It's so weird/interesting... when you were speaking in Gàidhlig, I understood a good chunk of it even though my Gàidhlig is very limited... but because my Irish (Gaeilge) is much, much better (been learning for like 8 years), I was actually able to understand a lot of what you said lol.
I am also learning Japanese. 🙂
I'm excited for when I get advanced enough in Gàidhlig to get some mutual intelligibility with Gaeilge! How long have you been learning Japanese?
@CarlsLingoKingdom Very new to Japanese. Started learning in September 2022. 😊 Right now it's my main focus.
Love watching the vids 😁 kinda sad that how Welsh is going to be on the back burner. I've been learning it and it's really fun.
Yeah, I look forward to when I can add it back into the mix with more regularity!
Wow, I wish I could go abroad for work. That sounds great.
I'm hopeful!
Best of luck with with all of your goals. It's still so weird that you are learning the same languages that I am. My goals are C2 in everything before I die btw., haven't got anything in mind in particuar for 2023.
Diolch! What are your levels right now?

I'm a bit late.
I am at around upper A2 level in spanish. I'm just trying to learn vocabulary slowly and to learn more verbs and conjugations to finally to be able to push to B1. I am doing an A1 course, but it provides both practice of the spoken language with new friends from my community and some sweet vocab I'd never learned.
I'm going through A1 by myself in korean. I did some conjugation at the present tense today.
I've started learning some of the hiraganas on Duolingo for fun, so I might have to add japanese to the list someday. I also sort of like learning kanji (for now, anyway).
Scottish gaelic is a language that I've always wanted to learn (hopefully so I can practice it when I eventually travel to Scotland), but it's harder to find content or exercice books compared to the other languages and I don't really like the Duolingo approach for the language. Anyway, thanks to your videos, I definitely have more of a starting point to look for ways to learn
You bet! I've got videos talking about how I'm learning Gàidhlig, so if you decide to pick it up, I recommend that video and its resources.
As for Spanish and Korean, have you looked into StoryLearning yet? That's how I'm learning Japanese and it's awesome!

So proud of you, Carl; I am astounded at how much you can do. I'm also sorry I dropped the ball about the proposed correspondence yn Gymraeg. I have nowhere near your responsibilities but I got busy, too, and have barely been able to maintain and progress at a malwod's pace with my one new language goal 🤭. I've decided I'm going to get that children's book too, though, so hopefully I can read and understand it by the time you do! I don't get to watch all your vids. Have you done a video with your son, or would you consider it? Would love if you read to him and to us at the same time 🥰🥰🥰
Diolch! Keep up the learning. We all grow slowly. I likely won't do a video showing him, but I might make a video of me reading the book. 😉
BTW you can get that book (and all the others I recommend) here: a.co/h5yULUp 🐉
@@CarlsLingoKingdom completely understand you wouldn't want to put him on camera, but you could consider doing a video where we hear his voice at some point if he says something cute in gàidhlig :)
I don't know how you can do Gaelic, Welsh, and Japanese ALL AT THE SAME TIME! That would break my brain, man. I'm having enough trouble just with Gaelic by itself. Gaelic and Welsh, I can see, since they belong to the same language family, but then to add Japanese to the mix, which takes a completely different approach to language, would be more than I could handle. Right now, my language goals are just to get as far as I can with the Scottish Gaelic course on Duolingo.
As we discussed in person...keep it up! :D
Halo Carls
I am just getting back into learning Gaelic. i had to stop for a while due to things. I have not been doing it long, but i want to learn it.
i did get Jasons course the other week. What do you think is best to start Duolingo or Jasons course.
Glè mhath! Dive in with both.
bahahaha the Finnish flags really made me laugh!
I'm glad someone liked it! XD
Is your wife learning these languages as well? I imagine people speaking to a child would improve their language skills.
She's learning Japanese, but not the Celtic languages.
