Hank Azaria is one of THe most under-rated actors of all time. hands down
Most voice actors are the best actors. Kirk Douglas said Mel Blanc was the best actor he'd ever known.
Awww I was actually a receptionist at the NYC studio where Colbert came in to record his Simpsons lines. The recordist knew that I was a huge Simpsons fan, so he handed me Colbert's script, filled with page tabs and highlights of his lines. The recordist said, "Now, don't put this on eBay!" I still have it, and want Colbert to sign it. :-) Also, Hank Azaria came in every Friday afternoon to record his lines for the upcoming Sunday show. He was always super friendly. Just wanted to share that. :-)
That's beyond awesome!
Great story
@JulieBishop Damn, I can't compete with that, I only have 4 millions.
AUDIO ENGINEER!!!!
NOT RECORDIST.
Rock on!
I can't be the only one who would pay to see an animated wizard of Oz all voiced by Hank Azaria...or at least a book on tape.
That was my immediate thought too!
yes somebody plz make that happen...
Yes! I would love to listen to a Wizard of Oz audiobook with these voices!
@Diana Mitford Apu is the wizard. Problem solved.
I once saw a play of Homer and the Iliad all voiced by Simpsons characters. It was absolutely amazing
‘Does the man have no concept of time?’ Omg so funny.
Coz he so smart
@@dutchmaritime6 yer
Glorious! 😂🤣
@@dutchmaritime6?
It's dangerous for any one person to be THAT funny and THAT fit and THAT smart and THAT talented
No offense to Will Smith, but I think Hank Azaria would have been the better choice to step in the shoes of Robin Williams as the Genie in Aladdin.
Diversity in casting....
Ouch, I didn't realise how perfect that casting would be until you said it.
mori1bund I was bummed they chose Will Smith in the first place😒
absolutely
Yeah but....Hank is white so.......
I love Hank. Among many films, his role in the Birdcage was hilarious. It's a movie I know by heart.
Ditto.
He was smokin in that film!
"Are you giving Starrina drugs?"
"No No, it's just Aspirin with the As removed."
@@traceylouisevanspall-oldha1900 "Pirin tablets" is my favorite bit in the whole film! 😂
@@traceylouisevanspall-oldha1900 "Chee werks hard for hare munnies eh eh eh eh. So hard for hare munnies eh eh eh eh...Chee werks hard for hare munnies so joo beyter tree me righ, oh dats righ."
His performance in The Bird Cage is to-die-for!
"Don't forget the shrimpies!"
He's a genius on the Simpsons and I still think Agador Spartacus was his best role and it's not even close.
@@raggededge82Absolutely! Watching him struggle with shoes making 'sweet and sour peasant soup' was brilliant.
Him in the birdcage... Still my all time favorite
Lol He almost broke Stephen. This guy is hilarious. Amazing.
King Hank... how can you not love the guy?!
Are you Indian? Please don’t speak for the second most populated nation on the planet.
I thought he was still in Minsk
cunningstunt, 🤣🤣🤣
I knew he was back but now I definitely see what Phoebe was about with him.
cunningstunt Bwahahaha!!! Good one, ROFL!!! 😂😂😂
Lololol
This just made my night
Can’t stop imagining Moe singing “If I only had a brain”
He was brilliant in The Bird Cage.
You need to have Hank on more often. As a fellow voice actor I love the guy! I was cracking up with his Wiggum/Lion impression!
I loved, loved, loved, LOVED him in the Birdcage!!!
I want agador Spartacus as my big sister...
What can be said about Azaria other than ... he is a most amazingly talented man.
Every day is nope day for me. Love you Hank!
Hank is looking amazing! I miss señor Azaria on the screen, so good to see him back. :)
He's a very charming and delightful person, funny too.
Hank Azaria was Great in "The Birdcage" ... "You're threatened by my Guatemalaness... Yeah, you know, my Latin Heat" 😉
: ) thumbs up
That’s when I fell in love with him.
He's always going to be Agador Spartacus for me
Thank you!!! Everytime he explained why he couldn't wear shoes I would die 😂😂😂
!!!!! 🤣
"Does the man have no concept of time?!"
Absolutely on point with the pun, which seems to have been missed by everyone in the audience
Yes, everyone in the audience missed it, that's why there was immediate laughter and loud applause.
It took me a second to connect name and phrase, and i am glad, yogurt had the time to go down the right pipe and not all over the phone 😂😂😂
@@TheSkillotron it was the laugh and applause commonly heard to small punch lines in simple jokes... this joke was something else despite the simple delivery!
Neither does Hank when he said he was 10 20 30 minutes late!
You have to give credit to Einstein. Theory of relativity
I just adore Hank!!!
the "nope days" is probably the most relatable thing I've heard in a while.
That jacket. Somewhere a '77 Volkswagen is missing its interior.
A 100% natural poliester! I have a feeling it would not burn, but melt, like an atomic reactor 😅
That explains the cut out...
Herb Tarlek would be proud.
Underrated comment. 😂😂
@@mca217 It's a joke from the 70s tv show, WKRP in Cincinnatti. I remember hearing it about 40 years ago. No kidding.
The Mel Blanc of our generation! Medal of Freedom anybody? Kennedy honors? Hello?
"Does the man have no concept of time?!" - This wins the internet! :D
I heard it in Harry Shearer's voice. Even funnier.
I didn't understand it. Is it referencing something?
@@Blaisem... Dr.Hawking was ,among many other things,...a Theoretical Physicist who wrote "A Brief History of Time"!
God, I loved him as the "house boy" in Bird Cage! lol! Especially when he put on shoes! HAH!
Moe: Moe's Tavern.
Bart: Is Mr. Freely there?
Moe: Who?
Bart: Freely, first initials I. P.
Moe: Hold on, I'll check. Uh, is I. P. Freely here? Hey, everybody! I. P. Freely! [the customers laugh] Wait a minute... Listen to me, you lousy bum. When I get a hold of you, you're dead. I swear I'm gonna slice your heart in half!
Homer: You'll get that punk someday, Moe.
Moe: I don't know. He's tough to catch. He keeps changing his name.
man i love the simpsons
Damn, now I want to see Hank Azaria narrate the Wizard of Oz.
I would pay money for that.
Who's Frank Azaria?
*frank oz* / *hank azaria* (not vice versa
How lucky is his kid?!
Jeffrey Tuura morning
Oh well then it premiered two days ago! *bewilderment*
Man he's funny
Dude is a fucking legend
"No Concept of Time?...
Here's to another 30 Years!!
Do you actually STILL watch the Simpsons?
I didn't get that joke. Could someone please explain? Thanks.
@@Blaisem Stephen Hawking literally wrote a book about the concept of time.

Excellent interview!! So talented!! I had no idea that was him in Along Came Polly movie!!
Are you for S.C.U.B.A.?
S: Self
C: Contained
U: Underwater
B: Breathing
A: Apparatus
I've never noticed before but his normal voice sounds a lot like Jon Stewart. I noticed it when I looked away from the screen a few times.
Now that you mention it, you're right. Even a lot his style of speaking is very similar.
Freaky! I was just thinking that and scrolled down to see this comment.
I think most of it has to do with the inflections in his voice when listening to the interview again with my eyes closed there were definitely several times when I swear it was Jon Stewart doing an impression of some kind, because the voice sounded different but the inflections were practically the exact same.
Anyone know the music azaria walks on stage to in the beginning? 0:13 I’m obsessed
I feel like I can steal that joke about Mr Hawking. That was astounding.
“Moe’s tavern.. Moe speaking!”
hi i'm looking for a ms. tenschit, first name ivy.
Everybody: Go rewatch the Friends Episodes where Hank is Phoebe's hilarious boyfriend Dave and tell me that role is not the blueprint for TheBigBangTheory !!
His likeability that overshadows all social awkwardness esp. towards her next boyfriend proposing to her is EXACTLY the thing that made TBBT so successful !
The big bang theory is shit
Baseball god...best episode ever...Brockmire, third season...
Funny and charming.
great interview, hilarious icon
Please put out an audio book with the Wizard of Oz read in the voices of Simpsons characters....please...pretty please
With the Simpsons re-characterization
Or dub the movie in SImpsons voices!
So Moe is the scarecrow and Chief Wiggum is the Cowardly Lion, which character (of the ones Hank voices, that is) would be the Tin Man? Chalmers?
It's 'the Blue Raja' - master of forks......
Smiles
OMG! Yes, Blue Raja was hilarious! Mystery Men was my most favourite superhero movie, much more than Black Panther or The Avengers!
Absolutely. It's a staple around my house.
such a lovely person
I'm so jealous of him meeting Stephen Hawking!!! He's one of my heroes/role models. One of the greatest humans that was on this Earth, and I had the pleasure to live in the same small blip of time as him 😌
I love how Hank got a laugh out of Stephen.
"It's completely priceless to me"
Rolls it into a ball and puts his ass on it :D
"They often ask me to take off my cloths in movies...."
That's funny.
Thank you, Hank Azaria. Love it, lol!
He is fantastic in "Birdcage", but then everything in that movie is fantastic.
Hank Azaria is such an enjoyable person. So funny!
The man is so effortlessly hilarious. Hank is a fucking legend.
Nothing better than someone who loves their work
Oh my gosh. That Harry Shearer quote was golden.
Love this so much, so great!
my mum tells me that when i was little whenever she put on a voice when reading a story i used to grumpily say "read it properly".
He will forever be the Blue Raja to me.
O M JEE yes
I can hear Chief Wiggum in his voice.
Great interview☺️ very funny... thanks 🙏
THE MIRACLE OF POLYESTER! SCIENCE!
In awe of Hank's 50-plus-year-old body! BIOLOGY! But that plaid jacket sure makes him 30 years older.
We need to freeze this man to preserve his greatness
First time I saw him was on Friends and after that, I couldn't stop but admiring him.
I'd walk a mile to see and hear Hank Azaria. I love this guy!
Same thing happened to my boyfriend and I at the gym, the instructor said to me your Dad lifts alot of weights..
💗Hank Azaria - funny, smart, good looking.
Look up the film run fat boy run with Hank and Simon Pegg in..its so funny in the locker room scene..check it out.
His Guatamalan-ness was also on display in THE BIRDCAGE.
Brockmire is such a great show
I fucking love Hank!
Lol! What a funny man.
I love Hank Azaria!!!!!
Just love him ❤️
Seriously, what's not to love?
I would definitely buy Hank Azaria's Wizard of Oz audiobooks series.
Oh science jokes, how I’ve missed thee.
Hank in the Birdcage as Agador was one of funniest characters I have seen
I want to hear his wizard of oz!! I’m sure it’s amazing!
Best interview ever Stephen .
3:08 I've been assumed to be my wife's father and she's only 2½ years younger than me. It was after my beard and hair had gone quite gray - that's my excuse. She cheats slightly on her hair color and has no beard. The experience had both negative (looking older) and positive (having a young-looking wife) aspects.
What's crazy is that he was 25 years old when the Simpson first aired in December 1989 and he's turning 55 years old next month.
You're right. According to my calculations, he'd be 65. Does the man have no concept of time?
Hank Azaria... Such comedic genius. ROFLMAO!
Ridiculously talented!
Awwww, when me and my siblings were little our dad would read us stories and do all the voices, and if he tried to do it normally we'd get upset and make him do the voices! Story time with dad was the best! ^_^
His jacket. I saw a guy at a concert with the same pattern in teal, green and cream white. I think it was either JC Penny, Sears or Wards, 1968-1974.
2000s Godzilla brought me here
Omg, he's still so young looking. I remember him on the tracey ullman show.
He wasn't on the Tracey Ullman Show. That was only Dan Castellanetta and Julie Kavner. Nancy Cartwright and Yardley Smith were cast just the voices.
It's Frank Grimes being interviewed by Frank Grimes 😂
Hank Azaria, the real voice of Venom.
Out of all the Simpsons voice actors, he’s the one who inexplicably became more well known. No love for Harry or Dan?
Dan looks more like Homer Simpson every day, not just his voice. He could do a live-action Simpsons now.
Sometimes it's better not to ever see voice actors. I was happily ignorant of what H. Jon Benjamin looked like, and only knew his voice, as Sterling Archer and Bob Belcher, from Archer and Bob's Burgers, respectively. Then he started doing those damn chicken sandwich commercials and freaked me out. A little side effect of living in a weed-legal state, I suppose. But c'mon, that voice shouldn't be coming out of that face.
He's the most established actor outside of the Simpsons. He's been on Broadway several times, plus show-stealing roles in The Birdcage and Ray Donovan.
Can I raise a practical question at this point - are we gonna do Stonehenge tomorrow?
He's brilliant 😻😲🙏
Gotta say brockmire is an amazing comedy this guy is unbelievable
That Hawking joke. I have to learn to swallow my drink earlier lol
I love Hank Azaria. 🥰
He’s so talented!
Great interview... but I _especially_ want Hank's suit. That is *sharp*
Omg I want to watch this version of Wizard of Oz!
Hank is awesome! As is Brockmire!
Brockmire is some of the most brilliant TV out there.
What a voice
What happened to "APU" lollllllll
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
OMG - my jaw just *literally* DROPPED at that picture
54 years old and looking STELLAR, Hank!!
