I remember seeing this when it premiered at the movies. Packed theatre. Everyone was in awe. Dead silence. Just absolute brilliance.
easily one of the most jaw-droping profound scenes in ANY movie of All Time.

Absolutely insane John Williams' music score wasn't even nominated by the Academy, despite now being one of the most recognizable songs in cinema.
Because the Academy is a fucking joke
well, the main jingle is very good. And there are other good parts.
But John Williams also did Schindler's List that same year, which is a much better score, and everyone knew he was going to win for it, which he did. I suppose they could have double nominated him, but what is the point of that?

The Academy does not, and never has, given awards on the basis of merit. Academy Awards are based solely on the personal tastes of the Academy.
Everything JW does is iconic and recognizable and worthy of an Oscar. But Schindler's List was the truly stunning and emotional score that earned him the Oscar that same year. The Jurassic score was "Mr. Williams does it again." But the Schindler score was "*gasp*, *sniffle*, Wow... John... you made me cry."
This whole sequence from beginning to end - easily one of my favorite parts of the movie. None of the sequels beats the original Jurassic Park.

@@antonboludo8886 In the movie theater when the film was first released. And one of the things I love about it the most is that the film effects from back in 93 still hold up perfectly. They look the most realistic to me out of all the films. Jurassic Park is a true modern classic.

I love Alan’s reaction. He almost faints. As any of us would if we saw something so unreal. No silly catch phase. No jokes. He’s in complete awe.
To be more specific, what makes him almost faint is when he realizes there are T-Rexes in the park as well, which in itself is a bit humorous.

I’m not ashamed to admit that I still get emotional watching this scene, 29 years later. When dr. Grant turns his head toward the pack of parasaurolophus by the water and the two brachiosaurus crossing the lake, and John Williams’ incredible score rises to its crescendo, I get a lump in my throat. This movie was such a huge part of my childhood. 7 years old in 1993, I get a rush of nostalgia whenever I see a scene from Jurassic Park. But this scene in particular hits me different. It turns back time for me, somehow. I love Jurassic Park.

I was the same age I believe. My younger brother wasn't able to come as the reviews said there were some scary bits. The 90s were truly a special time for entertainment

As a kid who was so passionate about dinosaurs and paleontology, when this movie came out, it was one of the defining moments of my life. Had the fortune of seeing this with my mom in the cinema in 1993 when it came out and everybody had their jaws dropped. To this day, it remains one of the best movies ever made. Thank you, mom. Thank you, Steven Spielberg. Thank you, John Williams.
The new ones just don't capture it. What we experienced watching this is what people experienced watching Jaws back in 1975. Then all sequels where downhill from there.
There is just something so good about originality in cinema. That one off moment that can't be replicated, no matter how good the CGI or how impressive the latest dinosaur is.
The only exception to this is Top Gun 2. Because they didn't just repeat it with CGI, they put pilots in cockpits of real fighters and gave us a new experience.
Same here. I was only five when I saw it in the theater in '93. The part that stuck with me the most was this scene and the Velociraptors in the kitchen. I had the Jurassic Park toys and would even pretend that I was a Velociraptor on the playground chasing my friends.
I was ten when I saw this in 93. Up to then I had lived off of movies like the land that time forgot, and journey to the center of the earth. Claymation and puppets. I still love the old films and effects but this movie really was shocking how real everything seemed. It’s one of my core memories of childhood

Watching this scene in 1993 felt like the complete rebirth of film itself before our eyes. The absolute power of it left us stunned. It was like people in the 1930s seeing colour film for the first time.
That sound of Brachiosaurus @5:05 (with background score) still gives me chills. The best possible dino entry of the entire series for me.

Dennis running into that Dylophosaurus was pretty much a funny scene...
But yeah, seeing a big dinosaurus in real life can be impressive, even when it's just harmless, just that in real life nobody has ever seen the real deal except on movies or books...
It takes at least a few tons of food everyday, the Brachiosaurus might have been the biggest and heaviest Dino, but it's harmless, and it made good food for Rexy....
But have they forgotten about the Diplodocus ?? It was pretty big too....

Jurassic Park is the only movie that ever filled me with an overwhelming sense of awe and inspiration. My dad took me to see this theatres in 1993, and it absolutely blew me away.

Grant and Ellen reactions at 4:31 and 4:57 are one of the most amazing things in this movie. Just imagine being the witness of something straight from another world? Seeing the impossible right in front of you?
Don't need to imagine... that was me in the audience in 1993, feeling the same awe. No one had ever pulled off such realistic living creatures in movies before. :)

@@akerhunter First of all, what you described is part of the opening scene from “The Lost World: Jurassic Park”. Second, the little girl is actually attacked by a group of Compsognathus, or Compys for short.

I saw it in theaters five times and bought a Chinese bootleg VHS at a comic con a year before it finally came out officially. I was thirteen. I'll curious if it holds up in 4k, but aside from the effects it's just an awesome movie.

The actors nailed their parts in this scene. Imagine a paleontologist who made their careers looking at bones, seeing dinosaurs in real life. Rocks their world.
I saw this 11 times in the theater. It was my favorite movie that year. It still holds up. Beautiful!!!
I swear everytime I see the brachiosaurus come into frame I always tear up. The music and cinematography in this scene is beautiful
This entire sequence of scenes, from the helicopter ride to Hammond saying "I will show you," is nothing but a true masterpiece. Spielberg did an outstanding job not only in captivating the minds of young audiences but of every single demographics. This was more than just a scene. It was an invitation to everyone to Jurassic Park. I remember watching the movie when I was 4 or 5. I was in absolute awe and still am. However, what I have learned as I got older is why Dr. Grant and Dr. Sattler reacted that way wasn't just in awe. Still, they got to see what they have spent their entire professional career working as paleontologists and all their theories and hypothesis in front of their own eyes.

I was just a kid in Vancouver Canada, when this movie first came out. I saw it and it was such a magical experience that 90's night.
@@journeytrials Same, except I lived in Burnaby , at the time. My dad picked me up from soccer practice in the summer of '93, and surprised me by taking me to see Jurassic Park. I was 14, and I still remember the experience vividly.

We lived in UBC for a while, we first lived in Surry when we moved there in 93. Then a few months moved to UBC then Richmond then seven years later we moved to the USA 🇺🇸 Maryland! That was 2000! Crazy small world!

I was 10 or 11 when this came out. My parents took me and my sister to see it at a drive in. It's hard to impress on young people today the kind of reaction original audiences had. Never before had realistic dinosaurs been seen on film. Everybody was gobsmacked. It was incredible. Still one of my all time favorite movies. And that music!
The sheer amount of awe and brilliance of this scene is immeasurable. I was only a kid when I first saw this movie. And it was one of the handful of movies which was available at that time on CD - VCR. Man, this is whole movie sums up the word - nostalgia to me.
One of the last times movies were considered magical. It let us see something we never thought we could see. Wasn't filled with the big celebrities of the time. Had a magnificent score and truly ground breaking effects that still hold up and are used sparingly to give things scale.

Lord of the Rings Trilogy was one of the last immersive/magical trilogies in my opinion. Also, the musical score was even more awe inspiring than even Jurassic Park, and that is saying a lot when up against John Willams. Although Jurassic Park is still in the top five musical scores definitely.
@@priyankatabhane I get what you're saying in terms of visuals but it certainly hasn't packed such emotional punch as JP. I mean, I must have seen this scene 50-60 times and it still brings tears to my eyes.
Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Titanic, Harry Potter 1, Godzilla, Awatar, Pirates of Caribbean were some what magical and ahead of their time.!
The build-up of anticipation, the reactions, the timing, the variety of camera magnifications and angles, the crescendo of the iconic music. Why can't filmmakers these days perform such magic?

4:16 is probably one of my favourate scenes in movie history. I get teary eyed everytime. Even after having watched this hundrets of times.
Right at 5:00 has got to be one of the most awe inspiring cinematic moments in history. Just the jaw dropping shock of seeing an actual dinosaur for the characters and the way Speilburg captured that emotion. This is almost a lost art.

The metaphor at 2:25 went way over my head watching this as a child.
I was so lucky to see this in theatres when they re-released it. It was my first time since I was like 7 when it came it out. To hear and see and feel this movie as it was intended to be was one of the best cinematic expierences of my life. When this part came up I actually cried. When the T-Rex roared for the first time I actually covered my ears because it was so loud. I loved every second of it

Exactly, you may *think* you know what's coming. But we were all delightfully, jaw-droppingly wrong when seeing this for the first time.
1993 I was there in the theaters, an astonished 17-Year- Old witnessing this lightyear leap forward in SFX. Industrial Light and Magic stunned everybody with the CGI Liquid Terminator in 1991 but then, within the span of just 2 short years, they absolutely brought the house down using the same tech to create photo realistic, organic, moving-Dinosaurs. Since 1993 there has never been another SFX innovation that 🤯🤯🤯 everyone on quite the same scale.
We need another original ground breaking movie like this to get things interesting again.

Fr tho, imagine being a parent in the 90's and you take your children to watch this dinosaur movie that has been getting a lot of attention in the cinema. You get there expecting it to just be some monster movie like Godzilla or something, but you end up being surprised by one of the greatest pieces of media in history.
Man, I wish I could've seen this in cinemas. Absolutely love this entire franchise
I was ten when it came out, my parents were huge fans of Michael Crighton and had read the books. We saw it in one of the last drive in movie theaters in our area. We were in awe the whole time. It was an amazing experience
Unbelievable. It's still to this day one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. More than any other JP/JW film, THIS ONE still 30 years after I saw it the first time on my birthday 1993 brings tears to my eyes seeing these animals. And they aren't even really there. But to imagine them being so... it's something else. Thank you Universal Pictures for giving the world these films.
I didn't get a chance to see this when it was playing in the movies and even when I saw this scene on my new big 31" HDTV I still thought, "Man, I should've seen this in the theater." Spielberg's magic at its best.
2:33 I remember as a kid seeing this, the helicopter descending with the waterfall in the background had EVERYONE in theater doing a big gasp, you could hear it even with John Williams crescendo. Haven't experienced anything like that in a movie since then

here in Brazil watch it 5 times at the cinema, I bought the VHS. I was 19 years old, the sound of the movie was great in the movie theater,, People applauded at the end..Many watched the movie standing up..
This sequence still gives me goosebumps. On it's first release I saw it four times on consecutive Saturdays, and was blown away each and every time. Awesome!

Jurassic Park was the first movie I had watched in a theatre back in 1993. I was eight months old at that time. I am on my way to watch Jurassic World Dominion in the theatre now. 29 years ! But everything pales in comparison to this one scene - the Brachiosaurus, the actors , the dialogues & the background score - sheer brilliance !
This movie came out 30 years ago. The CGI still looks great. WOW.
Sometimes I forget how good the Jurassic Park theme and score are. Probably one of the best ever.

From beginning to end this is one of the greatest sequences ever put together on film. The way the cast, the writing, the cinematography, the score and effects all come together, it's simply awe inspiring. A testament to the power of film making.
This makes that dock scene from Fallen Kingdom even harder to watch @6:00. Yes, I think it's the same brachiosaur. Easily the saddest scene in the entire series so far.
Jurassic Park is one of those movies that will always age gracefully and will always be a cultural relevant icon.
Still remember the first time I saw this season. Everyone in the cinema hall had same expression as Dr Grant. In awe of the dinosaurs, the music in the background reaching its crescendo and John Hammond saying welcome to Jurrasic Park. Absolute goosebumps. Its 2022 & still when I watch this movie its the same feeling.

My Favorite movie forever.
7:10 This was the first time I ever had to explain something to my dad, as he didn't get why Grant was so astonished by the fact the dinos lived in herds. As a kid who devoured hours of documentaries about dinosaurs, I knew that people like Robert Bakker (the real-life inspiration for Dr. Grant and the paleontological advisor on the movie) had been theorizing for years that herbivore dinosaurs, especially the largest ones, were social animals, not unlike modern-day elephants or buffalos. Grant is moved by the fact he\Bakker was right all along.
Since opening day in 1993 it’s been my favorite movie and soundtrack of all time and will watch it over and over again for the rest of my entire life! 🦕🦖❤️

It’s nearly been 30 years since this movie came out, man I’m starting to feel old.
finally watched this in the cinema yesterday for its 30th anniversary-fulfilling a childhood dream.
I was 11, living in India when Jurassic Park was released and our school took us to watch it a theater. The premise of going to watch a movie, school sponsored, not having to study that day, was just too much for us pre teen kids. I remember the giddy feeling to the day. And then, this scene, brings back tons of nostalgic memories of the day, a world unseen, unknown. Sitting with friends in the theater with a bottle of campa cola (yes yes, I'm old, haha) and mouth agape... And recently, I went to Kawaii, took the same helicopter ride at the Na Pa Li coast, landed at this very spot next to the waterfall... And turned a 42 year old man to a 11 year old kid all again...
I've seen this movie 100 times, and I never realized until now that Ellie was looking at a leaf in the jeep. I always thought she was looking at a map. Maybe I just never paid attention enough to see. Thanks 4k?
The scene where she pulls the leaf off the tree was in the original theatrical release only and then disappeared. A shame that the “extended” cut isn’t a full cut.

I remember my brother taking me to see this classic film at the theater when I was a kid. The theater was packed. My brother passed away nine years later but he took me to see so many great movies in the 90s and early 2000s. Good times
This brachi scene will forever be imprinted on my mind. The most magical moment.
Remember watch this movie with 10 years old and with this scene just crying, because I never watch dinosaurs so real, with the muscles and bones, it was soooo moving.
I should say that it was the most outstanding movie of all time!

Everyone who has seen this film has similar experience, the best time of their childhood, irrespective of the place where they have seen this film, the emotion this film brings even today is unparalleled because deep down we know that back then world was a better place to live in, just simple joys of life which is impossible to experience in today's times and that makes this film immortal. Perfect music, raw emotion and countless memories.

Can you please tell me the movie name In which movie a little girl meets trex dinosaur baby in jungle which and when she gives feed after that many babies came and she afraid of them
@IMJarvis29 the only seen I can think about where a little girl feeds dinosaur would be the very beginning of jurassic Park. They weren't t Rex.
