It’s amazing how the second one hears a song it can transport you back 60 years in a flash, now that’s time travel and then back to 25/7/24@ 9-15 pm WOW 👌👌👌👌👌 0:00
Shirley Owens is absolutely beautiful !
Shirley Owens looks absolutely stunning in this video
Another FABULOUS SONG BY THE SHIRELLES ❤️LOVE ALL THEIR SONG’S , THEY ARE ONE OF THE BEST GIRl GROUPS OF THE 60’S🌹🌹🌹🌹😊
Indeed, one of my favorites too
Beautiful Girls Beautiful. Song Shirley Owens ❤❤
The old songs are so charming, I like them a lot.
and seeing them actually perform it live is extra special (without all of that lip synching that was so popular back then). Right?
@@loublackvideo
yes
This is the best ever. Memories of this era enhance the greatness of the original. Nothing ever replaces record hops. NOTHING !
Indeed, most of us were born too late to enjoy this live. Right?
@@loublackvideo Original yes. This is not meant to detract from the modern talents. They are also great. If you hear Hound Dog and it ain’t Elvis ; well ya know what I mean.😁
hermosas ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’ve seen the same video with the recorded version played to it. This is the first time I’ve heard the original broadcast version. They’re fantastic live and in the studio! 👍
Indeed they were
Such a beautiful woman and singer, and so young to be performing in the uk at that time, hope they were well looked after.
I grew up in a rural town in Rhode Island. This meant beautiful forests, clean air and real living.
Beginning at 13, I walked long distances and sometimes hitchhiked to my friend's houses.
Loving music, I always had a tune in my head.
This song stayed in my head the longest...
And we owe it all to Carole King, who co-wrote this song when she was 18
@@loublackvideo Sooooo Right....
@@loublackvideo Shirelles and Ronettes were the all time best of the Girl Groups and Darlene Love who sang with multiple groups
this makes me cry.
臨場感ある音ですね。リードボーカルの人かわいいですね❤
はい、彼女はそうです。 その時代から真のライブパフォーマンス映像を見つけることはまれなので、私は幸運でした。
One of the Absolute Best from the Pride of Passaic NJ.
Priceless live performance
Exactly, a true live performance, unlike the countless fake live performances where folks just lip sync'd with their instruments not being plugged in.
Love Always Just so Wonderful.
Couldn't agree more! Seeing them perform it live without all of the 1960's lip synch stuff is a treat
I miss you my mom
This is wonderful. A live performance in color of this truly classic song by this great group. Carole King, and her co-writer, earned their spot in heaven with this one.
Thank you. True live performance footage is so very hard to find from that era, most of the stuff on tv was lip syncing. A friend of mine in Scotland was one of the attendees at this amazing concert. He encouraged me to colonize all of the performances for him and his friends to watch and relive. I did all of this a few years ago and it took forever to process on my home computer.
@@loublackvideo Thanks for the background. Great job with the colorizing! Also, the cameraman did a good job - except the closeups of the skinny legs and skinny butts was dumb.
The closeups on the legs. Ha ha ha. My father had a habit of filming various panning closeups of lady legs in all of the old family movies. I couldn't quite understand why he did this, at least when I was a child. As an adult, I went back and watch all of the Italian and French movies that my dad would have watched in the 1950's and 1960's, and geez, filming legs was just a thing back then. :)
Hi @@loublackvideo Haha about the legs. Your father was quite a cameraman. To me, this looks better than 95% of live music videos. The closeups of Shirley Owens are wonderful. The colorization is great too. It's such a *paradigmatic* song - the song of young women for thousands of years - long before Dido and Aeneas. ❤
For some reason King's husband is ignored , though he wrote all the lyrics for her songs until they divorced.
"Up On The Roof" is a masterpiece .
oh yes,i recall. the ole friends, the nihjtly rendevous with the local girls listening to these ole songs on that record player. swett bitter memories. linda ,gloria, erc.. love you all,and thanks for the dances.
❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉😊
Bellas, 😊🎉 hermoso tema, mañana, pasado for ever
del año 1963.. andaba yo jugando con muñecas.. imaginate.
Que hermoso SAS Mujeres al 100 porciento
y están disfrutando de su tiempo en el escenario. Cuando veo gente interpretando música, quiero creer que se están divirtiendo.
Thanks for this magic moment! I love it! Thanks a lot!
Thanks for watching. I was lucky to find these rare live performances, but not as lucky as a Scottish friend of mine who attended this actual concert in 1963. Truly lucky, right?
A time, of great Music, & great groups... Thanx for this share!
Glad you enjoyed it. I posted it because it was one of those rare true live performances. Many of those 1960's TV music shows just had performer lip sync to their own music.
Orgienal ist Orgienal und Super👍👍👍🥰🥰🥰🤗🤗🤗💕💕💕
when girl groups wernt manufactured 🤗🤗 aahh just perfect 👏👏👏
Simpler times indeed, although back in those days they were churning out a lot of girl groups to promote the latest songs from the Brill Building in NYC (where Carol King worked). I love how these gals are genuinely enjoying themselves on stage. I have seen many musical acts appear as if they don't enjoy the stage experience or they don't enjoy the company of their fellow bandmates, so these vintage live clips are a pleasure
@@loublackvideo yes your right the girl groups today they arnt authentic and as you said they dont look as though they are really enjoying themselves , i think its because they are mainly controlled a hell of a lot, especialy where their songs and performances are concerned ,they are controlled by their managers and and bosses and the same can be said for the boy bands as well.
Real music, none of that fucking mumble rap, nothing electronic, REAL, MUSIC.
Indeed, and what I love about this particular concert (which also included Little Richard and Jerry Lee Lewis) is that they looked like they were having fun on stage and there to entertain fans
@@loublackvideo Exactly! They’re there for fun!
❤❤❤❤❤
@@loublackvideo ..wow.. Thanks..👍
I once heard a minister rail against what he called the immorality of the words of this song, for about 10 minutes. The thing is, this is really just a description of reality of a part of the human condition. I've seen young guys chase girls, courting them, telling them they love them and promising the earth moon and the stars, to get them in bed. Then, once his need is satisfied, and she may even get pregnant, and she asks him to marry her and be with her for ever and ever, he says, wellllll, nawwww, lets just be friends now, and he ghosts. Seen it more than a few times.
Who messed with the sound quality on this. Needs some fine tuning. Great song, great group.
The audio and video on all of the clips was pretty weak. The audio is the original standard TV mono from a 4th generation copy. I wish I knew how the work audio magic from an old mono TV recording, but that is outside of my skill set (and the audio engineers that I know weren’t interested to helping out on historical audio stuff)
I know theres sum noise about audio not being great but as a guitar player i can hear tht being played clearly on this version yes black n white sounds better but its a treat to see and hear both versions, any1 know where this was played ? Stunning girls ,vocals and lyrics i dare say tht roof is still burning today ❤
Indeed. It is wonderful to see actual live performances from that era, not that lip sync stuff that would later dominate TV. I have some techniques now that I could use to try to enhance the audio, but can be hit or miss. The original footage was probably captured via a kinescope and copied repeatedly from video tape to video tape. The first-generation tape was lost decades ago.
Any idea where that performance took place is it bbc uk or ed sullivan u.s.a ??? Would love to know, n thanx for making it possible to see in colour, pal 👍
The concert was in Manchester in the UK. It was Granada TV broadcast (which was or became an ITV franchisee), I think all of the concerts were held at their TV studios. Johnnie Hamp (who is a friend of a friend) was the pioneering producer at Granada TV back in the day and held introduced UK audiences to a variety of American artists.

No way ad a tour rnd granada studios with r school 1990, thanx pal
Just checked out tht UA-cam link and its fantastic ,is that the shirelles dancing across from little Richard? Could only see the back of em, im guessing their performance was the same night, same studio? Ur m8 was 1 lucky chap ,what a job 2 have at that time in music history, thanks again pal👍
donut what to now what this girls had to endure by there managers end other bystanders.
Probably later than 1963...the hairdos in the male audience ae more 1966-67...
Their hairdos were ahead of their time. It was 1963, I was corrected on this by one of the attendees of this concert (who I am Facebook friends with now). He was the one who encouraged me to colorize the entire concert (which took forever), and he in turn shared the video with his friends who had also attended, along with the producer/promoter of this concert. He also shared the video with his friend Jerry Lee Lewis (before his passing) and the family of Little Richard.
The singing on this performance is even better than the record.
But tinting the black and white film is a bad idea.
Well, I colorized the entire concert with all of the performances because the original concert attendees (who are still around) wanted to relive the experience. So, the colorization was for their benefit, and only theirs. Colorization takes an enormous amount of time btw, and the software was limitations when working with degraded video footage (which I tried to sharpen with another piece of software)
@@loublackvideo OK. But I'm having no luck finding the original. I'll keep looking.
no shit
HORRIBLE colorized version, why must people mess with the original video
Well, the original black and white video is quite bad, and even with the use of software to enhance the images, the AI colorization had very limited information to work with,....BUT all of this colorization WAS NOT for your enjoyment. The reason why I colorized this concert is because one of the British attendees of this concert wanted me to colorize the entire concert for the enjoyment or him and his friends (who are all in their 80's and 90's). For them, the colorization was able to bring back the memory of the event in the way that the poor quality black and white video could not.
Sound sounded different than the black and white version.
