  • This week, we’re bringing you the latest video from a series that we call Home Coffee Brewing with April. This time around, we’re joining La Lida out in the coffee farms just north of Chiang Mai.
We believe that innovation in coffee brewing starts at home, and that some of the most special and meaningful interactions with coffee can take place within your own kitchen.
As we are frequently travelling visiting our international partners, we decided to introduce this format as a way to interact with you on a different level whilst maintaining the frequency of our videos.
In this video, La Lida brews a Thai grown coffee that she roasted herself. She utilises various different Snowpeak products, pairing these with an April Plastic Brewer, a Brewista Gem Server and a pouring kettle that she purchased locally.
Thanks to La Lida for sharing her coffee brewing technique with us and with the channel.

I really like this kind of videos Patrik. The one with the guy who owns a La Pavonni is also really cool

    Hey,
I really felt that those notes are reflecting well roasted coffee and great farming as well.
    She is great!
.. Can you consider an aluminum version of the "April" brewer. I have the plastic version.
And I hope to see your filters available on a wider scale; last time I purchased them, from Canda, and I live in Egypt!
Kalita 155 filters are good for darker roasts but not that good for the lighter roasts and I still taste paper.
Hope to see this channel growing.
You are the best figure in the coffee industry, in my perspective.

Thank you for watching and supporting. It's much appreciated. We will work on getting those paper filters available. We are currently working on a foldable silicone version of the April brewer, that will be the first step. How are you brewing with the April Brewer at home?

      @@coffeewithapril Happy to hear that!
      Great!
I use it every day. I pour quite gently, and I find that second pour at 00: 38 with 17 seconds pouring is giving me more separation in flavors and wider experience in the cup. Also, I use Brewista kettle, I know it is harder to control, yet making the pouring process more creative.
13 grams mainly, 20 grams sometimes; for richer flavors, and with dark roasts; I go down to 83 to bring the floral notes of dark roasted coffees (Jasmine/ Stone fruits). Two pours are the best only with this great brewer.
The only downside of bright colors (blue) is that the edges tend to have brown color. So, I can buy the black one, but I prefer, for the sake of changing, another durable and high-end material.

@@coffeewithapril Can't say because I have not tried much. But tbh, I don't know much about varietal because I buy beans based on flavor profile, roast level, and process method only 😅

@@coffeewithapril I’ve seen (and tasted) some very promising results of Java here in Thailand. Some of the nice floral characteristics of Gesha, but seems to be better suitable to the local conditions. I’m also quite excited to see where Thai specialty coffee is heading.

@@coffeewithapril That’s a tough one. Depends if you can have a pre-weighted beans on a small metal container like some coffee shops do and a fixed amount of water so you tailor the coffee to water ratio pretty nicely. Then go with two pour recipe and without any scale get a pretty good cup :)
