My heart broke when your home flooded, just hearing how sad, and tired you and Gigi felt. I'm so happy to see your home being repaired so quickly. I know what you're going through to an extent. I recently inherited a home that needs a LOT of work. Unfortunately I don't have the help or family you have near you, but watching how you all band together and roll up those sleeves and get to work really inspires me. I have so many plans for my new home. First things first is getting my electric rewired in the house which is getting done in a couple days, then it's painting, ripping carpets (someone covered original hardwood floors with carpet 😢). I'm going to be bringing those beautiful floors back to life soon!

If you decide to build a new Man Cave you could maybe build one that is built on concrete pillars with a deck that will be above the last flooding levels you have seen.
While we would think building higher might be best, Gene has to be able to access it. With his knee issues steps and even ramp is difficult for him to navigate. Same level, nothing stored low and having to downsize a bit is Genes plan. We get it. His home, His rules😉 PawPaw..we really want whats best for you! ❤

You know you could enclose the little kitchen in the pavilion and make it your man’s cave pawpaw and just put an air conditioner in on the end wall there where you sit when doing gifts snd goodies just enclose from that. Area forward towards the kitchen snd you could have a sitting area in the same area you usually sit in snd the kitchen where it is now ! It’s just a thought and you might not want to enclose that area but I’m sure you’ll figure out what works best for you . There’s no rush just take your time and do what makes you happy pawpaw !! I know you’ll be glad to get your new phone set up so you can read your comments and reply when you want to !! Sleep good pawpaw and enjoy your new fridge and living room set ! If possible, your new design whether the man-cave or shop, would be best to be shelving up off the floor area higher than the water line of this last flood, just throw rugs and concrete floors... so the clean-up 'next' time is easier on everyone and you lose less possessions. Your family has been incredible in pulling together and getting everything back in order. Flooding is inevitable because of the river behind y'all and rainwater runoff but perhaps this is an opportunity to re-design with that in mind. It's looking real good!

We all know how expensive it is going to be on you and GiGi to have to rebuild so many of your structures and your home and with sending gifts makes your fans feel as though they have helped in the smallest of ways because we aren't in your area to offer other means of help for you all.. I know you didn't want a major re-set. But getting your shop and other buildings consolidated into a garage and man cave will be great.
If possible, your new design whether the man-cave or shop, would be best to be shelving up off the floor area higher than the water line of this last flood, just throw rugs and concrete floors... so the clean-up 'next' time is easier on everyone and you lose less possessions. Your family has been incredible in pulling together and getting everything back in order. Flooding is inevitable because of the river behind y'all and rainwater runoff but perhaps this is an opportunity to re-design with that in mind. It's looking real good!

You,g and my self are the same age. I think you ans g handle this so much better than I would. I have had hurricane damage so I do know nasty water, no electricity for weeks. You have amazing children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. (Their spouses too)
