It is, but in the Black Metal section.
The recipe for power metal is locking a bunch of nerds in a room with the complete discographies of Metallica, Iron Maiden, and Rush as well as every D&D Sourcebook and the complete works of JRR Tolkien.
Actually just swap out Metallica for Blackmore’s Rainbow, Rising, Long Live Rock and Roll, Heaven and Hell, Mob Rules, and the entire Dio discography.
@@OneTrueVikingbard Throw Mob Rules out there and Tenacious D in, and you essentially described my musical education
@@OneTrueVikingbard that’s not bad. Lol sounds like what I call a “evening well spent”.

Eta: cancel that it was rhapsody
I feel like another one for the power meal would be when Otto was playing the lute at the ren fair.
"Princess in the dungeon; dragons in the lair. There's potion in my wizard's pot; drink it if you dare! Lute solo!"
A lot of theses “X genres of X thing portrayed by Simpsons” are poorly executed. This one is on point and hilariously so.
Choosing Ahab for the Doom section was a great touch.

Hearing Blind Guardian right as Bart said you're hanging with nerds got me good.
You used Mastodon for sludge. That's great. I wonder if anyone else caught it. Brann Dailor's drumming is so recognizable. I love how spontaneous it feels without it being all over the place.
Sure did, although I think Crusher Destroyer would’ve been more fitting. Brann is a humble beast and one of the best modern metal drummers ever.
@@Goofballhero Not just that. He's also a great singer. How can one man be so talented?

Power/ symphonic metal mades me laugh a lot, hangings out with nerrrds just awesome
It's not avantasia but blind guardian
And Then There Was Silence is actually a Blind Guardian song, not Avantasia. Hansi Kursch was on the last Avantasia album though, so it wasn't too far off.
I'm a huge blind guardian fan so that was unintentional, but I think it's almost a prerequisite for these videos now that I fuck up one of the song credits
I credited a Thy Art is Murder song to As I Lay Dying in the second video just because I had both open and wasn't paying attention haha
NEEEEEEEEERD
I won a spot on the guest list for a Blind Guardian show ( radio STN. contest) , had never heard of the band, went,& was blown away,
The band was cooking, the crowd was singing along all night, noshing wildly, ' twas a good time.
So crowded, I had to watch from way up, staring straight down . I could have held a beer out, let go, & it would have hit the snare drum 30' below . I think the staff has blocked off this area since, huge hazard .
