  • Introducing the rare MIDLAND 7001 (FCC) precision series, model 79-007, a 40-channel SSB/AM CB Radio featuring the PTBM107AOX board. This exceptional SSB/AM radio by CYBERNET is considered one of the best ever constructed. Additionally, the newer Midland 79-013 model is available, equipped with a Uniden board (or possibly a clone EPT-3600xx?), maintaining a design closely resembling the 79-007. Details and distinctions from the Export version are provided, along with schematic diagrams and PCB layouts. The presentation also includes an extensive visual showcase of the 40ch, 120ch, and 400ch versions, accompanied by the soundtrack "N5 from outer space" by Alexander Robotnick & Ludus Pinski.

Hey swizzradios! I watched the video of the one Palomar radio you did not to long ago because I have a radio that was also sold under the Palomar name. It is a Pacer XLR29 that is the same thing as a Palomar 49. Mine has the green bread ties on the wires just like the one you showed lol. Im guessing the Palomars and their clones were all made by Dae Il or Daeil in Korea? I'll leave a comment on that video so you know which one I mean. Thank you for your reply and hope you are well!!! 73s to you!!!

@@Littlelewie151 CB radio friend hello again! Yes of course, this radio uses the famous KOREA chassis. The PALOMAR SSB-500 was the start with this PCB. A lot of CB-radios uses this PCB like the STALKER 101, COBRA 138XLR, PRESIDENT GRANT MK1, PRESIDENT Washington MK1, Electronica 360, WKS-101 and many more. This is a very good chassis, with a famous Speech-processor for SSB. Happy airwaves to you..

I always liked the look of the Midland Precision Series CBs, with a Cybernet board, brilliant. They all looked the part and at least they had a meter you could see what it was reading, unlike the black background everyone moved to.

@@SWIZZRADIOS You will not find me on Farsebook (NOTE what I called Facebook as that is what I think of it) never liked it. I have a mobile phone, but a mobile phone does not let you meet people, especially strangers. CB was very good at that. I missed extra income after CB faded, I used to undo what the so called Screwdriver experts did to the poor CBs.
CB is slowly coming back and thanks to Coronavirus it is taking off again. Mostly on SSB over here, but the FM sets we had here are coming back, new CBs are coming out with the UK channels as well as EU ones, but I am not a fan of Software driven CBs, I would find them impossible to drive and operate one. I like the older CBs where you had a knob or a switch for everything. Not put this adjust by pushing this button and you have 3 seconds to adjust or it goes back to the main screen.
They are also low on power being mostly 3 watts, we are allowed 4 watts. Some of the old CBs struggled to get 4 watts out, but these were cheap and you get what you pay for.
However, you pay a lot of money to get a cheap performance of the cheap nasty sets of the 80s.
I bought all the books to go for my Ham Licence, but so far all I have done is read one. Full licence is of no real interest to me, 50watts is all I need, anyone can use radio at 400 watts or in the case of Italians 1KW.
Not all that interested in the new digital formats of Ham Radio, I like SSB or if I ever learn it CW.
      Keep the videos coming.

This just *looks* like a supreme CB radio system. Would have loved to have one of these back in the day. This, along with a good ol' TRC-457, would be a couple of great models to have today. Looks like you've got *THREE* of these suckers! Beautiful radio's...
Just looked this model up on Ebay and although there are currently none for sale/auction, the last three sold on there for $31, $35 and $89 with the third one being in new condition. They are out there but you gotta be patient and willing to wait for the right one to show up. Of course, it also helps if you're willing to *PAY* whatever it happens to command :)

The old Midland 7001 was one of the latest CYBERNET products in 1978. CYBERNET has never built a better CB-Radio after the 40CH time. Unidens were the better CB radios in 1980-1983. Is your name Microsoft Sam?
In Europe we get ripped off badly because of authoritarian governments making restrictive rules about our products and by hugely inflated prices. Ham gear is outrageous in terms of cost, no matter what it is you are buying. A simple frequency counter, for example, can cost the earth. Antennas are even more stupidly priced. Largely, I think, because in Europe the customer puts up with it. The Chinese are beginning to challenge this and can do it because of their lower wage costs but that will not last. Grab good Chinese stuff now while you can

Mister CB radio fan Mike hello thank you for your visit on my channel. Yes of course, newer CYBERNET radios (1981+) do have cheaper filters included. But these from the middle- and last 70ies have large Xtal filters includet. But all in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and instagram profiles. Best 73s and happy airwaves to you and yours. ..
