The Defender Pro is like the Cadillac of Otterbox cases. It gives you 4X Military standard drop protection. Plus you get the added bonus of getting a belt clip that is also a phone stand.
Otterbox is known for their high quality cases and they never disappoint me. I'm a huge fan of black cases but they also make this in some other colorful choices if your heart desires.

Is it good
I just got mine for Walmart I love it is very protective. Comes with a holster and it’s very slim slips in and out of pocket easily. I love it.
Does that high gloss frame around the lenses create lens flare from reflected light entering the camera lenses. I would prefer a matte flat non-reflective finish near the lenses.
Shoot you not I just dropped my iPhone 13 wearing this case that I bought from a mall. THE THING IS I live 8 stories up. Just chillen on my balcony and I fumbled my phone and it bounced off the ground through the RAILINGS! I was listening to some Lincoln park and I could just hear it fading away as it fell then the big SMACK on the concrete sidewalk below. Sucks no one was below to get hit… jk lol. So I was like 👁👄👁. Anyway my wife and I run to the elevator walk around the building below to where it fell. The case was by itself its layers spread apart and my iPhone was laying upside down in grass NO cracks on the back. I flipped it over and no FREAKING CRACKS AT ALL! Thank god. This case for me 11/10. I don’t care at all what y’all say about the holster lmao it just saved my stupid self from lots of money lost. And the best part the only damage is a little knicks in the metal surrounding of phone and the case survived too! Just a bigger Knick on that.
I have the Apple MagSafe puck and I can not get it to work through the case. Video shows it working but nothing happens for me.
I got this case today for my iPhone 13 and the magsafe wireless charger but I can't get the right position to make work. I see that you can do it so easily, what's the trick?

I been using this case for 2 years and it is great. I dropped my phone off ladders, roofs, and many other things and it is still in new condition. I do put a screen protector on, it has peeled up a little over the years, but I don't care, I am not on my phone 24/7, it's for business. I am not a phone junkie, so it don't bother me

Just wish they did something about the back of it when I have a pop socket on mine, the silicone part will lift when I hold it by the pop socket. Anyone recommend this?
I tried to force my phone into the case because I did not know any better. I did not realise could you peel off the soft part and then actually could open de case.

I had it for my 11 pro max and I had to get it for my 13pro max and for some reason it was not clipping tight so I went and got it change for the same one and still have the same problem

This case is great, I’ve only ever used otterboxs for my phones. I picked this case out because for one, the whole outside of this case is rubber, which provides a good amount of grip all around, the anti-microbial properties, the holster and of course, the otterbox reputation for drop and all around protection.
My biggest complaint about this case, is that the rubber case cover overtime, stretches out. Currently my top right corner doesn’t fit snuggly over the plastic case itself on the front or on the back around the camera cutout, and when I grab my phone from the sides, you can see the rubber on the back sticking up, like an air bubble is trapped underneath. It’s only truly a matter of time before the rubber stretches out enough that it doesn’t stay on the plastic parts at all. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a fantastic case, but I do not see the rubber cover lasting long if you put it in a clamp holder for your car, or you put it in your pocket a lot. I would honestly opt for the Defender XT, or the Commuter series because the rubber made for those cases is a little bit.. better formed and made stronger per se, so it is less likely to stretch out like the Defender Pro.

Can you suggest which screen protector goes with this, because i seen one video in which the user says the Otterbox screen protectors Alpha lifts once the defender case in put on the phone.

@5:46 - You would think that Otterbox may just use an opening the size of the speaker, but no... They look like they are using the cutouts for an iphone 12. The 13 Pro Max has the same size speakers on both sides and they are fabulous this year. Blocking a speaker grill is a lack of attention to detail that prevents me from spending money on this case. I 3D printed a case in TPU that is tough as nails and I can print a new one any time.
I know this comment is old. But the left “speakers” are not speakers. They’re mics….

How much did you got the case
MagSafe is hit or miss. The first day, it recognized the MagSafe puck when I placed my iPhone 13 pro on it. The next day, I had to move the phone a little around to find the sweet spot. The 3rd day, nope, didn’t recognize/connect to the MagSafe until I took the rubber outer case off. Defeats the purpose of just laying the phone down on the puck if you have to take the outer rubber part off.
I did notice that if I took the outer case off, set the iPhone on the MagSafe puck, then pulled the puck off, & then put the outer case back on, it did recognize the MagSafe puck. Again, defeats the convenience of having the MagSafe for charging.
The next complaint I have is the lack of a screen protector included. I kept my iPhone 6s in an otter box defender for the time I had that phone, & was glad to have that screen protection. The screen protection for the 13 pro is a separate piece that is very prone to misalignment & air bubbles, so I’m just going to go without. Otherwise, it is a solid case that won’t squirt out of your hand because it’s too slippery.

why is nobody talking about the size of the case it dose not surround the phone the same as the older ones i got this case for protection and its super slimmed down compared to older versions of the same type case like even with the camera they couldnt raise the rige higer to protect the camera, the hard plastic that cases it in is to thin not at all beefy like the 10xr defender case

The XT us magsafe compatible and is thinner overall to accommodate for magsafe. Less grip as well.
Anyone try to put a popsocket on this case?
I like to use magnets on the back of my phone cases, but I’m wondering if it would be better to put the on the back of the hard plastic protector or on the inside of the rubber part that protects the hard plastic. Because I know if I put them on the outside of the rubber it won’t stick to it 🤔🤷🏻♂️

These cases used to be good until they raised the ends only and lowered the sides. I get the Walmart version and it’s like the old school otter box oh yeah @nd it’s only $19.95 and I have dropped infomercial 5 1/2 feet with no issues… otter box wake-up…..

What’s the difference between this and the regular defender
It has an antimicrobial treatment and the ridges on the back, as well as supposedly being Qi charging compatible.
I have learned I dont like cases that have plastic next to the phone because it scuffs the phone. Ruined the paint on one phone I had. I now use cases with rubber against the phone. UAG has been a good one.
That's my main worry, scuffing the sides while switching cases. I definitely need to buy a skin for the sides lol.
I know what you mean I seen micro scratches on my phone from defender case.. some debris gets inside. But you really have to be looking for it (scratches) but overall, it’s not a chip and there’s no dents.. At the end of the day it’s just a phone.

I have used otter box pro for every phone when they started this pro shit only problem is that dust, sand, and dirt all get inside by the power and volume I think from around the camera but everytime I take my iPhone 12 out there’s sand and dust
Now I use the apple leather case with a turtle back holster NO DUST OR SAND INSIDE **so far 3 weeks***

I’ve been a Otterbox fan since I’ve got my first phone, but now I’m hearing from people that if you put a screen protector on it,it’s too tight and eventually the screen protector will crack! Any information on this would be helpful, thank You!
The otterbox defender does not meet the screen protector at all (as you can see in the video). It’ll be alright.

Yes if you have the pro models with the stainless steel it will scratch and if you drop it on hard uneven surfaces the plastic frame on the inside will crack where it snaps together on the corners. I used otter boxes in the past and the newer ones coming out seem more flimsy then previous versions but overall it’s a good case with protection but I wouldn’t be to careless with it

I bought this and used it for like 4 months and i notice that after some time, the rubber exterior part starts to stretch at the camera lenses area and it’ll get loose. So its not gonna be tight solid but abit wobbly.. 🙏🏼

I like the look and feel of otterbox cases. However I find that they don’t last as long as other cases. The rubber material stretches and falls apart. I have had this problem with any of my otterboxes I have own for tablets or phones.

I’ve been using Otterboxes since the iPhone 5s days. They have slimed them out over the years, and they are pretty expensive. I got mine on rollback at Walmart for like $44, in the basic black. I’ve been dailying it and it’s pretty nice. Do wish it was MagSafe, but you can’t have everything
What’s really great, tho, is that they basically give you “free” replacements for the life of the phone. I always buy a new case for a new phone at full price. But then, every year after that, I pay $10 shipping and they send me a new case (I drop my phone ALOT, and my cases get worn out!) I’m on my fourth Defender Pro for my iPhone 8+!

What camera lens protector do you use can you direct me to a good one I can find possibly on amazing….
I don't use a specific lens protector for my camera. I just rely on the case protection
Yes it can support pretty much any camera protector, I used to use one, but now, I would honestly not recommend using one since the quality of photos lost is simply not worth the minimal scratch and drop protection. I used to think I need it since I am really rough on phones and drop them everywhere, but it really doesn’t protect your phone as much as it seems to. You might think adding a thick piece of plastic to the back of the camera will help but really not much is gonna change except the camera quality will for sure get worse
The one thing I will recommend is getting a dbrand skin for your camera because it doesn’t cover the lenses, therefore does not affect camera quality and it also protects the glass of your camera bump/module from getting smudged and any micro scratches
I had this one for my 13 mini, which i later upgraded to a 13 pro max. it creaked and it was annoying to install and remove frequently, its protective but felt cheap the way it flexed and creaked. I got a commuter for my 13 pro max,it feels more protective and way less cheap and tacky. I much prefer the commuter.

Well I wasn’t good! I just got my new Otterbox case this morning and as soon as I put it on my screen protector started coming off! Otterbox is just junk anymore.

I have a regular defender but I like the look of the pro more. Otterbox defenders are great for drop protection but I wish it did more in the way of dust proof.
I dislike built in screen protectors because dust gets underneath them and over time you can hardly see your screen.
I just wish defenders came with better sealed port protection and mesh over the speaker grills. I use mine basically just for drop protection knowing my phone is going to have cosmetic damage on the inside, doesn’t bother me too much it’s just a phone.
I used to use a life proof case until I had issues with the built in screen protector like you said, not only did it make it so you can hardly see your screen but it got to the point where I had to take my case off when ever I got a call because the protector blocked the speaker to the point that I could hardly hear anyone

How grippy is it on flat surfaces? I'm coming from a 1st gen SE with a Cygnett Workmate and the killer feature for me is the little rubber feet on the back that means my phone doesn't slide about on the table when pushed. Great for resting your phone on your leg knowing it isn't going anywhere. The rubber on my old case is super soft and grippy but this one looks quite firm. Does this case perform the same way?

I have this case for my iPhone 13 and while I think it’s extremely protective, I’m a little concerned it could trap heat. Will the defender pro potentially prevent the iPhone 13 from dissipating heat properly? I have found mixed opinions on this issue.
No they don’t trap heat
I know it’s a very late reply but honestly in my experience the otterbox defender actually dealt with heat the best. All other phone cases had issues with heat but never otterbox defender.

I have this case and I can’t take it off like it’s almost impossible, is there a trick to taking it off?
Pop the area open where you charge your phone at and slowly take it off by starting there. Just be careful with it.

At this point you’re starting to get annoying with the same questions over and over . He clearly already answered to all of your questions that it does protect the cameras.
You didn't talk about the fact that the Holster sucks. no matter how I put my iphone in it, it falls off all the time. Getting out of the car falls off. Walking it falls off. I found it less likely to falls if the screen out, but it still falls off. Otterbox has yet to fix this and if I need a new case I will look for something better, I am ashamed of Otterbox for not fixing this issue.
