This must be officially the millionth time I watch this scene. I absolutely love it. I am a male but I have been in that situation. I went to buy a watch at Macy's and I asked a lady behind the counter for mechanical watches. She responded "those are expensive". She then literally walked away.
Make sure that once you’ve gotten your expensive watch, that you return, go to her and tell her : „I might have bought this at your store if you hadn’t been an asshole“
@@lordinquisitor6651 I did buy my watch elsewhere and probably should do that since I recently was at that store with one of my sisters and saw that lady. As a matter of fact, I told my sister about that incident, and that's why I looked up this scene on UA-cam. It's incredible that things like this really happen. They sound made up but they are too real.
@@skywind007 Do it. I’ve had a similar situation happen to me several times and each time, proving them wrong was quite satisfying. People should stop judging by appearance/ race / whatever. It’s just stupid and has no benefit whatsoever.
@@ami7mina If you look at the scene, Julia Roberts is dressed normally when she enters the store. Your "joke" is misplaced.
@@skywind007 I mean thefirst scene, not the one where she wasa lready glammed up. Also, the dressed normally in the 90s are different as to what dressed normally in today's times are. so I don't think my joke is misplaced.
As a seller, my clients always complain about this bad attitude of the other sellers that they met in the other shops, and this gives me a lesson that I always remember: treat your clients like rich people, and they make you rich. It’s pity that many sale assistants don’t learn to be good 😂
Well thank you for at least treating everyone the same, even if it's just so you can make the sale. I don't mean that in a negative way as I get it that you need to make a living and it's just about survival.
I wish more were at least like you because it sucks when you're financially struggling and just because you can't afford nice clothes and are wearing old second hand clothes most people treat you poorly and give you dirty looks. Life is too hard as it is, you never get a break or are shown mercy, so when people act terrible like that it just makes it all much worse.
That's actually a marketing tactic that this movies started. its now called "the pretty woman effect" that if you get treated badly in a boutique, the more likely you are to come back and splurge, just to prove "ha you're wrong for thinking im poor, im actually rich, and instead of hating you, i will now spend more because my ego was hurt". So luxury brands do it on purpose now. lmao. Remember if a store mistreats you, LEAVE. Don't reward their asshole behavior by buying their shit.
@@jandipopo_art2012 But do you think she should have stepped in that shop dressed like a hooker ? I mean those salesgirls are at fault for being bitches but she is at fault too for her ignorance.
Exactly. When I first got out of college, a very small custom jewelry store treated me well, even though I first came in wearing my Saturday "cleaning clothes". They were next door to the convenience store where I was buying my Saturday beer 😂😂. Over the next 20 years, I spent a lot of money in that store and referred many other people there. The store profited well and the owners have done very well for themselves.
Had this in London once accidentally walked into an expensive store, no prices on any of the clothing. The sales assistant looked me up and down (I’m poor) and said it’s appointment only. Obviously I couldn’t afford anything in the store but she didn’t need to be so rude
This scene is the perfect example of classism if anyone ever needed one.
🎯😊
Our "Racism Is The Only Discrimination That's Ever Existed and That Anyone Ever Need to Think About!" country needs one.
Love the comment 🙂 you could billions of dollars and still be treated like a dirt rag because of who you are, who you were and where your from.
Crazy thing is the clerks can’t shop there and in her same class
This is not an accurate depiction though, if anyone with Julia Roberts face goes anywhere as long as they are neat (except workplace where other girls jealousy will be an issue) they will be treated as Royalty, her bone structure screams old money
"I have to go shopping now" iconic.
Love it!🎉
Can we buy her attitude 😆 😆😆😆
Classic scene!! One of the things i love about it is how she went back to the store ON HER OWN ACCORD and didnt bring Edward, shows how her self confidence was growing. She knew if she went wjth him, it would only fuel the fire to their inital thoughts she that she was trash.
In all fairness, she was in expensive clothes that a rich man bought for her while he was paying for her services. I get it that the women in the store were horrible but at this point in the movie, Julia was just a hooker in designer clothes.
Oh yeah. That is a very good point.
I actually had the opposite happen: I was working in a woman's boutique store and was always nice and willing to help our customers. Once time I greeted this lady and asked if she needed any help. She snobishly remarked, "Why, do you work on commission?" I replied that we don't, we get paid by the hour.... but she just said "If I want you're help, I'll ask you for it." A simple "no thank you" would have sufficed. I didn't do anything to cause her to be rude, but her response made me not want to help her at all. 🙄
I mean I would be mad too if I had a tree trunk stuck up my ass like that lady did.
When I was practicing to be a nurse I was giving shots and one lady that was a patient was being very rude to me ( i was slow and always asked for permissio, was taking my time, told the patient what I am giving them) and my supervisor heard it. Now I don't condone what he did (he poked her around with the IV) but it was a nice reminder to be nice to the ones that take care of you, even if they are getting paid, they are still human.
Ugh thats just retail. I hate it 😒
@moshimoshi400 It's tough because it's always the worst ones that most effect us and stick out in our heads.
In such a situation, smile! Misery loves company, so if you smile, that'll take the wind out of her sails.
I know what you mean. I dealt with the public for 37 years as a government employee. Nuff said.
I can understand where she is coming from. It's a red flag that the sales people think you might be stealing or up to no good so this is their way of letting you know that they are watching you.
My favorite part is that scene with Richard Gere and the one sales guy.
"We're about to spend an obscene amount of money."
"How obscene?"
"Really really offensive."
The intro with her walking by the shops with the song “Wild Women Do” playing screams late 80s/early 90s culture and makes you want to go back to that time period.
Julia Roberts is legit one of the prettiest ladies I’ve ever seen. That smile! 🤩
ALL of this film's scenes associated with Vivian Shopping For Clothes are absolute gold and irresistibly rewatchable!!
That takes the saying “never judge a book by its cover“ to new heights.
But she IS a prostitute. She wasn’t misjudged.
went to the bank in Europe to cash in a check, infront of me was this woman looking that she hadn't had a showers homeless. Yeah, the bank employee said to me when this woman left, she had more money than you on her bank account". Never judge a book by its cover.
That's leather covered not hard cover.
Wilson's leather and suede is few blocks from here.
Chai s and whips are across the Blvd from them.
I worked for RadioShack back in 1999. We did get commission over a certain price point. Late one evening before Christmas, a man in dirty overalls, just filty, comes walking in. My co-workers looked at him and said not it. They took their smoke break. Me, being 17 helped the man. He said to me: "Walk with me." He went around the store, pointed to stereos, surround systems, the largest and most expensive remote controlled cars, batteries, chargers, phones, boomboxes, etc. Turns out he had just come off the oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, just hit shore that night and was there to buy his family's Christmas presents. Ended up spending 3500 dollars. Which is huge for a small electronics store. I did very well. My coworkers were kicking themselves in the asses. Don't ever judge a book by its cover.
It was also a merry Christmas to you for earning your commission in assisting that gentleman...he must have been so exhausted after getting back to the mainland from oil rig working..and was probably very grateful that you helped him with his purchase 🙂
This story is so beautiful and funny! This right here is proof you shouldn’t be so quick to judge
excellent. that is the right thing to do and i'm sure you made some good dough that day. your co-workers are indeed idiots.
I conducted my own social experiment in a Coach store (I know it’s not super upscale but close enough for my area). I was dressed down, so I got side-eyed the entire time and no one would speak to me. Someone finally came up to me and said, “Can I help you with something?” in a snarky tone after I looked at a few price tags then I walked out. When I came back with my aunt and was better dressed, had makeup on, and had my hair done, I told her within an earshot of the employees, “Hmmm, I think it’s funny that they wouldn’t speak to me last week.”
Love watching this scene over and over.
I love love love this scene. I've been in stores where I was treated this way. Wasn't dressed provocatively, or whatever...just jeans & a tee. Saw a cute store, just wanted to look at the nice things...not touch, just look...was kinda depressed that day and the pretty things made me smile. The sales "ladies" treated me like this. Followed me everywhere, like I was gonna stuff a table in my purse. I left, more sad than before.
I dream of winning the lottery, going there, showing them my bank balance, then saying..." you're not getting one cent of it. Bc how you treated me when I was poor." Yes, I'm poor...but I'm honest. I don't steal.
I want you to do it. Good luck!
One of the best feel good scenes in movie history, is about being told, “you don’t belong here, you’re not our type, please leave...”
Only to take your revenge on stupid people, too prejudiced, to think for themselves.
Priceless.
This one is for my mom, who was told, right after she entered an up-market shop, "we don’t have your size". It was extremely demeaning, and painful.
@@margreetanceaux3906 maybe they didn’t have anything in her size….
@@margreetanceaux3906. Amen to that. One time, my mom was asking for help in a store, in front of 4 shopgirls… who proceeding to completely ignore my mom, while a was waiting some distance away. I stepped over immediately and cut them all off, to ask if any of them felt like actually working….”
They snapped to it, instantly.
@@MyWomanKing-ViolaDavisI really hate shopping, so the clothes I have will suffice for a loooooong time. So when I go shopping, 9 out of 10 times I'm not shopping for myself, I'm shopping gifts. Perhaps that woman was looking for a gift, something for someone else, then her size didn't really matter. And they didn't know. The "size" comment was thus just a way of getting rid of her.
@@margreetanceaux3906If that happened again to your mom (hopefully not, though) a good answer would be "Oh, you do not have my size... Nor any manners, It seems". Then leave with head up.
And to think that her first outfit is all the norm today, actually I should say classier than most outfits 😅. Love this scene, and the shot of the car driving by with the two rich dudes on their cell phones, how times have changed 😂.
Were those cell phones? I was wondering why they were holding bricks to their ears....
@@stephaniehowell1109 🤣🤣🤣👍🏻👍🏻
I smile every time I watch this scene! 😊
When I’m down and depressed, I watch this scene😂😂😂😂
It's a great scene 🤩 💖
In the 1990s my son was really sick and I was headed to from Georgia to Washington State to meet with doctors. My mom pulled out $1000 from her account, which back in the day was a lot. She said there is no way I was headed there without classy clothes. At the time Nordstrom was "the" store. We were just "country folk". I have to tell you, all the saleswomen were excited and treated us like queens. My mom was dressed very simple, HEAVY country Appalachian accent and they were so sweet to her. Brought her coffee, water. In the end, the manager came over and said they would like to gift her with an outfit. She told them all she needed was a new pair of jeans and shoes. One of the best memories of my mom. She had a hard life and battled mental illness. I think if we had been treated this way it would have just been devasting to her. So glad she never had to endure.
Probably greatest scene ever
This scene NEVER stops being gratifying to watch lmaoooo The epitome of "do not judge a person based on appearance alone".
Same thing happened to me at the mall at a coach purse store.I didn’t look that well dressed but still the sales lady was like “what’s your budget??” I was like” I’m looking to spend around 250 dollars” and then she said “ oh no honey we only sell purses that are $300 dollars and above” …. And then I was like “o okay thank you” I excited the store. Was it because I didn’t look “well dressed”??? Later I found out that there are coach purses that start around $150 dollars on their website 😒😤
No les hagas caso a esos inútiles, a veces son simplemente perezosos.
Coach is ugly anyway 🤣 for USD250 u can buy tory burch, Michael Kors
As someone who worked in the service industry I can tell you some of the richest people dress the simplest.
There was a guy who would come into my sushi restaurant all the time wearing a t-shirt and simple shorts. But he would literally drop $250-$300 on sushi. Just sushi! Sometimes just him and his wife. And he’d always tip generously. He was a server favorite because he was always kind and polite and down to earth! Those are my favorite type of rich folk!
Those rich folk are few and far between but when you meet them it's cool as hell
@@carlosalegria4776 it’s definitely changing but yeah still somewhat rare. I think with this new generation things will change as much of the old money is starting to die out.
@@workittworkit idk if Old money will ever die I think the economic gap has been increasing way more these times
Anytime I have seen Richard Branson on various media, he has been wearing denim jeans and a t-shirt. Being a billionaire, he could be forgiven for swanning around in the best designer brand labels and suits all the time - but no. No airs and graces and not up his own arse.
@@andycross9840 Make no mistake though. There are companies that intentionally do 'labelless' clothing, so you can't tell what it is, but boy, do those clothes cost money. They are about the same as other expensive (designer) brands. A T-shirt can easily be $700 and those 'simple shorts' that the first person mentioned would probably go for a bit more than that. From my experience, it's mostly people who grew up with money who dress like that. Newly rich people tend to often 'flash' their money more and prefer the brand to be more obvious, at least where I live. And Richard Branson is Richard Branson. He always seems to be the odd one out anyways.
I happens in real life more than people think. Happened to me a few time. Happened to my Uncle in kakafonia. He went look for a new car, staff wouldn't help him. Went to another dealership, bought a car, drove back to the first dealership, found the salesmen that wouldn't help him, and took them out to the new Cadillac he just paid cash for.
My incident was nothing this high class. I worked at a candy store. Around Christmas a man in ragged clothes came in. We did not work on commission. He came in while I was ringing up a customer. My co-worker whispered to me that he would probably only buy one piece of chocolate, so she ignored him and helped the person that came in behind him. I said good bye to my customer and smiled and said Hi, can I help you. He smiled and handed me a wrapped 5 pound box of chocolate, getting it as a gift for a friend. I rung him out and wished him a Merry Christmas. You just never know.
This film never gets old
What do you enjoy the most about the movie? 😍
😂always feels like it's the first time watching
@@STARZPLAYOfficial The way Vivian took the opportunity to improve herself and at the end refused to be the hooker in the condo that Edward wanted to buy for her but instead left under her terms insisting that she be a legitimate part of his life and not the hooker he visited whenever he was in LA.
One of the best scenes from the office 😂😂😂
Ah, good ole Seattle. My sister and I decided to go shopping but we had opposing styles at that point.
I had a more "upper class" dress up day, cause hey why not. And she was all bohemian, loose flowing skirts and shirt. Rings and just pure beauty.
We stepped into a boutique that had a whole outfit she liked. The whole conversation was aimed at me. Imagine their surprise when she came out in the outfit. Old bat asked her to please take it off immediately.
I turned and said "Oh really, as she is the one paying, i think we'll take our business elsewhere." Saleswomans jaw dropped. Left everything in the dressing room and walked out 😅😅😅
The BEST scene in the whole movie!!!!! 🎉
Agree I had that happen once it was like seriously smh
Anyone else here because Thierry Henry made reference to it in the Champions league semi final?? 😂

This is a common sales tactic employed by luxury brands. They are rude and snobby to make you believe it's a privilege you have to earn to shop at their store. Some customers will definitely walk away while others will fall for the obvious ploy by overspending to "show them." The customers who overspend to rub it in the employee's face just fell right into the trap without even realizing it.
That's why no one should ever judge anyone because of how they look or what their circumstances are. We are all flawed and broken in some way. Some of us are able to hide them better than others
This sort of thing happened to me and my bf. We went into some ritzy store in seattle because I liked the coat in the window, but when we went inside the manager looked at the other woman working there and shook her head with this annoyed look on her face - implying they shouldn't waste time waiting on us and making it clear she thought we couldn't afford anything. So they didn't greet us when we walked in and avoided us. The coat I was looking at was 800 dollars. We probably could have afforded *something* in there but we immediately left because of how rude they were to us.
This is a well documented marketing ploy, they do it so people feel like they need to prove something.
I had this happen to me in Louis Vuitton by a sales assistant. Except I asked to speak to the manager as I wanted that person to be taught a lesson to not judge someone because of how they look. The manager checked my account and saw I was a regular shopper at Louis Vuitton and I was then given the best service by an alternative member of staff 😂.
Quite an iconic scene in cinema history 😍 ✨
What do you mean they checked your account? So they needed proof to treat you right? What if you weren’t a frequent shopper? I wonder how the manager would have treated you then.
I was thinking the same thing @@marial3609
I hope the other assistant was fired.
o henry, you cultured man!

Watched this scene a million times on the Office and never seen this movie so thought I’d finally watch it lmao
Oprah tells a great story about shopping for a purse in Paris that went the same way, they literally wouldn't show it to her.
It was in Switzerland (Zurich) cos she was there for Tina Turner’s wedding and they didn’t want to assist her cos she was black basically. Then the salesman realized she was Oprah and a Billionaire and he completely changed his attitude.
He shouldn't of had to change his attitude. If he had treated Oprah decently right from the start , he wouldn't have to look like a first rate AHole !!!
Nah probably because they know she’s a Hollywood madam. Billions doesn’t equal ‘class.’
@@Lulusvideos1 The salesperson said Oprah was lying and they only care about the color green there.
No one really chase us out like that. But, they don't really bother us when we walk into very expensive shop. They know we are just doing window shopping. I have experienced that in expensive watch shops. Those watches cost in 5 digits. But the treatment was very different in Joyalukas and Malabar Jewellery shop. They have so many customers yet we were brought to the Precious stone jewellery section. We tried on most of their precious stone bangles and chokers which cost about RM80k. After all we only bought a 5 pound gold chain. So it depends on the shop.
“I have to go shopping now…” lol 😂
Yup, been there. Never judge a book by its cover, i went to best buy once after work, my clothes were stained because i worked at a busy restauraunt, but made really good tips daily, anyways i waited for help and i was never aknowledged, and the place wasn't even busy. Their loss, i was going to spend a good amount that day
I love that Julia Robert's references this scene at the ending credits of the movie Valentines Day.
Such a great movie, though after watching The Office dozens of times than this, I cannot help but hear this in Kelly Kapoor's voice! Ha!
That brought me here lol!
Best scene in the movie brilliant ❤
I recall something similar, if more extreme, happening to the character of Whitley from “A Different World.” She went shopping in a high-end store and was treated badly by a racist associate. She returned her purchase, telling the manager that the associate has “a problem with people like me.” The manager then asks to speak with the associate in private.
Love this movie!!

I’m a man and love they scene. Believe me, men get the same snobs in stores too.
Love this scene, watched it heaps over the years (but I’ve also retained a deep affection for polka dot dresses from this film also).
I did that, and it felt amazing. Sometimes just because a sales person has a bad day, it doesn’t mean he has to shove his rudeness to the customer. Any customer can turn his bad day into a good one, if he remains in a considerate role.
thats a: BAM! in your face moment, right there!!!
I had a similar experience at a chain boutique when I was looking for a Mother’s Day present. I was dressed professionally but was carrying a backpack because I was a grad student. The clerk approached me. I said “I’m sorry. Would you like me to check my bag?” She said, “No, I’d like you to leave.” Maybe because I am also Asian. Anyway, that chain no longer exists. If that’s how they treated customers I’m not surprised.
Yeesh, all that because you were carrying a backpack?!? She was the working definition of terrible, for sure.
People who are rude to me in any shop don't get my money. I never dress really smart ... but I do have some money and have had this situation happen to me many, many times before

So true, very important lesson, and a great movie 🤩
WOW, things ALWAYS work out perfectly in movies!!! It's so amazing!
Not just in movies. Something similar happened to Selena Quintanilla back in the day too. May she rest in peace.
actually this happens to a lot of rich ass people who dress casually and go shopping and they get disrespected. more than rich people, it happens to middle class families A LOT when they occasionally/rarely decide to shop in areas like beverly hills or someother street that has rich ass shopping brands
It's in the script
What a sweet revenge! ❤💃
My mother looks like Julia Roberts so I look a little (just a little) like her (JR I mean), like I am the same type of messy curly hair + hoops earrings + really big smile + goofy personnality and I am so happy to see her as the lead in those movies. Like even my type can be considered as beautiful and charming yk
ah also, please remind me to say "i'm looking for something conservative" in a shop it's so funny
What I found funny was that I had read a story about Roberto Clemente and his wife who had walked into a furniture store for their new home they had their in Pittsburgh. The salesman took them to a different part of the store where the more "retailed" priced furniture was. Roberto and his wife looked at the furniture in there and didn't like it so they walked back out to the other more "pricey" furniture and the salesman wanted to take them to the other part again. Roberto told him that he wasn't interested in that furniture. The salesman looked at him and told him that he thought that the furniture was more in their price range. Roberto then pulled out this huge wad of cash that he had pulled out of the bank and told the salesman that he could afford ANYTHING that they had. Roberto and his wife didn't stay there but left and got their furniture from a different store.
I thought that it was stupid to judge a person by the color of their skin and have ALWAYS judged people by their heart. For I was once told that angels can appear to be anyone.
Great story. Thanks.
Just another reminder that you should never judge a book by the cover. I remember I remember a time when somebody that I knew was going to a car dealership to buy a car and the person that owned the car dealership refused to work with them because of the way that they looked they thought that because they looked like a poor person that they couldn't possibly have enough money to buy a car from them well they were wrong that person had over $1,800 saved up because the salesperson insulted them and made them feel like they didn't have any money they decided to go elsewhere with their business so someone else made $2,000 which was money that they themselves could have made had they not judged the book by its cover.
As much as I loved this movie my favorite was the uppity saleswoman.
Why did she say "may I help you" since she didn't want to help her? 😅
Many salespeople could make a lot more money if they weren't such idiots by thinking they know who can buy their stuff and who can't.
Frankly, in 2023 Julia Robert’s would be far from the only one walking down Rodeo Dr. dressed like streetwalker.
This is the movie they were watching in the opening scene of Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion.
singer/comedian/ventriquist Terry Fator had a simular story. He walked into a high end sunglasses store. at the time looking like an average joe. the store ignored him telling him he cant afford anything. he insisted he could. it took a while tell someone recognized him. as he had just signed a 5 year $100mil contract to perform in Vegas. He pretty much said same thing to them and in his autobiography called it his pretty woman moment
Thierry Henry brought me here.

LOVE love love love love THIS scene!!! HUGE mistake girlie 😜
“I’d like to order a cheeseburger deluxe please, how much is the meal?” “It’s very expensive… very expensive.” “I got money to spend in here.” “I Don’t think we serve anything here you can afford. Your obviously in the wrong place. Please leave McDonalds.” 😂
This is what happens everytime I go to nordstrom. No one wants to bother helping me. But when someone does, then the other sellers see they fucked up because I walk in with a list of things I'm ready to walk out with. I'm not looking for help I have the money and I just want someone to just ring my shit. This has nothing to do with white women, but all the white women who were discerning and asking for samples or deciding what they wanted got personal sellers just standing and trying to sell to them whereas I was had a list. So its disheartening that I looked like a poor ethnic person.
This reminds me of a similar situation with Oprah Winfrey a decade or so ago. She was shopping in Europe and a clerk didn't recognize her and refused to show her a $40,000 handbag. It's outrageous, but unfortunately retailers have to be that way in some regards. Half the stores in SF have closed due to constant theft. Some of the high end clothing stores are locked all of the time. You have to ring a bell to get let in and they make a decision whether or not to let you in by looking through the glass door. Last time I went to Las Vegas there were dirty homeless people walking through the indoor mall with Louis Vuitton and Prada shops and one guy passed out in a doorway. That's what the world has come to.
Oprah was lying.
LOL I was in Las Vegas in 1985 and homeless people were in and out of the stores and sitting in McDonald's having a coffee. Homeless and vagrants have been hanging around shops and libraries and such for a LONG time. It isn't new.
I agree that stores are getting robbed more frequently yes. Not sure what the solution is but I hope there is one.

I told her "I think that's all the bill is." After which she looked it up and her face lightened up and she said oh yes.
I have never forgotten that.
Judgemental snobs. She showed them!🤑🤨
Watching this in 2023 it's so funny that her outfit was considered scandalous when nowadays this is a normal outfit for a 14 year olds wear to school 😆
With all the dress codes I highly doubt it....

I love the scene in Romy and Michelle’s high school reunion . They are watching this scene and one remarks “waaaaaaaa they won’t let me shop”. And the other says “ I know; like salesgirls on rodeo drive aren’t bigger whores than Julia roberts is playing
Personally, if you give me an attitude while I’m shopping, I will not buy from you!

Its funny. I worked in a major retailer and mens made commission and it was better than what we made by the hour, yet we can sell over two hundred dresses a day.
All of those "short" videos that use the word "satisfying" in the title or subtitles. Pfft. THIS is one of the most "satisfying" moments in movie history. 🤣
That happens, i know it happens, but where i live literally you could be standing right next to a CEO and not know so the smart shopkeepers shut up and help out anyone
One day I was in a jewellery with a friend of mine.We had gone for a walk just before (dirty tennis shoes...)...wet hair.
My friend wanted to buy a ring with a diamond for herself. The salesgirl didn't want to show the precious rings.Nicole had to insist to see them.
When she wrote her check, when the salesgirl saw her name, she was sorry, taken aback...it was too late . My friend and I have never been back to this classy shop !!!
See the thing is, she wasn't using her money. She was using his money.
True..but she was willing to spend it at that boutique and money is money whether a person is a billionaire or not..in that scene the boutique lost money.. and business because the sales women disrespected her because of her appearance...
Some people who come from money , don't need to flaunt it. They know how to handle it and should know how to treat others' with respect .
Good scene....
Walked around the carlot no one would wait on me, hung around for about an hour, finally they sent the young guy out to wait on me bought a new car paid cash, came bank later Young guy comes running out so I went ahead and bought a second new car, whoops.
I remember a story about a young man that visited a car dealership and got treated like this because he did wear his working clothes.
Later on he made another visit only to tell the arrogant car dealer that he bought ten brand new vans from another car dealer because he was so rude to him.
He lost a 200k$ deal because he was arrogant.
My 20 year old son was in New York City Christmas shopping. Went into Michael Kors dressed like a 20 year old (basketball shorts, hoodie and puffer jacket). Told the clerk he was looking for a purse for his mom. Clerk held up a purse and sneered, “Something like this?” Holding out the price tag that read $1200.00. My son replied, “Yeah, or I can go higher.” Next thing you know he was sitting in a chair with a glass of champagne while they modeled purses for him. Don’t assume that 20 year olds cannot be successful.
