All sxs blog content is great …but this has to be one of my favourite ones in a while. Pumped about this series. I can almost feel the level of excitement that was happening during the unveils…and I could definitely feel the level of butthurt I could see on Leo’s face after 5 pulls 😂
I have fantastic memories fixing up the sleds every year with my pop for our annual trip to Old Forge NY. We were always about 5 to 10 years behind the current crop of new "fancy" sleds but made it work for decades. We stuck with older Yamaha snowmobiles (my favorite was my 84 V-max) and while they beat you up a bit on the trail...they very rarely broke down. Even if they did fail...they would always get you back into town. I miss those days of riding and hanging in the garage with my dad patching them back together for another season. Best of times for me.
For sure!! I would absolutely LOVE to know how fast these babies actually are top end!! I grew up dreaming about having either an Indy or XCR Indy 600 and then a SRX 700 later on!! Those SRX's were Soo super quick and seemed to be very fast top end too!!
Freaking loved the video. I was highly entertained the entire time and now I want to do this with our friends! Looking forward to watching the contest! Leo's sled looks great but Rick rules so I'm interested to see how fast his machine is. And can I just say that I was blown away by the colors on Seus's sled! Yes! Ill be watching all your vids as usual but Id actually love to see a video of you guys on some trails with the sleds. Have fun!
Loving this, hill climb, drag race, mud bog,and a fifty mile poker run.👍❤️.Doug’s father should be in charge of the poker run,you get your directions from each check in point for the next 10 miles, see who can navigate and go fast both.
This idea is awesome can't wait to see the challenges. Doug and Mike got the best sleds, those red top yamaha triples are the best triple snowmobile engine ever made, they are bullet proof and sound so good, everything else from that era was a blow up machine.
This is easily one of my favourite videos from the blog. I was smiling the whole way through. Love the SXS content, but also love snowmobiles. Can’t wait to see the rest of this competition.
@@jacob1423 back when they had the sled on the old track with the table top maybe two years ago or so. They took it over their table top on the old track
There’s just something about sleds that you can’t un-love. They are expensive, you only get to use them a couple months of the year, and you keep coming back for more. Way she goes fellas. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say it’s the fact you don’t get to use them much that when you do, it never gets stale.
Same here, but the new(we) sleds we dreamed about were these sleds!! But once we were up into our mid-teens and above we actually had some of these sleds, finally after years of messing with 60's garbage, some 70's crap and some 80's stuff too..
I need to see Sous, Rick, Sous and Frank in the old school 90's snow suit. You guys should also do this like Top Gear where whoever breaks down has to drive the 2-stoke X3 with tracks and ski's.
I am pumped for this! Do a challenge pulling something like an ice fishing shanty on the ice with a turn mixed in there. You will have to go fast, slow down and turn and then get going fast again!
For break downs. Use simple on trail tools to see which ones are most user friendly and versatile. This is going to be on of the best series you guys put on! It reminds me of top gear!
I know everyone says it, but Matt has changed tenfold over the past year, so confident in front of that camera now, very proud of him and all of you for giving him the environment to be comfortable.
This video just reminded me how bummed I was after I sold my 97' Polaris Storm 800 Tripple Tripple. It was such a Beast jetted and clutch work. Boy, do I miss it, great memories.. 🥺😁
Bad advice don’t get a tundra. tundras are a utility sled. utility snowmobiles are not like utility atvs, utility atvs can be trail driven just fine and work as an all around use machine. Utility snowmobiles are strictly built for just utility work. Terribly slow, EXTREMELY heavy, and not designed for trail riding or ditch banging in anyway shape or form. Do exactly what SXS guys did and buy a cheap 90s snowmobile. You can find complete running working 96-99 polaris 500 for less than a grand, sometimes less than $700. They’ll have cosmetic damage but there isn’t a single sled out there without cosmetic damage. For a first sled a 500 or 600cc sled of basically any of the major 4 sled manufacturers (polaris, skidoo, arctic cat, or yamaha) from the 90s through early 2000s will all be cheap, reliable, and easy to find.
Windshield wizards seriously just check whatever you look at buying really well, DEF wanna do a compression test because these guys were beyond lucky that someone didn't have at least 1 dead cylinder of the bunch!!! So compression test, check track for dry rot and any deep or really bad cracks etc! After that it's just do some serious maintenance before the snow flies so that when it does finally snow that you can start it and go snowmobiling when the snow finally does come!! Personally I'd look for any 500, 600 or 700 Yamaha 2 or 3 cylinder sled from late 90's to early 2000's, SX, SRX and SXR 500, 600 and 700(the SRX was quite a bit faster with a Power valve engine that made much more power!), also basically ANY year Polaris XLT (Xtra Light Triple came in 580, 600 and maybe a 700 too not positive), and then the XC, XCR and most any Indy models in 500, 600 and 650 as well as the 700 and 800 too. The Indy 500 is one of the most reliable, good running sleds i have ever seen, in the last 40 years!!! **But anything in decent shape, and maintained will probably do just fine for ya, don't hesitate to have a mechanic come with you to check it over before buying, that could be the best $150 bucks, or whatever, you could ever spend!!!
I freakin love it! Big sled guy here. Here’s a few… See who can pull the ski’s the longest Slalom course or full track Hill climb drag race side hill Single jump Can’t wait to watch! Lolol That Formula might be a problem for many… but the XC if it runs will surprise
Hey now, that Polaris has so many upgrades to fix that oil issue to cylinder 1 it's definitely a bad ass sled when it's running, go to the 50:1 conversion and the jetting kit they recommend with it and that thing is evil
Awesome idea! Here’s a couple suggestions gentleman yes I use it loosely lol here we go! Fuel mileage ,obviously top speed , drag race, sled pull with firewood, flat track laps! I know I’ll see some but I hope it helps! Btw i almost cried when my last name didn’t start with M 😢
Hey guys, we want to Challenge your Challenge. This is our 8th year doing Cheap Sled (Snowmobile) Challenge and we think we've got some competition for you. The event is the last weekend in February in Da U.P. Head over to our channel and send us a PM if you're interested.
Rick has this. Between buddy and I we had all these sleds at one point. The Zrt 600 is my sled of choice. Make sure go one jet richer on clutch side. I was winning the 600-800 stock classes with just clutching and gearing
This is content!! I can’t wait for tomorrow’s vid!! Need some indoor challenges like electric scoots, drift carts, go carts 😅 y’all could have an uno tournament and it was be epic . Should look at some live streams doing q&a or just chilling with the boys with some burgs and a cold one.
This is a great video. Here’s some ideas: - fastest top speed (gps/gun) - fastest from a dig/drag race - hottest hand warmers? (temp gun) - lightest weight? - fuel mileage? - most reliable (not sure how’d this be done) - overall fun factor rating? - best cornering/handling
Frankie-im fairly certain those bars came off of my old mod sled. Sold them to a guy that didn't know a whole lot about sleds. I also sold him an extended Xtra 12 suspension with a 2 inch paddle track
Yamaha is my go to sled I got some old enticer's and exciters that have walked a few newer sleds with ease. This one 340 deluxe enticer I have is a rocket for it's age and it's CC size but I love the thing even though it's over 40 years old
This is right in my wheelhouse. I grew up on this era of sleds. Looking forward to more of these challenges. Also, I swear I just saw that ski doo on marketplace recently. It has very unique graphics...not the stock ones it came with. I'm sure that was it. I'm in Michigan not far from you guys.
Last winter i purchased 2001 arctic cat zr600 apv with 9000km on clock for 540 euros. It had missing spark, but the stator wires were cut where they are ziptied to the engine. It was all original, everything intact and clean.
I am HYPED for this series! I would’ve smoked y’all with the sled purchase portion of the challenge 😂 but this will be the most hilarious series I think yet 🤣🤣 I’m a snowmobile guy till I die like Doug is, I’m going to live vicariously thru y’all for this one hahah
Dam this may be the most excited I've been for a blog video lol, I tried to Do a 1k snowmobile challenge as well as a 1k dirtbike challenge a couple years ago, fell through. Shooting for a 1k dirtbike challenge again next season, these cheap challenges are super fun. Looking forward to these videos, zr 440 all the way
Best video ever!!! Challenge- longest wheelie - quickest stop - biggest air - 1/4 mile drag - water skip - 40 lap race on your track - pull off last lol 😂 thanks
CHALLENGE IDEAS: 1.) Tow Test - load up a sled trailer with a bunch of firewood (or similiar weight) and record each snowmobile's time over a measured distance. 2.) 0 to 60 to 0 - record each sled's time accelerating to 60mph and then braking (or coasting!) to a complete stop. 3.) Le mans Track Battle - record each sled's time around the course with a "Le Mans" style start. 4.) Muff Pot Cook Off - see which sled can cook a burrito (or similiar) the quickest in a muffpot attached to the exhaust. Measure internal temperature of food with temp gun. 5.) Tug of War - maybe save this for last, (lol) but I think it would be HILARIOUS!! Conduct in a similar round by round style like you guys used to do with the side by sides. I hope some of these suggestions are useful. REALLY looking forward to this series of videos!! Thanks and God bless !
Man I love the thinking behind the challenges. It's stuff nobody expected. I think for one challenge- standing start. You have to stand so many feet away from the machine, start the timer, run to it, start it, and take off
This is great! I'm hopping to see some powder turns, hill climbs, trail breaking, jumps, hot laps, fuel economy comp. and if they survive winter skip some water come spring. So many activities! This winters going to be awesome!
Havnt watched a video in awhile as it’s sled season and this really peaked my interest. I think one of the challenges has to be a 100 mile endurance ride, that would be awesome!
freaking awesome video guys! i have never ridden a sled, but i had never ridden a sport sxs when i found you channel. you have something real special with all the personalities available for your content. so excited for this challenge fellas!
Comment some challenge ideas in the replies!!!!
Power adder challenge
Hope you guys add a mod budget, these sleds are all sick
Ice track circle race
For the last challenge you should jump them. The one with the least damage wins
Water skip 😘
All sxs blog content is great …but this has to be one of my favourite ones in a while. Pumped about this series. I can almost feel the level of excitement that was happening during the unveils…and I could definitely feel the level of butthurt I could see on Leo’s face after 5 pulls 😂
Lol Leo went from absolutely elated about that sled to thinking it was junk in record speed
I agree, best video in a while.
Sous' sled looks like it came with stolen luggage. 😳🤣
Add a muffpot to each buggy and see who can come up with the tastiest meal cooked on their exhaust. And bring Battledad in to be the judge!!!
Yasss!!!
Hell yeah good idea
Great idea
Ol Matty Matheson spreading the love!
The 600 ZRAT ZRT😂😊😂
As a Canadian who is obsessed with snowmobiles I am whole heartedly exited for this one!!!
Legend has it that Doug can fire up ANYTHING with only one pull. Anything.
#FACTS
😳🤣SHAAAAAWING!!
Dude matt is a funny guy im glad he is coming around
A long way from when he almost refused to be filmed
LEOnidas: "Raise your shield ...........higher ...........HIGHER!!"
Matt: "unnnnnnnnngh!!" 🤣
He took Rick's place

Even if they did fail...they would always get you back into town. I miss those days of riding and hanging in the garage with my dad patching them back together for another season. Definitely need to run some 500’ grass drags. Top speed this winter on ice would be a cool challenge too.

I love sxs's, but I've been a sledder all my life, so seeing you guys doing something snowmobile related is sick!
I can’t lie, this is easily this most exited I’ve ever been for sxsblog video. Cannot wait to see where this goes, hope you get snow sooooooooonnnn
Freaking loved the video. I was highly entertained the entire time and now I want to do this with our friends! Looking forward to watching the contest! Ill be watching all your vids as usual but Id actually love to see a video of you guys on some trails with the sleds. Have fun!
As a fellow Michigander that grew up with all these machines. This is the best thing in UA-cam right now. Love it.
Loving this, hill climb, drag race, mud bog,and a fifty mile poker run.👍❤️.Doug’s father should be in charge of the poker run,you get your directions from each check in point for the next 10 miles, see who can navigate and go fast both.
Agree to all the above and add an off trail powder challenge.
dougs spot on once you try a snowmobile, you will understand why he says what he says... snowmobiling is probably the MOST fun of all powersports!
I couldn't wait to watch this! It did not disappoint. Being in Northern MN and growing up on these sleds, I'm super pumped for this series!!
We need a wheelie contest!!! I can not wait for the next episode hahaha!!!
This idea is awesome can't wait to see the challenges. Doug and Mike got the best sleds, those red top yamaha triples are the best triple snowmobile engine ever made, they are bullet proof and sound so good, everything else from that era was a blow up machine.
for triple's frig ya! but the old ski doo 670 twins were right up there with the yamaha's
This is easily one of my favourite videos from the blog. I was smiling the whole way through. Love the SXS content, but also love snowmobiles. Can’t wait to see the rest of this competition.
To this day, I still remember Doug saying he prefers snowmobiles over SXS. It broke my heart. Lol
lol when was this
He's right though
@@jacob1423 back when they had the sled on the old track with the table top maybe two years ago or so. They took it over their table top on the old track

A man of culture
This is going to be an awesome competition! I grew up wrenching and riding older cheap sleds. Good luck to all you guys & let the fun begin 🤟🏼🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁
Same here, but the new(we) sleds we dreamed about were these sleds!!
But once we were up into our mid-teens and above we actually had some of these sleds, finally after years of messing with 60's garbage, some 70's crap and some 80's stuff too..
The late 90s Yamaha mountain max 700 triple was one of the best sleds ever made! Of course back in the day I had every mod possible done to mine!
98 xc700 i had would pull on f7 snowpro
I'm so dam excited. Doug i to love snowmobiling. There is nothing like grabbing a handful of throttle.
I need to see Sous, Rick, Sous and Frank in the old school 90's snow suit. You guys should also do this like Top Gear where whoever breaks down has to drive the 2-stoke X3 with tracks and ski's.
I know NOTHING about snow machines but am stoked for this challenge!
Love it! Hopefully more sled videos in the future!
I am pumped for this! Do a challenge pulling something like an ice fishing shanty on the ice with a turn mixed in there. You will have to go fast, slow down and turn and then get going fast again!
Holy smokes a movie-length sxs blog video
I actually liked the longer video. I dont have no snow mobile ideas but congratulations on these
This is gold. When you run the last contest, larry the enticer should be present to present the awards.
For break downs. Use simple on trail tools to see which ones are most user friendly and versatile. This is going to be on of the best series you guys put on! It reminds me of top gear!
Yeah they should have a timed belt change competition, with minimal tools
I know everyone says it, but Matt has changed tenfold over the past year, so confident in front of that camera now, very proud of him and all of you for giving him the environment to be comfortable.
Being a huge huge snowmobile fanatic this is so far my favorite video ❤️. Can't wait to see you guys rippin
I was 18 and 19 when most these units come out. Everyone was so happy to buy them. Damn I am old
I enjoy how creative you guys are keep up the good work! Wholesome entertainment
This video just reminded me how bummed I was after I sold my 97' Polaris Storm 800 Tripple Tripple. It was such a Beast jetted and clutch work. Boy, do I miss it, great memories.. 🥺😁
Being a snowmobile r my entire life, this was one of your best videos of all time. I was laughing the entire time.
You guys are the best!! Where else can I find a group of guys that are each as entertaining??! Nowhere!
This is awsome! Greasy 90-2000s sleds! Cant Get any better! Cant wait to see the next video of this! 🥰🤩🤩
This is great. Please do more snowmobile contact throughout the winter!
Wouldn't be mad at all if you guys did more sled content. I've always wanted one but don't know where to start
Depends where you live, to start look for a ski-Doo tundra super reliable one banger, not fast at all but goes forever

Yes !! I’ve been wanting to see some sled content forever !
That 97 zr 440 was Arctic cats factory race sled that year. 95 hp. 460 lbs. One of the all time great Cats!
Awesome job guys, such a great selection of memorable sleds👍 Can't wait for the snow games. Who's going to go farther on open water?😁
I freakin love it! Big sled guy here.
Here’s a few…

These kinds of videos are always fun.
I’ve never got to be a part of the snowmobile crowd , so I’m pretty stoked to see the upcoming videos!
Luv Doug laying the smack down right out of the gate 😅
Been waiting along time for you guys to add some snowmobile content. Really like it!
Everyone knows sxs are just to keep you occupied till sled season! 🤘🏼
Good challenges. Love the sleds. Can't wait for the next one

Please accept! I want to see this so bad! Sxsblog got nothing in this competition 😂🤣😂
Hell yes! CSC>>>SXSblog. This needs to happen!! Who will reign supreme??
Who needs fancy 90's sleds with all that suspension, I'd line my leafer up against any of them.
Late model class will be right up their alley but I dont think they're ready for Outlaw class. 😈
Doug's a smart fella snowmobiles over side by sides all day !
a real cold start .. lol garage queens
Have an x3 and a renegade 900T I get way more thrill from the skidoo, I love both but that skidoo really hits the adrenaline button.
Definitely need a hill climb in the challenge!
Pumped for this series love old 90s sleds
These guys all have great personalities which makes this really entertaining to watch. Love these videos.
Loving it! Those sleds were in my hay day. I feel right at home!
SxsBlog stimulating the local economy, love to see it.
HELL YEAH BROTHER! I’ve been waiting for this and I am stoked that the whole crew is involved this is gonna be awesome!!!
Frank got ripped off so bad 😂
Rick has this. Between buddy and I we had all these sleds at one point. The Zrt 600 is my sled of choice. Make sure go one jet richer on clutch side. I was winning the 600-800 stock classes with just clutching and gearing
Thanks Matt! Great idea! Best idea I’ve seen from you guys in years!

This is a great video.
Here’s some ideas:
- fastest top speed (gps/gun)
- fastest from a dig/drag race
- hottest hand warmers? (temp gun)
- lightest weight?
- fuel mileage?
- most reliable (not sure how’d this be done)
- overall fun factor rating?
- best cornering/handling
I love this series perfect for the weather come up north and do some snowmobiling should have snow in a couple days
Excited! We always have thought about doing a ditch pickle challenge with the sled buddies.
this reminds me of the cheap boat challenge Cleetus did, always prime content from you guys!
My new favorite channel, love the older sleds we rode as kids.
Frankie-im fairly certain those bars came off of my old mod sled. Sold them to a guy that didn't know a whole lot about sleds. I also sold him an extended Xtra 12 suspension with a 2 inch paddle track
I am pumped for the snowmobile challenge, great first episode !
Yamaha is my go to sled I got some old enticer's and exciters that have walked a few newer sleds with ease. This one 340 deluxe enticer I have is a rocket for it's age and it's CC size but I love the thing even though it's over 40 years old
Between the V8 quad and these, it's going to be a cool winter of vids!
This is awesome! Love it, looking forward to the rest of the challenges!
Has to be a hill
Climb!!! This video was great!! Can’t wait to see how the competition goes!!
This is absolutely awesome!!! I'm a New Englander and these are the sleds we see for sale here constantly. I'm excited for the next challenge!!!!
Dam this may be the most excited I've been for a blog video lol, I tried to Do a 1k snowmobile challenge as well as a 1k dirtbike challenge a couple years ago, fell through. Shooting for a 1k dirtbike challenge again next season, these cheap challenges are super fun. Looking forward to these videos, zr 440 all the way
Love this shit I am from Ontario Canada and I’ve been a snowmobiler for 45 years plus you guys are the best❤👍🏻🇨🇦🏁
Heck yeah dudes! This video was awesome! I love me some snowmobile riding myself! Can't wait to see what's next for these rigs!
I was a sled guy first. Love this!
Best video ever!!!
Challenge- longest wheelie
- quickest stop
- biggest air
- 1/4 mile drag
- water skip
- 40 lap race on your track
- pull off last lol 😂 thanks
CHALLENGE IDEAS:
1.) Tow Test - load up a sled trailer with a bunch of firewood (or similiar weight) and record each snowmobile's time over a measured distance.
This episode makes me miss my arctic cat zrt600 triple. Thing was hopped up and would go 100mph. Old drag sled. Thing was wild!!
Stock zrt pipes with probably a DG can. They are very quiet with the stock can but straight screamers with a can
Man I love the thinking behind the challenges. It's stuff nobody expected. I think for one challenge- standing start. You have to stand so many feet away from the machine, start the timer, run to it, start it, and take off
Very excited for this challenge!! I can tell how serious you guys all are, especially Matt and Doug!
Man I'm sooo excited for this challenge! Leo was ready to fight after that thang didn't wanna start
Super pumped for this. I think there needs to be a sound competition, water skipping a pond. Longest hole shot.
As far as hundred miler goes, no fuel or breaks, see who makes it then do a “personal feel” with soreness 😂😂😂
freaking awesome video guys! i have never ridden a sled, but i had never ridden a sport sxs when i found you channel. you have something real special with all the personalities available for your content. so excited for this challenge fellas!
Your last comp should be longest water skip. Great vid, fellas!
