Originally planned as a season-length adaptation of Stephen King's epic novel IT, the 1990 TV mini-series makes the most of its three hour runtime and is packed with Things You Missed including leftovers from cut parts of the story, easter eggs, references to the book, connections to Stephen King's work and life, interesting tidbits and more.
In this video I'll be breaking down Part 2 of 2 and commentating to give my analysis and and interpretation of every little detail in It, such as notes about The Losers Club: Bill, Ben, Eddie, Beverly, Mike Stan and Richie, as well as some foreshadowing about the (lackluster) ending scene.
There are a couple of dark details from the novel that are referenced in this mini-series as well as just a couple of cool details that you probably wouldn't have picked up on the first time through.

About IT Chapter Two
Evil resurfaces in Derry as director Andy Muschietti reunites the Losers Club-young and adult-in a return to where it all began with “It Chapter Two.”
The film is Muschietti’s follow-up to 2017’s critically acclaimed and massive worldwide box office hit “IT,” which grossed over $700 million globally. Both redefining and transcending the genre, “IT” became part of the cultural zeitgeist as well as the highest-grossing horror film of all time.
Because every 27 years evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, “It Chapter Two” brings the characters-who’ve long since gone their separate ways-back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

*~ Pennywise The Dancing Clown 1990*
Best quote ever!
I feel Tim brought the most evil out of IT:
"Kiss me fatboy!"
-Robert "Bob" Gray, aka Pennywise the Dancing Clown
2016
@@joemama-ib2lh ....
Bringing new meaning to "frick a creeper".
Unpopular opinion but I loved the mini series. I'm 37 and so that came about in my childhood and I get the criticisms of it but it isn't the worst thing ever or even the worst King adaptation. I thought the performances were good and for something made for tv in 1990 you couldn't do much better than this. I like both Pennywise performances but for different reasons. Bill's Pennywise is immediately unsettling even if you can't quite figure out why but Tim's looks like a regular circus or birthday clown until you become comfortable and then he flips.
I don't think it's an unpopular opinion, it's an awesome series!
It’s my favorite version
that is definitely not an unpopular opinion, lol, everyone loves the original.
Unpopular i'm in the same age group as you... People our age love the series, because we watched as a kid and it was awesome (for kids)
Yeah dis is amazing
I thought pennywise gave Stan a cross over his grave as a final screw even after he died
Yeah it would do that
I thought it was for Georgie, to help mess with Bill and make himself seem stronger.
The words "crunchy exoskeleton" make my skin crawl. I hate that crunch when you step on a bug.
Eddie -- "I believe in santa Claus. I believe in the Easter Bunny. I believe in the tooth fairy."
Homer Simpson -- Nnneeeerrrrrrddddd!!
Richie Tozier- Nerd alert!
Richie’s fortune cookie was a reference to his fear of the film “the crawling eye” when he was a kid. It’s not touched upon in the film.
was “75 feet tall” a reference to the town statue in the book?
Maybe, I still don't think that would be 75 feet tall.
I think the town statue was 30 feet tall
Always riddled what that was supposed to mean
I figured it was just bc as kids and the fear they had It may have seemed that big. I imagine Eddie is a little histrionic as well. I always took at as him being dramatic.
The Paul bunyan statue is what I think
2 things: 1. In the ending credits, Henry’s friend Victor is actually called “Patrick”...although IMDB calls him Victor and it HAS to be Victor as he had a lot of that character’s lines from the book. 2. When the losers are ripping out the spider’s heart, when it shows Bill rip out a bunch of guts in his hand, it sounds like Tim Curry/ Pennywise screaming in pain. Don’t know if I am right about that, but that is what I always thought.
The guy from the movie did barely have any lines. What are you talking about?
The late Gabe Khouth stated that he was always confused as to what character he was portraying. IMDB at one point listed him as playing Patrick Hockstetter for one episode and Victor Criss for the other.
H2O Water. " I NEED IT!! WATER! I NEED WATER SANDY!!" Omg one of my favorite episodes. Also two other favorites are magical doodle and the episode when cussing is dolphin noises lol
Guys i saw pennywise under my bed but he was in the form of my uncle
It wasn't Pennywise...
I saw pennywise in the white house but he was in the form of a fat man with orange skin and blonde hair
Is your name Casey Cooke?
Then that ain’t pennywise
I saw pennywise but he was in the form of a former patriots receiver :/
finally someone with the same love for that cab driver
Emotionless Beverly he's the best character ever
11:47 Scared me so bad I had my volume on full blast
I loved the taxi driver too, I believe his name is Dave. Just wish he had more of an appearance in the book because he was so funny. To me he seemed to be the only adult who wasn't not effected by IT, while all the other adults were under some sort of spell. He wasn't. Just wish Bill hadn't forgotten to ask him more questions about Derry because Bill wanted to hear his opinion on what's been happening within Derry and it's people.
Amazing at finding things you missed Shaggy is.
Thanks Yoda
He is a mystery solver after all

What if the Neibolt Street House was actually Robert Gray's (The Actual Human) House from the 1700 or 1800s?
There has never been mentioned a real human with this name in the book.
@@sidnew2739 I don’t think Robert gray was real either
You seriously have helped me so much. I hate trying to decide which adaptation was better overall, just because they're both great in their own right. However, I just LOVE the 1990 miniseries, and I think the use of CGI in the 2017-19 adaptation took away from the mystery. Your imagination is a scary thing, that's why the novel is so terrifying. The fact that It seemed to mock and "play with" the Losers in the miniseries more, seemed to be scarier, and more in tune with the book. It liked to play with its food. Also, I have a hard time believing: Jaeden Martell grows up to be James McAvoy, Chosen Jacobs grows up to be the old spice guy, and Jeremy Ray Taylor grows up to be Jay Ryan...but the others were spot on! Now, in the miniseries, all of the characters are believable and the actors all killed it to make us believe they truly were the grown-up versions of their child counterparts. Especially, Ben going from Brandon Crane to John Ritter, and the OUTSTANDING performances by the late Jonathan Brandis (RIP) and Richard Thomas, portraying Bill.
Yeah, I don't know why Part 2 of the miniseries gets so much flack, and why the performances of the adult actors is often derided. I thought the adult cast was great and had excellent chemistry with each other. Yeah, it isn't really that scary, but for me, "It" is less about the horror and more about the metaphor.
@@dreamlandnightmare Well obviously the CGI Spider has a TON to do with it. I agree with CZ, that part didn't do it for me. Might as well have done an entire animation.
Also I agree that the adult cast had great chemistry, and with what they were given, they did a damned good job. Everything up to final fight with It is outstanding: Bev's return home, Mr. Keene, "kiss me, fat boy". the graveyard scene "a-buh-a-buh-a-Billy-Boy", Stan in the fridge and the library scene, which ppl often say just made them laugh. And even as a child I though it was a little funny, but it's still terrifying that everyone acts normal while blood is spraying on ppl's faces, and a deranged clown is yelling/taunting Richie from the balcony. But I do think the metaphor is important, however I think the horror is important too. I just like it better as a psychological type of horror, since that's how the novel was.
I just randomly binged part one then magically you post part two! Hell Ya!!
Me too.
Was waiting for you guys to watch it.

I believe richies was the eye because of a horror film that scared him as child. Great video :)
I really need to check out the book.
All the weird good stuff is lefted out in the movies and mini series
It's really worth it. I think I'm gonna read it again since it's been probably 15 years since I read it.
This movie was incredible for a 1990 t.v. miniseries. The score is amazing and it has probably the greatest cast ensemble in history. I was 5 when this aired and it's one of my favorite movies ever. I love it.
Please do history of mike he is my favorite character
Pennywise: *EXISTS*
The Losers: We're Gonna Do What's Called A Pro Gamer Move
Audra was in Ice Cream Man too. 🤨
I know. Also Ms Bates in Psycho 4.
11:46 YOU SCARED ME
*man I got so much catching up to do, been working and living off grid since May...can’t stream this stuff out in the bush, can’t wait to get home :p* 🌲

Seeble I live and work at my off grid cabin for 5months of the year. Got videos on my page if you want an idea. Solar - generator, pump water from the lake to a tank. My families been on this lake since 1936 used to take a train to get here
That iroc-z is just a reference to how dope that car was.
I am so entertained by your reviews. So thorough, I love that I am not alone in analyzing and trying to catch little aspects. The fact you aren’t being agro and just talking, amazing! I have been binge watching your videos, utterly enthralled. 🥰
It seams the more crazy you are the less the dead lights effect you.
sane person shutting down completely and loopy people just going extra loopy.
Gives me Birdbox vibes.
1:27, pennywise is literally reading anything BUT the finance section as it... Well.... Is on the back of the paper
Finally, someone mentioned that the house where Stan encounters IT as a child was based on the house on Neibolt Street! It bugs the hell out of me when people complain that the house isn't in the miniseries! Also, Mike does mention the standpipe during his classroom presentation, although the miniseries doesn't feature it. Another Easter Egg? Imagine if the miniseries had been four parts, as originally intended - think of all the backstories that could have been featured in more detail! I really think the miniseries did a great job of capturing the atmosphere of the novel, the town of Derry, etc.
In my 3rd grade class, we were learning about money, and we were reading a book about it. One of the characters was named Penny Wise.
11:46 that made me laugh so hard
When Eddie says “About 75 feet tall" does he mean Paul Bunyan from it chapter 2?
Brayden Dunn yes
that one is about 30 feet tall tho
His face during the sponsor plugin
I’m subbed and like all videos I love CZsWorld pennywise videos
YOOO LANCE DIDNT NEED THAT ATTACK 😂
1:19 confirms that the timeline in the miniseries is slightly different
I'm fairly certain that it was supposed to be the leper that Stan saw in the house, who used to wrap up in a similar way late in the progression of the disease (ala "Braveheart"). At least that's how I processed it when I originally saw the miniseries. It's hard to say though, this thing was all over the place.
I associate the laugh at the end of the miniseries to being a homage to the 1985 film Legend, which starred Tim Curry as the demonic villain. At the films ending Tim Curry gives a similar deep, eerie laugh.
I mean you say it's not explained in the miniseries about Koontz and the quarters but you DO see Koontz smack his fist into his hand when talking to Bowers, so it kind of is explained really. :) Great job though, I love your vids.
I thought the eyeball was a nod to the book about one of the Forms used to terrorize Ritchie? It was a sci fi horror movie right? Something like THE EYE from space or something similar??!!
The crawling eye 👁
The miniseries has a huge pace and fix problem but it nailed the atmosphere of the book, whereas the new adaptation nailed the atmosphere perfectly as well as the otherworldly vibe of It but it’s biggest quality was the loser’s club. It’s biggest problem was that it wasn’t scary
1, Pennywise is a shapeshifter and turned into small little Georgie, so he could be 75 ft tall
2, Ben’s fortune cookie is a mouth since he used to eat a lot of junk foo as a kid, so boom! Both of those theories are solved!
in the miniseries and in the movie, the ONLY promise The Losers Club made was that IF IT ever returned to Derry, so would they. AT NO point when making the promise did the members of The Losers Club say anything about destroying Pennywise/IT. IF you'll remember, from the miniseries, Mike says, "You all came here based on the strength of a promise, as far as I'm concerned, you've honored that promise".
Put any line from IT
I'm always so early to these! My most favorite series on youtube! Love this channel !
Thanks for the support 💀🔔
YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO KILL MY EARDRUMS AFTER THE END CREDITS LAUGHTER HOLY--
I think Pennywise added the cross instead of the Star of David as an insult to his faith
I first watched this at my 11th birthday party with my friends, we screamed so much😂
Ritchie's car was an around 90s model Chevrolet Iroc-z camaro.

The Eddie part I fell over🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I love that you found the "finance" joke 😅
6:28 ben was bullied by henry and henry's menace is to cut his gut. maybe thats the reason that there was "Skeleton Nails" in the fortune cookie.

That "spider claw" looks more like a giant gremlin hand...
6:28 I honestly have no idea what Ben's is‚
10:32 I believe in Santa Claus. I believe in the Easter Bunny. I believe in the tooth fairy."
10:39 Eddie‚ Eddie‚ what are you saying‚ you're a virgin?“
pretty sure that scene wasn't in the miniseries.
10:52 The movie that he's shown shooting is on Scene 574!? Oh my‚ god that is a long movie. And i thought It was long. Runtime: 3 hours and 12 minutes.
0:16 you know that one of my favourite side-characters from the book is the foul mouthed cab driver
11:46 *Earrape*
2:06 ohh ohhhh no that cannot be sanitary it's basically piss and s**t I'm just telling you.
Have to point out that the book “the glowing” has a brief description under it talking about extra terrestrials
The part about Pennywise being 75' tall is taken from the book, Richie Tozier is attacked by a 'Godzilla Sized' Paul Bunyon statue that comes life. Mike got the bird in his fortune cookie because with his father enjoyed old monster movies, "The Giant Claw" and "Rodan". Pennywise's true form in the book was that he was like a giant earthworm made of light. The laughter at the end suggest the clown can resurge elsewhere, as far as Derry, the spell is broken he can never prey upon the inhabitants of the town again.
The Macroverse/Dark Tower aspects of King's writings could also mean that Tommyknockers is set in a separate dimension/timeline/level of the tower where It wasn't defeated.
Kinda strange that at 4:27 the guy talking to Bill's wife mentions someone "a friend turning enemy ready to CRUCIFY you at any cost" some may have missed the fact that this is the same actress that played Mary mother of Jesus in the 1977 hit "Jesus of Nazareth" movie with Robert Powell, Olivia Hussey. Nice little wink
I loved ur chop suey reference
11:46 scared me so bad
Even though it scared you but for me is funny ear rape be like
Bruh, people also mightve missed the guy starting to smile behind Pennywise when he made a joke (dont remember which one, but yeah, dude was about to burst out laughing)
Edit after eight months: it was the joke "excuse me sir, do you have a Prince Albert in a can? You do? Well you better let the poor man out! aHa aHa aHa!"
I’m wondering if Starkweather could be a reference to Charles Starkweather, a killer who went on a spree of murders in the 50s when the book is meant to take place.
the iroc-z is jsut a model of the camaro i think
Who is best?
Penny-wise or Joker??
If you like IT what do u feel about Joker movie??
Unique_007 haven’t seen it but I think it looks interesting, like it dives into the sanity of the joker.
IIRC, Richie was terrified of the crawling eye in the horror film of the same name.
OMG I HAD FRICKING AIRPODS ON AND I FRICKING DIED
0:52
I believe It did that for some sort of riddle to Bill, so he would find out who of the Lucky Guys (or Losers) was dead already.
Just my humble point of view.
Hopefully this is a good one again
Same
The biggest horror here is probably the raid shadow legends ad
😢That scene with Eddie saying the things he believes in hurt my soul to watch.😣
"Seventy-five feet tall" could be a reference to Richie's episode with the Paul Bunion statue
its amazing how much they've crammed in
I just subscribed because of the "chop suey, system of a down" reference.
Well done my friend.
I loved the System Of A Down - Chop Suey reference! Tim Curry was an awesome clown but I keep expecting him to morph into Frank N Furter
Did you do a video on the movie Hellfest? I worked at a Six Flags park when that movie was released. It was actually my first Fright Fest I ever worked.

What was the 75 foot tall Pennywise Eddie talked about in the chinese food place, tho? Was he talking about the scene that Richie experiences with the statue in the park?
Came back to view a supposed 'like' - and it's gone lol. To boot there's no response to quell my thirst of knowings! How will i survive til the next episode now? ? :| :]

Good shit. Have you gone through the Nightmare on Elm Street series?
Ok so my parents traumatized me with "it" back in 97, so when the remake came out I have 3 kids now. Guess what i did?
