    That woman giving false identification to the police would have been arrested on the spot in the US. She also has priors, driving without a license and was shoplifting the night before.

      I can’t believe they didn’t arrest her and I find it interesting and new that nobody takes a runner like in England , USA and Canada…..the Gardi have no guns and it all works so well! It’s amazing no guns brings a different outcome on stops by the police! Love it!

      On this side of the world, she'd be arrested and social services called out to look after the child until a relative could take over. That's on top of seizing the vehicle she was driving. She might be released once the police know exactly who she is and are reasonably sure they can find her again if she decides to skip attending court.

    Only 5000 EUR fine for the company fitting the tampering device in the truck is outrageous... More than road safety, they are also literally exploiting the driver. It's a breach of EU transport workers' rights. The company should be fined 50k

      Car seized & scrapped and she'll be stuck on & summonsed to court for no insurance/license & the drive offs. If she was arrested, the guards would have to wait for social services for the child & she would be given bail to appear in court in the station anyway. Arrest would just take the guards off the street for hours for no real point.

    Regarding the seaman's book: For the US you need to get a transit visa class D. It's pretty straightforward with the Seaman's book. I know a good friend from the Philippines who got it with only a short interview at the US embassy.
    The seaman's book is the whole experience as a seaman, every on- and off boarding of vessels and position is documented. It's a vital document also called "the blue book".

      The government can't stop people from arriving illegally outside of airports and other formal entry points. That's why they pay people smugglers - the goal is to totally avoid altogether formal entry points.
      Governments also can not exert control over people who enter legally but then breach their visa conditions. To expect Governments to do so is ludicrous.

      Not enough control of middle lane daydreamers on the m50 who want to sit at 83 when truckers are having to decide which law they'd rather brake to manoeuvre around them... we're not supposed to use lane 1 to undertake people and we're not allowed to drive in lane 3 unless lanes 1 and 2 are closed.

    • @Norbitek25

    • @ciarand2823
      @ciarand2823 2 місяці тому

      @Norbitek25 not enough controls on speeding trucks on M50?... trucks fitted with tachographs are limited to 90, really what more do you want? unless there's a speed restriction displayed on the overhead signs, truckers, along with everyone else are perfectly entitled to make progress where it is safe to do so. If you're sat in the middle lane and a truck is moving faster than you in either of the other two lanes you're the problem in that scenario, you have forced that trucker to decide which rule he/she'd rather break in order to manoeuvre that rig around you. Traffic is so heavy because too many drivers don't know how to use a motorway correctly... if you're not overtaking someone you should be in lane 1 (if you'd call this lane the slow lane you're very much mistaken... it has the same speed limit as the other two lanes) there is no such thing as a "slow lane" on a motorway, motorways were designed and intended to enable large volumes of traffic to move at speed. If you don't like the idea of moving at speed within traffic then you shouldn't be on a motorway, best stick to the back roads.

    • @Norbitek25
      @Norbitek25 2 місяці тому

      @@ciarand2823 More BS plenty of truckers going more than 90 km/h and dangerously tailgating. Gardaí have to start controlling and fining the truckers before they cause a huge accident on the M50.

    • @ciarand2823
      @ciarand2823 2 місяці тому

      @Norbitek25 the Gardaí won't be too bothered but if you'd like to take a note of their plates along with the time and date and forward that information to the RSA I'm sure they'd be interested to check their tachographs to see what's what. If I'm stopped in the lorry they can audit all my activity over the past 28 days including daily rest periods and driving speed. They check to see if the speedometer is calibrated ect, they check the sort of things the Gardaí wouldn't even know to look for. Any discrepancies found could result in fines or loosing my operators licence.

    Perhaps it would have been a good idea, with reference to the truck and it's hidden trip computer manipulator, to dust it for prints and maybe find the people in the workshop responsible for the installation. Maybe the Garda did this and are being coy about it? Either way, truck driver hopped up on meth, and driving ridiculous hours are a nightmare scenario. The kinetic energy in those behemoths as they build up speed is scary, and they will slice through metal and bone as if it were nothing should they crash into another vehicle.

    • @melkiorwiseman5234
      @melkiorwiseman5234 6 місяців тому +1

      If I were the judge, I'd be ordering the driver's heavy vehicle endorsement cancelled and disqualified for a period of time. With the threat of loss of livelihood looming over them, most truck drivers would be be far more hesitant to fit such devices. The fine for the company is also a joke. 5k Euros is nothing to any company of reasonable size. It should be more like 50k Euros. There also need to be regulations on the company not to set unrealistic delivery and operating times for drivers, with huge fines for doing so.

    • @tropicaladult8576
      @tropicaladult8576 8 днів тому

      I am a Filipina and the way you spelt the Philippines, ‘Philippians’ is utterly indictable. First of all, didn’t you finish watching the episode of what happened to what you called ‘fishermen’? instead of the correct grammar fisherman? In the Philippines, you need to go to a university and finish with a curricular structure of 3 years of academics and one year of onboard training, and once you pass all the requirements, then you are a university graduate with a degree of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation or Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. After that, you need to sit for an examination to become qualified as per rank. And lastly, the process is long, you have to undergo more training, medical examination and so forth if you aim to set sail internationally. I can tell you that because of my father and brother's experience as a seafarer/seaman. My father is a retired chief mate officer and my brother is currently working in one of the prestigious yachts.

What they don't show is the number of American military personnel/aircraft that pass through daily, with ZERO security checks allowed on them by customs or immigration, or the number of tall, muscular/fit and heavily bearded Eastern men who come in every day, no passports or ID, claiming to be children under the age of 16, who then disappear into the community, only to show up again at Dublin airport with a new passport/driving license and a ticket to America, all under a different ID to the one they claim when they get here, of course.

    All you have to do is follow any Irish registered truck down any motorway, 65-75 mph is the norm when English vehicles HGVS are only travelling at 56mph which is the legal limit for heavy vehicles. Everyone involved in haulage knows this but for whatever reason the police on the mainland are reluctant to pull these vehicles. Most laden HGVs will exceed the 56mph limit when running down hill as the weight pushes the truck but mysteriously Irish registered vehicles can comfortably do 65mph uphill loaded.

I've driven at times I shouldn't have and look back on how lucky I was. Now I work formyself down to 3.5t but I drive when I wake up and sleep when I feel tired. Drove 16 hours 2 days ago. Some days 3-4 hours. We need a new system the old system isn't working.. The ones who crash and kill tend to be drivers who are legal and abiding by the hours

      Filipina here, yes the Philippine passport is not powerful but the man’s case is that he got a seaman’s book that is a valid document to prove that he is joining a vessel. Also, I’d like to correct the narrator of saying ‘international fisherman’ In the Philippines it takes a four-year program with a curricular structure of 3 years of academics and one year of onboard training to become a graduate of Bachelor of Science in Marine Transportation and Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering. Also, it takes a lot of requirements and examinations to set sail internationally. Please, Sir, next time do your research before you speak on national or world television.
