We Ride To Glenorchy And Find Ourselves Stuck in a Public Park By A Red Shed

In todays video we take a step back in time to the Southern Roar Ride day. There were three separate ride options available and we chose the Glenorchy Ride and this video picks up about halfway through the ride following a regroup at Wilson Bay on the shores of Lake Wakatipu. From Wilson Bay it is roughly 40km through to the small town of Glenorchy on the upper reaches of Lake Wakatipu via the spectacular Glenorchy-Queenstown Road. As with so many South Island rides the road is terrific and the scenery is breathtaking and the overcast cloudy conditions added a nice touch of drama to the amazing views on offer that day. I initially thought my GoPro had failed to record the ride up from Wilson Bay and was happy to find there was some useable footage which I have included here.
Following a break for refreshments at the Glenorchy Hotel Garden Bar the Auckland crew headed down to the lakefront and found a place to park our bikes alongside a photogenic red shed and then afterwards had a group photo taken on the jetty by a friendly visitor to the lake.

shit I was literally in Glenorchy today. Took the AMG for a blat, stopped outside that red shed and had to pop in to the little garage to top up some coolant. Would have enjoyed taking my dyna fat bob on that road from QT....especially on those narrow ass bits lol

You should do that - the road from QT was great on the bikes and definitely recommend heading a little further up to the Dart River One Lane Bridge. Spectacular location.
