall, that video was a more gripping and excellently edited and put together recap than any pro tour race I've ever seen 😮
These race videos are super professional. I like how you blend race commentary with commentary on the course and segments
I'm glad you got your missing insta360 back!
He states in the video he did not get it back. Chris must have been carrying another camera also.
Excellent, well done Chris! Great coverage, love these videos. Would love a recap of how you trained and planned your nutrition and bike spec included in these.
Congrats! Stellar effort with great pay-off! Some extra love for mum and dad helping out! Gonna be a great memory to cherish!

My boy Chris putting down the hammer. Thanks for putting this together Big Hoss!
8:45 lol your shadow looks like it's at a club, dancing perfectly in rhythm with the beat. Even Chris's shadow is a total Chad.
Would love to see the sorts of training sessions you do to prepare
It was 100% entertaining. Reminds me of Dylan Johnson and that's a great thing. Now I want to see Jesse do a race recap too!

Really enjoyed this. You made it look easy but your tactics and patience was the reason.
Awesome Stuff Chris so pleased for you and great to have your Mum and Dad there to support you and see you take the win 🏆 🥰
Very enjoyable watch. Would love more of a data break down with Nutrition. Eating the night before, day off, during ride and maybe anything you would have done different. For the professional amatures out there this is great content.
Will do. We had a serious conversation about my carb load on the show.
THe scene at 12:04 is gorgeous.
Great job! You can tell a lot of work went into both the video production and the EFFORT to win the race. Well done. 👍🏻

Very nicely edited! Was a joy to watch. Any chance we could get an update on Jay Vine in the next Nero Show?
Well played Chris, fantastic upload.

Awesome job on the video and race. You consistently do a great job editing and narrating. More please.
Really good, well put together race recap.. more of this!! :)
Impressive effort! Personally, I like the inclusion of the nutrition, gearing data, etc -- that's some direct insight you rarely get!
Awesome, thank you!
