Super fascinating! I love how affordable this is for people who can't afford a smart home. I also love that this could benefit people with disabilities.
Hey Riser and Frank’s, it’s Greer from Alaska. I stumbled upon y’all’s UA-cam channel, what are the odds. Super glad you guys are still close friends and love the channel. Giving it a follow 👍🏻
This is so awesome! Just a quick one, theoretically speaking, do you need to still break the track on the motor's PCB if you were just to unsolder the wire from the PCB? Is the track on the motor PCB linking anything together?
Wish there was a design out there for 2 shutters per door. The problem i come into is i have two sections with a hinge per side on my plantation shutters. So with this design i wouldnt be able to open and fold the shutters like they are designed to.
Yeah this design was really tailored to my specific blinds type. I have almost completed a new design and build for controlling blinds that should work universally.
@@BlueBotTech any idea when you'll release it? I've been considering ripping all mine out and replacing with roller shades bit may hold off and try new solution
@@BlueBotTech Would love to see the new... I've been trying to figure out the best way to "rehash" your design to work with my shutters (separate upper and lower, center connecting guide). I'd like to control each section separately; looks like this design runs both sides simultaneously. How many motors, for instance, can be controlled with each NodeMCU? (lots of pieces to this puzzle that I'm trying to understand :) ) Thanks, guys!
Hi M Venkatesan, there is a link in the description for our github page for this project feel free to take and use anything! github.com/bluebottech/PlantationBlinds/find/main
Hi, thank you for this type of automation. I have wired up as per your video. Would there be any chance of at least providing a few lines of simple Adruino IDE ESP8266 code to control the blinds via a web commands (e.g., 192.168.x.x/open or 192.168.x.x/close, 192.168.x.x/open-a-bit etc)? For me, its a bit of a hop-skip-and-a-jump to understand home server control of the blinds - basically a time consuming huge learning curve. Additionally, if you want to later, it would really help if you went through your more complex Adruiino code and home server configuration setup step-by-step (I have home server installed, but very new to it).
Amazing, I've always wanted to do this but never expected someone to produce a guide, stumbled upon this by chance. Thanks!

Thanks Kristina! That is a good point!

@@BlueBotTech just following back up to see if you know when you'll release those new designs i'm eager to try out.
@@explosiveenterprises1479 Sorry it should be soon, still optimizing some things.
Where is the 3D STL file?
Hai, very interesting subject. kindly share the 3D printed SKT file or link
