She watched the video, took intensive notes, compiled her thoughts and edited a 35 minute video all within 5 hours of JS posting. Wow we do not deserve this hardworking queen
- “I’ve never committed a crime” - “I used to shoplift makeup a few years ago” - “I’ve never blackmailed anyone” - “I have dirt on everyone. And they know to keep their mouths shut.” - "I haven't seen ANYTHING going on on social media" - Was liking posts from July 1-18 - “Ive been doing a lot of self reflecting” - has been out shopping, making UA-cam videos with other people, meeting fans, hanging out with Black Chyna, not social distancing and not seen wearing a mask. Does he do anything but lie?
Even if he really didn't commit crimes in his past, why bring that up? What's the point of that? So many things in his "apology" made me think: "Why? WHY did you say that? What's the point?" I'm also going to echo Peter Monn in saying that Jeffree saying he always featured black people in his ads and made his makeup line shade inclusive was like saying "I have a black friend."
People: You displayed a pattern of aggressively racist behaviour to POC Jeffree: *proceeds to use a black woman - a victim of police brutality to shield himself from criticism*
It’s disgusting because the same black folks are saying how performative and repulsive by mention the lives of black people who he himself would have been racist too is gross
Why is that whenever we call out someone, they always tell us to worry about “bigger issues”, as if we can’t worry about BLM and problematic people. Multitasking must not be a strong suit for influencers.
Seems like there’s only room for one thought at a time for these people. Can they even eat or drink while thinking about problems or is that too overwhelming for them? 🤔
Telling us to worry about the bigger picture is a covert insult implying we are being petty and blowing everything out of proportion. Essentially minimizing their wrong doings by telling us to just get over it because they're tired of dealing with our "petty" criticisms. Criticisms they don't feel they deserve.
This is such a common manipulation tactic designed to not only deflect blame from the actual issue, but also to make you feel bad for even bringing it up (i.e “Wow, I’m so stupid/selfish for caring about this when there are other things to worry about.”) By making you question yourself, the manipulator tries to ensure you won’t bring it up again. This is SO MUCH MORE COMMON than a lot of people think. By pointing out other people who have done worse/ other situations that are worse, we tend to feel what we have done isn’t “that bad” and try to convince others to do the same. It’s truly disgusting to make people feel bad for trying to hold you accountable for your actions. True manipulation at its finest.
Voldemort had more of a spine, he didn't pretend to be anything but evil. He straight up presented himself as what he was, he didn't pretend to be the victim, or the defender of the down trodden. Jeffree is actual trash.
I am so disappointed in myself that I let myself be manipulated by Shane's original docu-series on J*. I genuinely thought he had changed based on that series...I was wrong. It feels gross to know how manipulative it all was.
@@lydia5286 don't be too hard on yourself, Shane handcrafted that video to make you feel that way. that whole series was just a long form PR stunt after J* got exposed for being a racist.
girl look at how many other people also got manipulated, don’t feel too bad about yourself because that was the point of what he did. imagine buying your first big eyeshadow palette as a result of the series, i can lol 😗🔫 now it sits in my underwear drawer waiting to be destroyed + i never do my makeup anymore. i got full on manipulated bc i thought i related to shane over my eating disorder lmao 😗✌🏻 that is why you eat enough to think coherently ladies
Jeffree really thought it was appropriate to plug his August launch right after talking about Breonna taylor... Yikes, black twitter gonna tear him a new one tomorrow 💀
Dude for real! I never clicked on a video quicker than I did his “apology.” He’s so manipulative. I’m extremely happy my 15 year old daughter doesn’t like him and now doesn’t like Shane. These people are ridiculous.
Becks Woof what part of his apology seemed genuine to you? Half of it was a damned promo. He used BLM to distract from HIS mistakes. That is absolutely disgusting.
Emunah • YHWH's Creation stubbing, not stumping your toe is an accident. If you do it over and over intentionally because you like the pain then it’s no longer an accident- it’s a conscious choice. Choosing to be an asshole over and over and not changing is not a mistake. You’re comparing apples to oranges.
The whole point of realizing your mistake is choosing to consciously change it. He acknowledges the mistakes but does not choose to change it and does it over and over again. He KNOWS it’s a mistake otherwise he wouldn’t be apologizing therefore he is choosing not to change if he keeps doing it again
Tbh, I believe that this was her genuine reaction - just not to the realisation of who she use to be but to the fact that she was loosing subscribers and her career was in jeopardy. “Worst apology video”? absolutely. Until now of course.
This really made me think like.... did j* help write Shane’s weird twitter monologue? Or are they so similar that they use the same language when deflecting apologies
@@youoyoyoyoyuoy I think he did. Even if it was just bits of it e.g. the part where Shane talks about how Tati went off with the 'bye sister' video sounded eerily like something J* would say
It’s wild how he almost compulsively flexes his wealth. Like, he couldn’t chill out for one apology video. He had to sit as far away from the camera as possible so people could see his mansion 👁👄👁
These "subtle" choices are really loud and clear to many people both positively and negatively, and always in the way that the message is intended either way.
I think the first thing that made me realize the apology wasn’t going to be genuine was the location of the video. He shot the video on his gold flashy couch, with his double staircase in the background and his nicest robe on. It just came off as odd and an unnecessary power move.
@@pink-uv3th you know what OP means. he could have popped on his green screen like in his past "apology" videos or even his regular videos. yet he didnt... and chose to film in his mansion. :/
Agreed the second I clicked on the video and saw the whole shot I immediately called BS...totally flexing and being condescending to his own viewers. Smh
The way he brought up black folks who have been killed to deflect. Like hearing those names come out of his mouth enraged me to a point I have rarely experienced.
To be fair, Tati’s original video received a lot of backlash because people thought she was shifting the focus away from BLM and being selfish. I saw a lot of comments under her video referencing Justice for victims of police brutality and how no one cares about her drama. Jeffree would have received backlash either way, but I still agree it definitely came off fake and a way to make himself look better while also trying to make what he did seem insignificant.
Isabella G I just think he didn’t need to edge it in. Because people can want both things, justice for victims and his acknowledgment of his extreme wrong doings. Like if this was all about some silly drama that actually meant nothing I’d understand being frustrated and maybe saying something. But his actions are big and terrible with large consequences for the actual victims of his behavior.
Isabella G the difference is jeffree has contributed quite a bit to racism. Has acted really questionable towards POC specially black women. There’s also recent allegations that came out about him and how he treated cam lester, the vegas thing where an ex friend of his said he would use racial slurs etc... but didnt take the time to address any of those.. instead chose to divert and use it for his own benefit and on the same video mention that he is coming out with new products next month.. i cant. only the willing will not see through this BS
Literally he only “came back” to make sure his stans would still be stanning him for his August launch. It was a half assed “apology” video to make sure people would buy his makeup in August because he wants more money
This! Definitely. I didn’t watch the video cause I didn’t want to give another view (not that it’d make a difference) and didn’t waste my time, but I heard he mentioned at the end that he has stuff coming out.
Thor nah comparing Jaclynn hill to a violent racist who’s shown for years how dangerous he is is weird. Jaclynn hill is just grimy with no past of being racist that black gurus have been speaking out about but being ignored.
His video went up and my roommate and I watched it together. Before it started, I said “he’s launching something soon. Just wait. That’s why he’s putting this out.” Then he announced it at the end and I literally screamed “THERE IT IS”
He's a Scumbag why bring them up to make your gain then gotta nerve to sponsor your makeup he was not being sincere whatsoever. He didnt even put anything in the description to donate to those families.
He may have read through Tati‘s comments, because a lot of people wrote what she was fussing about when their punishers were still not imprisoned. Just thinking.
@@yurei317 He's an asshole and seem narcissistic he gonna talk about BLM but didnt even bother to donate to them or put petition links on the video then got the nerve to sponsor his new makeup smh they should have been separate videos but it's clear he dont care😒
Right?! Petty Paige actually looked into it. He was never arrested, but he got a ticket in 2019. Under the name *"Jeffrey Steininger"* so he lied yet again about changing his name to Jeffree Star in 2009... He tells that story *all the time*
He said HE was the loudest person who called out non-inclusive brands? Ignoring Jackie Aina when she’s even called him out for calling her a gorilla? Y’all brainless if you think he’s not racist.
Agreed, I was pissed when he bought up the blm movement and my first thought was "how fxxx dare you say your the loudest voice talking about black oppression WHEN YOU HAVE CONTRIBUTED TO IT"
Tbh for me him being racist and the brand being inclusive are two separate things. His brand might very well be inclusive, but the reason would be that it looks good and progressive. It's just one of the marketing strategies and profiting on the market that is only now getting "discovered". J*'s personal views and behaviour is separate from that. That does not mean that he shouldn't be taken accountable and called out for racism, of course. All I am saying is that he and his brand are two separate identities.
"Have you heard of Jackie Aina?" Yea. He called her a rat. And a gorilla. He called a black creator a gorilla. I don't ever remember him apologizing or even addressing this at all. Ever.
@Cynthia Zavala I both agree and disagree with this. I had never heard anyone being called monkey/gorilla before (although my mom called me monkey as a kid because I loved bananas) and then I found out after researching that it is very racist. The only thing I disagree with is that someone wouldn't call a white person a rat. Depending on context (since I didn't know it was a racist term), people get called rats for snitching or "double crossing", etc. That is my only small issue with what you had said but I totally agree with what you said.
he never addressed it. I witnessed it with my own eyes. Jackie made a statement on Twitter and physically @ ‘d him. He never addressed it. He went on later to say to a FAN, not even publicly on his Twitter so everyone could see, that the screenshots calling her that slur were “fake”. That man rotten to the core. I pity him because if he had taken therapy for all his issues, he would not be this way and he wouldn’t be SUCH a toxic force affecting the lives of others.
Seems like lots of stans have a hard time understanding that Having inclusive shade ranges and not being racist are not mutually exclusive. You can be inclusive purely as a business decision and it can have nothing do with how you carry yourself personally. Using POC in your advertisements as a PR move does not mean you yourself are not racist. The personal growth is lacking... there’s nothing to show for it.
Yeah he is literally just using it and exploiting it because it is favourable for business and will make him more money. Same reason his makeup is vegan whilst he vainly spends hundreds of thousands on fur and leather. It enables him to pretend he is some kind of ally to black people and that is enough for his cult to believe he's a good person. It's completely performative and fake and he doesn't give a single shit.
in my opinion having a wide shade range isn’t something to be praised for, because it literally should be a basic standard that everyone should have their shade accessible
it's so revolting that he would speak about BLM while not even taking the time to link petitions/fundraisers etc in the description, or make the entire upload a fundraiser where the money from ads is donated to BLM, if he is going to claim that that's what is truly important. if he actually felt that passionately about the entire movement then he would be regularly posting about it and standing up and speaking out bc he is somebody with a platform and influence. the whole thing is so obviously performative and to see ppl still stand up for him makes me sick. it really makes me believe that all of these ppl are actually way more okay with racism then they are letting on and that's why they continue to stand by him. also he literally never addressed any of the specific allegations against him so ANYways. edit: lol i commented this before watching and hannah is saying the same thing woops
I was soooo mad about that. Selling dark foundation so you can profit off of more people by making them think you're an inclusive brand doesn't mean you can't be privately racist.
I'll never get over how he constantly talks about how inclusive his shade range is, like that's just a smart business tactic. You can still be racist and have an inclusive shade range BECAUSE ITS A BUSINESS.
Exactly, his brand is vegan yet all his purses are made out of animal skins. He shamed Trisha for her weight and nikkietutorials but supports “all sizes”
This is a much better argument then the comments I read about him having shades that don’t work for black women (they saw other YTers try his products and the color didn’t even for them). I have a medium olive skin and I have such a hard time time matching my skin color. Hopefully we’ll add more green undertones than peach (do ppl really have peach undertones, they must bc it’s so popular), but I buy yellow and green correctors, I doctor it to work. I can’t expect ever company to make a shade just for me. But, saying you have an inclusive shade range is exactly your point, a good business idea. Before Fenty set the standard in 2017, maybe it would have said st about him caring for ppl of color if he came out with base products with a range. But by the time he came out with base products if you didn’t come out with inclusive range he’d of gotten shit for it. Less ppl to buy his products.
Well first of all, his "inclusivity" doesn't actually work for most people of color that buy his stuff. He clearly doesn't try as hard on those formulas. Kinda speaks for itself.
@@maddied8651 The vegan and cruelty free makeup thing while owning leather bags thing I understand. Vegan makeup can be just as good as non-vegan makeup, but faux leather still isn't of the same quality as real leather. My faux leather bags that are years old are slowly losing parts of the handles, while the handles of my real leather bags that are years old still look great.
We all know that if Tati hadn’t called him out saying he was gonna take everyone down, he would have done it. This, to me, was an “I’m gonna prove you wrong because I’m the bigger person” video. He’s full of it.
Smart on her part. To some degree, she put him under the microscope and probably unintentionally shielded other beauty gurus from his wrath lol. She knew what she was doing there lol
Yuup. Say what you will about tati but honestly pre warning everyone was the best choice. Either she lays the ground work/sets the stage for the public to be prepared to hear negative things about the gurus they like and makes it easier to forgive them in the long run OR she backs jeffree into the corner of not revealing things to be vindictive (like he usually would) bc now he'll look worse for doing so.
Yes, but..... I don’t think he’ll be quiet forever. He needs to be the centre of attention. He’s quiet now for appearances. But as soon as the drama dies down the info will start to leak.
"I'm ready to open a new chapter" How many chapters does one person need to open. Chapter one: racism and being horrible Chapter two: racism and being horrible Chapter three: racism and being horrible Chapter four: racism and being a horrible, terrible person Chapter five: who wants to guess what's next?
I think he is one of those persons who - when mad - uses things he knows hurt this person the most, like race, body, sexuality, insecurities.. people like that are just toxic and i would never have someone like him in my life or circle of friends.. but maybe that happened to him often in his life and thats why he became such a mean person.. idk, its a shame, he could have been a very interesting, fun beauty guru..
film editor here!!! when he says “Elijah McClain”, you can tell he re-recorded the name because the reverb/room tone changes. it’s possible he just stumbled on the word but I doubt it. It’s just proof of his performative allyship and literally using the BLM movement to deflect and not take responsibility for his actions
Thank you! That whole part was so insincere. Really pissed me off. He's as racist as racists come and now wants to use BLM to gain something for himself? That's beyond gross
Lmao “if Shane and I can become millionaires despite being awful people publicly doing horrible things then you can too” thanks Jeff, you’re so damn inspiring.
As a black woman his apology is definitely not accepted! I have never purchased any of his products but my daughter and her friends have but after a long talk with them they will no longer purchase his products and they are spreading the word to friends of friends Keep up the good work
I just want to tell you that I am standing in solidarity with you and will never purchase from him again. Edit: This has been a topic of conversation with my family and friends and they feel the same and are spreading the word. I will not fund a racist.
Claiming that he’s has been the loudest and longest advocates for a wider shade range is racist, point blank period. It is racist to erases all the Black women in makeup who have been trying to be heard and seen before he started acting like the watchdog of shade ranges. The first instance he has publicly calling out brands for narrow shade ranges are when he owned his own cosmetic company, therefor it’s profitable to him to criticize other brands and profitable to position himself as “woke.” This further proves my suspicions that him getting on the bandwagon to rag on Beauty Blenders foundation line and onward is not him being a true ally, but a convenient one. And one that weaponizes their past “allyship” to shield themselves from criticism
Some of his palette's are not even that PoC friendly - for example Blue Blood has no transition shades for deeper skin tones, there's just that pale beige that barely even shows up on my pasty white face. Cremated looks like it might be even worse. Advocate for inclusiveness my ass.
not rlly racist but he’s definitely in the wrong saying that. It negates others hard work but just bc it’s the hard work of the female black community it’s not racist. He didn’t say that bc he’s racist. He said it bc he’s prideful.
@@kylebenoit787 I'd like to push back on that idea. It's not so much a "he said abc or did xyz, because he's racist" but "this action he did is racist and it's racist because it discredits Black women's work and whitewashes reality to suit and uplift his narrative and image." Def agree it's out of pride, but the action itself is harmful, doesn't matter the intention
sarahissomewhere But you see that’s not what racist means. Racist means actions done based on prejudice. That isn’t an action based on prejudice so it’s not racist. Ppl nowadays don’t get this and it’s why they’re calling everyone racist (not that racism isn’t still an issue today).
I had to legit teach my bf that saying "i'm sorry you feel that way" or "I'm sorry what I said hurt you" is NOOTTTT an apology because it shifts blame to the person who is offended/hurt.
@Day &Night no it definitely did not sound sincere. It sounded stale and he wasn't actually looking at the camera. Tati at least gave the disclaimer that she was reading an approved statement.
I hate the way Jeffree interviews himself. In every single 'apology' he does he asks and answers his own questions. It's just another way for him to downplay the awful things he's done.
It’s narrative control. By interviewing himself, he can downplay his actions bc if he were to be interviewed on his actions by someone else, he would fumble and fail bc he’s no longer in control. His core issue is that he’s a toxic control freak.
"I'm the best voice, the loudest voice, the best friend and ally to Black people, everyone says so, ask anyone, I'm louder and better than anyone else on this and everyone knows it. Anyone saying otherwise is fake news, lying, entirely false, and I know because I'm the smartest and best at knowing these kinds of things." - Donald Tru- I mean Jeffree Star
KaylasKush he’s not getting “hate”. He had a platform and is facing the consequences of abusing his position of power against others. We make mistakes but he’s glossing over his and hasn’t taken any actions in the past or present to change his behaviour.
and when he starts talking about him being “human” and that he “of course makes mistakes”- jeffree, baby, there’s a difference between making mistakes and making THE SAME mistakes. it’s what we call a pattern & it contributes to your personality traits.
Blessing Marie what really set me off was the fucking pose he hit after every sentence about it like he’s posing for Vanity Fair For Racists and Pedophiles
It’s ironic for these influencers to mention there being “bigger issues in the world.” Like yeah, issues such as racism, which they took part in; issues such as misogyny, which Jeffree and others are quite familiar with; issues such as a global pandemic, which they are ignoring. Who are these narcissistic fools to lecture us about bigger issues in the world??
Antony M YES!! These guys really convinced themselves they aren’t a part of the problem. They like... are the problem Shane nearly single handedly made a whole new generation of people think that racist behavior and blackface is okay if it’s “just for humour.” If he didn’t exist i don’t think we would be having such a hard time convincing other young people to be anti racist
The fact that he even brought up Breonna Taylor and Elijah McClain during his apology just to deflect from his drama is disgusting to me. How dare you use their names to benefit you. I also definitely saw it as performative and deflection like you did. He just wants it to be over with without actually taking any accountability.
I think he brought up their names because people were upset that Tati didn’t mention BLM in her video. I think it was performative of him to say their names.
Cass Dummie for sure. it was completely performative. i speculate that the cut in between names was because he actually doesn’t know who any of them are.
he also edited himself when he says "Elijah McClain" you can see it because of how his mouth moves and the audio is slightly different. He didn't even know how to pronounce his name.
What Jeffree said means more than Shane and Tati. At least he didn't place blame, play victim or fill his apology full of crap. They all HAD to publicly apologize and his was the only one that was straight to the point. He's not going to apologize for something he knows is true. Shane and Tati never said they were sorry for lying. They only said sorry for how they exposed James. Would you rather have an apology filled with someone playing the victim, placing blame and a bunch of random facts or would you rather someone say "sorry I have no excuses". Jeffree isn't going to pretend like he doesn't know what he knows and Shane didn't either. Tati on the other hand just blamed her grown 40 year old adult actions on other people. It was pathetic which is why I don't believe her ONE BIT! she was the most confident in what she said. She said "you know I know and we talked privately" and now she's like "Jeffree told me all lies". She is hands down a lier.
it made my blood boil. if he actually cared about blm and the current situations, he would have made a whole separate video talking about it & sharing links to petitions, memorial funds, text threads, etc. & dedicating his social media platforms to speak on the matter as well
Jeffree literally does not care about this and he keeps on deflecting away from the situation instead of taking accountability for what he did. What he has done speaks volumes. And the way he included BLM in the video rubbed me the wrong way as it does not seem like it should been in this video. It disgusted me.
why more and more do i think that it will never be enough as long as you think it won't be enough. first people said they should apologise but without bringing up stupid excuses, and now that he does... he straight up admits it was entirely his fault and that there is no excuse... and it's still not enough... like, if you don't want him in the platform anymore,,, why not just take away the most important things from an influencer... THE ATTETION YOU GIVE THEM. why don't people learn to stop giving attention to people that do not deserve. they still feed off from his name and make videos and mention him. influencers literally live off of traffic and attention, and that's exactly the thing you are giving them! there are nothing more final and louder than literally ignore these shit heads. you don't want accountability you just want to get on a high horse.
It’s clear he doesn’t care about the BLM movement and is using it as deflection when he can’t even get the audio right when saying Elijah McClain’s name. The only part of the video that he had to dub over
I remember Rihana made a makeup bran and it was really hyped up because it had a bunch of shades for skin tones. It was really weird to hear Jeffree saying he was the first to be super inclusive with makeup and such like- wow.
Lol right he literally stole her blueprint like a lot of other brands did. the sad part is they only did it to boost sales unlike Rihanna’s reasoning behind her inclusive products
Not defending Jeffree here but to be fair, his company came out in 2014 & Rihana launched Fenty Beauty in 2017 so he was actually the 1st as far as that's concerned. Not that that excuses his behavior .
Jaime Bachie Beck the difference is his company came out in 2014 but his concealers were last year. He’s hasn’t been making inclusive makeup for 6 years. Fenty has been since its beginning.
It pisses me off when he talks about how inclusive he is when black creators and black makeup influencers have TALKED ABOUT HOW WHAT HE MAKES ISNT GOOD FOR THEM!! There’s so many videos of people trying his stuff and it doesn’t work for their skin color
@@Wonnygurl12 elsewhere DEFINITELY better. There are channels where black women try makeup, definitely definitely recommend those over his stuff as a default

I think he literally just went to Tati's video comments and saw what people were complaining about and just brought it up so that he could get that support. "I should have picked up a phone and called" "There are more important things"
He threatened, he gaslit, he evaded, he manipulated, he said he'd never been to jail (who asked?), and he pledged his undying love for Shane Dawson. Blugh. Excellent post, Lady!
Funny, there's a video of him saying he's been arrested multiple times. He lies about everything, even when there's video of him saying the opposite. I don't get it
Yeah when he said hes never done anything illegal I was just to myself yeah right. Most ppl have broken the law at least once whether its speeding or drinking/smoking underage, or drug use. Everyone has done something mildly illegal at least once lol if your an adult anyway
As a black woman I ABSOLUTELY AGREE with what you said about his "I was the 1st and loudest" comment, it was gross and fake af. He HAS to know Black folks, Black women specifically, have been vocalizing and bringing up this for DECADES so he's so full of B.S. Jackie Aina was the first big youtuber to CONTINUOUSLY and vocally speak up on this every time (She was on YT before Nyma and other Black youtubers that spoke up) and he called her a gorilla and other nasty stuff so of COURSE he would take credit, many white youtubers, including him, ONLY STARTED SPEAKING UP RECENTLY....
@@luciferfaust people of colour can't use the entire palette. Like if you buy a j* palette you can only use half of the shade. So you pay full price and can only use 50% of it
@@palesarox13 I'm very white and I don't think I could use most of cremated. I can't use half of blue blood very well either. Some shades need to be on top of a darker color to show up on me.
Lucifer Faust see that highlights how his palettes aren’t inclusive as someone that is very pale you struggle to use the palettes and just think about how dark skinned people feel when they are manipulated into thinking that he specifically cares about the inclusivity of dark skinned women and then his palettes don’t work for them
The fact that he spent more time talking about his company and LITERALLY plugged a upcoming launch, then speaking about anything else, really REALLY shows that money is the only thing that matters to him!!!!
If anyone makes an apology then puts in a product or a promotion then it’s no longer an apology in my opinion. It’s not an apology if the intention is to deflect and promote. He literally could’ve left it in the drafts and promote his shit silently on his cosmetics instagram.
For anyone wanting to look into whether Tati has filed a lawsuit against Shane & Jeffree or if any other lawsuits have been filed around this whole situation, there’s a public database called PACER (Public Access to Court Electronic Records) where the American public can access all documents that have been filed in lawsuits in America. If they have filed a lawsuit or pursued legal action, we would be able to find it there by looking up their names as the plaintiff or defendant. These are public documents so any members of the public in America can access them. Just wanted to throw that out there for anyone curious.
I was surprised. I thought he would do exactly like Tati said he would. And I bet a lot of people were expecting that too. What I was sure of is that if he did something different, then people would find ways to be unhappy about that too, which they are so from that front I'm not surprised.
Hyungnim Mean-Seok i think what they mean is that nobody is surprised about the fact that he took 0 genuine accountability & just disappointed everyone again.
I so agree with you...I think this was a strategic business decision. Last time he "apologized" didn't he release Blue Blood right after? He is about to release another collection so it was definitely a PR move.
When his Cremated collection dropped, he did say he's also having a summer collection (but he did just have/is about to have some lip liners drop) so it's 110% because he has something new to sell. Snooze.
@@reistellae yes he is 100% virtue signaling. Look how mature and great I am. I took "responsibility" for what I did wrong! Which was everything!! And to top it off using the emotionality of the BLM and the virus to gain sympathy points with his stans. Wanna bet he drops his collection the first part of August?
That was me too! Lol. If she hadn’t mentioned her eye was red, I wouldn’t have even noticed but maybe I’m just easily distracted by sparkly shiny things.
The thing is, he has all this dirt on everybody including his “friends” and uses it to threaten people, so if his friends and acquaintances can’t even trust him, how are we supposed to?
I think the dirt ppl have on him or that he has done is WAY bigger than what he could have on ppl. Like really I bet it is not that bad. what could he possibly have, personal things that have happened to people, if he is using that as blackmail then he is beyond help and a truly vile person. I know he does not like himself but does not seem to care. So sad. He will live a short horrible life, truly alone
I think that he used that story to big-note himself. I think he created a tough ‘persona’ that was built on lies and half truths. I doubt he actually has that much info on people.
You're not...No matter who it is, on the internet or RL, you trust NO BODY....ESPECIALLY on the internet, that's the NUMBER ONE rule of the internet...Trust no one.
About that "I'm opening up a new chapter in my life" line he spouts News flash Jeffrey, chapters are linked. You can't ignore one chapter in favor of another
It’s interesting to note that he uses a lot of passive voice as opposed to active voice. Active voice requires specificity and personal accountably, both something his statement lacked. Linguistic choices matter here.
His apology was for his stans. So they can continue to support him and say "he did apologise" and they can convince themselves that he's not a racist and misogynist and an all round horrible person. He's got products coming out and he needs to sell them. That's all. He should have kept BLM, Breonna and Elijah out of his mouth. He used them as a shield as he uses everyone else. He says that he's part of the problem and wants to be the solution. He's not part of the problem, he is the problem. No other guru behaves the way he does. Again, he was in a dark place & is now a new person, again.
The way he just shoehorned in the BLM movement was just pure evil, it made me sick. I cannot understand how anyone can watch his ‘apology’ and forgive him.
"I won't be exposing anyone because that's not meeeee" "but I might orchestrate something behind the scenes so that it happens anyway and I can pretend it wasn't me" IS LITERALLY WHY WE ARE HERE Having it be LAWYERS instead of Tati is NOT AN IMPROVEMENT MY DUDE
So weird take. Under a just system Jeffree star obviously is an awful person and everything he's ever done is bad. What he's doing though is following the system wealthy people set up. You destroy others, lie cheat and steal, then when you're discovered to be doing that, you make some paltry gesture of solidarity and pretend you're a victim too.
@Mary Ray fully agreed and I've never purchased anything from js. Actually following through on punishing these types is hard to do en masse because most people don't actually care enough to even feel the slightest bit of food let alone take action
Carolina González I’m sure Tati has receipts on Jeffree being behind By Sister that will help James in his lawsuit. Also he can’t sue Tati because she didn’t lie she stated events she saw, Jeffree lied and said James was a predator and threat to society with no proof and isn’t true which is defamation
8:00 Right!!! Let’s NOT forget how Rihanna a BLACK WOMAN changed the makeup game with coming out with over 40 shades of foundation. That shook the makeup game and a lot of other makeup brands had to come correct after that! Boom 💥!
Fenty is the reason why other makeup brands started to widen their range, though they were for capital reasons why Rihanna actually did it for inclusive reasons 👸👸🏾
Honestly I most often hate the “there are more important things” argument. Of course more often than not there are bigger issues that need attention, but that doesn’t mean what you’re doing doesn’t matter, that doesn’t mean there are smaller issues that aren’t important along with the bigger ones. Like you said, deflection
slightly flexing his little mansion + deflecting from the actual issue w disingenuous mentioning of current social issues + plugging his company and future releases = a Jebediah Scuttlefish non apology 😌
I know right? He looked like a Versace ad. A grey hoodie on the kitchen floor would have been disingenuous but that was over the top. He could have done it in his office or at least _tried_ to look humble.
I love how this wonderful woman apologizes for something as simple as having a red eye. Meanwhile joffrey starburst cant be bothered making an actual apology
The fact that your apology about your eye seemed more sincere than Jafar's entire video is very telling to me

That's basically all he says. Saved a lot of people time from watching it lol
This deserves so much more. The accuracy...it’s astonishing.
i heard him say 'Breonna Taylor' and i gagged. it ain't just a trend to jump on sis, this ain't it
That was a new low, even for Jafar Streptococcus
I knew right away people were going to be so impressed, too.
I clicked off at that point.
He’s so fake.
and not even a goddamn link to donate or action step to be taken - just used it to deflect as usual. he’s a joke
- “I’ve never committed a crime”
- “I used to shoplift makeup a few years ago”
- “I’ve never blackmailed anyone”
- “I have dirt on everyone. And they know to keep their mouths shut.”
- "I haven't seen ANYTHING going on on social media"
- Was liking posts from July 1-18
- “Ive been doing a lot of self reflecting”
- has been out shopping, making UA-cam videos with other people, meeting fans, hanging out with Black Chyna, not social distancing and not seen wearing a mask.
Does he do anything but lie?
And his fans are like " Youre so mature! So proud of you!"
Expect a new JS face mask to be appearing soon.
- “I am inclusive of all body shapes and sizes” - *body shames Trisha Paytas*
Even if he really didn't commit crimes in his past, why bring that up? What's the point of that? So many things in his "apology" made me think: "Why? WHY did you say that? What's the point?"
I'm also going to echo Peter Monn in saying that Jeffree saying he always featured black people in his ads and made his makeup line shade inclusive was like saying "I have a black friend."
LOUDER 🗣🗣🗣
People: You displayed a pattern of aggressively racist behaviour to POC
Jeffree: *proceeds to use a black woman - a victim of police brutality to shield himself from criticism*
That's so disgusting of him🤢
And the worst part is it freaking worked!! People are all over sm singing his praises that he changed because he said BLM. Like. Yikes
It’s disgusting because the same black folks are saying how performative and repulsive by mention the lives of black people who he himself would have been racist too is gross

Sis just apologized cause he’s gonna start posting his next drop. 🤮
Gives off the same vibe as Kat Von D’s apology
Why is that whenever we call out someone, they always tell us to worry about “bigger issues”, as if we can’t worry about BLM and problematic people. Multitasking must not be a strong suit for influencers.
And they were real crimes involving him. He worked and toured with a predator, Dahvie Vanity, Jeffree did nothing to help the victims.
Seems like there’s only room for one thought at a time for these people. Can they even eat or drink while thinking about problems or is that too overwhelming for them? 🤔
At least they have a strong suit in lying and manipulation. 🤣
“He has more than nine lives and cats are jealous of him”
Could not agree more.
I choked on my coffee. That part was hilarious.
He’s got them horcruxes
XxPiRoXxX he is Voldemort, cold and evil🤡
Voldemort had more of a spine, he didn't pretend to be anything but evil. He straight up presented himself as what he was, he didn't pretend to be the victim, or the defender of the down trodden. Jeffree is actual trash.
I am so disappointed in myself that I let myself be manipulated by Shane's original docu-series on J*. I genuinely thought he had changed based on that series...I was wrong. It feels gross to know how manipulative it all was.
Same. I'm embarrassed that I ever fell for it🤦🏾♀️
Me too, I judged myself for that
@@lydia5286 don't be too hard on yourself, Shane handcrafted that video to make you feel that way. that whole series was just a long form PR stunt after J* got exposed for being a racist.

Absolutely... The definition of a SHAMELESS PLUG
Literally after shamelessly put in BLM in his narrative, “guys I have a new launch are you excited?”
When a video about everything wrong with the apology is longer than the actual apology. Speaks volumes.

When it’s THREE TIMES as long... 😳😳 that’s how you know there’s a problem😐
Dude for real! I never clicked on a video quicker than I did his “apology.” He’s so manipulative. I’m extremely happy my 15 year old daughter doesn’t like him and now doesn’t like Shane. These people are ridiculous.
Don't believe he should have done a really long video but, this WAS AWFUL
Becks Woof what part of his apology seemed genuine to you? Half of it was a damned promo. He used BLM to distract from HIS mistakes. That is absolutely disgusting.
A mistake made repeatedly is no longer a mistake- it is a conscious choice.
You are either literally insane or you just don't care.
The point is.. if you stump your toes you’ll avoid getting to close to the table again. He’s not learning from his mistakes. It’s a good analogy
Julieta Vazquez not sure how that relates to my comment. But thanks!

Agreed, all I could look at was the marble velvet couch and how huge it was and that they'd need a actual truck to move it lol
Remember, he has a bathrobe. Like he just woke up and come up with an apology. 😜 In reality, it was the whole PR team that came up with it.
The mansion is pretty terrible looking on the inside too. They grandma couch was disgusting
@@dsocialized6356 I laughed at the idea of him forcing those assistants to move the couch infront of the passageway to get the stairwells in shot.
I think the first thing that made me realize the apology wasn’t going to be genuine was the location of the video. He shot the video on his gold flashy couch, with his double staircase in the background and his nicest robe on. It just came off as odd and an unnecessary power move.
Would it have been more sincere if he was squatting in a dirty alley? Lol
Skyprincess 1995 use that pea brain of your you know that’s not what she means

Agreed the second I clicked on the video and saw the whole shot I immediately called BS...totally flexing and being condescending to his own viewers. Smh
The way he brought up black folks who have been killed to deflect. Like hearing those names come out of his mouth enraged me to a point I have rarely experienced.
Me, too. That was low, even for Jafar
It literally made me sick
Isabella G the difference is jeffree has contributed quite a bit to racism. Has acted really questionable towards POC specially black women. There’s also recent allegations that came out about him and how he treated cam lester, the vegas thing where an ex friend of his said he would use racial slurs etc... but didnt take the time to address any of those.. instead chose to divert and use it for his own benefit and on the same video mention that he is coming out with new products next month.. i cant. only the willing will not see through this BS

This! Definitely. I didn’t watch the video cause I didn’t want to give another view (not that it’d make a difference) and didn’t waste my time, but I heard he mentioned at the end that he has stuff coming out.
YES. I said exactly that when I heard him say it. He doesn’t care. He just needs good press

Don’t forget such a narcissist!
He's a classic bully: dishes it out but can't take it himself.
He's a classic narcissist too.

"Have you heard of Jackie Aina?"
Yea. He called her a rat. And a gorilla. He called a black creator a gorilla. I don't ever remember him apologizing or even addressing this at all. Ever.
Totally f*ked up.
@@manziejeanne OP is saying that Jeffree never called white people animalistic traits when he had beef with them
he never addressed it.
He never did and please acknowledge that shit is RACIST. Never apologized for racist behavior
THIS
👏👏👏 *yes*
Yeah he is literally just using it and exploiting it because it is favourable for business and will make him more money. Same reason his makeup is vegan whilst he vainly spends hundreds of thousands on fur and leather. It enables him to pretend he is some kind of ally to black people and that is enough for his cult to believe he's a good person. It's completely performative and fake and he doesn't give a single shit.
EXACTLY
in my opinion having a wide shade range isn’t something to be praised for, because it literally should be a basic standard that everyone should have their shade accessible
Jeffree: “I haven’t clicked a video, nothing” also Jeffree: makes a direct quote from Tati’s video 😂 it was a lie from the start.
How dare he turn an “apology” into an ad for his beauty brand and use BLM to pretend his actions don’t actually matter.
Exactly
I really hate when people use BLM as some type of publicity stunt and they think they can use BLM to save their problematic ASS.Disgusting.
it's so revolting that he would speak about BLM while not even taking the time to link petitions/fundraisers etc in the description, or make the entire upload a fundraiser where the money from ads is donated to BLM, if he is going to claim that that's what is truly important. if he actually felt that passionately about the entire movement then he would be regularly posting about it and standing up and speaking out bc he is somebody with a platform and influence. the whole thing is so obviously performative and to see ppl still stand up for him makes me sick. it really makes me believe that all of these ppl are actually way more okay with racism then they are letting on and that's why they continue to stand by him. also he literally never addressed any of the specific allegations against him so ANYways.

I'll never get over how he constantly talks about how inclusive his shade range is, like that's just a smart business tactic. You can still be racist and have an inclusive shade range BECAUSE ITS A BUSINESS.
exactly lol you don't deserve praise for having all the appropriate shade ranges that's literally the bare fucking minimum.
Yuup. Say what you will about tati but honestly pre warning everyone was the best choice. Yes, but..... I don’t think he’ll be quiet forever. He needs to be the centre of attention. He’s quiet now for appearances. But as soon as the drama dies down the info will start to leak.

Kyle Benoit Why isn’t it an action based on prejudice?
Jeffree: I’m sorry... Actual translation: I’m sorry you feelthat way
Google translate Finally work Good
more like: "I'm sorry you found out stuff about me and probably won't support me & my brand... But first, let's talk about BLM and how woke I am!"
Actual translation: lol i'm not even sorry, i'm just saying all this stuff bcuz i'm launching a new collection on august
I had to legit teach my bf that saying "i'm sorry you feel that way" or "I'm sorry what I said hurt you" is NOOTTTT an apology because it shifts blame to the person who is offended/hurt.
Pierre XO made resume on the 'apology' video:
ua-cam.com/video/MLCk1-VTEPU/v-deo.html
Dude, his “apology” gave off “I’ve memorized my PowerPoint presentation and am going through it for the 100th time” energy.
And he didn't even do properly 😂
Factss
@Day &Night no it definitely did not sound sincere. It sounded stale and he wasn't actually looking at the camera. Tati at least gave the disclaimer that she was reading an approved statement.
It was literally that. “Here’s my senior project, guys.”
@Day &Night both were bullshit, at least Tati said it was approved by lawyers lol (still rotten tho)
I hate the way Jeffree interviews himself. In every single 'apology' he does he asks and answers his own questions. It's just another way for him to downplay the awful things he's done.
Afiyah James lmao it was extra apparent during his Chris Hansen “ interview”
Same as Shane’s use of rhetorical questions !!
shane dawson teas
It's the same trick like from Zootopia lol
It’s narrative control. By interviewing himself, he can downplay his actions bc if he were to be interviewed on his actions by someone else, he would fumble and fail bc he’s no longer in control. His core issue is that he’s a toxic control freak.
Jefree just said “worry about the real things happening Blm and Racism” like as if he doesn’t think ppl hold him accountable for being racist.

What do these two have in common? Malignant narcissism.

Most of his stuff doesn't look good on anyone. Especially that mouldy looking Conspiracy palette.

The conspiracy palette looks fine on me
I hate how he just sat on his gold couch like it was normal. Dude why
@Fuert Neigt no one has been able to formulate a credible argument in favor of that opinion. We'll see what happens.
@Fuert Neigt bro hes not what has he done
I hate that he kept saying “of course I messed up” like we were stupid to believe he wouldnt
Yeah. We ARE stupid to believe humans don’t fuck up constantly. The only reason he gets hate for it is because it’s in the spotlight.
KaylasKush but not every human is a manipulative, hateful person.
@@kylaszone Ugh no.
KaylasKush he’s not getting “hate”. He had a platform and is facing the consequences of abusing his position of power against others. We make mistakes but he’s glossing over his and hasn’t taken any actions in the past or present to change his behaviour.

“You guys should be focusing on the Black Lives Matter movement”
He really thinks police brutality started with George Floyd 😂
Said the same thing in my video - we can multitask baby! The deflection was out of this world
Blessing Marie what really set me off was the fucking pose he hit after every sentence about it like he’s posing for Vanity Fair For Racists and Pedophiles
Antony M that’s always the funny part
Antony M YES!! These guys really convinced themselves they aren’t a part of the problem. They like... are the problem
Shane nearly single handedly made a whole new generation of people think that racist behavior and blackface is okay if it’s “just for humour.” If he didn’t exist i don’t think we would be having such a hard time convincing other young people to be anti racist
He's trying to use black people and real, serious issues to make himself look better. That's so so so bad.
he also edited himself when he says "Elijah McClain" you can see it because of how his mouth moves and the audio is slightly different. He didn't even know how to pronounce his name.
Jeffree after the camera turned off: “you think they bought it?”
😂
Also JS unbending his legs, ouch! His sitting like that looked so painful.
@@tayjay1164 with no pulse how can he cramp?
aaaand SCENE!
When he mentioned Breonna I straight up lost it 😷🤦🏿♀️🤡
same, I physically rolled my eyes 😒
the clownery!!!!!!
JJ the whole circus*
it made my blood boil. if he actually cared about blm and the current situations, he would have made a whole separate video talking about it & sharing links to petitions, memorial funds, text threads, etc. & dedicating his social media platforms to speak on the matter as well
I fucking yelled “are you kidding me” when he did that
Okay I’m sorry but Jeffree Star is literally the Donald Trump of UA-cam.
You ain’t told a lie!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of this.
He lies.
He refuses to take accountability properly.
He doesn't make things clear, apparently.
Sadly a lot of people are supporting Trump....even though he's soo trashy
Celeste Citrine yup and it’s the same with Jeffree 🤦♀️ racists flock to racists I suppose
In pure arrogance yes but Donald Trump wishes he was as financially successful as Jafar
He had SO LONG to work on this and it was still SO BAD. It just goes to show that he doesn't get it.
he's a loser so 😶 lmao
I don't think he ever cared.🤷♀️
I feel like he just knows he can't do anything
He gets it...he just doesn’t care.
It really sounded like he was making it up as he went along because he said the same thing 3 times
The only part of the video that he had to dub over
It's like the Jake Paul tweet about him looting and trying to deflect from that by mentioning George Floyd.
and he didn't even put blm petition/resource links in the description lmaoo
@@mayazhan2369 oh jesus gross...
And that ashy ass pallet ain’t inclusive 🤣
I would say mac has always had a bajillion shades. They just oxidized though.
Jeffree star only apologized because Morphe dropped his brand. You can't change my mind.
We don’t need to sis
True
It pisses me off when he talks about how inclusive he is when black creators and black makeup influencers have TALKED ABOUT HOW WHAT HE MAKES ISNT GOOD FOR THEM!! There’s so many videos of people trying his stuff and it doesn’t work for their skin color
That’s like saying I’m not racist I have a black friend.
Didn’t he call Jackie aina an animal on Twitter leik...
How does it not work? Is there not enough colours for darker shades? I was gonna buy some for a friend but I think elsewhere will be better.

I absolutely agree. I completely think that's what he did.
100%
Also about the blackmail and how he “gave up” on Shane
He threatened, he gaslit, he evaded, he manipulated, he said he'd never been to jail (who asked?), and he pledged his undying love for Shane Dawson. Blugh. Excellent post, Lady!

All behaviors of narcissistic personality disorder.
When he said he’s never committed crimes and never been to jail. Like?? You can commit a crime without having ended up in jail
I think he said he’d never lied and we know THATS not true

Still waiting for his public apology to Mrs. Jackie Aina.....*crickets* He is the worst.

I did not know how called a fellow member of the Beauty community a "gorilla." He is so shameless and disgusting
The fact he praised himself for “talking about the lack of inclusivity” from brands but still makes ashy palettes that dark skin women can’t use
I don't understand this point. I've seen white people and people of color both wearing his makeup and both looked nice to me. ?
@@luciferfaust people of colour can't use the entire palette. Like if you buy a j* palette you can only use half of the shade. So you pay full price and can only use 50% of it

Lucifer Faust see that highlights how his palettes aren’t inclusive as someone that is very pale you struggle to use the palettes and just think about how dark skinned people feel when they are manipulated into thinking that he specifically cares about the inclusivity of dark skinned women and then his palettes don’t work for them
Can we talk about the "All Beauty Matters" comment... Oh my God how just... How insensitive of wording
THIS. I was disgusted.
RIGHT
What else would we expect from a racist
Omg I didn't even clock that, but that's so true!

Excellent!
Raise your hand if you’re surprised
No one? Good
The only thing I'm suprised about was that he said anything. Definitely not suprised that what his said was bullshit.
I was surprised. I thought he would do exactly like Tati said he would. And I bet a lot of people were expecting that too. What I was sure of is that if he did something different, then people would find ways to be unhappy about that too, which they are so from that front I'm not surprised.
