- Опубліковано 4 сер 2014
- Introducing the rare MIDLAND 7001 (FCC) precision series, model 79-007, a 40-channel SSB/AM CB Radio featuring the PTBM107AOX board. This exceptional SSB/AM radio by CYBERNET is considered one of the best ever constructed. Additionally, the newer Midland 79-013 model is available, equipped with a Uniden board (or possibly a clone EPT-3600xx?), maintaining a design closely resembling the 79-007. Details and distinctions from the Export version are provided, along with schematic diagrams and PCB layouts. The presentation also includes an extensive visual showcase of the 40ch, 120ch, and 400ch versions, accompanied by the soundtrack "N5 from outer space" by Alexander Robotnick & Ludus Pinski.

A Midland microphone is so beautiful, almost perfect
Mister Ian hello, thank you for your interest on my channel. So all in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. There was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. So I'm not on facebook, but on 27 MHz… Merry Xmas to you and yours...
Man I love the look of them. One of my dream radios!
Hello dr CB radio fan Littlelewie151, thank you for your interest. All in all, CB-radios and antennas are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. Best 73s de Stefan and happy airwaves to you. ..
Hey swizzradios! I watched the video of the one Palomar radio you did not to long ago because I have a radio that was also sold under the Palomar name. It is a Pacer XLR29 that is the same thing as a Palomar 49. Mine has the green bread ties on the wires just like the one you showed lol. Im guessing the Palomars and their clones were all made by Dae Il or Daeil in Korea? I'll leave a comment on that video so you know which one I mean. Thank you for your reply and hope you are well!!! 73s to you!!!
@@Littlelewie151 CB radio friend hello again! Yes of course, this radio uses the famous KOREA chassis. The PALOMAR SSB-500 was the start with this PCB. A lot of CB-radios uses this PCB like the STALKER 101, COBRA 138XLR, PRESIDENT GRANT MK1, PRESIDENT Washington MK1, Electronica 360, WKS-101 and many more. This is a very good chassis, with a famous Speech-processor for SSB. Happy airwaves to you..
Good post.....I had a 7001 many years ago...loved it at the time, fond memories thanks for posting and a great channel by the way. I will give it a shout out on my next posting. Gary
Captain Scarlet hello, thank you for your commend. Please, take a look into my other MIDLAND 7001videos. There are two videos with 400 CH European versions. Take a look also into the MIDLAND 6001 (European) videos. Best wishes to you...
I always liked the look of the Midland Precision Series CBs, with a Cybernet board, brilliant. They all looked the part and at least they had a meter you could see what it was reading, unlike the black background everyone moved to.
Mister Bob, hello, I'm back again! All in all, CB-radios are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. So I'm not on facebook, but on 27 MHz. Happy airwaves to you...
@@SWIZZRADIOS You will not find me on Farsebook (NOTE what I called Facebook as that is what I think of it) never liked it. I have a mobile phone, but a mobile phone does not let you meet people, especially strangers. CB was very good at that. I missed extra income after CB faded, I used to undo what the so called Screwdriver experts did to the poor CBs.
CB is slowly coming back and thanks to Coronavirus it is taking off again. Mostly on SSB over here, but the FM sets we had here are coming back, new CBs are coming out with the UK channels as well as EU ones, but I am not a fan of Software driven CBs, I would find them impossible to drive and operate one. I like the older CBs where you had a knob or a switch for everything. Not put this adjust by pushing this button and you have 3 seconds to adjust or it goes back to the main screen.
They are also low on power being mostly 3 watts, we are allowed 4 watts. Some of the old CBs struggled to get 4 watts out, but these were cheap and you get what you pay for.
However, you pay a lot of money to get a cheap performance of the cheap nasty sets of the 80s.
I bought all the books to go for my Ham Licence, but so far all I have done is read one. Full licence is of no real interest to me, 50watts is all I need, anyone can use radio at 400 watts or in the case of Italians 1KW.
Not all that interested in the new digital formats of Ham Radio, I like SSB or if I ever learn it CW.
Keep the videos coming.
@@BoB4jjjjs Thanks, you're welcome. Happy airwaves to you...
I always loved that bluish grey colour scheme.
Dr OM MM0IMC hello, thank you for your interest on my channel. Yes, this 7001 is really a big rig. All in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. There was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. So I'm not on facebook, but on 27 MHz… Best 73 to you and yours...
Swizz radio thanks for replying to my message i was just reminiscing about the days when i first owned this radio back 1978,,
joe Le tec At koss Yes, thank you for your comment. Now we've a small CB renesance here in Switzerland, because CB-ing is now free. Many old rabbits come back on 27 MHz. I'm one of these. Best 73s to you.
This just *looks* like a supreme CB radio system. Would have loved to have one of these back in the day. This, along with a good ol' TRC-457, would be a couple of great models to have today. Looks like you've got *THREE* of these suckers! Beautiful radio's...
Just looked this model up on Ebay and although there are currently none for sale/auction, the last three sold on there for $31, $35 and $89 with the third one being in new condition. They are out there but you gotta be patient and willing to wait for the right one to show up. Of course, it also helps if you're willing to *PAY* whatever it happens to command :)
Bakerman hello, thank you for the info. Yes, these original 7001, are there in europe very rare. We've here a lot of 80, 120 or 400ch versions with PTBM059 or PTBM125 PCB's. These are all mode (FM) but not so realy "precision series". Best 73's to you.
I can remember purchasing this radio back in 1978 midland 2001
joe Le tec At koss Mr. Joe hello, thank you for the info. I've a 2001 in my collection. But it's a 120 CH AM/FM for the european Export market. Best 73s to you...
Nice Radio :) I have always loved CBs with AM / SSB :)
Mr Sean hello! Thank you for the comment. AM/SSB radios are also my favourite CB-Radios. Best 73s to you..
Ein sehr schönes Gerät. Nice
wow nice radio! thanks
+Butter Bean hello! Thank you for your comment. The M7001 is one of my favourite radios. Best 73s to you...
You are the man ❤❤
Hello mister CB-radio fan, thank you for your visit on my channel. All in all, CB- and HAM- radios are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and instagram profiles. Best 73 to you and yours.
Fine radio. I had a unit with an inside layout like the Midland 7001, I think it was a Vector am/ssb radio. There is nearly no information to be found on it.
Orange hello, how are you? Thank you for the comment. Yes, there is no information abt. VECTOR Radio in the web. Best 73's to you..
Very interesting video. Do you know where I can found the schematic diagram of the roger beep board? Or have you it? I have not fount it in internet. I am interested also on this beep:)
Mr TYCO hello, thank you for your interest. You'll find the beep-schematic in my video as follows: ua-cam.com/video/_SyaEc2Rns8/v-deo.html
And this special roger beep (beeweep) calls HY-GAIN 5 beep. You'll find the HY-GAIN 5 bleepboard in the COBRA WORXSHOP: www.cobraworxshopz.com/bleeps_27.html
Congratulations, that is a very nice radio to find. Are you going to leave it original? Did it need any work done?
Cheers from Australia
Hi CB-Radio fan, thank you for the question. Yes, the condition of this 7001 was OK, but I made a realignment after these years. The front cover is now repainted. Best 73's to you..
would love to have one of these radios.
Yes sir, it's really a very superb radio. All in all, CB-radios and antennas are a passion of mine. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBer Parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. Best 73s and happy airwaves to you. ...
Hello dear Swizzradios, in what do you find the earlier version better ? selectivity, quality of modulation ?
Yes, the selectivity of the receiver is far cleaner than the 400ch version with PTBM125print. The filter in the SSB part of the 400 versions is small and very poor...
Nice radio series!
If i should choose between the 120 ch version and the 400ch version, do they have the same board basicly or is there big difference between this to models?
Thanks! Jan from Sweden.
Mr Jan hello, thank you for your interest. The 120CH version is using the PTBM059COX board (3x40CH) and the 400CH version the PTBM125A4X (4x50CH). You'll find these schematics on the HAM-INTERNATIONAL side: ham-international.nuxit.net/cybernet.htm
Thank you very much for reply and great info! I just (yesterday) bought myself the 120 ch version from ebay, cant wait to have it test it and compare to my other stations, its really looking to be a nice rig. Thanks from Sweden! Jan/21JL66.
Yes of course, the 120CH-version has the more professional board installed , like the 400CH. Because: The SSB filter is bigger and more better, The driver and final is installed in a kind of box with big heatsink, the AF-Amp (TA7205) is not so noisi like the new one. Good luck with your new radio...
Hello mister MIDLAND 7001 user, thank you for your interest. Your 120channels version radio uses the PTBM059COX board. This print is supplied with the FM section. The US-version don't have FM includet. Best 73s to you..
very cool
Hello dr OM, thank you for the commend. You're welcome..
Brilliant

ZIELAK77 hello again. Please take a look into my video about the 400ch version with frequency readout:

Hello, its a beautiful radios, both two pretty similar to General Electric 3 5825 A and 3 5825B. They share similar switches on frontal, AWI warning LED, and a lot of internal parts. I would like to view the inside of the export versión. Greetings. Both brands would be designed and manufactured by the same team. The General Electric what I had were build in Japan. Where was builded yours ?
CB-radio friend hello, thank you again for your visit on my channel. A lot of CB-manufacturer had identical PCB installed in there's chassis. UNIDEN and CYBERNET were the two big manufacturer in the 70/80ies. All in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and instagram profiles. Best 73s and happy airwaves to you and yours. ..
Hello, I just find one like this, could yl share ne how to aligment?

this diagram looks like the earlier cobra 148 that was used to make radios like the president Jackson, the superstar 3900 then was made to base the galaxy base
danny blackhorse Thank you for your interest. OK, I think the new MIDLAND 8001 has the similar schematic diagramm like the SUPERSTAR 3900 or President Jackson. Happy airwaves to you...
What are the other radios that use that board?
Mr Alex hello, thank you for the question. I don't know which radio uses the similar board. The MIDLAND 6001 (79-006) uses the similar board. Has anybody a plan? Thank you...
What about the Lafayette lms 45
Oh yes, the LMS45 is in similar design. But I don't know wich Chassis this Lafayette is using. 73s to you.
Could you look into the low modulation on a President George If there is a way to improve.
Mr Alex hello, thank you for the question. The PRESIDENT GEORGE is'nt in my collection. I can't help you to time. Best 73's to you...
I just picked up 2 of these beauties. They are superb and vastly superior to the cheap European copies.
Thank you Buddy for your post! CB-radios are a passion of mine. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBer Partys, out of iPhones and facebook profiles... Happy airwaves to you..
Can it be expanded to give more coverage?
Yes, there is an info on CBtricks. www.cbtricks.com/pub/secret_cb/vol_08/graphics/secret_cb_vol_08_pg21.pdf
Is that mod for the original US 40 channel version? Can you get high band?
Yes, the mod is for the MIDLAND 7001 -79-007 (PTBM107AOX). You'll get low or high bands by changing the offset-Xtal. Happy airwaves to you...
I am hunting one of these, if you happen to see one.... :)
Yes of course, this is one of the famousest CB-radio into europe. But the original ua-cam.com/video/HxHdf1F_lBQ/v-deo.html from the US market, is more better in the quality. The electronic circuit of the 40CH FCC version is far better produced like the european export version. Happy airwaves to you...
Do you sell them?
Mister dwenpogs hello, thank you for your interest. I'm sorry the famous M7001 isn't for sale to day. All in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. So I'm not on facebook, but on 27 MHz… Happy airwaves to you.

Wie schade sie nict FM machen konte
Doch doch, die gibt es schon mit FM: ua-cam.com/video/uT2J2Hy_unw/v-deo.html
I thought the Uniden President HR 2510 was the best CB Radio ever built.
+MisterPersuasion oh yes, the President HR 2510 is a good CB/HAM-radio, it's manufactured in 1988 and also in my collection. The old Midland 7001 was one of the latest CYBERNET products in 1978. CYBERNET has never built a better CB-Radio after the 40CH time. Unidens were the better CB radios in 1980-1983. Happy airwaves to you...
You should do a video on the HR 2510 sometime. So which is better between the Midland 7001 and the HR 2510, in your opinion?
+MisterPersuasion Ok, but it's better when I make an opinion between the HR2510 and the SOMMERKAMP TS-788DXCC. These both radios are HAM/CB radios with similar attributes. The Midland 7001 is only a 40 CH CB-radio from a earlier generation.
Whatever video you make, I'll come watch and like. I've subscribed to your channel. :)
+SWIZZRADIOS So I'm just wondering how you rate the SOMMERKAMP TS-788DXCC. I've never owned one but have seen plenty of them and I was told they were very unstable. I have owned most of the Uniden 2830s and President Lincolns etc and they're great radios if a little delicate.
no, GE was by far superior, and better looking.
Mister Paul hello thank you for you info. Yes, GE-radios are also superb! But all in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. There was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and facebook profiles. So I'm not on facebook, but on 27 MHz… 73 and happy airwaves to you.
Is your name Microsoft Sam?
In Europe we get ripped off badly because of authoritarian governments making restrictive rules about our products and by hugely inflated prices. Ham gear is outrageous in terms of cost, no matter what it is you are buying. A simple frequency counter, for example, can cost the earth. Antennas are even more stupidly priced. Largely, I think, because in Europe the customer puts up with it. The Chinese are beginning to challenge this and can do it because of their lower wage costs but that will not last. Grab good Chinese stuff now while you can
Hello Mr Justice. Thank you for your comment. Yes, a lot of electronic components are very expensive. The Prices in Europe are very high. Best 73's to you.
There's a better one , the same radio with a frequency counter
Hello old man, how are you. Yes of course, the radio is in my collection:
ua-cam.com/video/AdWsp1wnfFo/v-deo.html
Best wishes to you....
Never liked cybernet radios total garbage if you lived in a city with a lot cbers around you, uniden radios where supreme to bleed over.president, cobra, uniden ect ect
Mister CB radio fan Mike hello thank you for your visit on my channel. Yes of course, newer CYBERNET radios (1981+) do have cheaper filters included. But these from the middle- and last 70ies have large Xtal filters includet. But all in all, CB-radios and -antennas are a passion of me. It was a beautiful time in the 80ies: Big CBiers parties, without smartphones and instagram profiles. Best 73s and happy airwaves to you and yours. ..
