Watching this I wonder how any college admissions office failed to appreciate your maturity, thoughtfulness, intelligence and, above all, character. Aren't these the attributes that colleges should be looking for? Someone who turns setbacks into a meaningful chance to reflect and create a plan. I think community college will give you what you need to figure out what you want in college and, when you are ready, your dream school will be ready. You're the kind of person they should be looking for!
It is amazing to see someone so young with such grace and maturity. You are wise beyond your years. Instead of seeing this as a setback, you see opportunity. Instead of going somewhere just to be "in college", you made a rational and prudent decision based on facts and circumstances.You have attributes that will take you far in life. I am wholeheartedly rooting for you.
Hi Jamie, I normally don’t comment on videos but I just wanted to say that you remind me a lot of myself when I was in hs just 2 years ago. I didn’t really have a dream school (like ever) and honestly I relate so much that to a certain extent I didn’t really want college or dreams schools as bad as other people wanted it. I also had the same talk with my parents that we didn’t really have money for me to go far or go to these crazy top schools that are notoriously expensive and going to a cc was fine. I applied to some CSU’s and UC’s my senior year but honestly didn’t really care just because I knew I was going to a cc anyways and had an idea to transfer and maybe get into somewhere like UCLA and overall challenge myself to grow. Anyways, I’m here 2 years later finishing up on my transfer process and so far been accepted to most of the UC’s I applied to and currently committed to Berkeley and just waiting for USC to come out. Honestly, going to cc is probably the best thing in terms of money but also taking classes that you really enjoy without having that financial burden. You also have a higher chance of getting into most of the UC’s and overall not be left with that feeling of regret that you could’ve done better. I really hope that everything goes well for you and that you find your path in your academic journey!

hii ! as a senior i rlly appreciate your transparency to the entire college admission process bc it's a lot more stressful than most people think LOL having community college as a free and accessible option is something that many people forget so ty for going against the unwanted negative stigma attached to it ! everyone has a different pathway to success and I'm sure you're gonna make it there too :) also bruh I also have calvet but DORMING IS HELLA EXPENSIVE rip anyways unite co2024!

Hey, just wanted to say I really loved your perspective things and I totally agree that college decisions do NOT define you or your personal worth at all! I relate so much to your process too; I had top college choices but I don't think I actually had a dream school in the sense that there was one place I was hyperfixated on attending. My application was average lol, good grades/GPA but I didn't have any outstanding extracurriculars... I actually only did tennis in high school tbh. I'm a college sophomore now and it's actually funny to look back at the whole stressful decisions process... once you're in college, the rejections don't really cross your mind significantly after the first week. But yeah community college is a great, cheap, and smart option, especially if you don't know what career field you actually want to do yet! I wish you good luck and good things in your college journey
Im a junior in hs and its nice seeing a realistic college application video. Your stats were all amazing (way better classes then ones im taking) but they missed on one big thing who you are as a person. From what i can tell you seem like a really hard worker and dont let rejections get you down. As much as i want to go to a nice uni i know realistically I cant with costs and inflation. Also i love your five star I.N on your wall lol

tY! Awesome video! You’re College Reaction Video was by far my favorite…. I loved how you began with your Stats and ECs… I applied to both USC and UCLA , got accepted to both …. And to be fair I started in middle school to prepare for them… Thing is I approached it like I was going to apply to the Big “5” , Harvard, Stanford, Princeton, Yale, MIT…. And it worked… Just that I didn’t apply to any of those 5 because I lacked in couple areas which would prevent me to be accepted… Dont worry sister… being accepted and attending directly is so freakn overrated … Just transfer from CC
Maybe i missed it...what was you sat score? Dont sell yourself short! I can tell you worked hard. The competition is insane these days. I damn near lost it when you talked about your dad and not being rich. Treat him to a nice dinner and tell him you love him. 😢
