13:30 because stay night was the original and gil was part of it, and zero was a prequel to fill in the blanks of what stay night laid down, it there’s no way he wouldn’t be there.
13:52 illyas dream is supposed to foreshadow the events of stay/night; Once kiritsugu betrayed the einzburn’s by destroying the grail, they rigged illya to become the next lesser grail for the 5th war.
16:42 ironically because of what shirou said right before kiritsugu died from curses, he felt obligated to become a hero of justice; something Emiya( heroic spirit) see’s as something of a curse that was passed town to them.
20:43 it’s standard for mages to only have one child because they can only pass down their magic crest to one person (there’s one known exception from the 3rd war). So from tokoyami’s perspective if he gives Sakura to the matou’s then both his spawn will be able to further magecraft and become talented mages. He’s not inherently hoping they kill each other.

What he has is time alter, a magecraft to adjust the speed of his body. Also 25:00 would be the end of the fight if he didn’t have Avalon preventing him from dying.
This comment detailed asl I appreciate it. And the Illya dream makes a bunch of sense now. I always knew Stay/Night had a version of it that came out in 2006 but I always treated like Zero like first one and having Zero fill in the holes of the original Stay/Night is actually genius
@@VondoOMAnowadays it’s normal for people to have fate/zero or unlimited bladeworks as their first entry. Most don’t recommend the 2006 deen adaptation of stay night because they say its bad. Personally I think it was good for what it was at the time and while there’s some deviations from the visual novel it’s mostly faithful to the VN. My guess is that it’s because once they got spoiled by ufotable there was no going back.
Even with all the animes for stay night there’s still parts that where left out, especially for heavens feel As it prioritized making the fights look good. So if you’re ever invested in going deeper into fate I’d recommend the visual novel for fate/stay night. it makes a big difference on peoples perception of shirou as the animes never bothered to let you know what he’s thinking which is kinda important to understand his actions; The bad ends help flesh out characters and give you a idea of how badly things could have gone.

@@VondoOMA For the most part it's pretty good, though due to the usual constraints dubbing has some lines don't land quite as well (biggest example is Gilgamesh's Enuma Elish sounds way too rushed in the dub)
I mean talking on how berserker was Lancelot. There's a moment in fate/stay night where saber is fighting berserker and she decides to try to kill him quickly saying how he could be a former ally. Which I think just loops back to the previous berserker she fought had been Lancelot a former ally.
Its been some years since I watched stay night. I gotta rewatch it. I know its a lot of connection I missed the first time
that’s wrong, he knows what he desires but is running away from it. Tsiah IV’s “kirei kotomine analysis” vid will show u what his character is really about
Just speaking from what I seen in the show. Ill check it out though im interested in seeing other perspectives
