- Here at Common Farm Flowers in Somerset Flower farmer and florist Georgie Newbery is harvesting flowers for drying. After a super hot period of weather and blinding sunshine for weeks the potential for dried flowers here at Common Farm is fantastic. Georgie shows you what she's cropping for using in creative projects throughout the autumn and winter. Ps there are autumn and winter wreathing workshops and demos coming up through the autumn so do look at the website for details and to book your place.

Thank you

The drying bunches look lovely hung from the beams, even though your husband like mine is tall.
Yes they do x
I agree with Joanne, every day!!! Perfect. Even more perfect if in the autumn you would consider doing videos on dried flower arrangements. You always seem to add so many useful tips and ideas.
Jan

I hope so too! x

Was that celosia? The white spiky towards the end? Thank you - great video
no celosia - wonder if you meant sea lavender? or veronicastrum x
Such a cheerful start to my day - thank you Georgie! Quick question - limonium and statice - are they the same thing?
limonium is sea lavender and statice is a tall flower that grows almost dry - not the same thing - both worth growing x
Your shield bug looks very similar to our Brown Marmorated Stink Bug here in Canada, which is considered an invasive species due to its destruction of fruit crops. I like to dry Hydrangeas as well since they turn such a nice cream colour. Will you be making wreaths or do you sell your dried flowers in bunches? Enjoy your day!
we'll make wreaths and autumn projects with this lot x
Just ordered Eryngeum. Do you ever have trouble with strawflowers drooping over the next day? Drying them is wonderful but I'd love to be able to count on them fresh also. Even with the wiggle test some end up tipping over.
I don't - but I don't cut them often for bouquet work x
I would like to sign up for dahlia on line workshop. How do I do it
Hello Carol - unfortunately the workshop has sold out but we will make the recording available to buy afterwards. You can either take a look at our website (probably from the 10th November onwards) or if you drop nicola@commonfarmflowers.com a message and let her know you'd like to be told when it's available she will let you know.
