Thank you Ant, I hope that all is well with you and that the world of taxi driving is treating you well .
another great vid stephen..when your a teessider( thornaby and lived in middlesbrough) lad whos lived on the south coast since 1998..these memories and vids help me a lot..as i took it for granted living off ayresome for a for a few years..i really miss ayresome park and the boro/thornaby i grew up with...makes my blood boil the vast streets and grade 1 and 2 buildings they bull dozed in the 70s/80s to make way for shit what looks like its falling apart now...that old cleveland art college on union street i went to for a few days in about 1994..i absolutely loved it..cant believe thats gone aswell...so much as gone for me its upsetting if i visit as im still see it as it was in 1992 or something...like ayresome park..union street, the old pubs(westminster, the speedway, the acklam etc) not only there but thornaby flats and town centre, stockton riverside...u think these vids are an honour to those immigrants/early settlers who im a distant relative of our thornaby irish immigrants who helped shaped the teesside that we are so proud of...so sad that almost the entire area of st hildas has gone..all that history and hard graft...now just empty wastelands of grass and tarmac..where the ghosts of yesterday sadly are a memory...brilliant tributes and vids stephen..
thank you for that ☺️
Thanks Stephen, great pics, though much change.
You're welcome Stewart 👍

Excellent video as usual Stephen, always love your choice of music too!
Thank you, I think the music is important to build an atmosphere for the video.
@@BigMack1959 I agree Stephen, all of your videos are so thought provoking, well done !
@@TheMisscake Yes Julie I hope younger people watching these videos learn from the mistakes made by our town planners.
@@BigMack1959 I hope so too, however I will not hold my breath 🤣
I can remember when going to my nans at Brambles Farm back in the mid 40s on the E bus, passin the spot where the Majestic was, only girder structure stood there as work had been stopped due to the war, some time later the Mejestic was completed,
Was in the Centre yesterday , The town has lost its identity , Our Fathers will be turning in their graves at what the town has become..... Sad to see , Overrun
Ii was in the town centre on Saturday and ir was like a ghost town, I remember when Saturdays in the town centre were always crowded with shoppers. It is sad to see the decliine.
Totally correct.
This town, in fact this country is finished.
Very little good about either.
This town has been subject to architectural, cultural and social vandalism
I'd love to go back to when I was a kid in the 70s
Simpler and better times.
When a strong sense of community and caring for other people pervaded.
