    Same motor I have. I just use an used 1lit motorcycle oil canister with that narrow funnel on top to refill the 1.1 Lit Suzu tank in water. If you do that per approx 0,5 lit per refill there is no spilling.

    Thank you, great video. I did this mod on my Suzuki 2.5 and it works fine. I have the same fuel can and I had difficulty getting the fuel filter in the cap, but it worked with another cap from a different can that fit. I ran the fuel line outside on the starboard side of the engine and secured a fuel line coupler near the front with a plastic wire tie through existing holes on the bottom of the engine case. The engine is mounted on the transom of my sailboat and will eliminate difficult re-fueling on the water. Your video is the best!

    I just want to chime in with the others and say thanks. These videos were so helpful. I really like the fact that your solution does not require drilling any holes into the Suzuki. It can be returned to stock very easily with your approach. I have one question for you though. I would like to know more about the o'ring you used to better seal off the gas can. Can you provide either a link to a source or else a description of it. Thanks again!

    • @FFHTV
      @FFHTV  3 роки тому +1

      You are so welcome! I am glad to read that the video has helped you out! 😊👍 My main approach to this mod as you stated was to easily return it to stock. I sourced my O-ring from a Harbor Freight O-ring kit I had laying around in my garage. I just selected the size that made the best fit. Here is the Harbor Freight link: www.harborfreight.com/382-piece-o-ring-assortment-67554.html

    You could also put an inline fuel filter with a small 12v electric RC model pump to refill the tank when needed.

    • @DennisEnglishREHS
      @DennisEnglishREHS 3 роки тому

      Hand crank pump would also do the job (Hangar 9 Manual Fuel Pump).

    Great video. Really appreciate your sharing this with all of us. I've been wondering how to adapt an aux tank for some months now. I like your install and the excellent detail of how you did it. Question for you... Several guys have put out videos on their version of the addition of an aux tank. What's always missing is how do you handle putting the motor in reverse when needed. How do you do that with your setup?

    • @FFHTV
      @FFHTV  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Stephen! To put the outboard in reverse I just turn it around like you are suppose to do. The fuel line does not interfere with that operation.

    Hey great stuff, I'm asked what's at the end of the fuel line you put into the fuel tank?

    • @FFHTV
      @FFHTV  3 роки тому

      Thanks! Just a random plastic nipple fitting that fit the hose to give it some weight at the end of the hose. It can be for fuel or vacuum and can be purchased at most any auto parts store or you can also use the brass type found in the plumbing section of most hardware stores..

    So does the external tank need to be lifted above the motor? I do t understand how a motor without a fuel pump can suck the fuel??

    • @FFHTV
      @FFHTV  3 роки тому +1

      No need to have the tank above the motor... This outboard has a fuel pump. I showed this in (part 1) of this two part video series concerning the mod: ua-cam.com/video/RXJC2vevRtw/v-deo.html

      La suzuki 2.5 ha un serbatoio del carburante da 1 litro, quindi se il serbatoio del fuoribordo si svuota puoi utilizzare la pompa di compressione sul serbatoio del gas di scorta per riempirlo nuovamente al massimo pompandolo 90 volte che equivale a circa 1 litro di carburante.
