Thanks so much for this video! I have the Pro XT case and boy, is it tricky to put the plastic piece back in. I had to take it off today to get a SIM card in. Would have NEVER got it back on without your video tutorial!!

Your Video is awesome!!! I have had OtterBox cases on my previous iPhones for many years with great success. I recently bought the Defender XT online at Amazon for the 5X as many drops feature, and I did not realize this OtterBox case separates much differently than my previous OtterBox cases.
To my SURPRISE, the first video I watched (from a different UA-camr) to install an OtterBox case on an iPhone 13 Pro Max did NOT have the MagSafe disc on the inside of the case. I didn't realize OtterBox had more than 1 Defender Series case. I am familiar with the 3-pc case, and that is what I thought I bought.
No instructions were shipped with new unopened box.
Sure GLAD I watched your video because I would have destroyed my new case. This new style OtterBox case is a 2-pc design and it wasn't intuitively obvious how to separate the case.
I will send your video link back to myself for future reference for when I remove and then reinstall this case, for example, access to my SIM.
By the way, this OtterBox case fits well with my JETech tempered glass screen protector and plastic camera lens protector.

Before you buy the OtterBox commuter case this is my second replacement because the rubber that will keep lifting up after a few months the company makes you pay for shipping and handling this to make more money off the customer so before you get one of these cases you're going to have to spend anywhere between five to six dollars every other month
Hi, have you been using any of these otterbox cases as your daily driver ? If so can you comment how well the case is holding up and if the back of the phone gets any scratches from being in the case .

Live the video. Great job describing the different cases. I’d like to add the cushioning on the back of the cases may make it tricky to use the iPhone’s back tap feature. Not a deal breaker but something to be aware of.

I'm just trying to buy the cheapest Defender, but I can't find the original Defender on ebay. There's the Defender Pro and the Defender XT only. Not really feeling the lines of the Pro, and definitely don't want it to be anywhere close to slippery with the XT.
Has anyone else had any issues with the Apple magsafe white charging puck not always working? I know the case is supposed to be mag safe compatible but my charging puck don't always hook up to start charging
I love your reviews. I don’t like the Pro XT is because it doesn’t have the protection cover for the mute switch. I don’t use MagSafe so I normally always use the original defender case……
So what's the difference between the Defender XT, and the Defender XT Pro ? By the way, the Otterbox website says the Defender XT Pro IS Magsafe compatible. It also says the non Pro XT is Magsafe.

Hi! I know this is an old video but I am getting an iPhone 13 pro. I love otterbox cases but I cant find the xt case where I live (Argentina) I wanted to ask if magsafe still worked with the other otterbox cases or not if you had tested it. I just want to be sure I will be able to charge my phone with it on or if I needed the pro XT
unless u want the magsafe, id consider the regular defender. its alot easier to put on

But does the original defender case offer more protection than the new defender xt case? The original defender case had a 2 piece hard shell with a soft mat inside and a rubber outer case protection. The new defender case just looks like a rubber case with a hard top to protect your screen 😑 the original looks like it offers more protection being its 3 piece and not 2 piece.

I've had it since April 2022 and my phone is intact. I just ordered a new one with the lifetime warranty because the rubber edges have been breaking. excellent protection!!

I’ve got the LK series lens protector for my iPhone 13 PM along with the Otterbox. It doesn’t impede the camera lens at all even though it adds another layer.

doesnt matter which case , jsut get a camera lens protector and glass screen protector and ur set for those 2 things ur concerned about. i made a video on what i use from a brand called unique me i got off amazon

I went with the xt , it’s great . I did add a back skin to the case and the phone for extra scratch protection… Did you end up using the xt as ur daily ?
XT is nice casue it has magsfe built in. i stuck with my commuter case as it didnt feel as "wide" feeling as the defender line up.

Older versions came with a screen protector they need to revert back to that
Those screen protectors really messed with the functionality of the touch screen. Glass screen protectors are far more protective anyhow.
Once the screens became so large they could no longer get the plastic screen protectors to lay flat. That had a video a few years ago about it.
Yeah the plastic protecters would expose a lot of dirt but you might have barley slight scratches

The only thing I hate about OtterBox cases is that they no longer show you the Apple logo
Ehhhh I thought those were tacky actually. Unless you're pretentious (no offense), it's really unnecessary to show the Apple logo. And you can tell easily when a phone had been in a defender case cuz there's a darker ring around the logo because it's been exposed when the other parts were covered up. So I'm glad these got rid of it personally.

What happen to the otter box second platic window to protect ur phones screen. I remember years back then it had a extra screen plastic protector
Otterbox got rid of the plastic screen protector on their iphone cases when the iphone x came out on top of the plastic was prone to scratching easily and separating from the plastic frame so it made sense to them to do away with the plastic screen protector
Otterbox said that the Defender series cases work with wireless charging and they don't.
Ive been seeing people saying this a lot I’ve never had an issue using a wireless charger

Lol tell that to my friend who dropped his at an angle and smashed his screen a couple of months back. It was for his XS, so getting an OLED screen and fixing one other thing cost him almost $200. I actually got him a tempered glass screen protector, but he took it off and it cost him 200 bucks less than 2 years later. The phone never worked perfectly after getting that repair done either, and he took it to a cell phone shop too.

@@VATOOUT It's possible. I take very good care of my phone. I have one of those 99 cent screen protectors. I think I've cracked one or two of them over he past 7 years or so. But so far so good. I don't drop the phone very often.
