My 14 year ownership experience with a 2009 Honda Accord EX

- I’ve been driving this car for just over 6 years but, my family has owned this car since new. This video is a overview of my personal experience with the car and how the car has held up over 14 years along with my own personal touches I’ve added to the car.
I’m new to this kind of content so this my way of testing the waters to see how I like it.
Enjoy!
My mother bought me a 2009 coupe accord when it came out. It’s 2023 going into 2024. 121k miles and I’m passing it down to my daughter. She’s gonna paint it midnight purple and add some new rims. This car is a TANK fellas. If you see one (with the 4 cylinder specifically) buy it.
That’s amazing I just hit 125k as of today haha
How does it look w midnight purple. I’m planning on painting it either black or midnight purple
@@wabduwabadu ended up wrapping it for a steal of a price. Looks awesome. Got black rims too.
@@Miles-wy1zr mind sharing a video on your channel on how it looks?
I have the exact same one and still looking great
19:44 "it won't detonate, it will just grenade itself" this is how i reassure the average TSA agent after handing them my backpack
I hit 204K miles today still holds strong. My plan for the car is some Enkei rims, Coil overs, intake, and some headlights
That’s the move!
@@CP2Ty I’m also learning more about my car as soon I’m going to start doing my own repairs aha
I recently purchased a 2009 EX-L sedan with 27k miles and I love it! The only thing I had to get was a Bluetooth receiver that connects to my aux port.
How much did you pay for it, if you don't mind me asking?
@@MotorVelocity $8k. It was owned by an elderly woman who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s and could no longer drive and I paid what they were asking.
@@armandolorian2120 That was a great deal! I hope I can something similar in my area!
So nice to see a good owner of an Accord same colour as mine...
I have the 08 exl. It does have automatic headlights. Great car. Big and slow. But great cruiser and daily.
Thank you for sharing your car!
My 7th gen was leaking in the exact same spot, A pillar, passenger. I was new to car repair at the time and did a cheap job but it has held up for over a year now. I took off the roof black trim piece... broke some clips of course and bent the black metal piece. Anyway, I used silicon caulking and plugged up where the body filler was cracked. There are some other spots but I am waiting to use actual body filler at some point. Thanks for the video!
Yeah I’m thinking of doing the same thing one of these nice days. Kinda bs Honda hasn’t said anything about it but, it’s whatever lol. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the heads up, just in case I need it. Just got a 2009 a couple days ago, it's clean, but things like this tend to pop up over time.
Hey guys can’t believe how many views this has gotten! It has really motivated me to start making more content for the channel I got some exciting plans coming up. Check out my newest video discussing it-(ua-cam.com/video/uCJSCHvlOiE/v-deo.html)
I drive the same car, not modded yet because I’m broke, dark gray EX-L and i really appreciate the information in this video
You made me aware of some issues to look out for (more info is welcome as well)
And that juke at the end 😂. I’ve always told people “my car’s nothing crazy, hardly special, but at least it’s not a juke” so this video was very fulfilling to watch all the way through for me. Thanks.
I’m gonna be posting an update sometime soon so look out for that. Thanks for the feedback!
I wouldn't be surprised if I've seen your car before when I was in Massachusetts 😂
118,000 is nothing.
That'll go 300,000 easy.
Didn’t have to explain much brother all you had to say was 2020… we understand brother
Do you notice road noise on the highway? I'm trying to silence mine as much as I can.
Yeah it’s a little noisy but, it’s also from the tires I’m running on bigger wheels. If I put my stocks on it’s pretty quiet as a 10+ year old can be lol
Hey man, can you add some costs / links to some of the mods ? This is dope to see especially since I'm in MA too !
Where did u get the front bumper
Thanks for the video. Before you replaced the VTC Actuator, did you hear that same "rattle" at low speeds (like in a parking lot) at all? Did the rattling completely stop after you had it replaced? Mine is "rattling" at start up after the car has sat, and I'm hearing what sounds to be the same thing from time to time at low speeds. Also, the climate control lights is a common problem. They have incandescent bulbs in them which are garbage. From what I've read they don't produce them any more so they now charge like $10+ each and there are five of them on the back of the unit. So I highly doubt it's from your water leak. There are plenty of videos on how to replace them if you ever get the urge to do so. Doesn't look to complicated.
No the rattle started as a once in awhile thing then it started to get more aggressive as time went on and I finally had enough. To my knowledge the rattle is mostly harmless due to the fact I had it for 6 years doing it. Never heard the rattle while driving though yikes that would definitely worth getting looked into good luck bro👍🏻. Also I have the bulbs my lazy ass just doesn’t feel like doing it atm 🤷🏻♂️
@@CP2Tyusually it could be low oil happens to me with the same car
@@CP2Ty just buy the spring kit and replace it. Simple fix.
How does it not have rust? Do you rust proof it often?
where did you get the red honda logo and carbon fibre parts for the steering wheel
I found it on eBay lol I was trying to find ones for the none ex-l model with the phone controls 😂
Yeah carl that manual shift sounds nice boy 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I noticed you have different wheels and don't have the tpms light on, I have the 18 sport rims and I have been trying to find what I need to get the light off because I want to turn traction off lol
So I have a buddy with a tire shop and he used this tpms reset tool on it. Plus I bought all new tpms sensors for the wheels. But these cars have very sensitive Tpms systems lol
Where did you bought the intake kit?
Dude how much you want for it?
My climate control lights also took a dump in the same order lol
what mods would you do to an 8th gen with a 3.5L v6
Definitely go ktuner, rv6 down pipes, intake, get a manifold spacer, exhaust and everything else from my build. There isn’t much aftermarket exhaust options for the 4cyl plus k series don’t really sound good with straight pipes. So kinda jealous of the v6 accords because they sound amazing with a exhaust 🤷🏻♂️
i have the same leak, no idea how to fix it lol
It’s annoying you gotta reseal under the molding where the roof meets the A pillar they didn’t put enough body sealer at the factory.
@@CP2Ty you have a video on it ??
Yea true lol my balls got stuck in-between that one time
The EXL has automatic headlights
is 09 accord exl v6 reliable?
I got one with 430000 miles
What’s the front lip name?
It’s from Mugen I ordered it back in 2017 it’s sadly discontinued but you can find reps on eBay
Was this manufactured in Japan or Ohio?
Are your windows tinted?
Why no one has the V6??
Timing belt
@@andypair1571 but faster
Timing belt that has to be changed every 80k-100k miles. Easily a 1k job unless your mechanically inclined.
@@noventay4timing chains last longer just keep it lubricated with oil changes and you’re good to go
Faster? Unless you are a at a racetrack, "faster" is irrelevant, the 4 cylinder has more than enough get up and go. @@noventay4
Nice accord btw was ur dad Sentra was a coupe or a seden?
It was a sedan SE I thought it was the se-r but, the se-r was only for the 200sx coupe
How many miles on your Honda?
Yo wassup fam, whats your color code
Got hella miles to go
Link for springs? Or what they called
H&R lowering springs I got them on tire-rack.com 👍🏻
Hey Sir! We sincerely look for a video collaboration with you! Are you interested in trying our seat covers?
You gotta full tank gas lol 😆 😂 🤣
