The more you look at this image the better it gets - the keys with the Aphex Twin logo key holder, the Atari ST mouse with a broken right button, the AFX stickers on pedals / effects boxes... and who knows what else. The laboratory of a true genius!
When/ if I'm knocking on heaven's door someday, trying to get in, but no one is home THIS WILL BE the "on hold" song echoing throughout the celestial world as I wait on the stoop outside
His soundcloud stuff works so well for commuting, I've been listening to it ever since I first heard it in like 2018 or so. I have so many specific memories with tracks being tied to certain places or train stations etc. It's just great, his music is very spatial
I used to have On the Romance Tip as my alarm clock and later on after listening to it casually, I found myself not liking it as much as before. I've learned not to set tracks I like as alarms or ringtones lol
@@cmiller1515Mozart would have composed regardless of music theory. He was writing symphonies young from what I understand. I also believe the Twin was writing some brilliant melodies fairly young.
this song always reminds me something that would be playing in a mid-millennium royal stone village upon you entering or something. the skippy “gallop”-y snares sound like horses and carriages stomping through the street. i envision the monteriggioni from assassins creed 2
this is actually the music that plays in the purgatory hall while you wait for god to reconsider your case. the heavenly music is intended to calm you down in case you're god's child, the clock is a reminder for those dark souls that are beyond hope
This must be what heaven sounds like. Imagine, you wake up to a beautiful sunny fall morning in your mansion, early morning clissold playing in the background, a joint of some kush rolled up on the night stand and the smell of brewed coffee and bacon is in the air...
he is 100% influenced by Hiroshi Yoshimura. RDJ's piano pieces and many ambient pieces have taken quite some inspiration from 'Wet Land' (soooooo fcking good!! second track is AMAZING, on par with afx levels)), Soundscape 1 album for more SAW vibes
I can imagine this being used in a background scene from a cyberpunk movie or show where the main character is walking through garbage heaps and you see a decrepit future city in the distance with its neon glow.
Yeah, at one point I considered drafting up a Cyberpunk 2077 video to this song. V walking through vignettes of Night City and some scenes with Jackie and others. Followed by a break where V gets up from the food truck with Jackie, and refuses the job. Returns to his apartment, and places the gun down. Like an emotional and refusal of a violent life to spend more time with friends. A reminder that there always options, and always good people. A wonderful and favourite track for sure!
I can see this music triggering strong emotional memories when I have dementia in the future
Let's hope the carers know what music to play!
What if by the time youre old there had already been a digital armageddon and all data including audio recordings are striped away forever
@@rotmgdabeatz That’s the reason I rip all the good stuff to CD, but now I’m thinking by the time I’m old I won’t be able to afford electricity :(

New alarm clock. Getting up made slightly easier...
You should try "Z Twig" too. Since then I don't want to shoot myself in the head every morning.

Really is the modern day equivalent of mozart
it is a masterpiece
A lot of people make that comparison but is there any deeper music theory explanation for why that is?

If i die, they can play this when i go to pet heavin and pick up my cat.

Thank you for sharing this and keeping Richard D. James' music alive and kicking.
this is the kind of music that would be played in heaven, as I can imagine
There's no heaven. But there's Richard.

This whole album/collection triggers something inside of me, a sort of qualia words could never come close to explaining.
Did DMT for the first time to this track...out of world ;)
Could you even hear it 😂
