Well, I don't think most Americans will have ever actually eaten boiled crawfish. The only area where they're eaten regularly by "most" people is here in southern Louisiana. Most of the boiled crawfish elsewhere in the U.S. is extremely expensive, poorly cooked, and/or the crawfish are often imported frozen from industrial shellfish farms in China, whereas no respectable seafood restaurant in Louisiana would ever serve boiled crawfish that weren't swimming around a local swamp not long before (no one down here would eat them otherwise). The guy in the video is from Alabama, but he seems to have done a good job by our standards. He did it pretty much how it would be done here... all in a big pot with whole potatoes, corn cobs, sausage, and lots and lots of seasoning. As far as eating the claws, we do absolutely eat the claw meat. Down here, it is also tradition to literally suck the juice out of the head with one's mouth after pulling it off the body! Funny about the separate pot thing... I could probably walk up to anyone down here and ask him if they think crawfish should be killed before being set to boil and they'd probably either scoff or laugh in my face. Haha!
I eat the claws if they're large enough but most of the time I find it's not worth the time it takes. Gotta make sure you eat everything while it's hot!
I've been using this recipe(with some small tweaks) since this video dropped every single year for my family and everyone loves it!! Thank you so much for sharing!

That table omg God Bless America 🤗
Very interesting! I'm fascinated how you Americans boil crawfish, i've noticed alot of Americans don't eat the claws?? Here in Sweden we boil our crawfish in dill, beer, salt, water and onions. And we never kill our crawfish in the pot with the seasoning, we use a separate pot for that :)
Haha!
I want my crawfish's last dying breath of water to be that seasoned boil I dunk them in. That's the best flavor right there boy
I eat the claws if they're large enough but most of the time I find it's not worth the time it takes. Gotta make sure you eat everything while it's hot!
Here in Sweden we mostly eat our crawfish cold. There is a trick on how to get the claw-meat in just a second or two. It's here on UA-cam!
Mr. V basically anywhere in the south you can get good crawdads. I live in Texas, and I’ve been to quite a few good boils myself.
Looks absolutely fantastic! Hope to be able to try some crawfish once covid restrictions lift. Greetings from the tiny islands of Palau!
R & R Seafood is the bomb! They sell oysters by the box and they are DELICIOUS as well!
Hands down , the best recipe I’ve ever used !!!
I've been using this recipe(with some small tweaks) since this video dropped every single year for my family and everyone loves it!! Thank you so much for sharing!
Following this recipe for a crawfish boil that's kicking off in about an hour!! Had the mudbugs shipped to VA from Raceland, LA.
You did such a great job on step by step instructions I've always been kinda intimidated on doing a crawfish boil but your video made it possible and I have to say them were the best dag gone mud bugs I've ever ate. I first tried them as a boy when my uncle was in the coast gaurd down in mobile Alabama and 30 years later I'm making my own thanks for sharing your recipe
I watch them 3 times in the past but for some reason now it’s recommended
I always considered them as baby lobsters. You need about 60-100 to be full on the stomach.
More like 200. There's little to no meat
2 lbs. but some daddys a pretty good sized.
Thats your heartbeat per 1min

Oh my god. Just randomly got this in recommended. Thank you for the video :) it’s like a flash of all my favorite memories.. I miss mobile SO much.... best place I’ve ever lived. There’s nothing like some Alabama crawfish😩 we ate shrimp boils more than we went to the store🤣 I haven’t been able to find seafood like that since I moved.
If I knew I was going to die, this would be the last video I’d like to watch. Something about is so relaxing, so mesmerizing.
Great video man, thanks! TX here, I’ve cooked for small fam gatherings and watched a few. We are big on adding crushed or whole garlic cloves, cut lemons, and sticks of butter or Louisiana Crawfish Boil OIL. Seems to help us from shells sticking to meat. Thanks again, go Longhorns!!
One personal recommendation, if I may humbly suggest one, add pineapple. Tastes amazing with all the seasoning, crawfish juices. Also, halved lemons and split in half entire bulbs of garlic.
MrKernkraft4000 nahh u keep tht recommendation to yourself
Why am I and everyone watching this at 1 am and craving this so badly. Might as well drive down to Alabama and get some practice with ya
