I've always loved hearing Scotland the Brave on bagpipes. My late mother had a CD of bagpipe music she liked to play and I suppose it also partly reminds me of her. Why an American woman from El Salvador liked bagpipes I can't tell you, but I suppose that proves that it can appeal to all sorts of people!
I'm german, have been 4 times in wonderful scotland, first time 1991, last time 2015 and we are coming again in June for our holidays. The time is right. We like the proud and very friendly people who lives there in this fantastic part of the world. We meet some friends again. We like how the scots have fight for the independence of england in the past under Braveheart William Wallace. So I don't know right if I'm allowed to say that : Is it better when she will go home for ever? It was not played Scotland the brave in to the video. Flower of scotland where a better song to send her home.
I used to stay with friends, now gone, in a first floor flat, in the block between St Giles and Tron Kirk. Viewing this procession from their front window would have been sad in that any funeral procession is sad, but at the same time glorious! My ancestors, Ulster Scots have been in North America for six generations and lots of strife, but we still honor our Scottish roots.
My ancestors may have come from the UK, but even though I have been German for 9 or 11 generations, I feel a certain deep connection in the sounds of these bagpipes. She is and remains the Queen. The eternal Queen.

@@ianmacewan9416 that's such a selfish mindset, if everyone sought independence for self greed, the shetland islands would cede from scotland and take all their oil wealth with them
@@Armed-Forever Why should Scots NOT be greedy. England certainly is and has been for over 300 years. The only people on the Shetlands constantly shouting to the English press about independence are the English controlled council members FACT. The Shetland Island's have NO sea bed. NO oil claim and personally I could not give a damn if they did go at take the oil. Getting out of English rule would be worth ten times that.
@@ianmacewan9416 I hope you see this and can reply. Why do you dislike being part of the UK so much? The UK was formed by Scottish King James VI in 1603. For the next 400 years, Scotland and England stuck together, the peasants suffered and the nobles kept us all in the mud. As time has gone on, the lower classes of both countries fought hard to improve our standard of living, we now live in a democratic nation. In 1997, Devolution was implemented to allow the smaller nations to govern themselves more effectively. The decisions on who got to sit in the Scottish Parliament was then voted for by the people of Scotland. Scottish Parliament are able to make decisions on Health and social care, Education and training, Local government, Agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Transport, Justice and policing and Sports and the Arts without Westminister. Scotland has allocated seats in the Westminister Parliament so they can affect decisions on the entire UK. In fact Scotland has 10% of the total seats, despite only representing 8% of the UK. (England has 82% of the seats, despite making up 85% of the total population). We fought for each other during the wars and died side by side. Some new enemies want us all to fail, and they want the union to collapse as it works to their benefit. It helps them prove that democracy doesn't work, and that we can't talk to each other and make things work. We might tease each other, but honestly I think most of the English have the uttmost respect for the Scottish. This is our island home, we share it whether we like it or not. I have always been proud of the UK, and what the nations have achieved together. If a Scotsman said to me he didn't like me because I was an Englishman, I would laugh and see if he wants another pint. I consider myself as British first, English second. As do my family and friends. Personally, I will be sad to see Scotland go. But I think that government should only be by consent and if thats what the majority want then they should get it. And I think independance is inevitable at this point. I will just say though, Brexit was a disaster for the UK. The majority of the people decided to cut ties with our main trade partner. We were all promised control and riches by the ruling politicians. We were told all the problems in the nation were the fault of the European parliament, despite how we had our own parliament at home controlling pretty much everything. We were told we could make new trade deals with new partners who definitely wanted to buy our stuff and not rip us off with poor quality products. But all we ended up doing is making things worse. We cut ourselves out and neutered our international influence over the EU. Made ourselves weaker. England is Scotlands biggest trading partner. Now imagine the EU is the UK. And the UK is Scotland. Do you think Scottish Exit will go any different? Access to free trade is everything.

As a Lowlander from a little village called Thornhill in Dumfries and Galloway, I Consider myself both British and Scottish. On this island that is our home, we have such wonderful cultures in Scotland, Wales, and England. It's these cultures that make Great Britain. We are so much greater together than apart.
I am an American by birth, a Scotts/Irish & Eastern European Jewish by Ancestry but I have always loved British themed things. I absolutely love bagpipes and love how they were used to honor Queen Elizabeth II for one final send off. Rest In Peace Your Majesty.
Proud American here. My family is of Scot-Irish decent. God rest your queen. This song always reminds me of my time in uniform. God love you my cousins.
I’m probably one of a very small minority of Americans that loves bagpipes. I have CDs of pipe and drum bands. I think SCOTLAND THE BRAVE and THE SKYE BOAT SONG are beautiful.
As a Hong Kong citizen, although I am still a bit young, Hong Kong was a British colony before, so bagpipes are one of my favorite sounds, I often listen to them and may the queen rest in peace.
Scotland did herself proud to honor the Queen and shepherd her on her final journey. What is the tune at 04:52 ? It did not seem to be part of "Scotland the Brave ".
Someone's comment: 'Tunes at the start are Highland Laddie and Scotland the Brave',...then Bonnie House Of Airlie and then one whose name I do not know' :-)
many people do not know that in spain in the north we have places where bagpipes are the traditional instruments there... spain is not only flamenco...i love them being my self from the north of spain, in a sense like in england, as scotland is in the north also...
I'm American by birth but English.Scottish and Irish mixed with Swedish and Dutch. every time I hear bagpipes, I get this really intense longing for home. I have always admired the queen as a role model, each time I see these videos of the respect that the British people have for their Queen, it makes me well up.
What the band was playing was not ‘Scotland the Brave’. The Scottish pipes & drums play ‘the Black Bear’ when marching back to their barracks. The crowd was applauding the Queen in gratitude for her long life of service. This was the procession to St. Giles Cathedral for the beautiful service held there. After it, the Queen’s coffin was flown to London so, if they had played ‘Scotland the Brave’, it was the last time they played it FOR HER as it says it the title. Thank you, Scotland, for your wonderful send-off to Her Majesty.
Marion - please... unless you really know what Regimental Pipes and Drums play, I advise you not to spread misinformation based on what you heard some bloke say, as you (hauf-jaked) watched The Royal Edinburgh 'Military' Tattoo on Hogmanay.
If you got to grow up in Scotland, be glad. My MacIntyre ancestors were run off ancestoral lands and came to North Carolina. But we flourished here. The pipes and drums pull me back toward Scotland. Maybe one day I'll be able to smell the air and a handful of dirt.
Ah... the American view through blue tinted glasses. Whereas the Highland clearances were, no doubt, painful for the families at the time, those families were living in a form of 'slavery' - for a wee strip of rough land, and accommodation in a stinking stone house (shared with animals), the men (and boys) of the family were to provide the fighting force for the clan chief. Just look at the results of the final Jacobite Rising... slaughter of poorly-equipped clan armies; forced to fight in support of a 'foreigner', in order for their clan chiefs to retain their feudal control of the poorest of the poor. Emigration to the Americas allowed these families greater opportunities. Life was hard - but as was the feudal run-rig lifestyle they left behind. It's called progress. And, thanks to your distant relatives' cross-Atlantic move, you are now enjoying the perks of the Land of the Free.
@hetrodoxly the Campbell's didn't want any rent, they wanted my ancestors gone. The sheep would make Campbell's rich and no people to be bothered with.
@ Strength in Union no indeedy, no blue tinted glasses. My ancestors lived in the colonies about the same as they did in Scotland. They had to work their way up here the same way the Scots who didn't get pushed out worked their way up. You sound as if maybe your ancestors were some of those doing the pushing . Of course if there had not been so many Irish and Scots pushed out to the colonies there wouldn't have been such a strong USA to pull your chestnuts out of the fire in three different wars. Now our president is keeping everybody together to keep Ukraine from being stomped by puttie. I fully support helping Ukraine with whatever they need.

It must have been nice to live in a county where the head of state was WORTHY of respect and admiration.
By about 10% of the forelock tugging sheep you mean.
Irish, but the pipes always bring me pride. Cheers.
So beautiful for the fierce and loyal monarch! 🏴🇬🇧 magical Queen Elizabeth 2 ♥️♥️
I'm Scots , Irish and German and I have always loved the Pipes
The idea of the Queen leaving her beloved Scotland for ever still gets me.
RIP Her Majesty. 😢
God Save the Queen.
Scotland the Brave always stirs my soul, and I’m from the US
My ancestors may have come from the UK, but even though I have been German for 9 or 11 generations, I feel a certain deep connection in the sounds of these bagpipes. She is and remains the Queen.
The eternal Queen.
Jawohl! 🇩🇪❤️🇬🇧

Factual statement!
Stronger for England NOT Scotland

May you forever Rest In Peace Your Majesty, you did well
The scottish Pipers are so amazing I love it
the most heartbreaking moment in this video for me is seeing princess anne coming out of st giles, she looks so pained with grief
Grief is hard enough as it is without the world's media watching your every move; even if the loved one is very old.
She did her mother proud! Never left her for a moment. God Bless.
those pipers are amazing!.... that is an art form unto itself.
G-d Bless Queen Elisabeth...G-d Bless the King...never thought I'd see that day...
ecellent pipe music and well timed and well mannered and well done to those who took part in this parade
I am English and I would like to comment on the pipers. Not only is the music very stirring the also look magnificent.
American here and I love this!
Scots are not brits.
You ether get it or not… imagine hearing this 200 years ago tilling a field dropping your plow and following the sound of destiny
God bless her soul I miss her as queen.

Brilliant. I am English, but I love the pipes.
I think more of us love the bagpipes than you think!
I'd imagine plenty of plastic paddies love that sort of thing.

Ha! There are huge Celtic Festivals all over the US and Highland games too!
As a Hong Kong citizen, although I am still a bit young, Hong Kong was a British colony before, so bagpipes are one of my favorite sounds, I often listen to them and may the queen rest in peace.
Welsh and British. I love my place and I love our place in the world. Must do it. Don't be weak.
And your place under your English masters.
Scotland did herself proud to honor the Queen and shepherd her on her final journey.
What is the tune at 04:52 ? It did not seem to be part of "Scotland the Brave ".
Someone's comment: 'Tunes at the start are Highland Laddie and Scotland the Brave',...then Bonnie House Of Airlie and then one whose name I do not know' :-)
East belfast ..Good night God bless you Mam..best send off ever...best people...best tune...best instruments...😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤
many people do not know that in spain in the north we have places where bagpipes are the traditional instruments there... spain is not only flamenco...i love them being my self from the north of spain, in a sense like in england, as scotland is in the north also...
Because they’re Celts as well!
You have got to love the Scottish

No you don't "got to".

My grandma loves Scotland and so do I, you lads did the Queen proud. From America.
Our Late Queen loved Scotland it was her home
I'm American by birth but English.Scottish and Irish mixed with Swedish and Dutch. every time I hear bagpipes, I get this really intense longing for home. I have always admired the queen as a role model, each time I see these videos of the respect that the British people have for their Queen, it makes me well up.
Goosebumps everytime xxx
Beautiful…just beautiful!!!!
Respect from your Gallic brethren, the French.
Only the Bretons are Celts.
Bow low Scottish peasant and serf.
Marion - please... unless you really know what Regimental Pipes and Drums play, I advise you not to spread misinformation based on what you heard some bloke say, as you (hauf-jaked) watched The Royal Edinburgh 'Military' Tattoo on Hogmanay.
Preciosa tradición, espero y perdure 1000 años.
One of the most beautiful of anthems. Thank you all.
They couldn't afford to pay the Campbells their rent, they were made a clan in 1991.

The majority of the people living in Scotland (Scots living elsewhere were not allowed to vote!) voted for Scotland to remain in The Union.
Not everyone in Scotland focuses on the financial benefits of being in the Union.
Not everyone is a rabid Nationalist.
Most of us just are happy to be British. Until nastiness/hatred was forced upon us by those now in power in Holyrood, this was the finest quarter of The Union.
