This is the first kit I’ve ever heard that manages to make a hihat and snare sound natural and not at all electronic. I have been keeping a very long distance from ever investing any serious cash into an ekit because of this. I’m finally convinced. This sounds ridiculously good.
Totally agree!
AGREED!
I got one about a month ago. I was also very distant to edrums but let me tell you this thing is so much fun. I got the 5x tho with another tom and crash cymbal. I use it daily and i cant get enough of it 😂👌
I absolutely HATE electronic drums....BUT - this thing had me grinning like a kid on Christmas when I played it. It reacts EXACTLY like an acoustic kit. Again, I'm super uber ridiculously picky. I'll get up from $3k kits immediately if they don't impress me. This thing blew my mind. Efnote or bust.
The toms still sound electronic.
This is without doubt one of the best sounding/looking electronic drum kits on the market. Always helps having Mr Schumacher demonstrate it too!
;-D thank you very much Steve!
He is amazing
absolutely!
I bought it, I can say that I can't be happier. Feels like an acoustic one.
@@maurobilotti That's awesome
Was on the verge of giving up drumming altogether because of severe tinnitus. I needed an ekit good enough for gigging but none were up to the job until I came across this.
Its the nearest thing to a real acoustic kit I've ever heard so l bought one. Absolutely love it. Beautiful to look at, easy to transport and sounds great. Most people don't realize it's not acoustic. Hopefully I can get a few more years drumming out of it. And if it's too loud I just turn it down! Lovely jubbly! By the way, protect your hearing before it's too late!
Hey Michael, that's great to hear, enjoy the kit & happy drumming!
I feel you pain with the Tinnitus mate years of mixing bands in the quest of a perfect sound. I still wouldn't change a thing though live music is a religion.
Finally they get it. An electronic drum kit that sounds like real drums. Who would have thought drummers would have ever wanted that?
I am amazed by the sound engineering in this drum module.
This kit is the best looking Edrum kit i have ever seen.
The matte grey cymbals even make me wish for other color cymbals like matte ocean blue or matte purple.
Just stunning.
Not a duff kit or sample among them.
Has to be the best I've yet heard and NO ONE better to demo them than Ralf.
Thank you so much for your kind feedback!
DAMN !
We've gone a loooong way ! That sounds amazing.
buying this kit within the month here. Thanks for the videos on it.
... all we can see that you like playing this kit... very natural sound and complete palette of colours sounding kit, for every music genre... i'm in love with this kit and ef-note 3 that is very good too.
The real test is always when Ralf does the punk and metal styles and you can hear the triggering in tight succession. I don't know what that little EFNote module is doing... but its definitely passing my sniff test.
Thank you so much Arik :)
The EFNOTE sound's so naturaly....i LOVE MY 3X ❤
Wow. As a 13 year Roland TD-12kv Vdrum owner, I thought they had the market cornered on edrums. None of the other brands came close. This demo has definitely changed my perspective on things. My issue with my Roland has always been the hi-hat and ride absolutely sucks due to lack of dynamics and realism. But this kit sounds amazing with all the dynamics and articulation of real cymbals that I’m missing on my Roland. What I need though, is a product I can gig with and the Roland has (touch wood) been an absolute gem playing out.
I think it may be time for a trade in.
Definitely one of the best sounding EKits I’ve heard.
This is probably the most realistic sounding Electronic Kits I’ve ever heard!, 👍🏾

@@drumtecTV I watched your video and definitely had to sub, but one question for you, in terms of drum dynamics, what do you prefer, a Acoustic drums or Electronic?.
I also play drums myself, but I play drums on a DrumMachine, Keyboard, iPad and the Electronic Kits, as well as the Acoustic Kit, but for some reason I prefer using the iPad, here is me playing drums live on my iPad for a demonstration: ua-cam.com/video/YeV4Geyc6Kw/v-deo.html

I agree. I have a lot of recording experience and have gone down the rabbit hole with drum brains and kits. I am blown away by this company. They just need a little more round robin and it will be the industry standard.
I've got the EFnote 5 kit, bought an extra floor tom and 18inch as a crash. It's a fantastic kit and can recommend it highly.
Is it like a regular ekit when the power is off the volume is super low?
Like someone can play in an apartment?
@dennisdorsey5749 With no amplification there's no real drum sound of any significance. I would see no problem in an apartment. I have a mixer and headphones work well pairing in with music.
@@chrisguice7632 Thanks. I have my own studio and noise isn’t an issue but I was curious on the sound.
That's great you have a studio, I have a Ludwig kit which I rarely use at home due to being conscious of my neighbours (which are great people). I have to say the EF kit is a very good substitute and eliminates any potential issues.
@@chrisguice7632 I have a Roland V stage ekit but it’s older and not working like it used to to. That’s why I built a drum studio.
Efnote finally achieves a natural sounding edrums.
The only con,no compression but real drums do not have a compression dial so all good, they are going for a natural tone which I really love.
It does indeed sound pretty damn good 😲
Best sounding ekit I've heard
Kit sounds great, so many times the acoustic kits all sound the same these have the real sound of each type of kit Cymbals sound great too
n. 1 ON MARKET, marvellous kit also like ef-note 3, best sounding kit, good look, marvellous drumming !!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you very much! :)
Yesterday I ordered an efnote 5 module from drumtec, so excited =)
Yay, happy drumming David!
And any review?
fell in love with this kit
I’m not really a big fan of electronic drums, but these ones sound great. I’d gladly take the natural sounds and only having a few options to choose from, as opposed to what the competitors have in most of their drum kits.
Mamma mia sentirti suonare è un piacere la fai parlare......sei veramente un professionista che fa sentire veramente tutte le sfaccettature dello strumento....tu fai suonare anche un bidone da colore Bravo Bravo Bravo.
Mille Gracie! :)
perfect sound
Excellent job again, Ralf!
Thank you very much! :)
4, 11, 17 are all I’d use. Would use samples if that becomes available. In fact it’s a must for many working cats. Love the stage box w/remote module concept. All those XLR outs are a great feature.- listen up Pearl. Hardware seems top notch. Still need open architecture type features. Big wait on efnote I’m afraid.
I'm nowhere near this good at drumming. This guy is polished
I rate this kit 5 stars!
😀😀😀😀😀😀😀😀!

I got this drum only for the funq kit🤟🏻🥰🥰🥰🥰…but now I am in love with all them🤣
That Funq kit is great!! Happy drumming & enjoy your new kit :) kind regards!

Damn good drummer.
This dude is a great player as well.
Can't wait for ATV and EF Note to release true flagship modules. Unless Pearl releases a Mimic 2 my bet is one of these companies will dethrone it as best module.
Great demo! Do the tom and kick pads also work with a td27/50x module?

Masterful drumming as always !!!
Thank you very much! :)
Really good kit! 👍
Ok...how in the heck did they engineer this to sound so great?
sounds and looks like it plays amazingly. my only gripe is that i think the whole kit sounds very mellow, and i dont feel it would work that well in a rock setting, but otherwise is amazing, the snare on that Funq kit especially.
Hey Geff, absolutely. For hard rock/metal music the kit sounds would need further editing/mixing. Kind regards!
Höre zum ersten mal von der Marke und bin echt von dem Sound begeistert. Das brauch sich nicht hinter dem TD 30 nicht verstecken.
I just watched a review for Roland's new 507s...Roland on board sounds still sound like they are from an R8 in 1992. these sound awesome. I've had a couple roland kits in the past, td 6 and td 15. Could really only find a couple usuable snares and kicks. I'm 5 minutes in and have already heard more useable and contemporary sounds...I live in Canada, where can i get these.

Klasse gespielt und sehr schönes Set! Planst du auch ein oder zwei Videos zum Efnote 3? 😁
Hi Tobias, dankeschön! Na klar, das kommt als nächstes... :)
Cool, dann bin ich ja mal gespannt! 😁
Hi Ralf. I can tell the First Note kit's sounds inspired you. You were jamming on that kit! Are the names, sizes, and brands of each drum and cymbal listed on the 17 stock kits? For example, for the first note kit, can you see what brand, size, and wood type the bass drum, toms, and snare are?
Thanks,
Brett
Hey Brett, thank you! You are right, the kit feels/plays very nice. As far as I remember, you can see/change & edit every single instrument of the kits. But I haven't had time to go into depth with the module until now unfortunately. Kind regards!
Wow, nice kits Ralph!

Sounds great (as always), Ralf! Really intrigued by the EFNote kits. Any plans to demo the recently released EFNote 7 series soon? Hope so - would love to see/hear it in action! Be well and thanks for your great videos :)
Thank you Tommy, that's great to hear! Yes I hope to be doing a demo asap. Waiting for the German distributor to get a kit over unfortunately may take some time though :) kind regards!
Wait, is that series out?
@@alexyoung5798 Hi Alex, the EFNOTE 7 was already released, but it's not yet available. Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV to your knowledge, are the pads/cymbals an upgrade from the 5X so if you were to own the 5X then you’d have to upgrade all or is it just the module?
Great demo!
Thank you Mike! :)
You’re playing is crushing.
@@MikeSnyderDrums :-D
Cymbals actually sound pretty natural here. Realistic overtones and ring out. Roland’s cymbals don’t sound this good...yet. Competition is a good thing.
Wonder why they didn’t go with copper-ish natural metal color on these cymbals…seems possible.
Really in love with this kit looks amazing and great sounds but I just don’t understand why they decided to put the jack socket output on the front of the toms?
😮
It's usually for the drummer, I believe it can rotated if you want
Amazing kit and playing!! How do you compare it to ATV? They seem to be kind of the same thing. Is it compatible with other brands?
Thank you Lucas! As far as I know, all EFNOTE pads should be compatible with Roland/ATV modules, only the hihat controller is special & has a different connector. The kit feels/plays great actually :)
Amazing demo from an amazing drummer, thanks a lot Ralf!!!! The best demos out there! By the way, have you guys tested another hardware/pads from roland or drumtec with EF Note module? Hihat might be tricky, how about roland snare, toms, kick and cymbals?
Another thing, are the toms inputs stereo or mono like on aD5?
Thanks a lot once again, you guys are the best globaly
Thank you very much! :) We will hopefully be demoing third party compatibility setups in the near future. Generally speaking, drum-tec/ATV/Roland pads should be compatible, the EFNOTE hihat controller has a special/unique connection though.
The tom inputs are indeed dual zone on the module, you'll find that shown during the first minutes of the "Unboxing & Playing" demo we had uploaded earlier:
ua-cam.com/video/AnklN8diL3w/v-deo.html
Kind regards!
@@drumtecTV thanks a lot for deeper explanation and will duly check the other demo! Efnote seems to have some good options that aD5 doenst, expecially the tunning, reverb and others.... good to know about tom's estereo input for pads expasion :) Thanks again
That sounds nice! Does the module have Multichannel Audio outputs? How do the functions compare to ATV AD5?
Great job on presenting Ralf, thank you!
Thank you very much! You can find more info on the kit/module over here:
www.drum-tec.com/efnote-5-e-drum-kit
Kind regards!
Sound way better then Roland
Are you guys gonna sell these modules separately, and can you use a Roland type hi hat on it?
I guess we will, the hihat is the biggest question right know, as the EFNOTE hihat controller uses a different sensor & connection than Roland/ATV. But maybe there will be a workaround/adaptor in the future. Kind regards!
Has the sound been altered or mixed for this video? Or does this set sound that good?
Of course your playing makes it sound awesome.
My decision of getting one is leaning more towards the Ef7 .. bigger bass drum ( more natural to playing acoustic set)
Thank you Gene! All demos are recorded directly from the sound module stereo output without any further mixing/processing, only a bit of compression/limiter to bring up levels. Kind regards!
Ciao sei bravissimo.
Vorrei sapere in casa si riuscirebbe a usarla o il rumore è molto forte.
È buona la sensibilità del hh?
Mi sembra che come suoni reali sia straordinaria confermi?
Un saluto
Could you try those cymbals with the xd3 module?
We will hopefully be doing cross compatibility demos with other manufacturers in the near future! Kind regards
Awesome demo! Gonna be ordering an efnote soon! Mind if I ask which bass pedal you’re using here?
Thank you very much! I was using this pedal over here:

Is it me or is it machine gunning with ghost notes? Lol. I will admit it sounds solid with backbeats but then with intricate notes it sounds off. I don’t know...it LOOKS amazing though!
It's definitely not Mimic quality samples, still in the Roland territory. I think it sounds good still.

Hey John, that's hard to tell, I haven't yet had the chance to check out the new Roland digital hihat :) the EFNOTE feels & triggers/plays really nice in any case. Kind regards!

How does it work to record the audio of the efnote ? Is it with the usb cable ? Anyone has any tips how to do or any tutorial pls :D, thanks !
is this leaps better than Roland TD-30?
Sounds a lot like the latest Roland engine. Really gorgeous looking, though. Love that tiny splash!
It sounds natural... the complete opposite to Roland engines
If the sound is off, is this as loud as an acoustic kit? The attraction to me of an E kit is the fact that my neighbors won't hear anything?
Hey Steven, any electronic drum kit wish mesh heads & rubber cymbals will be significantly more silent than any acoustic kit. Kind regards!
It’s louder than your typical flat-faced pads but it’s not that much louder. If someone’s sleeping in the next room I wouldn’t play it.
It’s quieter than the TD50X
Any special reason for all the back beats are played whit rim shots? Listen to the masters!!!
All effects sound perfect, to me efnote 5 sounds a bit more natural than 5x
As far as I know, both modules should be exactly the same in terms of the onboard sounds/kits actually? Kind regards!

I have a Jobeky kit coupled with a Roland TD-50, I can't stand the samples/sounds and the triggers for the snare, hi-hat and ride are terrible (Jobeky products not the Roland digital products). I'm considering upgrading to the Roland digital hi-hat, snare and ride (which means upgrading my TD-50 with the "X" update). All this to still have to trigger Superior drummer, etc. for good drum samples. I think Roland wins when it comes to playability (responsiveness) but the actual drum tones are terrible (in my opinion). How is the playability of this EFNote kit compared to the Roland TD-50 playability? I love the drum tone but have no idea on the "feel" factor. Everything is so expensive and questionable, also frustrating that there is no possible way to take these kits on a test drive prior to dropping thousand of dollars.
