Great video! Whenever i try to use these guns i get "hit" and no damage :( its so annoying. Even when i get crit, it does nothing and sparks all day

There is some misinformation in your Video Jengar. I dont know when you flew the xp50 out the last time but it outturns the La5 maybe time to revisit the thing ? It got changed a while ago cant remember when it happend. Greetings :)

You lose the wep at over 4500m now, plus with the improved guns. I tried it again in arcade for a quick battle and I got 19 kills. I never killed that many in a single round before. Ever. lol. Cheers for the vid my man.

If the meta in this game weren't all about climbing and nothing else, the LA5 series ought to be way higher up in BR.
Such a good fighter up until 4000m.

With the recent buff to the ShVaks, the La-5F and the La-5FN are absolute monsters at mid-altitude now.

Amongst La line, 5 Fn is the best choice by far imo.. both for air and ground battles.
Still prefer Yaks over La, for they seem to be like a steel spring always ready to jump while in La.. you need first to stretch that spring to make it work 🙂

@@timothylu1349 Sorry Timothy, I'm not the one to ask. Jengar has a long video history so maybe look back at video topics that help you. For me Jengars commentary while he is playing has as much value for his playing technique and decision making, especially if the plane in review is to high in BR for me. So maybe re watch this vid a few times with that in mind? Don't forget to distribute crew experience in a way that suits your playing.

I don't know why, but for some reason when I played it first time (La-5F was first Lavochkin I played) even tho I'm rather decent prop pilot this plane was a bit... Awkward to fly. But later I learned how to use it and bang - La-7 and La-7B-20 are my favourite soviet props right now :P

When will u introduce la 11. I don t see it very often but I know it s quite capable even against early jets
@@luismariocarbone2723 Is the 11 better than the 9? They seem so identical
La11 is the last propelled airplane produced by the URSS it has a better engine and has no difficult keeping the game against the p 51 in fact of speed.
Of course the propblem with hight altitudine has been almost removed but at 5000m hight it has no problem, the great firepower would have made most of the enemy bombers but also any fighter fear it. Unlucky when it start to be produced, the event of jet proppelled aircraft took over it and abandoned any other production of the plane. It never took part to any conflict since the ww2 was already over but would mostly be the counteroapart of p 51.

How should i aim compared to the 50 cals? I love 50 cals but i have trouble with these 20mm. I usually let them fly into my guns but i just get "hit" and no kills or damage :(
You need to lead a bit more then 50 cals.
If I'm correct the extra armor protection is a modification you have to unlock. I personally have it not enabled, as I'd rather get the extra perfomance from being lighter. I'f the armored glass has to save my pilot I'm probably in a position where I'm going to die anyway

Do you know (or feel) the difference between the La-5/F/FN?
3.0 la5 is razorback and has the shetsov ash82, la5f has a shetsov ash82f, better aerodynamics and a better cockpit it is also lighter than la5, la5fn has the shetsov ash82fn, is lighter and has a different intake from la5f
@@clumsy7333 So every one has a different engine (I guess FN>F>Normal, and better aerodinamics then the later? (So better as energy fighter like the La are?))
@ the la5f is a straight up upgrade from la5, same case with la5fn (imo la5f is the best la5 tier for tier)

I just started using this plane as I work on my Russian tree and I dropped a 4k first game with it. Was blown away at this bird.
its a great plane indeed.
There should be a difference in the engine. 5F comes from M-82F, the engine, which has added a supercharger.
okay, they do have that designation ingame, but the power of the engine is the same on the statcard (maybe not reliable), and i dont see the supercharger.
@@jengar6258if I recall correctly, the engine cowling on the 5 and 5F are similar, really changing with the 5FN and 7. It should be cranking out an extra 300hp though...

Great video! Make me want to play Russian planes again. Just a quick question: what does redlining means?
Every plane has a redline, this is where you're speedindicator turns red, indicating that you're approaching the danger zone of ripping.

I am trying to make the La-5FN work right now. I put it on my top ten list of things i hate the most in life. I guess I'm doing something wrong because i think it's total crap.
The FN is even better then the F ;) i'll make sure to review it!
@@jengar6258 I think it has to do with the slats. I was wondering how you energy fight so well with it, it seems like you are careful with prolonged turns because the slats are burning a lot of energy?
