    Many problems with radios can be just that mal adjustment
    My rule of thumb with anything not quite right is to do the full alignment procedure this then will usually bring out any gremlins or as you found magically fix the issue
    I recently did a 121 board that seemed ok albeit a little less sensitive
    After a alignment it’s gremlins came out to play it developed feed back on SSB RX
    I did the usual visual inspection replaced a few green caps but still had this issue
    There was a low voltage on SSB RX caused by a missing resistor on the TX/RX switching transistors took a bit to find and again man made faults are usually the hardest to find
    Another great video and another classic saved top work as always

    I've got one. It was my dad's he bought it back in 1981. He talked to people all over the world on usb/lsb. I remember all it had done was the beep beep put on the anl switch. I wonder what its worth?

    Nice set you got there, I just found out my mum sent her colt excalibur ssb to someone to fix as it means a lot to her as it was a gift from my brother who has not long passed away. I saw it the other day i said why it was not on she said it was not working calibration potentiometer is now bent and the knob is missing. I turned it on but no TX power and now no RX. Golden screwdriver once again but she wont tell me who did it. I saw some paper on top of it with a list of things they did/did not do as it is in a state.

    bit iffy in the darlington area on solder side as the 121 boards often are when somebody messes with them, they were not made well in that area, not an expert by any means but very fermilliar with this circuit board, and as some say the better 125 board, ask me about a cobra though and i wouldent have a clue lol

    • @MicroChipz
      @MicroChipz  Рік тому

      Yes , typical darlington repair, was working so i left it alone .

Please any help would Be Appreciated, I just want a ssb radio to work at home to listen to, Thanks Brian

      Hi , I would strongly recommend you get it to a tech , you might be trying to chase a fault that’s not there , or if it has a fault without replacement parts you won’t get it going g again .
