Congratulations 🎉🎉 There's NOTHING like getting your new sled!! First one even better!! How about You and Bruce do a little nitrous on the 850?? I've always had good luck with the wet kits! Love to see how that turbo could deal with a well set up nitrous kit👍👍👍
I’ve had good luck removing those press on star fasteners by grabbing them with a needle nose pliers and turning them to the right. Treat them like reverse threads and they come off and can be reused.
Everyone having a stroke over here good lord. It’s all fine guys. Do this to 100’s of new sleds that have all lived a long and happy life with no issues. Everyone has their own opinions but Jesus
Holy 💩Batman. From 9:20 - 10:50, Polaris deigns them to run rich through the Engine Management System which utilizes an oil pump enrichment program during break-in. All that smoke is normal. You're not supposed to try to "Burn that out" or "clear that up". Why did you do that? If that were my sled and I saw you doing that, we'd have a BIG problem. I probably wouldn't even take delivery. Was there a reason why you did that? I would NEVER rev a brand new sled with a cold motor like that for absolutely no reason, especially without snow. Poor Benito Camacho...
Sled is completely fine. Engine was warm enough for light throttle pulls. These sleds as you said are protected by computers snd extremely rich. Initial fire up is excesses smoke from assembly. There is nothing wrong with what just happened in this video. But eveyone has an opinion which is fine. I’m well aware of how these sled operate and function
Engine was plenty warm. Absolute worst thing you can do is break an engine in easy. Break it in hard and it will perform well. You wanna get the excess oil out or the rings will never seal properly
I'm sure the sled will be fine but IMO that didn't seem too light to me and the engine should be warmed up to full operating temp so all components heat up evenly. I like to listen to the recommendations of the Polaris engineers. Short and repeated starts like that are no bueno and serve no purpose that I'm aware of and for what reason? Just doesn't make any sense that you say start it up, shut it down, let it cool it and then start it again? @@JESSEJAMES322
As stated in the video it’s to get the sled up to temp. Make sure coolant is circulating as It should. Make sure nothing is wrong clutch wise. Brake wise. Then let It cool. Check coolant level to make sure It didn’t burp Itself then run It again and make sure all is well. Instead of a customer taking a sled and having cooling issues or some other stupid issue that happens on assembly lines
@@mattbrattensborg7785 The goal of lubrication is actually to completely prevent the two surfaces having any direct contact whatsoever. The break-in process reduces premature wear by ensuring a smooth and even flow of oil through the engine. The effect is that your engine lasts longer. A general rule is to keep the engine rpm’s low, after which you can gradually dial things up. Doing a full acceleration during the engine break-in period puts strain on the piston rings and gas cylinders, which result in premature engine wear. Warming it up too quickly increases the chance of it damaging the piston and cylinder. Riding hard before the engine is broken-in properly, isn’t the best idea. In other words, over-revving or stressing the engine is not the correct way to break-in the engine. When it comes to cylinder bores, valve seats, and piston rings, it’s best to go easy on them in the beginning. It will make a difference in the performance and reliability of the engine in the long. It’s simple physics.
Nice sled, I like the color combo. But, he's probably going to regret getting the old style gauge when everyone is basically looking at an iPad screen and he's looking at a digital watch.
Understand how these sleds work. Do this to new sleds every year. It’s more then fine. Everyone’s having a stroke over this. Happens to every new sled that gets built
I have changed my mind again, Jesse .I was thinking about a xcr 850 .I'm thinking about how I'm truly going to ride . I will only be riding trails and to be honest I really don't need a 850 .So a xc 650 would be a great fit for me
You will love the 650 for that type of riding. I came off of 800s and have been extremely happy with the 650 and plus the oil/fuel economy has been really good!
@217saleen Thanks for your comments I was just thinking about it ,to myself, and I really do need an 850 . Because all my riding will be done in Northern New Hampshire , I don't need an 850.I have heard that the 650 pulls like an 800.
@coryroot you are correct about the 650 they are a bit hard to find . I help a local polaris dealer so we will order a 650 if I can't find one . Or just settle for a 850.
@@robertsanborn1056 I came off of 800 Cats and the 650 pulls just as good. I’m a trail rider and don’t ride as aggressively as I used to so it’s a perfect machine for me.
Are those painted panels? Pretty sweet they let him swap out panels and make it the color he wants. That looks great. Forehead seems to be healing good lol
@@JESSEJAMES322 yeah it seems to run normal otherwise. When I get off the throttle and come to a stop, it drops right down to 1600 and it just feels like too low of an idle to me. Maybe it’s just me lol, but I also noticed all my buddy’s 850’s idle higher
So the promotion is $1,000 off 23 INDY models it looks like, hope he didn't get charged a bunch of freight and setup fees, I assume not if it's a holdover from last year.
It’s amazing how much they don’t smoke after break in, I would black out the spindles too and leave the ski tips and skid orange
Yup they clean up as time goes on

Never dabbled in the nitrous world! Sure she would boogie
Congratulations on the new sled 🙂No better feeling than getting your first new sled!! The gauge can change to either red or blue, BTW.
Awesome thank you for that! ill have to rea dup on how to do that
Congrats to you friend on his new sled hope he will have a great time this winter.
Thank you! hes excited!

ive done that before but after doing 1000 of them i just cut them and put new ones on now hahah
What happened to don't touch throttle until it's up temp?
Exactly like WTF.. I don't get why he would do that

That was my 1st performance sled. Great start. Can’t go wrong with an XC. Cross Country….
Great sled for sure. this will be a good leanring sled!
Sled looks great blacked out. Congrats to your friend.
I love the look and thank you!
That color combo is great!
love the way it came out!
Congrats to your buddy he’s pumped for sure!
Thank you hes super pumped!
Does it have the Jackshaft recall fix pre done to it?
There was never a jackshaft recall
Much better 👍
so much better!
Agree - looks better.. don’t know what’s up with Polaris and their pastel blues and grays lately
Someone is calling the shots!
Congratulations on your new sled.
He says thank you!

I’d assume he won’t have It long. And then he’ll get whatever is latest snd greatest then. Or he can add It down the line if he wants tii
Delivery day is exciting....congrats!
the best day! Thank you
For the record, that XC9R decal flexes hard!

One happy camper! Congrats!

Boy that’s a lot of smoke. I wouldn’t touch the throttle till it’s out of warmup. Employees must’ve loved all that smoke.

Congrats nice scooter
Thank you! hes excited
Polaris SHOULD make the old PIDD Guage the standard Gauge!!
That I do agree with
Where abouts are you located?
South Side Sales is located in North Adams Mass
How far are you from Gardner, Mass?
i do not live there. i live in new jersey so not sure about anything in mass
Better shut that thing off before the epa shows up! Damn those things smoke a lot!
initial fire up is always smokey because of assembly oil. they clear out
Anyone else’s 850 idle low around like 1600-1650? Mine has since day 1
i havent heard of that one

Greta Thunberg liked this 850 Patriot first start 💨
I should send It to her!
Pushing the long track sleds is a joke there heavier and slower. Not everyone is 6 foot tall
definitely not a joke and definitely has nothing to do with height of rider.

how much what?
