    I also have a red Fender Squier precision bass. It's one of the best sounding and playing basses I have ever owned, and that's over 50 years of playing, and owning many other Fender basses !!

    I own a 2009 model identical to yours, apart from the fancy bridge (mine is the stock version with the big brass barrel saddles). I also acquired mine about seven years ago on the secondhand market. It is still 100% factory stock. Still as sweet and p-bassy as a p-bass gets. Still my #1.

    Very nice instrument indeed! I’ve always been watching every video of yours with your Classic Vibe: it’s a joy to see you playing it; you make it sing, really. I myself have one of these, same colour; I bought it new in 2010 and, thanks to its finish, it’s as good as new - although I’ve played it to death because it’s my favourite bass. The gloss finish makes it very stable too: I have to adjust the truss-rod frequently on other instruments when the humidity or the weather changes, but not on the Classic Vibe.
    As you say, this is a golden age for electric instruments - but sadly, maybe just for that…
    By the way, very good backing tracks too! Thank you for your videos and best regards.

    Cool bass & strings, and very nice playing! I have the VM Fretless P from Squier, and love it. But mine has roundwounds (the original Fenders are good enough), and its Ebonol nonfretboard doesn't seem to care about them. Like you, I used to play directly into my interface, but since a few days I also use a Tech 21 VT Bass DI which lets me dial in a B-15N style tone and also still go in unprocessed via its parallel out. Oh, and like you I also use Sennheiser headphones, love them - just gave my HD598SE to my brother, now using the HD560S :)

    I also have this bass and have tried numerous types of flats on it with varying degrees of success. High string tension combined with blue end-wrapping made the bass less enjoyable to play and look at for me. Recently, I found some Thomastik Jazz flats at a local music store and I am sold on them. They sound great despite not being broken in yet as they are only days old on the bass. I bet they'll play like butter in a few months. The lower string tension, combined with the matching red wrapping on the ends, make the bass easier to play and look better than ever! Still using foam as opposed to The Bass Mute though. Enjoyed the video. Vielen Dank!

    As an owner of one of these for five years i can say that this CV series is much better than the current run. Lightweight but really punchy, Hi mass bridge, brass saddles, good tuners. I paid £230 for mine. it has a few small dings and knocks but i could easily get double what I paid for it on e bay because they are such good instruments.

    As always great video and demos. A few things to share with you. First gen Classic Vibe instruments like this one got their pickups made by ToneRider apparently. Also you mentioned the first Squiers were made in Korea. I guess you forget the Japanese ones ? JV series and following E series I think. My current 70s style Jazz Bass has pickups coming from a Korean Squier and after trying a lot of pickups, THEY're the closest to original 70s Jazz Bass pickups I could find! In my honest opinion. Cheers!

    • @bapt_andthebasses
      @bapt_andthebasses 2 роки тому +2

      Another point abouy the tuners. Your bass doesn't have the original tuners. But the original tuners were also made by Schaller. Just not stamped.

    Tasty playing, and a wonderful tone. These squires really rock indeed.
    I've seen Joe Dart on a Vulfpeck track with the same bass in sonic blue finish.
    I'm afraid that the Bassmute could be troublesome for palm muting near the bridge, no ?
    And what about the TI vs Chromes playing ?
    Regards.

      @MichaelSchmittEleven  2 роки тому +1

      Thx a lot for your kind words. I really enjoy the bassmute on that bass. And while you might have to adjust the palm muting a bit, it's not really disturbing. The TI flats are phenomal strings.
